See,the over all impresion of this army is the main reason I like it,it shows alot of thought on the part of it's creator, and more so it's not "just another " SM army.
Of course this is just my opinion..but again I say well done.

When you go as far as creating almost exact copies of Nazi propaganda, and trying really hard to copy the swastika without actually copying it, I'd say it's too much.
...anyway, moving on!
This army...my god, this army. It's atrocious, it's absolutely hideous, it's quite possibly one of the worst armies I've ever laid eyes on. Nicely done.
I like how you went the extra mile and even got Forge World bits for this army. It's so utterly ridiculous and yet so much time and money went into it, it's insane. Good luck on the auction, I'd love to buy it myself but I don't have that kind of cash.

You painting is very very good! I love that you chose an army that will cause major reactions to everyone that sees it! Not offensive, yet still painful to look at. Yet, you must stare at the artistic skill put into it. Makes the brain melt. What I would not give to take this to a RTT and have all soft scores maxed out by default!!! Genius. There is a fine line between genius and insanity, so a famous dead guy once said. The line with this army is definitely not straight. Take that as you will.

VERY well executed. Seamless lady-boy conversions, realistic shading, great freehand, and the vehicles... ah, the vehicles. They're what really tip the scales into the 'awesome slathered with awesome-sauce" realm for me. It's obviously a novelty army, but the vehicles have all the signs of use and wear, without being weathered and damaged like they've been blown halfway to hell for the past 5,000 years. The look of real use, coupled with the ridiculous decoration ("Purple Rain" really did it for me. I had to choke back a chuckle) makes the army silly, girly, and vain, but also PLAUSIBLE which, in turn, makes it even more ridiculous. Maybe that's just me. Either way, I say WIN. I really think they are a waste of your talent and time. I absolutely love the Eldar you did and clearly you have a knack for taking 40k visuals to new, interesting heights.
If you do "pretty marines" to earn your living and to please a customer or you just think this work is what you want into your artistic legacy - my hat's off to you.
But looking at it as work from a seriously talented artist - I personally think it's utter bollocks, not even pushing the parody and hearty pinkness into any new or bold direction. It has absolutely nothing to do with the imagery and spirit of the subject matter. Some years past some guy did NHL marines, people generally loved them. I thought it worked just about as well as if Ovechkin wore a Space Marine power armour mockup to games.

It's a silly army to look at but if you look at the list as a whole I think it could win some games. I've been to GMM's studio and seen that he has painted many many beautiful armies plus he can knock out an entire army in a very short period of time. Most of us would need six months to a year to produce an army as well modeled and painted. Seeing that GMM can quickly produce an army why should he not create some that are a variant to what we expect to see. So often I see people criticize an army when it does not fit into how they think an army or particular army should look. Lighten up please. They are toy soldiers. While I wouldn't buy this army that doesn't mean I can't appreciate the work put into it or fail to enjoy the intended humor.

Yes, no-one appointed me "sir handsome knight of the fair fluff maiden", yet I am titled for an opinion.
I'm a product designer by profession. I'd personally never design anything I don't think represents the values and best exemplifies, in a new valuable way the qualities of the product and possible brand. To me design is what, why and how, 99% in that particular order. I don't in ANYWAY doubt the attention. If Ferrari did a new design that in no way represented the heritage and their form factor, I'm sure it would cause an explosion of attention!
But Like I said, you do it for a living, my hat is off to you - I in no way mean to belittle what you do for a living. It's awesome that you can do what you do! I certainly don't!! Why are you reading into everything so aggressively? That certainly doesn't match the peace and love of the miniature subject matter. You said you do this a living and I should not look this from a hobby perspective alone, to which I agreed and said you have my respect. I further more commended you on your talent and other work.
I offered my apologies.

I love these models, and I think that in a BIG universe, there is enough room for them. And I mean that in ALL seriousness.
Let's the fair now; if we accept the 40K universe as a real universe which we peer into, we see armies like the Space Wolves and Blood Angels, and also see the Imperial Guard (in all flavors). There is a huge variation from the necessity of what an army has to be.
Look at sucessful historical armies - cool dress uniforms aside, they have all looked very similar to their contemporaries. This is an issue of practicality - something which 40K does not seem to need.
So, I think the idea of a chapter of Marines who eschew traditional imagery of butch masculinity and go for a more "Fabio" style is entirely realistic and in keeping with the Imperium. If I were a guardsman and some of these chaps turned up, I wouldn't think they were pansies. I would think they were 8ft tall killing machines with very beautiful armor, and an emphasis on heart imagery.
Heart imagery has been used in many places and by many people; crusaders made use of it, referencing the sacred heart of Jesus and the immaculate heart of Mary. While this army was born out of a silly idea, I think the final execution is, just about, close enough to serious to fit into the insanity which is 40K.

I feel the sudden urge to paint up a Company of red and yellow Marines, all armed with power bats and angry faces. And then throw them into battle against these Marines.

A good analysis, but the overall "Happy sunshine fun time peace-friends" attitude of Pretty Marines kind of kills it. But worry not. The people that Troll about folks doing meme armies are the ones that don't know the referances, have no ability to accept crude humor, or are just jealous because the joke army turned out better than their own serious projects. I love this army from a conversion standpoint. Though I do despise Pretty Marines as a Chapter

Wonderfully built and painted, I only wish you made up your own "out of place" marines instead of dredging up some crud from 4chan.

And just think, there are millions of people out there who are thinking exactly the same thing about you for even having miniatures to put on the table.
Uh, I mean, grown men playing with toys they hand painted themselves...yeah. Nothing gay about that at all.

Those are gorgeous. I am a big fan of purple, but you dont see it a whole lot on Space Marines.
Just Emperor's Children and Soul Drinkers...both traitors.
It's a beautiful paint job, and the conversions are masterful.

The vindicator made me lol. Great army, makes me want to start work on a blue-skinned smurf-themed ork army.

Soul Drinkers aren't traitors! The Inquisition and Adeptus Terra just thinks they are. They still fight for the Emprah!

Yeah Slaanesh gets away with Lavender a lot more easily than loyalists

I think this army is hilarious !
I think it'd be even better if it laid the smack down on someone at a tournament..
Alas, they are just 'pretty' to look at..

My Wife just happened to look over my shoulder as I was looking at the pics and said she would play if she had an army that looked like that.
Technically excellent work, not my cup of tea, but nicely done. Also, I would rather face off against that army than any of the bare plastic forces that are so common.

Wouldn't you be afraid for your wife, though? Considering how seriously some people take their fluff and how most consider joke armies to be an affront to the hobby or them personally, I wouldn't be surprised if one or two people were willing to go to blows over it.

AshAxe you are about the 20th person to tell me that, you would not believe how many wives love this army.

Awesome technical skill. Pink is very hard to pull off without looking too much like Pepto-bismol (or other countries equivalent).
I'd gladly play against it.

I like it! It's so NOT grimdark! One needs to break from tradition so as not to choke on it... (My Russes have pin-up transfers and are called Naughty Lola and Suarabaya Jenny to help carry a Cabaret theme )

Not a bit, I would be more concerned for her opponent as she is very, very competitive.
We play a game of toy soldiers set in a fictional universe. Really, if someone wants to fight over how someone painted an army, then that someone needs to grow up and seriously re-evaluate their priorities.

I just realized what this army reminds me of - the notion of the complete man from Samurai legend. We have beautiful people doing elegant things with a real sense of aesthetics who are ALSO deadly warriors.
I love this army, I really do. I think with very minor tweaks this could be an official Chapter which fitted perfectly into the canon of 40K.

I agree. Minor tweaks. I mean, look at the fluff. The Emperor's Children weren't too far off from this (y'know, before the whole 'turning to Chaos for no real good reason' thing happened)
