My grots killed & looted two of them this past weakend.
So I'm going to convert one into a Mega-Armored Ork Mek. Combi-rocket/shoota + tellyporta gun. Paint it blue (because they WERE UM) & make the Mek a Deathskull (they believe blue is a lucky color).
Not sure what I'll do with the other two....

Just managed to get my holy grail - the Over the Top supplement for the Warhammer Historical WW1 The Great War ruleset. Been chasing it for years, and always missed opportunities to grab it by a hair, but this time I finally managed to snag it. I'm not happy about the price I paid for it, but I wasn't going to take the risk of not being able to catch it again.

18" of electrical wire, 18" of very fine chain, several packs of really small eye hooks, & some other assorted bitz from the local hardware.
Oh, and a cheap bag of green army men machine guns.
Gotta make my grots some custom Kustom Mega Blasters & some tow hooks/chains.

I picked up a solid 2kish points of Blood Angels off ebay for 30% of retail. I haven't played space marines in years, but I couldn't resist such a deal. Now I just need to hope I can intercept the package before the wife sees it and she deals 20 mortal wounds to me

Picked up a terrain set from battle systems. It looks decent but requires “advanced modeling skills”. Since I don’t have those skills, this will also be my last purchase from their stuff.

Wouldn't it make more sense to put it together first rather than swearing off them sight unseen?

I don't have Catachans, Praetorians, Valhallans, Vostroyans or Steel Legion. I stuck with Cadians (both types), Tallarns and Mordians.

I would need at least a squad of Steel Legion, Valhallan and Vostroyan (though I have a Vost officer and a bunch of sarges).

Which is not a huge project. I have my Necromunda/Catachan/Whatever Infantry hoard already and can just add them. It's not like I'd be committing to an army or each or getting 1 of each metal figure...

Picked up the new Battlezone: Fronteris – Nachmund terrain box and an addtional STC Hab-Bunker and Stockades.

I'm a terrain junky. HAHA.

A Tyranid codex, cards, & the new Parasite.

Pre-ordered the Tyranids book, the cards and a box of Warriors to go with it (store was out of Parasite, strangely enough).

The Warriors will be my first box in years, all the 15 I previously owned came when they were released back in 3rd edition, so "old" sculpt of them, no swords, no Prime bitz, etc. Getting them to build my 4th Prime (totally needed I swear!) with a Venom Cannon for some fire support!

Unlike Batman, I broke my one rule: I ordered an actual printed Codex from GW. In my defence, the Hive Mind made me do it.

Now I just have to keep to my other one rule: Never ever buy anything from Forge World.

I plan to get 1000 pts of Necron, so the Worldscourge Legion Battleforce is coming.

Recently bought some Tau - Hammer Head and Commander Farsight for my Xeno army.

And un-warhammer I bought "Monster of the Week" for some good ole one shots.

A bunch of clear and MDF bases. 10mm bases seem too small for a baby Kinght.

Someone mentioned that they have two horde boxes of Mantic zombies that they don't actually want so I took the opportunity.
They undead in my cupboard keep growing despite my actually getting them painted being far over the horizon (never mind actually playing a game). I suppose that's what undead hordes do if not paid proper attention.

I just received some custom dungeon tiles from Litko-Aero for my homebrew dungeon crawl.
I painted up some of them up already for photos.

All of the "Named" Stormcast units for AoS- The Farstriders, Steelhearts Champions, The Curse Breakers, & the Truth Seekers.

The new Thondia book has a cool rule where you can send a unit on your Path to Glory roster that wasn't used in the battle to go on a scouting mission. Roll dice: they find something & you get some perk/they have to fight a monster/they find nothing.
How cool is this? I can essentially send out a named adventuring party to poke around Ghuur while my army fights the battles.
Of course the SMART play here is to send out a pack of Gryph Hounds (cheap unit, larger model count to absorb any losses if the fight a monster & lose) to do this scouting. But that lacks something storywise....

Anyways, I couldn't decide wich group I liked more model-wise so I picked them all up. If our PtG goes long enough I'll see if I can't squeeze all of them into the list. But 1 group of adventurers is definitely going exploring....

A set of Nachmund CSMs, and all the glyphs and icons from a Stompa kit.

Grabbed some Sisters of Silence who will now become Painbringers for my slaanesh army.

Added to that the Slaanesh underworld team before it vanishes for an unknown length of time.

Snagged a GS Goliath, going to see if I can kitbash a missile launcher onto it for a manticore alternative

Found an opportunity to pick up some "Direct Only" stuff at a discount.

So, grabbed the two winged Autarchs I've been wanting to get since the newer Autarch was announced, and a set of Ogre Ironguts, then grabbed a regular set of 6 Ogres at the same time.

Now I have all the Ogres I need for Quest.

I picked up Firefight 2E by Mantic Games, and some extra units to supplement the starter set.

Spent waaaaaay too much money on some OOP Skaven from the 80's.

At least the warband I am working on can be considered "complete" with these last purchases.

Finally got my hands on the last few distraction Grots from the Ork Kommando box I needed to form a 10x squad.
In the next Crusade I plan to use these guys as a Horrible Gitz specialist mob & deep-strike them via Tellyporta Pad onto far flung objectives, etc.

They won't be very good at the task. I mean, they're just 10 ObSec Grots who'll be operating far away from what meager support Grots can get in this edition.... But it's more a story thing.

Rounded out some expansions for shadows of brimstone and a lone lizard rider from Void 1.1 for use in one page rules.

Managed to secure a copy of the Chaos Knights army set, the Triumph of St. Katherine and also got word that the loyalist codex + datacards are on their way to me.

Did you see the "Sump" terrain/art subculture of the Necromunda community? Mine are for that, huts on buoys

Picked up some Necromunda stuff from a friend of mine; he was selling his Orlock gang really cheap and with the new release I was definitely interested, so now I have 10 assembled or partially assembled Orlock gangers, a partially-assembled kit of Arms Masters and Wreckers, some resin upgrade weapons, and a NIB Orlock Gang box. Once I pick up a box of the quad bikes I should be well on my way to having a decent Orlock gang. I'll probably wait until that announced book drops before I actually assemble anything or start playing.

Bought the new free Folk heroes and Stark Mormont She-bears for A Song of Ice and Fire miniature game.

Also bought some Buzz Lightyear toys to use as spaceships

They also won the match with no surviving SoB anywhere near the body - so they've looted her armor & are busy making a brand new Killa Kan out of it.

My january order from element games finally shipped, so I have some crisis suits, a commander, a stealth team and a hammerhead on the way.

The double-handed Chainaxe from the new Nachmund CSM upgrade sprue, and a Icarus Rocket Pod from a Redemptor Dread.

Two bits that are hard to find, certainly from the same place, and are almost always out of stock.

Yeah, I can get the Chainaxe off eBay for a stupid amount (+shipping), but getting it and the Rocket Pod at the same time is a big win. Been waiting a while for those particular planets to align.

Picked up four new bottles of paint and two brushes.

Got transport bags (pack 720) and various foams, and think I will still have space in the bag if everything fits the way O think they will in those foams!

Delivery should take about a month now (they warns you so as sale draws a lot of orders), but still can't wait to finally have a way to stare and transport my Eldars!

I have the OLD (Chaos, apparently) sprue of Heavy Weapons for them to carry: Missile Launcher, Autocannon, Conversion Beamer. So now I have one of each of the possible Hybrids that can appear for purposes of Terminator harassment.

Got this nagging feeling that something tempting is going to be announced soon, so for now I'm holding back on purchases...

I broke down and got not one, but TWO Warhammer Quest swarm sprues on Ebay. The price was incredibly reasonable and everything was pristine. I didn't even get gouged on shipping from the UK!

I needed exactly one more snotling and one more rat for my homebrew dungeon crawl. I was having a hard time finding anything that matched that wasn't 20 years OOP.

On the plus side, this also means I'll have two extra spiders and a pair of those really cool bats

I NEVER find those sprues at a decent price. Ever. It's like it'd be cheaper to by genetically enhanced kidneys than to buy that stuff, and as I'm trying to build a 100% pure Minotaur army from those monopose Minos I'm REALLY feeling the pain of gouging. Sucks because those spiders would be great for my Tomb Swarms and those bats are perfect for Bat Swarms.

Except I have been diving into Mantic's Firefight.

Magnets last weekend. Prior to that, it was paints. The last model I got was the Glottkin. While assembling him, I realized I didn't have the magnets for the little duders on his back hence the magnet purchases.

This year, I decided in January I wanted to just play a current army so I bought and painted a Maggotkin mortal army. First time I bought, assembled, and painted an entire army that fast and that quickly. I've got enough to try a couple of different builds. I want to try a Rotbringer Coven next so I need to add more to my collection ove the next year. Same goes for maggoth lords.

It won't happen until tomorrow, but I have the option of purchasing - painted and assembled - 4 Armigers (2 of each type) and 2 Knights.

The Armigers are perfect, in that the paint-scheme is white with black trim meaning they are essentially primed for me: the metallics of the appendages and chassis are done, so I can apply my paint-scheme easily to the panels. Plus the bases are nicely textured and I need do very little to match them with my preferred look. These are definite buys.

The Knights are problematic, as I intend to play them as Imperial (specifically, Mechanicus) - they are constructed in the 8th edition Chaos-style (I guess?) of two of one type of ranged weapon on both arms (RF battle cannons for one, Avenger gatling cannons the other).

At least I can turn the one with Avengers into a Warden since I have the bits to make a Thunderstrike gauntlet.

However: (1st World Problem alert) the Knight is wearing its mask and I would prefer its face to be bare for that sweet sweet Mechanicus visage.

More Corax White spray, Nighthaunt + Daughters of Kaine battletomes, & a handfull of D&D minis. Oh, and more glue.

Purchased the 4 Armigers and 1 singular Knight for less than the cost of one new Questoris Knight.

Bonus: the mask on the Questoris Knight was easily removed!

Bonus Bonus: the left arm is not glued into place, so the surgery to remove its Avenger for replacement with a Gauntlet can proceed without complication!!

I found a good deal for everything from the Nethermaze box, besides the models for $40, so I scooped that up. I have enough warbands, I don't need the new ones, but I do want the new universal cards and boards.

Also, got the limited edition Chaos Knights codex and datacards off someone who bought multiple sets of the Chaos Knights box, for $60, so I felt pretty good about that too.

A handful of ork Rokkit arms from Kanz/Dreads/Mdreads.

Found a copy of Axis & Allies Pacific 1940 2nd Edition at an opshop today for $20 sold marked as missing parts.
Just finished going through the components and I seem to only be missing 3 US infantry, 1 ANZAC destroyer, 1 ANZAC transport, 1 navel token and 1 airbase token.
Also have an extra ANZAC cruiser somehow.

An Exocrine and 2 Spawn.

Then a Sentinel and one bottle each of Agrax Gloss, Reikland Gloss and Nuln Oil Gloss.

Assorted spraypaint for basing terrain. Plus a new can of Army Painter black primer, because I left my old one in the sun and when I picked it up the bottom was bulging out from pressure and I didn't want to risk spraying with a bomb.

A webstore based out of Quebec I use offers instore credit for used models. I gave them an Ork army that I...Ran out of creative drive for. And turned it into a brand new box of Chaos Marines, spawn and Skarbrand.


One day I'll have a Chaos Horde.

I bought a box of Ork Boyz since I've been in an Orky mood, painting various greenskins in the old-school Goff tricolor.

Later today it'll be another box of 40k Gretchin.

I can't believe how many 40k grots I own (94) that don't have any game function themselves other than being visual bits for other models - crew for big gunz, modeled embarked in trucks, etc.
And I somehow still need a few more.....

I have more grots crewing gunz than many people have models on the table total.
(My crew, by themselves, outnumbered a tyranid force in a recent game!)

That's a pretty sweet price for all that Sector Nachmund terrain + blooded. The Chaos Commissar & Ogryn alone used to cost that much on ebay not too long ago.

Just bought some paint including the Wraithbone paint I use so excessively and the Kantor Blue I don't use as much, but is almost empty. I think I might've spilled it or something a while back and can't remember lol

Ordered the old schoolish 2010 Fail Cast version of Lelith Hesperax from ebay. Real nice mini I like much more than the new one. I don't collect Dark Eldar but It'd be fun to paint her.

It’s already an expensive month, as I made a massive payment toward my PS5, before I have to pay interest on it half way through September. New tattoo tomorrow (Saturday) which I’ve already paid £180 toward, but am likely on the hook for more, as it’s a full colour piece. Then I’m having my hair and beard done (no, really) the weekend after. Plus like, food and bills and socialising.

It’s not like I don’t have a mountain of stuff to be cracking on with.

I’m not not even buying further Spoopy Homeware. That’s now uncharacteristically tight fisted I’m being.

Oh, and I need money for Petrol to get to and from work, because For Reasons, they’re demanding we sacrifice hours of our own time, and for me around £240 in fuel to come in twice a week, despite the periods we all Worked From Home we collectively smashed it.

MCP - Loads of local folk play it. I've had one demo game and can't anyone to agree to another. "We should definitely do that soon".

Marvel Champions - for solo play because I'm not super flexible when i can get out.

Rumbleslam - I've seen that you can play this solo, in a way, and it will fit on a small table and doesn't need scenery. I'm thinking I can take this to the pub and trick some non nerd pals in to giving it a go.

Those guys were awesome. IIRC the same line had some go cart servitors soon. I always felt like GW took a lot of inspiration from it.

Though of course we know the GW sculptors never take inspiration from anything, they swore to that in court after all.

Sigh! I broke my promise and bought two High Elf Prince boxes from eBay, so I can one day, maybe, complete my Prince Alladhiir Alkanthos mini I began, maybe, a decade ago. Maybe more. I got the new Heresy box and picked up some additional mk6 marines to utilize the new heavy and special weapons. Just waiting on lascannons/autocannons.

Yesterday my Cicada battlemech arrived in my mailbox.
My goal of having at least 5 of every mech (1 for each of the 5 main factions) from the 3925 technical readout book is now complete.

Last night at the shop I picked up the Comstar box containing the Flashman & Crocket - the final two 2750/Comstar mechs needed to have at least 1 of each.

18 Clan mechs & I'll call the collection complete.
(I rarely use the Clans, so 1 of each tonnage + an extra 60 ton will sufice)

Before they vanish for good, 3 Start Collecting! Khorne Daemons.

Just bought a whole lot of things like Vallejo texture paint, astrogranite Debris as I've almost run out of it, and some more magnets. Also, a pair of magnifying lenses which will be interesting to use. Also ordered another new Autarch and a few more Windriders off eBay which saved me quite a lot of money.

Got a bunch of Variags of Khand stuff for Middle-Earth. 2 boxes of infantry, one 2-pack of cavalry, and a King on Chariot. I wanted more cavalry but they are kind of scarce on eBay at anything resembling reasonable prices. I also got a set of Battle Systems terrain for possible use with Necromunda.

Bought some Warp Spider proxies and Eldar heads from eBay. Would've liked to buy some Fire Dragon proxies and an awesome Lelith Hasperax proxy buy decided to save a for a while first. My backlog is also still too big.

Not a game purchase as such, but a hobby related one:

I was building my Deimos Rhino and realized I want some sort of machine to deal with cleaning up tread bits! Those treads have gaping mold lines running across the entire lenght of the tread, and manually sanding them was starting to seriously bum me out.

Few hours of research later, I pulled the trigger on a Dremel Stylo+. Didn't take very long to find out that the sanding stones included with the set were totally overkill for delicate sprue plastic, so got the 320 grit finishing buffers (product number 512S IIRC) with the Ezlock thingamajig and presto! My Rhino treads are sanded and assembled already

Can cautiously recommend a Dremel Stylo+ with the 512S finishing buffers for cleaning up plastic vehicles & terrain. I've kept the speed at 1 for now, will try running @ faster speeds later (fast speeds aren't recommended with plastics since they melt easily). The Stylo+ runs really slow compared to bigger Dremels, which is a big plus when working with plastics.

I received a Wowstick for my birthday. Interesting little drill...although I doubt I will use it for metal as I am not certain if replacement drill bits can be found.

I then ordered a couple of fine detail brushes and a Scale75: Scalecolor Artist - Skin Tones Paint Set I wanna try to get more serious about painting faces, layering rather than going the GW route of base paint, layer paint then wash then layer again and high light.

I'm torn with regard to the magic cards. On the one hand I do like Tyranids and I like that MTG have done their own art, its not just GW's art recycled, cropped and shrunk down.

At the same time its £60 (or best part of) at most places for the single regular deck.

The sprue also has has weapon lockers and other random gribblies, which will be just wonderful for Zone Mechanicus/Mortalis terrain.

I sold a bunch of leftover Chaos models and bought myself the Leagues of Votann army set. I'm planning on selling my Space Wolves army to help me pay for the rest (not to mention free up my valuable storage space for the space dwarves).

Assuming stock levels are accurate, I believe I have managed to pick up:

My original has been missing for 3+ weeks & in that time I've looked everywhere for it.

Of course now that I've spent that $$ & torn the shrink wrap off, the original will surely turn up.....

I rounded out my 15mm Greeks.

With the addition of companion cavalry, elephants and the most ubiquitous mercenaries (Thracians, Galatians and Skythians) I now have what I need to field Greeks from a 650 BC hoplite army all the way through to 63 BC with Late Seleucids.
Only once I have painted them though.

I still need to round out my Classical Indians to play the all the options though.

My most recent game purchase was Persian Gulf, Third World War Game 4 by Game Designers Workshop.

I've been wanting this for a long time...like since 1986. So, nice to have it at last.

In miniatures world, I picked up more plastic and glue to continue making Chaos Rhinos for my 2nd ed. army. Bought some Noise Marines on Ebay to that end. I have a thing for buying lots with broken models. They're cheap, and with 25+ years of bits lying around, replacement parts aren't an issue.

I've tried to be good this year - though I did pick up a bottle of resin and some resin filters since I'd basically run out of both and 3D jake had a bit of a discount.

Otherwise its been a bit of a kickstarter season for me - at least 2 6-8mm model campaigns (one done and Lazy Forger has one next month) and Draco Studios doing a huge book of lore and dragon stuff.


So that hasn't really left much to be tempted by that I can afford.

You get 3d jake up there with no customs? Nice. They had 14€ PLA of a brand I haven't tried yet so I got some gray and brown.

I'm remarkably good at the moment. Haven't bought anything since I wrapped up my Warmachine Mk4 armies. Nothing at the moment I want to spend time painting. I'm sure that will change soon.

Zombiesmith had a sale so I picked up a couple of Quar 28mm skirmish starters.

Bought an STL for a Vampirella model I plan on having these people 3d print here in NZ and paint it as a present for my dad as he was a big fan of the comic when he was young. She's pretty large so it'll be an interesting challenge indeed.

Bought several boxes of ASOIAF stuff.

Rules wise, I got three skirmish game texts: Frostgrave Ghost Archipelago, Stargrave, and Five Parsecs from home. I was also very tempted by Enderrain, but I missed the discount period, so I decided 3 rulesets were plenty of reading for now.

Model-wise, I fed my recent, nostalgia-induced hunger for metal miniatures on a number of holiday sales from small companies.

A pair of the X-mas Imperial Fist battleforces (for the Heavy Intercessors; I've already sold the Aggressors!) plus the Escher vehicle cards.

A bunch of misc bitz to refurbish some ancient (2e/3e era) squads of Death Guard I inherited a few years back.
Some arms, bolters, backpacks, & a handful of shoulder pads.
None of the modern bells & whistles, just the essentials to get the models/squads complete/playable.

I bought some more Scale 75 skin paints (I really like their paints more and more) and Some Mantic Sci-Fi Terrain Crate stuff like doors and screens and such.

I haven't bought it, but I'm considering purchasing some Bolt Action boxes to use as proxies for my Angaran Chronicles TT Skirmish game (as the continent of Angara is in a similar time as our 1940s). Are Bolt action minis good? I might have to convert a few to look like elves and such, lol

While doing some Christmas shopping I came across a # of cheap 1/50 scale die-cast trucks - tow trucks, fire trucks, modern SUVs, classic 50s style definitely-not-Chevys....

So I picked up long bed dump & one of the not-Chevys.
Soon my Grots will have 2 new trucks.
$20 well spent.

The not-Chevy will definitely be a ride (it's too cool not to be)
The dump will technically be assigned to the MegaArmor Warboss. But he'll never ride in it & it'll be modeled full of scrap/loot/bitz. It's more for army theme than practical use.
And since I rarely play Nephlim I don't have to worry about starting the WL mounted in it. Not sure where the pts for it will come from though....

Whirlwind Scorpius and the new Kill Team cards for me. Probably the last mini related purchases for me this year, unless those beakie Ultramarine resin heads get released..

Some more scale 75 paint in tubes and some Abaddon Black and Aveland Sunset as they're running out, most importantly I bought some 25-millimetre scenic city bases from Infinity as 25 millimetre GW Zone Mortalis bases are impossible to find here in New Zealand right now and after playing quite a bit of Space Station Zero and using Mantic terrain a lot 25mm seems more practical than 32mm bases lol

Frustation with brush care led to the purchase of a tub of soap called "The Masters" Brush Cleaner & Preserver. It seems to be working, although I've yet to test it on two new fine-detail brushes so we'll see how it goes...

Also decided to give the AK acrylic paint range a try and I like them. Thumbs up.

I really need to get down and check out Langden sometime. I've used the GW in Ipswich for years on and off, but never checked out Langden. Just a pain that its a good 50mins by car or 1hour by train to get there.

Oh, Flames of War! Forgot about them, I want to use WW2 minis of sorts as proxies for my Diesel Punk/Fantasy TT Skirmish game how good are their minis? I don’t think they do specific ANZAC equipment, but most of their British stuff can be used just fine with the right unit markings as it was all common gear. I did some Kiwi tank destroyers a while back and just painted on the silver fern insignia.

Managed to secure a set of Rohan and Isengard dice from an indy. Might have been the last Rohan set in Europe.

The Grand Vestibule (finally), some 15mm trees for Flames of War/Team Yankee, some 25mm village ruins for AOS, which are really nice.

They just put out "Malachite" versions of their ruins terrain.

And they've now got Mars versions of their rocks and escarpments.

I am going to see how long I can go without making a gaming related purchase* this year.
So far I'm at 2 days.

*excluding glue.
It'll be hard to build through my backlog/pile-o-shame if I can't buy more glue....

Got a Knight-Lancer for HH for about $130 cheaper than FW off EBay

Well, I made it 15 days into the new year before buying another game related thing.
I had to order my Boxing Day Ghoul King before the deadline.

Bought a bunch of 100mm bases, and 4 HH armigers. Should be a good start to the army

Ordered some 3d printing of my Angaran Chronicles characters I dropped and broke a few weeks ago. Raleas Effernitti, Jelcine, Wilom and Emilia as well as a Voidspawn D&D mini as it's a perfect proxies for a Jaroai.

Bitz ordered 2 sprue of the Boarding Action wall terrain a few days ago.

Primaris Psyker and Heavy Weapons Squad.

Ordered two boxes of Raveners, one Eldar Vyper, and one Eldar support weapon platform. Those are direct-only stuff that I couldn't get at my local stores, so got them from another not-so-local store (in a different province). Paid less taxes doing so, so still saved some I guess .

Also came in free with a GF9 line laser! It wasn't actually free, but it was cheaper to add that (a 10$ item) to reach the free shipping threshold, than to pay the shipping itself (13$)

Some loose 6th Ed. Cold One Chariot crew models. I now have an extra overhead spear bit in case I find a copy of that body again.

Probably the last purchase before the price rise, I went to one of my LFGS and got me a Wraithknight and a Wave Serpent to round out and finish my Eldar army for the forseable future.
