These are my favorite types of conversions; subtle posing that make models more dynamic or lifelike. Anyone can swap a weapon, but this guy's pose adds a tonne of personality to the whole model. Great job!

Yes - ground-up pastels mixed with water to apply then sealed with varnish. May have used Tamyia too.
Also did some wash techniques with oil paint & did some heat distortion on the exhaust but it's hard to see on photos.
A lot of the techniques came from the Forge Wolrd book. It is now my bible (sorry God)

A Hetzer is rather small but has a similar profile. That particular vehicle in the picture is in fact a West German Bundeswehr Kanonenjagdpanzer which entered service in the late 1960s.

Man! The Imperial Guard are very tempting... They're so much easier to relate to than Space Marines:
Space Marine: "Thou hath shot my arm off. Now prepare to meet death..."
Imperial Guard: "My arm! Medic!..." tears flow freely as his muscles begin to spasm "... Don't want to d-die..." he collapses on the ground for the last time as his legs, and bladder, give way. Automatically Appended Next Post: Listen to this! GW said at Games Day Chicago today (25th July 2009) that they WILL produce a full plastic Imperial Guard range (in time) INCLUDING different regiments. Well, I think I could hang on for a bit longer...

I'm a bit of a noob at this as I've only recently got back into some 40k after about hmm 12 years The reason I ask is because they look a hell of a lot like the Marine from the original Doom PC Game which I am very much a fan of - I've painted up a normal Space Marine to look sort of like the Doom marine but its not quite the same...

31st Valonian Naval
autocannon conversion (all the autocannosn are like this but i haven't painted them yet )
I'm not a fantastic painter so i like to keep my guys simple but here are some of the naval infantry guys, with modified lasguns. I use lascarbines only because they "count as" shotguns and are easy to distinguish from the lasguns
and some guys with camo fatigues to break up the simple paint scheme. Also, none of the bases is done yet currently still 2 more squads and 5 chimerae on hold.
I tried to make the camouflage more natural looking by breaking up the paint scheme around folds and seams as it would in real life. This seemed to work surprisingly well and i'm quite pleased with the result
