My Drukhari have been busy these past few days.
●Game #1 (Sunday, 2k pts) they tore up an Anvil SM force.
In this game a Medusa truly earned her paint - by taking the last wound off a Landraider Redeemer in melee!
Game #2 (Tue eve, 2k pts) Vs all infantry Custodes.
Good game, but we spent more time BSing with each other & a few others than actually playing.....
Where we stopped at the bottom of T3 the Custodes had a 20pt lead on me.
Had we played it out we agreed that that was likely to be the opposite by T5 as my aircraft would take an increasing toll.
But for now, a Custode victory.

1.5 years since took out sylvaneth. Lost vs ghosts but damn what a game. Back and forth with both sides having chance. But made too many mistakes which cost me units which stopped bt's toward the end.
And boy ghosts are tough when they roll 10"+ charges. Strike last constantly on turns 2 & 3 meant couldn't teleport away losing some units i could have saved. Especially with -2 from charges to boot...

Tzeentch Daemons vs Orks (2000 Points)
Played my first game of 10E and my buddy's first game of 40k ever last weekend, took like 9 hours from setup to teardown Called it at the end of Turn 4 as I pulled very far ahead on primaries - while all his units felt better than mine, I had distracted his super-hammers or bogged them down in the endless goop of horror splitting for long enough to focus on the objective game. Excited for next game, which will certainly move faster
Also worth noting that my Ork opponent started hobbying on this army last September and has cracked and surpassed 2k painted now. Much respect.

The valiant forces of the Solar Auxillia lay waste to the Nightlords!
A Solar victory: 55-10.
(And my opponent was even cheating x2! He doesn't own enough stuff to legally field a Reaver Titan AND he put nearly 200 pts more on the table than I did)

It's a MOBA inspired game by Gunmeister Games that launched a 2nd edition line by Creature Caster last year. The goal of the game is destroy the big Effigy shrine on your opponent's side of the field using a team of champions. These maps are for 3v3 games, but there's also a larger board for playing the main 5v5 version. There's no hard faction restrictions; you can play whatever 3 or 5 champions you want but you do choose a patron god that gives a playstyle bonus as well as a secondary bonus to aligned characters.
The trick to the game is the Effigy fully heals at the end of the round and is overall pretty tanky and is basically impossible to kill in one go. Defeating enemy champions binds a soul to the champion that got the kill and each bound soul reduces the opponent's Effigy's max HP to zero or to bring it to a point where it can be destroyed. There are also souls that spawn towards the center of the table that can be harvested from objective points to drive engagement. You can get your Effigy's HP back by killing a model holding a soul before they can get it back to their own Effigy and drop it off for a permanent HP reduction. Gathering souls also permanently levels your characters to unlock abilities for the remainder of the game.
The other big mechanic is the inclusion of wild monsters that spawn throughout the game and automatically attack players. You can push enemy models around as a core mechanic and try to maneuver them into the path of an enemy monster, though killing enemy monsters is also useful for gaining levels and earning a fate resource that can be used for dice rerolls and paying for particularly powerful abilities.
It's been a game I've wanted to play since I first tried it out in 2016. A lot of what I liked about Guild Ball with a theme that sticks with me better. It's main issue in the past is just being an extremely expensive line of 55 mm statues. The new creature caster sculpts are significantly more affordable 40 mm line that's made it an easy pick up and one of my top 5 games of the moment. Link to their page below:

We had the game day with the kids today, and after they did some mini-painting, we played a game of Grimdark Future: Firefight. It was meant to be a four-player all vs all, with each team deploying in the corners, but the kids decided it was all vs me. I played as the "Elf Pirates" and only had three units, so I was ludicrously outnumbered, but I managed to make a good account of myself. It was fun, though. The kids had a blast killing me, and it was made even better when one of the kids had his unit fire flamers on my leader, who was surrounded, so he hit the "allies" around him.

Gloomhaven: Crimson Scales. Scenario pics are of the Orchid Chieftain discovering the steampunk-ish engine room, the previous room overgrown with nasty plants, and the Ravager entering a room with proxied Living Corpses. Too bad Ravager become exhausted that turn. 😛 At least the Orchid Chieftain fulfilled her Personal Quest by finding the widget in the scenario earlier and has retired. Time for more painting for her replacement!

More Gloomhaven: Crimson Scales!
If you saw my previous post (same page as this one), you saw the Chieftain and the Ruinmaw make their way into the complex. Chieftain retired, so the Artificer stepped in. Unfortunately, they didn't make it past the hallway. Ran out of mushroom men to proxy the oozes (which kept summoning more copies of themselves), using dice as proxies. The exhausted carcasses of our heroes are in the upper right.
The creator of the CS game, Addax Games, will have a KS in May for their GH-alike game, ROVE. Hopefully, it won't have oozes.

Last night, I played through my 12th Encounter with my Five Parsecs from Home crew, which is made up of ripoffs of characters from my 40k/Dark Heresy fanfic series Secret War. Attelus' expy is the leader, with expies of Garrakson, Elandria, Dellenger, Adelana, and Torris. The game went well, despite me making some mistakes in the deployment and a few other things. I had to escort a civilian to the middle of the field against some Unity Grunts, also had to help a Person of Interest, which was a success.
From left to right, it's Dellenger, Elandria, Attelus, Adelana, Torris and Garrakson (for context, all Hero Forge minis)

Played a great game of Gaslands last night.
Much death & destruction all around the course. But the grand-finale was when the "Shell" carswerved/slide to bring its rear mounted flame thrower to bear on the other 3 active (& badly damaged) cars.
It caused an incredible amount damage.
Incinerating one outrite causing it to explode, wich in turn caused more damage to the other 2. Then we rolled damage for the black car - wich because of the explosion turned out to be just enough. It then exploded - further damaging the truck.
The truck? It ended the phase on fire & at 1 hp remaining.
As soon as it activated on the next phase the fire killed it.
It exploded! Catching the Shell car & dealing the final point of damage to it. Shell did not explode. :(
So the turn ended with nothing but piles of exploded burning wreckage just inches away from the Finnish line.
Technically the game couldve continued with some of the cars re-spawning.
But we decided that since it was pushing midnight, we were all hungry, & the mtg players had just wrapped up & this past turn would be hard to top action wise that this was a great time to call it.
We awarded the Shell car a posthumous victory for causing so much carnage & entertainment in 1 round.

NIGHT OF THE MURDER CHICKEN
Rethemed a tragic scenario into murder most fowl. The poultry miniature is actually useful in an event card as well, and I'd like to think said chicken got its taste of BLOOD and formed its own tasty cult. Anyway, our two boys encounter the murder chicken (towards the back, near a man-eating plant) the first time, but would fail three times in this difficult scenario!
Enemies, and Wizard and Murder Chicken from Wildspire Miniature's "Monster Set" and "Spellblades and Enchanted Objects" set.

I have a topic or two for this for this
https://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/789567.page
The short answer
.all of our games are based on 5th ed core rules. however 3rd-7th ed codexes are cross compatible. you pick the codex you feel best represents your army and build it from that codex we have a few house rules fixes/add ons such as using the 4th ed wound allocation system to avoid shenanigans and we added in grenade throwing, over watch and snap fire from 7th ed because we felt is really improves game experience.
The detailed explanation of rules fixes is here-

Post by: Maréchal des Logis Walter
Gonna give this a read, I was mostly thinking about point costs compatibility as points costs globally decreased over time and i was wondering whether that could influence the game at disadvantage for the earlier codex. When I do this, I tend to align point costs with newer codices as much as possible.

Its a trade off you can get more "stuff" with some of the newer codexes, but you loose loads of the in-built thematic rules. one of the guys tinkered around with it and after trying to use the 7th ed rules for his guard and marines he decided to go back to using the older editions instead because it better fit the feel of his army. being able to use tank hunter skills/iron fathers for his iron hands or tank hunter/beast hunter shells for him imperial guard etc...
The only universal points cost change we made was basic grenades (krak/frag etc..). the equivalent is free for every faction. as you used to have to pay for them and later editions just included them as standard kit.

Fifteen hundred point sixth edition mirror match between damn near identical High Elf and Dark Elf forces. Had we gone one more turn I would have been completely tabled as the High Elf player.

First game outside of a few MCP games in 3 years.
A Warhammer the Old World slow grow escalation league has started at my local FLGS.
Starting 750pts, and will go up 500pts every 4 weeks to 2250 points final armies and end in a 'tournament' games day.
I took a varied army to learn the rules with fighting units, archers, a mage and chariots.
The chariots were unbelievable and ran rampant through his army, killing a unit of warhounds, unit 3 minotaurs, a mage on a chariot and then shot a couple more warhounds.
Rolled a double 1 for my main combat unit to hold (the only way I would).
Good to be back but hard learning from scratch with all the changes, but I will pick it up quickly.

game update time-
House 5th ed-
4th ed tau VS 5th ed guard 2k points (crisis suits are being run as broadside teams of 2)
Game 2 was chaos on chaos action-khorne berserkers VS iron warriors. at 3K points 5 objectives-
We also had the battle tech campaign going but my picture of that didn't turn out.
My games-
A small heavy gear test game. the buildings are the wrong scale as this was the battle tech table for the night but we just rolled with it.
Then it was on to battle tech-
3050 lance on lance action-
3067 lights and mediums do battle-
Then the big action of the night-the main even CLAN INVASION 3050!!
3 lances VS 1 star forced withdrawal on the inner sphere side, clanners fight to the last.

5.5k of EpicAU, IW vs. Mech, 10'x4' table. The IV legion pushed aggressively forwards into the robotic boogaloo, perhaps too deep and too greedily even, as their frontline was raked by endless rain of plasma mortars and their Mortis Warhounds blown apart by the massed Ordinatii beams. After four rounds of white-bled attrition, both sides were in broken tatters but the Mechanicum had held firmer. They had won the skies and retained their biggest guns, leaving the Iron Warriors little choice but to eventually concede the field.

The table was eldar maiden world ruins with 3 objectives.
there was a little bolt action-
soviets VS germans
A couple games of MCP
Then a couple games of heavy gear- the first at 100 points and the second bumped up to 150-
The games i got in were 2 games of DUST 1947 the first was Brits VS NDAK at 80 points and the second was a demo/training game putting the Brits up against the German zombies at 53 points-

Gave Dune War for Arrakis a try. This is kind of what I'm looking for in terms of complexity. A good amount of rules to keep it interesting, but not so many that it's impossible to remember all of the details. First time playing it and we had a ton of fun!

Sure. Blow the picture up & squint a bit you'll sorta see a blob of them hiding behind the rock formations on the upper right. They are a mix of all types of old Guard figures & of average paint jobs.
There's also the psyker/Deamon summoner (brown coat) hanging out with some UM, just behind the FW Knight next to a red die.
On the objective near the greenish GW terrain piece you'll notice some of the pink horrors that were summoned.
And down on the lower right you'll see a Leman Russ.
Sorry, this is the best pic of the battle.
Other pics, taken later in the game, were A) pretty poor & not worth posting, so got deleted, B) showed even less of the Militia as they were mostly all vaporized by the Reavers gatling blaster.
I think 3 Militia guys ended up surviving.

We had an out of schedule sixth dish in gaming day today, to which I couldn't make it. There were enough people, however, to do two separate games on two separate tables. My brother Ashley played our Skaven against Carl's all-Goblin horde, while Bret's Dark Elves took on John's Orcs and Goblins.

Played five games of Battletech using the introduction rules, I took to the field in the blue one, my friend was the red one. 😉
The first two games really didn't go my way, abysmal rolling on my part, plus some pretty good rolls from my opponent, who in game one pretty much shot my torso out and in the second game blew away my entire right side, disarming me and forcing me to resign.
Come the third game, I bravely decided to set up camp in a forest, much to the annoyance of my opponent, who wanted a straight up fight, but had a much harder time hitting me and after way too much shooting, I managed to win.
Fourth game was more of an open slug match, with us walking around exchanging fire, took forever, but I finally managed to down my opponent.
Final game, here I decided to go all out and take the fight to her, instead of the other way round, trying to be as in her face as possible, which wound up saving me, as running made me harder to hit, paired with about the only really good rolls of the day! This game was over in two rounds, as I managed to land both PPC shots on the centre torso. 🤘🏻
My pilot earned herself a nickname, at first she was called "Crash" mockingly by my opponent because of my rather lacklustre performance, but after the final game, where I charged in like a loon, it took on a whole other meaning.

Little late on the updates tonight,
We start out with some classic warhammer fantasy battles
Some 5th ed 40K iron hands VS guard-
MCP-
And lastly some classic battle tech
My games-
Some of my ships didn't come in time for my Lyran force so i had to do some proxy work for my aero tech (battle tech space combat) fleet.
Game 1 was against a new player using my clan fleet and the second was against a federated suns force.
My last game of the night was a heavy gear battle. i was trying out some new gear and units CEF VS southern forces.

1250pts O&G (Gobbos) vs Chaos.
Slow grow league and 3rd game of WTOW.
Click on the pic for a bigger version.
Vs a fantastic converted army with AOS models which perfectly suit chaos.
Got smashed.
Managed to kill both of his small forsaken units, 1 ogre and 2 knights. He almost wiped me out.
Things learnt:
Impact hits can be generated against a unit that charge me, if I pursued a fleeing unit last turn.
Skirmishes
How to use warmachines.
There is nothing in the rules for what happens when a fanatic moves through another fanatic. I erred on the side of caution and just removed them both like 8th ed, but need look into it further.
Happenings:
Doom Diver: Turn 1 Misfire (Twang)
Turn 2 misfire and fell apart
Bolt thrower missed twice then killed in combat
Failed all but 1 casting roll with 2 level 2 mages.
Passed 1 of 6 dispels
Goblin chariots do work better in units of 3 rather than single models.
2d6 movement is horrendous on the pump wagons, but 4 of them is great, I would never run them as a larger unit due to the unreliability of the mvt.
My night gobbo boss on giant squig rolled 18 on mvt turn 1 and then 3 on turn 2 and failed his charge. :(

One of the characters has a Personal Quest that requires he shoves enemies into traps, so I'm replaying a scenario that allows him to shove enemies into traps. The other guys are tagging along to keep him from being killed. Sparkboy uses Sparks for card effects, and replenishes them from the dead bodies of his fallen enemies. Perfect excuse to use that Loot 1 card! The Firecat is a proxy for the fire character class, who has a ladder she can climb for various bonus card effects. A ladder from the Mantic Terrain Crate works for dioramas, at least.

The update-
Classic battle tech-
battle tech alpha strike-
House 5th ed 40K
Iron warriors (3.5) VS imperial guard (5th)
They actually did 2 games with one win each-
The the iron warriors (3.5) faced off against the black templar (4th)-crusader squads were still inside the raiders and the podding dread and terminators hadn't arrived yet for the templars-super close game, went to turn 7
Then it was Tau (4th) vs a different iron warriors (3.5) player-
My games-
MCP-20 point game- avengers VS X-men-come from behind win for the Xmen at the last second-
Jumped into the 40K battles against loyalist iron hands (3rd) with my assault guard (5th)-
Last one for me was some aero tech fleet combat with fighters this time-

30k today.
We saw my Mechanicum vs Custodes (+ Callidus Assassin.
It ended in a draw.
The highlight of the game being when the Assassin charged into the Skitarri & over the course of 2 fight phases only killed 7/10, and to add further insult/injury, got killed herself.
Only then did the survivors morale break & they legged it for my deployment zone.

Epic: Armageddon, 3k. The Machine Church met the Tzeentchian hordes of the Lost and the Damned in a battle of thoroughly fumbled command networks and misfortunes, as both sides bled and stumbled forwards hopelessly. Even kicking airman Jones into the empty fuel tank instead failed to get the birds flying. No breakthrough was achieved nor any formations properly destroyed, though the price in blood and oil rose high for everyone on the burning sands. Neither side achieved any real objectives nor was there any meaningful difference between the casualty tiebreakers, ending in a true, futile draw.

Got thrashed again, but wasn't a tabling and did get to push back and do better.
Snotling pump wagons were worse than last battle. At 2d6 they are just too random (and slow). Not a single combat on my terms.
Same with the giant squig riding hero. Either rolls massive or nothing. Nothing when you want to do get into combat.

Had a chance to run my second playtest of the 10mm fantasy skirmish rules I'm designing (tentatively titled Dekatropik).
Here are some pics of fracas that ensued when the faceless armored warriors of the Wild Hunt took their wyrm, wyvern, and pack of frost wargs on an incursion into the demesne of the Vampire Court of Ir-Salom.
40mm and 20mm round bases, mostly multi-based. 16x16in board. Reactions-based player turn structure. Rules-light, miniatures-agnostic mechanics.
If a 10mm skirmish game may be of interest, please do fill out the playtest form! Will be sharing Alpha rules later in August.

Since I was just running a bog-standard kill 'em all sorta game, the twin-headed dragon and wolves with the champions attached were effective wrecking balls, which offset the numbers the Vampires had.
They'd be at a disadvantage in an objectives-holding scenario, but that's the case with every elite list ever.

Classic 40K-
3rd ed Nids VS Eldar-
Had some friends do a couple planned large 3K point 5th ed games-
The crimson fists used the 5th ed codex, the IG used 5th and the iron hands used 3.5 index astartes.
The first was IG VS crimson fists-
In the second the Fists went against the iron hands-
The last was a test list with the blue marines/tau vehicles "counts as" an Iyanden craftworld wraith list VS a 4th ed black templars list
My games-
Classic battle tech
3rd succession wars fedcom lances (steiner and davion) facing down the clan invasion-
My final game was a house 5th ed 40K game 5th ed guard VS 4th ed black templar-

2 games of house 5th ed 40K
.black templar (4th) VS chaos (3.5)
Orks (4th) VS chaos (3.5)
One of the regulars is trying his hand at game design so he was doing some 6MM scale testing of his scifi game under development-
Then there was a classic battle tech game 3rd succession war-
My games consisted of 2 test games with proxies to try out the IJN ninja list. i ran Allied heavy rangers and he first did a mostly infantry list.
Game 2 he swapped out 4 of his ninja railgun teams for 2 of his railgun walkers.

Sigmar 4e today.
2k pts,
Gloomspite vs an unholy alliance of Khorne/Tzeentch.
It was a hard fought battle. And, although the goblins took nearly 95% casualties doing it, the little green runts pulled off a 3pt victory....
Special (posthumous) recognition must be paid to Stikka units #2 & #3. These 40 spear weilding grots kept Skarbrand occupied for 3! Turns. And inflicted a respectable 7 pts of damage to him in the process.
They died on turn 4, but that meant Skarbrand had no hope of getting back into action T5.

Thoughts on WTOW so far.
Non super elite/monster infantry is in dire need of something to make them worthwhile. In most battles the front rank is wiped out and I do not even get to fight outside of a character or champion.
25% of the rules could be removed/streamlined and that would make for a much more enjoyable experience. I'm not here to be constantly looking up rules. I want to play the game. Complexity for the sake of complexity is not enjoyable.
How a kid is meant to start playing is beyond me...
Just bring back a magic phase/have all spells in the command phase. Trying to work out which spells to cast when is again, just complexity for the sake of it and very frustrating.
Snotling pump wagons... I have run them in all but 1 game so far, Started with 4, and triet that for several games and have been dropping them more and more and in the last game 1. I rolled 3, then 4, then when I had nothing near me, 11. 2d6 for movement is woeful. Make it 3d6 and have them actually get to be near fighting. Also with the random move rules you can wheel but essentially are always trying to set up 1 turn ahead, then either get charged and smashed, or then fail to impact, or my opponent stops 2 inches away and I get no impact hits. They were great in every previous edition but with their current movement rules, I wouldn't buy them, even at 10pts per model. They are awful.
Cav and flying monsters are where it is at. The movement and impact on charge leaves nothing left for me to do. This even applies to my 5 man spider rider unit with full command that wiped out 2 warmachines, a unit of crossbowmen and tied up a bretonnian knights of the realm unit by hitting it in the flank.
I had played Warhammer Fantasy from 1990 until the end of 8th edition. This is so far, the worst one by far.

Both Landraiders were down to thier last wound. I shot the pulse blast at the BA Raider. Hit, wounded, failed save, and then exploded. Doing 1 MW to the UM LR. Sadly that one didn't also explode.

Then there was some 9th ed 40K

Then we had house 5th ed 40K
black templar VS iron warriors.
I ended up getting 3 games in with my salamanders and allied deathwatch-
Game 1 was against iron hands-
Game 2 and 3 were a bit odd, as i fought the same army 2 times, but the owner of the army was tied up in a battle tech game and let another regular borrow his army for a bit to test it out. we had a good game but never finished it.
The real fight happened last when the actual owning player threw down for a big fight.

This week was Infinity marathon night. We played a combination N2/ N3 game-N2 core rules with new units/weapons from N3
The table was a 6X4 with 5 objectives-3 liftable and 2 hackable.
Since i was the only one who brought my armies we did a bit of play testing. i ran 2 different versions of combined army as well as a HAQQ general list. then we play tested a military orders list (knights hospitallers) with variations-

Got a quick game of Project Z military Vs biker gang, this evening. Went 12-11 in my favour, I managed to wrestle a last turn victory with a general assault. Was great fun! Played a little dirty in the end... (top photo). I ran away from a fight using one of my abilities to avoid loosing the man that made the difference in the very last close combat!

Yesterday's game of Dracula's America for our Free State of Perdition campaign. Dark Confederacy soundly beat the Twilight Order in a pure kill points mission, but lost one of their best fighters. Meanwhile, my forever rookie Fodder McLamb is still alive and rocking all four different permanent injuries (this is very impressive because rolling a double of any injury kills you outright).
The other notable thing was a playtest of my own game, a wizard arena deathmatch/basketball sport titled The Floor is Mana, coming soon to a Wargame Vault near you

5k of Epic: Armageddon, Ill Met by Moonlight.
Patrols met under the onslaught of the tyranid invasion and quickly escalated as marching columns started pouring into the city. The situation quickly dipped to Mechanicus' favor, as they got their big guns onto the field and incessantly pummeled the xenos as they tried to escape the traffic jam at their deployment area.

I have been feeling a bit anti-social lately, so decided to continue a solo-campaign for Under the Martian Yoke.
Things did not go well for my little survivor band, as immediately a Martian Tripod showed up to wreck their morning......
Wow, for a first game back at the campaign; this was a disaster for my survivors! You can read all about it here:

Tragedy in three acts: 3k NetEA Imperial Fists vs. the Machine Church, Reinforce the Right ( GT scenario with three waves of troops and randomised deployment areas). The central firebase of the cog-boys proved too tough to crack for the astartes who arrived far from their main objectives and though the battle hung in balance until the very end, eventually the grand magos led their taxi-deprived and thus slowly stretching column of servitors and priests deep into the enemy rear.
Do note the Fists' Devastators' laudable camouflage exercise "Operation Atlas".

Imperial Agents (mostly DW) + 2 Warglaglaives vs Khorne Demons & Wardogs.
The Khorne player conceded going into his 3rd turn. Didnt even attempt his shooting phase.
He didn't think he had a shot catching me VP wise (it was only 37/15, my favor). I think he was way underestimating his chances. Both of crippling me this turn & then surpassing me on VPs in turns 4 & 5.

Game 2 was 3.5 plague marines VS 5th ed necrons-

My games were all battle tech-
The first was a re-match against last weeks Steiner assault lance with a Kurita assault lance-

Bunch of big 4K games in our oldhammer group
Game 1 was a 4K per side iron hands VS black templar battle- so many land raiders.........
Game 2 was the templar player fighting a combined iron warrior/plague marine force. funny to watch especially since nurgles rot affected the other chaos player as well since he was undivided.
There was a 3rd 2K point game of combined chaos forces VS necrons using the forgeworld fall of orpheus tomb world rules. but i was busy with my own game and forgot to snap a picture.
templar won game 1 on a tie breaker and chaos won game 2, but just barely. with only a couple models left for each player on the team.
It took close to 8 hours to get around to the game i was waiting for because the templar player was also my opponent.
We did a battle tech game clan assault star VS a double fedcom assault lance. -brutally close game

After I'm not really sure how many years we got the band back together for a game last Saturday. HH2.0
4 players, 2 teams of two. Word bearers and Space Wolves vs Imperial first and my First Legion.
I took my terrain up to the game. My friends hadn't seen any of it in person yet. We took our time and flipped through the rules for hours while we played. The game went almost 6 hours but it flew by. we had a blast. My team, Imperial First and First legion won the game by one point. I really enjoyed the game and so far the game rules. We're looking to start playing once a month starting in the ne year after the holidays are over. Unfortunately for me I drove 200 miles in total just to play nearly 5 hours on the road. It's going to be rough but I think I can manage. My buddie gave me a Land Raider Spartan, he still has 9 more in his collection. Looks like I'll be painting again after all.
The terrain more or less won up the game. My friends complaint was just that he had no decent fire lanes. Which seems fair to me. I'm happy to adjust in the future but it did help my very very basic list to at least have a decent showing Winning the game was unexpected. Our mission was to get line units into the enemy deployment Zone. Some how we did. The other side fell just a bit short but may have taken it in another round. Really good game and lots of fun hanging out with good friends.

Tonight my Grey Knights squared off against a brand new Imperial Knights force/player.
2k pts.
I took down Canis Rex (and Hektor), a Paladin(?) & 2/3 Warglaives.
And nearly bracketed the big FW Knight.
My general plan was to kill everything but the FW knight & then out score the foe.
Unfortunately there were a few poor dice rolls that delayed me clearing Rex & the right flank.
Wich ended up costing me precious units.
I didn't win this one, but the game was very very close pts wise.

Here are some of my favourite photos of not-Attelus Kaltos after he killed the enemy Unique Individual a Freelancer after said Freelancer took out no-Elandria in close combat which I decided enraged Attelus into charging the guy in vengeance. Elandria survived FYI, she was just injured in the leg no thanks to a re-roll on the injury table because non-Adelana had Medical Training as the re-roll was "death".

We ended up with a busy night-this started out with 40K (5th) and battle tech, then even more house 40K 5th ed.
40K 2k tau (4th) VS iron hands(4th)-
Tau(4th) VS iron warriors(3.5). -
Then a bunch of late arrivals turned into a huge apocalypse level 40K game with iron warriors, world eaters, plague marines and thousand sons teaming up against necrons.
We has some players trying out the newest rules for specter operations-
Then we has some classic battle tech
and finally my games-
I started with a planned 65 point MKIII warmchine game with modified(doubled) shooting range attacks.
We did some later era battle tech, but after a 2 turn pummeling, the other player decided to reset and switch from his Davions to his Lyrans-
a much closer game second time around

Adeptus Titanicus today! To start off, I aged 5 years when the cat knocked paint water over my cards and terminals. Tried the Open Engine War cards today and got an absolute gakshow of a scenario, where we could both deploy right up to the centre of the table, and the exact centre was also the sole all-or-nothing objective and the source of an expanding radiation wave that made it impossible to vent reactor plasma. Long story short, absolute lore win, everything died (I run a custom Traitor Legio specialized in self-destructing advantageously) and a Direwolf scout titan ran up to take the objective in the last round.

It was a hoot. You see my Warlord and Reaver standing back to back near the front? As soon as there was enough of a gap, the enemy Princeps in a melee Reaver warp-teleported in and stabbed the Warlord. I intentionally detonated it, the blast took out an entirely separate enemy Reaver and damaged my Reaver so bad it died in the End phase - we also had a planetary effect that titans with critical damage take more damage over time - and this blast took out the enemy Princeps Reaver. This was turn 2.

4th ed iron hands VS 4th ed black templar in our house 5th ed games
Then chaos(3.5) tried their hand at trying to dislodge some imperial fist (4th) in a fortress, had to do a bit of proxy work here the primaris tank is standing in as a typhon siege tank, the little missile thing is a tarantula turret. the strong point is 2 bunkers connected by a wall of martyrs defense line with tanglewire/tank trap sections across the front. a proper fight for the sons of Dorn.
Now on to my games-
I also got a battle tech game in at the end of the night but since we started it at like 1 am i kind of forgot to snap any pictures

Played some more Co Op KT21 today.
I confess messing up the killzone this time, the NPOs really cant handle a board with only narrow chokepoints at the middle of the board. Wanted to try the "City walls" style layout again, and have to say, open terrain without chokepoints is kind of a must for the NPO system to work. I doubt you'd have a satisfactory gallowdark mission against NPOs either, unless the forces were way skewed in favour of the NPOs. But given that, some form of Space Hulk *might* still work.. assuming theres enough stealers and doors could be opened/destroyed..
Pro Tip: If you have tokens from both KT21 & KT24, use one set on the other team and another on their opponent. Easy to know which side's tokens are what, even when egaged in melee, because the sets look different

We started with some house 5th ed 40K

Black templar 4th VS the same guard force on the jungle table.
The classic battle tech campaign went for a huge battle royale-

I also got a regular dark angels battle in with deathwatch going up against the black templar.
I ended the day with a planned clan on clan battle with second line mechs.

I played my first game of 8th yesterday and played another game of AoS

Andros Pyreaus, Chapter Master of the Silver Hammers, after ordering as many heavy weapons as possible to fire upon the Beast of Calth, watched in horror as it refused to fall. The beast, roaring with rage, charged at Andros, who was prepared for this fight. Popping a frag grenade, Old One Eye was staggered enough to swap at the Argentum Angel, but faltered in the last seconds, just barely managing to hit the shield generated by the Iron Halo above his head. Having the chance to fight back, Andros swung his mighty relic Thunder Hammer, the silver hammer, at the beast. knocking it down. Climbing onto the monster, the chapter master wanted to ensure that this monster would be stopped, for now at the least and crushed its head with the blunt weapon. Sadly, as the battle drew to a close, retreats called, and brothers abandoned: Andros's auto-sensors picked up a signature through the gathering smoke of the lost battle, the silhouette of Old One Eye, lurking away to its next battle.
TL;DR Old One Eye charged my chapter master, he killed it. It failed to revive. But in lore, Old One Eye, even when dead, doesn't die.

That's a supercool variety of games played, Lunarsol. I would probably make more rules mistakes than actual moves if I wanted to keep so many rulesets in my head at the same time!

Luckily I learned them slowly over the years and cycle them enough that the mistakes made aren't TOO egregious.

Yep, i started my adventures with wargaming with battle tech in 87, then 40K in 3rd ed......and then when 6th ed 40K happened i started moving into other systems...see my SIG-i play at least 13 different systems, some only occasionally, but they are all great in their own way. keeping them all striaght is pretty easy for the most part, but if there are questions....that's what we have rulebooks for.

Currently playing a Lasting Tales generic fantasy miniatures campaign.
Our heroes are preparing to loot the dungeon! They also have an objective of something something something but RAW it's easier to go after the unprotected treasure.
Mini's from the Blacklist Games "Fantasy Series I" KS fiasco. These miniatures have been acquired by Wildspire Miniatures and are available retail under their Classics line. WM will be funding a campaign for the "Fantasy Series II" miniatures under their "Relics Reforged" line. Battle System's new Dungeon terrain.

I managed to play the Battle of Kadesh twice. The Hittites won both encounters but to very different degrees and both sides using very different tactics.

The Sorceror's Tower : In which we kick glass cannon butt
One problem I have with Lasting Tales are its unprotected sorcerers. Thematically, it makes sense for a sorcerer to be all fight, low defense, and arrogant enough that it doesn't need minions, but RAW, heroes can each attack first before the sorcerer can fight back. The AI doesn't have minions protecting elite spellcasters, so you may want to add this AI rule to keep sorcerers from being blown to bits and stabbed before it has a chance to fight back. This makes the game more challenging, of course.
In any case, the scenario is unique in that it divides the board into four smaller quadrants, as the heroes teleport from one to another, finding the sorcerer's orbs to weaken him (reduce his resistance). Besides the Rogue Wizard, as adversaries, we chose a Vampire Lord (spellcaster) and Wraiths (melee minions). The scenario is tough because the minions spawn on the same quadrant as the heroes -- no walking two feet to get to the fight!
The game starts challenging, with two groups of adversaries on the board. Well, when you've selected two adversary groups, you start the game with all your enemies nearby! Thankfully (?) I thematically set up the board suchthat the Vampire Lord was protecting one of the orbs (so powerful it makes ivy grow upwards!) to capture behind a three-story tower that separated him (no LOS) to the heroes, while the wraith minions went after us. Nothing like combat in the first turn!
After a challenging fight (minions are nasty!), we went after the Vampire Lord. Busting open the door, the wizard threw a lightning bolt at him, then the paladin shimmied down a ladder and punctured him while he was in bat form. Silly Vampire! After obtaining the orb, we teleported into another quadrant with another challenging fight with a bunch of minions, as the paladins became punching bags, while the wizard, who had the Fleet of Foot spell, went after the orb and grabbed a scroll from a treasure chest while she was at it. Clerics are sure good at keeping paladins alive!
The climax of the game was tense, but kinda dumb. Before activating a sorcerer, you roll on its Magic Table. While this works sorta well, the Rogue Wizard chose... Teleport! This moved him closer to us, avoiding all that terrain that was protecting him. No doubt, his arrogance and confidence that his minions on the board would protect him would, well, protect him. One lightning bolt and paladin who had the Hate(Sorcerer) ability later, he found out otherwise.
