Post by: Bash the Bosh

Ladies and Gents,

To keep this thread an open discussion for me personally I've renamed it. I will be posting pictures of my gangs, the fluff behind the characters and also my limited building ability in making my urban Necromunda terrain. Any and all posts are welcome and I will gladly accept any and all constructive comments and guidence. I am relatively new when it comes to Necromunda and my Escher gang are my true 'first' gang. Any tactics, advice, ideas, jokes, banter, pics are all welcome here provided they conform to the mighty ruling of Dakka.

This is my special place within Dakka

Also guys, when the floor is full please use the bin....

1) I think so
2) I think so again
3) I'd say low setting personally.

All of the above just my opinion, of course.

Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Though I'm going to wait for a few more answers before commiting it to gospel.

I could be way off here, since all my experience was before the new rulebook.

I think you alternate hits not wounds. So if you hit with #1 and 3 attacks they could be figured to wound with that weapon.
I thought the pistol counted as a generic hand weapon in cose combat. (maybe the first attack was a shot, but afterwards you would just be using it to bash the other guy's skull in.) I have to dig up all my old rule books.
So if you do get a shot off, then I would say you could choose your setting.

Sorry, I am not any help either, since these are my opinion based on a fading memory. MAN I miss Necromunda.

@boogeyman,

Any help is awesome. The new rulebook is the same as the old rulebook, except it's integrated with the sourcebook and the painting amd modelling guide. Also the new rulebook is riddled with spelling mistakes and typos so its handy to have a copy of the old rules. I wish I actually spent the time to play Necromunda properly when I was younger. It was the first game I played but my parents (WWAAAYY back in '95) convinced me to play 40K because there was more stuff in the boxset.

Oh how they were wrong,Necromunda is THE way forward.

But anway back OT, how we've been playing it at the moment is to use the 40k way of fighting which is to count pistols as an additional CCW. Only specific CCW (knives, swords, chainswords etc) will use their own characteristics and special rules in close combat.

But this why I'm asking you lot if there is a different way or if I'm missing/misinterpreting the rules.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/04/14 20:25:02

Post by: boogeyman

After a little research, I realize I forgot how close combat worked. I forgot you compare scores and the difference is the amount of times you hit. So, yes the weapons would alternate. I think you are playing it right that they are considered as the extra hand weapon. Everywhere I see, it just says that they can be used in cc. However, they do say they can either be used to shoot in the shooting phase or be used to fight with in the close combat phase. I would think they would refer to it as shooting instead of fighting in cc. So if they are just being used as a hand weapon, I would use the model's strength for determining wounds.

I would say that you use your model's strength to figure out "to wounds" for all pistols.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/04/14 22:25:36

Post by: Bash the Bosh

boogeyman I'm glad we're on the same wavelength. So pistols can be either shot in the shooting phase or you declare a charge in the movement phase and benefit from the '+1' attack for having two CCW in CC. There it was that easy. I'm happy with this arrangement. I wouldn't want my Gang Leader dispatching dirty Orlocks or Delaques with a plasma pistol in CC anyway, she gets the chainsword on 'em

I'm going to keep this thread open to further my quest for knowledge in all things Necromunda. Anymore feedback about the whole CC issue, keep 'em coming.

Thanks Dreadnote and boogeyman,stay golden

The only thing I will add is that if your leader is also carrying a basic, special, or heavy (I know she can't, but I thought I should include it anyway) she can't get the +1 bonus to attack.

I can back you on killing the orlocks, but delaque were my first gang, then ratskins, and then almost all the others too. However if I were to start over again, then Escher would be number 2 or 3 for me. My delaque gang was the "Ghosts of Darkness" I pictured their graffiti marking their territory to be GoDs territory. My eschers will be the Twisted Angels, T&A for short.

I need to play again.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/04/15 07:52:32

Post by: Bash the Bosh

I had Delaque when I first played, even had the lascannon heavy. My mother sold them along with loads of my old 40k including my 'BloodBowl' boxset aswell in a car-boot sale because I kept forgetting to clear out the attic when I moved out.

But I started afresh with Escher. I'm doing pretty well in our campaign. The other two play Delaque and Orlock (Both have gang members that have bitter emnity towards my gang members)hence the hostility.

Your idea behind your Delaque gang sounds awesome (GoDs territory). You've given me some ideas about the whole graffitti thing. As for the T&A...

Post by: boogeyman

Doh. I fortunately still have all my old stuff. I just need to find the time and the friends to play. I don't remember exactly how each ganger was equiped, but this is a rough estimate of my
Ghosts of Darkness
Leader (Boogeyman)
Boltgun, autopistol, chainsword = 195
Heavy (Wraith)
Heavy stubber, shotgun w/ manstoppers = 205
Heavy (Daemon)
Flamer, Autogun = 120
Ganger (Specter)
lasgun = 75
Ganger (Shadow)
Autogun = 70
Ganger (Spirit)
Lasgun = 75
Ganger (Phantom)
shotgun, manstopper = 75
Ganger (Shade)
Autogun = 70
Juve (Spook)
Auto pistol = 40
Juve (Haunt)
Auto pistol = 40
Total = 965
I never actually played with my TnA Eschers. I need to figure out names for them. Do you have any ideas for twisted angelic names?

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/04/15 18:18:30

Post by: Bash the Bosh

Looks like a solid, shooty gang. Love the names, though I did look twice at 'Daemon',best not let the Arbitrator patrols hear that one

As for TnA names....hmmm.....I'd consider looking up strippers names to compliment such fine ladies. Or goth chicks have some pretty awesome names too.
This is my gang after a few encounters with Orlocks and Delaques..

The Butcher Barbies

'Bad Chick' Roxy Tyra
Plasma Pistol,Stubgun,Chainsword,Frags,Knife,Skullchip=240

Princess
Heavy Stubber,Autopistol,Knife=195

'Mad'Betty
Powerfist,Laspistol,Knife (Sometimes armed with a boltgun if I feel the need to)=175

Jessica 'Sniper-one'
Lasgun,Stubgun,Knife (She has WS4 and Marksman skill)=85

Lydia
Autogun,Stubgun,Sword,Knife=90

Miss J
Shotgun(Manstopper,Solid,Scatter)Stubgun,Knife=85

Sugar
Powersword,Autopistol,Knife=105

Sookie
Stubgun,Club,Knife=45

Tera
Laspistol,Club,Knife=50

Lara 'C'
Autopistol,Sword,Knife=75

Sookie and Tera started as Juves but have since grown up.I replaced them with new models, freeing up my old juve models so I can hire some more meat shields. I find my gang pretty good in CC. I do lack firepower but Princess and Jessica do a stirling job of protecting a flank while my lovely ladies do what they do best.

P.S. I forgot to put what position they are .Bad Chick Roxy Tyra is the Gang leader and Princess is my Heavy. The rest are all gangers.

Nice.

Lots of stubguns, I never wanted those, but can't remember why. Isn't there house specific starting weapons now or something like that?

Does Sookie date a vampire?

I think you need a Spice to go with Sugar. (maybe her younger sister)

I like the gang name. I almost went with something else like the Demented Dames or something like that, as long as it had double D's.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/04/15 18:58:10

Post by: Bash the Bosh

Thanks. Yeah the houses each have a 'default' weapons list. After your first battle (Providing the gang survives) you can send one ganger to the trading post to buy a weapon not on your house weapon list, but you have to give up your chance on the rare trade chart.

hehe you twigged at Sookie. I named my juves off 'True Blood' as it's awesome.

'Spice'...I like it....can definitely go with that. I guess my new juve is now named (just need to hire her now)

As for the DD's........ +1 on that

I'm going to post some pictures on here later tonight of my gang. I'll have to re-name the thread to appease the MODquisition.

I've decided to name Princess' heavy stubber 'Rampant Rabbit'.....

Heh. Don't mention that around my wife, she'll tear you a new one about how it's a heretical abortion because it doesn't resemble the book series at all and they changed all the characters(her biggest thing with this is how Tara is a successful business owner in the books, but an angry slut who can't hold a job in the show) to typical Hollywood fare to please the lowest common denominator.

The author is Charlaine Harris (I think). I haven't actually read any of her stuff though just started catching the True Blood series on On Demand.

on the Rampant Rabbit.

As for the Rampant Rabbit, I need a way of writing it on the stubber.....hmm...may need to dig in the bitz box for a suitable substitute.

I'm planning on making three such towers. This will form part of the residential district of my Necromunda 'Council Estate'. I'm also making some public vending machines (such that you'd find on the London underground). Also here are the pictures of my gang. Apologies for the poor picture quality, I need to have a word with my cameraman...

Post by: boogeyman

I got my foam board just sitting under the bed.

Are you going to make the apartments/towers so that you can remove stories/floors? So you will be able to take the top two tiers off to move models on the first floor.

Nice looking gang. I would be ashamed to put mine up since I am not that good of a painter and those were my first ones. I will have to dig them out anyway and see what I can do.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/04/16 18:27:31

Post by: Bash the Bosh

Yeah I'm making them modular so that each floor will be accessable. Not sure how, I'm going to Google up some ideas. I know some companies do printable templates, but I don't want to spend £30 on a PDF when I can make my own on a much more simpler scale.

I'm upset that my camera is not doing as instructed. I need to get a new one anyway, my camera has had a hard short life.

See what you can do with your Delaque. I'm sure your painting skills have improved since you first painted them. My painting has come along massively since being on Dakka. My Escher would never have looked as good as they are 8 months ago. I stilll go on the P+M blogs and steal ideas all the time

No dramas Dreadnote...

Sookie is from 'Black Scorpion'.She is part of a bundle of 5 female wild west mini's called 'Tombstone'.£8 for the five

Tera is also from 'Black Scorpion'.She is a mini on her own called 'Cop Girl' £3.00

Lara 'C' I can't remember where I got her from. She's a mini called 'The Adventurer'. Based heavily on Lara Croft.Hence the name She was £7.00 IIRC

My gang leader is obviously 'Mad Donna Ulanti' but I'm hoping to replace the stock Escher with non-GW mini's through casualty replacements etc

Hope that helps

Well.....wasn't today full of ups and downs.

UPs-Norwich City got promoted See you in the Championship next year. And my new heavy arrived today from Heretic Miniatures (Pics will be later).

Today three scenarios were played today exclusively between My gang (The Butcher Barbies) and my friend's gang (Hans Landa's Pirates I think. )

The first was a rescue mission for the Pirates. I captured one of his gangers in a previous gang fight. It started with Bryan (my friend) rolling 3 on 2D6 for his attacking force. Not a great start. I got 6 sentries. Awesome. I'll smash him in the first turn...oh so I thought.

Obviously my girls had either just painted their nails or had been watching 'How to look good naked' because they were determined to either look the wrong way or look 3 inches in front of them. Also Bryan had picked three insanely hard Orlock gangers who where picking their they carefully through the gantries to come get his rather beaten friend.

Anyway, Sugar decided to finally switch on and raised the alarm with Bryans Orlocks just feet away from the prisoner (they were on the floor below)

Bloody combat ensuied, with both my CC girls taken out of action (Sugar and Mad Betty) for one of the Pirates. The prisoner was released and started to sprint away with another ganger, leaving one behind to play rearguard as Roxy Tyra (my leader) and Sookie came bounding in to start swinging handbags (full of house bricks!)

Shots sparked off the steel plating as the two Pirates made a break for the table edge. But Miss J had other ideas, sending a man-stopper shell into the prisoner's back, taking him down.

The swirling combat behind ended in the last Pirate being dispatched by Roxy Tyra. The Pirates failed their bottle test and my girls could get back to watching 'America's next Top Model'....

In the post sequence, the Pirates CAPTURED Mad Betty (HOW??) so I had to grudingly give up my prisoner to get Betty back. Other than that Sugar earned herself some pretty scars and my gang made some good cash in the territories. I also keep trying to snitch on the Pirates to the watchmen, but they keep hiding evidence.

Second encounter was Scavangers.

All started well, with Jessica's aimed shot punching a hole into the Pirate's ratskin scout chest (only at 32" ). But it only downed him. Princess opened up with the 'Rampant Rabbit' but failed to hit anything (I guess the vibration occupied her mind )

My CC girls Sookie,Lara 'C',Tera made a run to the middle of the council estate (My two mock up apartments playing their part well). Lydia and Miss J moving up through the left flank, loosing off a shot but only spooking a Pirate out of his daydream. Roxy and Sugar, covered in aeons old dust from the vents, found their way near the Pirates heavy and a few other gangers. Mad Betty fell through the ceiling of the first apartment and to her surprise found a box of loot!

The Pirates moved swiftly, the leader Hans Landa loosing off his last bolter round, taking my ratskin scout clean off his feet. Princess suffered at the pinpoint aim of the Pirates heavy. Roxy and Sugar both found that they were exposed and had to hit the deck.

Roxy dusted herself off, and swiftly ran to smash the Orlock who shot her square in grinner. However, the Pirate had other ideas fighting some chick with a killer reputation and a chainsword, and decided to run off, Roxy's chainsword scratching the back of his armour as he ran. Sugar thought better of it and stayed were she was.

My ratskin scout, cold and alone, laying in an expanding pool of his own blood, died. It was a bad day to be a ratskin.

The Pirates pulled out all the stops with the shooting. Miss J,Princess,Lara 'C' and Sugar were all levelled by trained shots. Hans Landa expended his last Laspistol power-pack hitting Lara'C'. The worst was yet to come.....

Roxy, all fired up, clambered up the ladder where she saw Aquilla, the Pirate whom she had been shot by way back (The second game we ever played in the campaign).
Deciding that this was the opportunity to kill him good and proper. She charged him, slipped and speared herslf on her own chainsword (rolling double 1). Aquilla softley placed the barrel of his shotgun to Roxy's temple, looked away and pulled the trigger....

By now the Butcher Barbies where suffering, and seeing the wounded Pirates ALL get up with just flesh wounds, Mad Betty took charge, hollering orders to get the crates back to the hideout. Sookie,Lydia and Mad Betty all made a sprint for the table edge, making it safely. Miss J and Sugar got up slowly, still bleeding, but alive and skulked off back to the hideout.

Yes...Roxy Tyra was killed, rolling ANOTHER double 1 on the serious injury chart. All the other girls made full recoveries. My ratskin died also. That I wasn't bothered about but my leader....Aquilla....I'm going to enjoy turning you inside out....

Last game was a *yawn* gang fight.

The Barbies, now under the command of 'Mad' Betty, had only one thing on their mind...revenge. Jessica, after taking down two Pirates in the previous battle, had just finished modifying the new silencer on her rifle when she spotted Aquilla in her sights.Exhaling slowly, she pulled the trigger, the beam of the lasgun burnt through Aquilla, leaving him prone on the deck. The Barbies, fanned out along the south edge of the council estate, moved like they had a purpose. Sookie and Lara 'C' both dropped out of the vents near the Pirate heavy.

The Pirates, moving cautiously through the industrial buildings, exposed themselves to get better aim at Lara'C' who had sprinted across the gantry in bloodlust. Lara'C' soon fell under the weight of fire and was taken out.

Jessica, moving to find another target, saw Hans Landa.Again, her practiced aim taking the Pirate's leader straight out of action.

The Barbies, being women, decided to be akward and not present targets of themselves. The Pirates, desperate to find something to kill, moved into positions that made life too easy for Jessica. There was no stopping her this time,as her last shot rang out, greeted with the satisfying spray of crimson mist as the Pirate's heavy slumped to the floor. The Pirates, deciding that killing the Barbie's leader previously was enough for bragging rights, bottled on the first test.

As for the post squence, the Pirate's heavy died of his wounds, and Hans Landa, beside himself for his defeat, hated Mad Betty for her gang's performance. The Bastard Aquilla lived....for now.

Lara 'C' was riddled. Her right leg would never be the same and she would have to limp behind Sookie from now on....

Today was action packed. Apologies for no pictures but I find it hard enough to keep up with the battles, let alone taking happy snaps. I brought a shed-load of new kit as I felt miserable and needed to spend (I guess thats what you get for running a female gang). So apart from new nail varnish and GHD hair straightners,I got Lara 'C' a new Chainsword and a Plasma pistol. Lydia got a new Lasgun,Sookie treated herself to a Dolce&Gabbana Powersword and I also got a new heavy, giving HIM (yes HIM) the 'Rampant Rabbit' (NO FUNNY IDEAS ),while Princess got a Melta-gun. Mad Betty got herself a 'One-in-a-million' Bolt pistol. After selling ALL my old guns and unwanted designer shoes and handbags, plus emptying my stash,I am left with 11 creds.....

Hmm,I think Princess will find a good use for that Melta.........deep-fried Aquilla anyone??

This is my new heavy. I'm calling him 'Adebisi'. I'm going to come up with some fluff as to why he is in an all female gang. Again sorry for the picture quality. I'm hoping to get a new camera in the next few days.

You need fluff to justify him in an all female gang? Seriously, look how PIMP that model is!

Either that, or he's the drummer in their Chick Rock band: totally token.

I guess I don't need fluff. I just wanted a BIG heavy. As soon as I saw him I brought him. He's armed with a gatling cannon which will be a 'counts as' heavy stubber. I'll take another pic to scale him against the rest of the gang. I'm also searching in vain for a non-GW female model to represent my Melta armed 'Princess',but they're all to skinny to fit the mould of a big, butch girly. I'll keep looking unless you got any suggestions?

Just caught up on the posts. I like the write ups.

That new model looks cool as far as I can see. As for fluff, just call him a slave of sorts. His name can be Bugsy (as in bunny ) or Harvey (as in no one will believe in a 6' white rabbit in an escher gang ) He is slow but knows his way around a gun and the girls like to have good "stock" around for their extra curricular activities, so he fits the bill. They pay him with said activities and he gets to kill people, what more could he ask for? Just ideas though. I had a friend that used the Escher heavy in his Goliath gang.

Good luck in making those filthy orlocks pay.

Thanks boogeyman. I enjoyed writing the reports,so I'll definitely be writing more. I'm re-writing my gang roster tomorrow so that will also be posted on here

I'm desperate to get a new camera as I need to take shots of my gang that do them justice.I'm getting a camera tomorrow in town then I'll repost pictures of my gang in all their glory.

Thanks on ideas for background. I'll be thinking of a back story for him while I'm painting him. I also have to base my gang. I've found some nice resin 'urban' style bases from ebay that will do nicely.

As for my terrain,I'm mocking up a pub at the moment. Need a good bar to defend/fight over in all sci-fi urban wastes. I'm thinking Moriarti's bar from Fallout3 crossed with the bar with the three-tit girl from Total Recall with a pinch of the 'Titty Twister' in 'Dusk till Dawn'

Post by: Bash the Bosh

Well thats another week over and done. I'll be posting on this at the weekends as its the time I do most of my gaming. So heres a debrief of my Escher gang 'the Butcher Barbies' shenanigans....

Today it was the Butcher Barbies against Landa's Pirates. The Delaque failed to show, no doubt scheming, so today it was border disputes with Escher and Orlock. First up, Raid:

The Pirates decided to go and give the Barbies a good kicking on their home ground. However, only four Pirates showed. Even the gang leader, Hans Landa didn't show. Aquilla did however, so my girls were on edge from the start.

The Barbies were all in close proximity of the gateway. Adebisi, the new heavy, stood vigilant on a gantry, over looking the other gang members. Out of the dark, beams of lasgun fire cut through the air. 'Mad' Betty, the Barbies leader, took a shot square to the chest from the bastard Aquilla. Sugar,Tera and Jessica were all taken down in a matter of seconds.

Chaos loomed. Despite the controlled shots of the Pirates, Lara 'C',Sookie,Lydia and Princess, sporting her new Melta, came running into the fray. Princess opened up first, obliterating the first Pirate in sight. Sookie sprinted forwards under the ancient construction, looking for blood. Lara did her best to keep up with her leg wound. Adebisi could only stand and watch the wounded Barbies scrabble for cover. Lydia took an aimed shot, forcing Han Solo (!) into cover. Miss J, loaded a manstopper shell into her shotgun, shouldered it and opened fire. The shell slammed into Aquilla, taking him down. The wounded Barbies managed to pick themselves up, except Sugar who still stuggled for air.

The Pirates decided enough had been done, showing the Barbies they were vulnerable even in their own territory. They ran off into the night, carrying an unconcious Aquilla on their shoulders....

Well, I panicked for a moment. The shooting in the Pirates first turn was flawless. 4 shots, 3 down and a flesh wound. I was lucky my ladies had their wits about them and turned up to see off the Pirates. In the post phase Sugar made a full recovery, as did Aquilla of the Pirates. Not much trade went on as both gangs where still smarting from heavy losses last week (Roxy Tyra was brutally killed and Jessica blew away the Pirates heavy, Miles Tarsk)....

The Watchmen were still not interested in outlawing anyone too...

Next game, Ambush:
Again, the Pirates were switched on and caught the Barbies with thier knickers down ( ). Adebisi placed himself defiantly in the middle of the dome, looking at the two Pirates who were taking up firing positions in the apartment blocks opposite. Mad Betty placed herself in front of Adebisi, knowing that preserving him would mean the Barbie's chances of survival would be greatly increased. Sookie,Tera,Lydia and Jessica held the rear. Sugar, Lara 'C' and Miss J held the front. The Pirates leader gave the order to move, shooting as he went...

The two Pirates drew a bead on Mad Betty and opened fire, the shots missing by millimetres. The remaining Pirates moved into position, including their new heavy, Stigluz, with his flamer. Jessica was pinned by a cheap shot from Aquilla, but she steadied herself from falling.

Knowing the threat the flamer posed, Sookie sprinted into Stigluz. Mad Betty moved forward, out of Adebisi's way, leaving the two Pirates in the apartment blocks horribly exposed. Sugar charged, but found herself short of Ran Pax, one of the Pirates. Adebisi's Heavy stubber barked out a nasty reply to the Pirates, taking out one and pinning the other. Princess aimed her melta at Hans Landa, but failed to hit him. Sookie grappled with Stigluz, disarming him and destroying his flamer. She then ran him through with her powersword.

The Pirates reaction was swift. Tera,Jessica ad Sookie were taken down. Lydia was taken straight out of action. Ran Pax failed to hit Sugar with his shotgun at less than two feet. Princess was knocked clean off her feet by a bolter round from Hans Landa. Things looked grim for the Barbies...

Mad Betty loosed off a bolter round, taking a Pirate off the gantry. Somehow he survived the fall. Miss J spotted him dusting himself off,so she put him down properly with a well-aimed shotgun shell. Sugar dispatched Ran Pax cleanly and easily. Adebisi opened up again with the Stubber, peppering the last Pirate in the blocks. Lara 'C',surrounded by dying Barbies, whacked her plasma pistol up to full power and took aim at Hans Landa. He only saw blinding sunlight as the ball of plasma slammed into him.

Seeing their leader fall was too much for the Pirates. Grabbing their wounded and dying, they made off into the underhive. Aquilla survived yet again.

In the post phase, Princess lost her right eye. Sookie was dragged off with the Pirates, gagged and bound. Lydia had lasgun burns which weakend her right arm. The rest of the girls made good recoveries. At the Trading post, Lara'C' manged to find a Bionic eye for Princess and a flak jacket for Adebisi. Now all 'Mad' Betty needed was to come up with a plan to get Sookie back.....

Excellent report Bash. I am waiting for Aquilla to get his. You know the Pirates are paying off the Watch. Stinking Pirates.

I have some good news though on my end. I stopped in the shop yesterday and came across a couple of guys playing Necromunda. I am digging up my old gangs and looking over the new rulebook to make sure I create the gang correctly. I think I will be getting a game in next Friday. Woohoo! Looks like the Ghosts of Darkness will be haunting the Underhive once again.

I forget... How do you strip the paint from old models?

Thanks alot boogeyman. Yeah the Pirates are literally getting away with murder. They're the campaign's hedge bandits,as Bryan (who owns the Pirates) enjoys picking the scenarios which allow him to dictate the battle. It's only through my ladies being resouceful and awesome in CC that I'm coming away with small victories. It'll be good to have the Delaque (no gang name as of yet) come out to play next weekend (They haven't fought in two weeks, though they did take 3 fatalities in the first day).

As for stripping paint, I use Nail varnish remover which contains acetane( I'm sure thats how its spelt).

Awesome to know the GoD will be back in the thick of it. You'll have to let me know how you got on Friday. Please feel more than welcome to post it on here. In fact I insist

So after the drama with my old camera, the machine spirit has finally given up and died. So the Adeptus Mechanicus came through for me and provided me with a nice shiny new one with macro. So without further delay, here are the Butcher Barbies...

Well things just seem to get better with every encounter....I think not.

The Campaign (I still haven't thought of a name yet) took a series of turns today. The long absence of the campaign's Delaque gang (The Coiled Serpents) took to the Heartsease estate to earn some much needed respect. First up though; The Butcher Barbies against Landa's Pirates: Rescue

The Pirates had been holding Sookie for a few days now. Despite being sore from the last beating she got, Sookie remained defiant and hopeful that the girls would come and set her free...

In amongst the settlement that the Pirates had made their hideout, six of their number remained on guard. Despite their vigilance, Mad Betty led Miss J,Princess and Sugar through the shadows, less than thirty metres from Sookie. Jessica had orders to provide fire support from the far end of the settlement. With her silenced Las-rifle, she was in a prime position to take out the Pirate sentries...

Jessica shouldered her rifle and fired. Her shot didn't make a sound as it took the first sentry out of action. Mad Betty rushed forward with Sugar in tow, Princess and Miss J hanging in case it all went wrong....

The Pirates saw the Barbies rush across the open ground , alerting the others who had been out patrolling. Hans Landa came rushing in metres from the advancing Barbies. Shots rang out from sentries on the overlooking gantries. Sugar was taken down, blood seeping down her white armour.
Mad Betty sprinted up the nearest ladder, laying eyes on Sookie for the first time in days. However, her elation was short lived as she was gunned down by the Pirate watching Sookie. Princess turned around, aiming her melta-gun at Hans Landa but failed to hit him in the dark. Jessica, over two hundred metres away, drew a bead on another Pirate. Her Las-rifle aiming true, levelled the silohette on the raise floor.

Princess was pinned under the weight of fire from the oncoming Pirates. Miss J screamed in pain as she was hit in the face auto-gun fire. Sugar dragged herself in cover and tried to stem the bleeding...
Jessica instantly recognised the limping murderer that was Aquilla. Her Las-rifle recoiled as the beam took Aquilla off his feet. Princess tried in vain to stand under the fire of Hans Landa and his cretins, but she fell down, blood oozing from a dozen wounds. Sugar got up unsteadily, looking at the ladder that Mad Betty had tried to climb earlier.
She didn't get that far. Hans Landa turned his Bolter onto her and put a round into her back.
Jessica took another look through her scope, saw the Pirate Han Solo, and put him down with another flawless shot. But the losses were too much for the Barbies. They could still hear Sookie's cries as they dragged themselves back to the hideout...

In the post phase, Miss J had to leave the Barbies, after she was left blind and deaf. Mad Betty,Sugar and Princess manged to recover. Mad Betty found Hans Landa and managed to negotiate Sookie's release. The Barbie's took themselves to the hideout to workout where its all going wrong. The Watchmen left the pub, still not interested in the claims made by Mad Betty....

The Coiled Serpents decided,in all the confusion, to launch their own sneak attack on the Pirates. In a bold move to earn some respect, Viper led his gang in a hit and run attempt to rob some loot, which so happend to be in the high-rise buildings. All went well for the Snakes and they were about to make a break for freedom when Frank Du Boer, the Pirates new heavy, opened up with his Stubber and took down two of the Snakes in one sitting. The Coiled Snakes bottled, but enjoyed the bravado of taking the fight to the Pirates. It was only when Viper took a head count that he realised that Link, one of his gangers, was missing....

It didn't take long to find out where he went...

In the post phase, casualties from both sides had an assortment of injuries. The bastard Aquilla,as damaged as he was, still got away with his life.Link of the Snakes was captured and tortured. Viper immediately got his guys together and headed off to the Pirates hideout once again....

In the second encounter, all of the Snakes turned up to find and free Link. Link was being held in the high rise flats, broken and bloody. The Snakes, aside from Stubbs, the gangs' heavy, made a break for the main door of the tower block. Bloody combat and short ranged shooting took place. Both the Pirates and Snakes were bloodied but once again the Snakes failed to hold their nerve and had to make a break back to their territory, leaving Link to the mercy of the Pirates....

So, another day of bloody revelations. I'm now another ganger down and with only 47 creds in the stash, I'm going to struggle to find a replacement and kit her out well enough to keep up with the rest of my ladies. I've also lost my top spot in the gang ratings. Hmm, maybe I should approach the Coiled Snakes with a plan in mind?

Yes Bash, thanks for the reports. That is what I really liked about Necromunda, the campaign takes on a story of it's own. When I was playing consistently, we had about 6 players, but only 3 that played regularly. We ended up making second gangs (all outlanders). We also rolled up special hired guns and kept track of what happened to them also. It gave it all a more personal feeling. We even put up a hit list, so one gang could put out a hit on another gang or ganger. It was good times.

It is just a matter of time before those pirates get what is coming to them.

@ ghosty- Yeah its been awesome watching the gangs grow. What makes me laugh is that the Pirates where the laughing stock of the campaign, having their original leader, Endor Ironfist ( ) killed by Princess in the third game of the campaign. They where also looking at going bust with a massive stash of 0 creds at their lowest point. But Bryan (who owns the Pirates) has done an awesome job of persevering and making the best of bad situations. Now they're public enemy No.1 and top of the leaderboard. But not for long....

@boogeyman- There's lots of trash-talk that goes on between the three of us (four next weekend!) about revenge and laughing at the Pirate's Starwars generated names (along with a few random names of dutch footballers and characters from 'Inglorious Basterds). Also with Rob (who plays Coiled Serpents), its certainly picked up in pace as he's a reckless genious when it comes to his gaming. I've only encountered him once so far so I'm looking forward to that. In the one encounter we did have Princess claimed one of his Juve's lives and Sugar is hated by Viper, the Serpents leader.

As for progress on the terrain front, I've nearly finished the 'Canary' pub (Its a shady pub not far from my parents house, its had a few murders and the police raid it once a month ) So hopefully it'll make its debut next weekend. Bryan (Username 'kharn') is building a row of shops, so I'll pester him to get some pictures up.

Those are some really good roports friend. Altough i do feel iam going to be picked on next game. But i'm sure Hans Landa will come up with a plan to hold off two gangs. You will also also have to get over your hate of Aquilla, he will not die, he has more injuries than your gang put together! That mates him hard!

Question 2 what gang are ya doing!

Post by: Bash the Bosh

@ghosty - Welcome back mate. Those trench coat wearing chaps are 'Outlaws' from Black Scorpion, I fell in love with them the day I saw them. So I had to have them.

The Outlaws will be used, strangely enough, as my enforcer patrol. The female models will make up another mixed-sex gang, using Van Saar house rules. As for names and fluff, hmm I'm working on that while I finish painting Adebisi from the Butcher Barbies..

NICE! models Bash. I also really like those outlaw (trenchcoat cowboys) models and thought of an enforcer gang right away. Excellent choice. And that predator is too sweet not to have. I may have to look into getting both of those.

Post by: Bash the Bosh

@boogeyman - Yes the predator mini is AWESOME. I'm looking forward to getting to grips with him. I'm thinking of green stuffing a death mask on him.

As for the outlaws, a few simple weapon swaps and they'll be all good as my 'counts as' enforcers. If you look at Black Scorpion minis, the character 'Sheriff Coburn' is going to be the enforcer Sergeant. They are currently out of stock but Black Scorpion have assured me they'll post him ASAP

Mr Gask, thanks for the comments. It's supposed to be an external air intake, hence the grilled box on the end, but saying that the more I look at it,the more it looks like an exhaust . The actual exhaust is poking out just underneath the vehicle (Last photo, just right of rear left wheel)

I think making up some rules for a predator in the hive of necromunda is waay too cool not to pass up. Plus, ive checked out the ogryn rules, and as cool as they are, i dont think the model fits the statline and special rules. The armoured vehicle looks pretty damn cool Go run down some Pirate bastards!

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/05/09 21:48:18

Post by: Bash the Bosh

@ghosty - Yeah the bodyguard rules seemed good at the time, but he just screams out for a bigger role in the campaign....I was thinking of using him as in a proper predator role, turning up randomly in any scenario between rival gangs, controlled by the Arbitrator, literally taking skulls and terrorising gangs. I'll muse over it this week and I'll post my initial ideas for C+C.

As for my armoured car, yeah I'm really chuffed how its turned out. It took me a while to start actually liking it, as its the first real conversion I've done in terms of scratch building parts. I have literally spilt blood building that thing. And so close was I to launching that gak-heap across the room. But now I've built it and painting it I'm really liking it. Pics will be up next weekend of it finished along with my Arbites.

Post by: boogeyman

I like it all, Bash. I have 4 of those shotgun arbites. I like yours better, for the variety and the armoured car. Have you thought about putting a dozer blade on it? I will have a look through my old "Battles in the Underhive" expansion book. I think there is actually something in there about a scenario with the "Predator" in it.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/05/10 10:44:24

Post by: Bash the Bosh

@ boogeyman - thanks mate. I'm on a serious trawl for more Arbites. I just thrashed out a deal for ten more in the dakka swap shop, and I also brought the GW Arbites patrol, which are a little more animated. So that will be 23 Arbites ready for the 'Assault on Precint 117' scenario that will be going ahead at some point in the near future! As for a dozer blade on the Armoured car, I'm looking at bashing two LRBT dozers together, I'll post some pics up in the coming days. I did consider using my Repressor Rhino dozer blade, but I'm rebuilding one repressor for this Arbites force, and the other is part of my DH Stormtroopers unit.

As for the Predator scenario, I can't believe I didn't look in 'Battle in the Underhive' as it's sat conveniantly on top of my cabinet doing nothing....I didn't even think to look in there. As I work away I can't read up on it till I get home. boogeyman if you can post the main bits on here I would appreciate it. It'll give me something to work with.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/05/10 14:15:27

Post by: boogeyman

I was wrong Bash. Its not in the "Battles in the Underhive" book, but that cool zombie one is. I did find it in that old "Gang War" magazine for Necromunda though, issue #2.

Basically they take a maxxed out Malcadon spyrer. This was their version, which is really close to the one I made too.

Predator = M WS BS S T W I A LD
_________8__4__3_4_4_2_4_2_7
Skills = infiltrate, ambush, dive, evade, catfall, jumpback, leap, step aside, killer rep, and nerves of steel.
Advances = thickened armour (4+ AS), motive power x2 (+2 to Movement already in stats), and Weaving spinners x2 (1 1/2 blast)
Wargear = respirator or filter plugs, photo-visor or contacts, and bio-booster.
That is actually 20 upgrades instead of 19, I think.

Mine had about the same stats maybe a 5 initiative. The skills were pretty much the same too. I had parry instead of step aside and marksman. I also lost the thickened armour and weaving spinners upgrades, but I gave him the orrus bolt launchers with a red dot laser scope on it and the monomolecular claws. I also gave him infra-goggles as part of his wargear.

They either dropped him into an existing scenario and ran by the arbitrator or like a gang fight with one gang against the predator. Some of his extra rules were;
"collecting trophies" = he would take out of action models back to his base, while carrying the ganger he could only move his 8"
"intense fear" = if a ganger is within 8" of a taken model they must take a leadership test. If failed empties his ammo into the underhive.
"near invisibility" = -2 to hit if the predator doesn't move.
experiences is 2d6 for surviving, +10 liberating a trophy, +10 taking out predator, 150 credits. if in a regular scenario all the normal experience is done also.
trophies can be liberated but are still out of action as normal. If they are still a trophy at the end they will need to roll on injury chart 3x ignoring captured results. This represents the predator taking parts as trophies.

I think that about sums it up. If it is unclear let me know. I am running a little short on time at the moment.
Oh yea. Definitely try the zombie one in the "Battle in the Underhive".

Thanks boogeyman

Motivation sadly comes and goes. I'll paint and game like a man possessed, then I'll stop for a few weeks. Then randomly pick up a paint brush and start again No idea why.

But yeah the new additions to 'Precint 117' have been primed. The rest just need to be washed and a few high extreme highlights and new bases and they'll be good to go. As for the Outlaws, which I brought two weeks ago, they'll be primed and base coated ready to join the ranks of 'Precint 117' as Auxillary Watchmen (They'll use Delaque house rules, considering they're low enough to hunt their own)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
So inbetween priming my 'munda minis and building terrain and work, I still manage to find some spare time to finally finish my Death Guard. A bit naughty going Ot in my own thread but once is allowed

So this is my Daemon Prince that has taken me just over 7 months to get round to finally finishing. The greenstuffing is a new endevour for me. But ruthlessly pillaging the other P+M blogs has given me more than enough inspiration to start some changes on him. C+C is more than welcome.

Nice. I have always been a fan of the demon prince model. The Be'Lakor, the Dark Master is one of my favorite models. I have thought about starting a warriors of chaos army just to have an excuse to buy it.

I am having a hard time making out its head. What I can see reminds me of a comic book character, I think his name was PITT (I will have to research that). Is he "flipping the bird" with his other hand kinda like your avatar.

Yeah the photo isn't that great. I'll take a better shot and post it on here.

Looks like a comic book character you say..hmm I'm intrigued to see said character. I just made his head up as I went along. As for flipping the bird no unfortunately. I have a running theme in my army of having 3 clawed powerfists/lightning claws/overly large monstrous hands. Again I'll post a pic so you can see. I preffered the vanilla DP to the actual DP of nurgle just because he's alot more versatile and it was cheaper on ebay than buying a nice resin model from Ultraforge or the GW alternative.

Be' lakor is a sweet mini though. Definitely a good addition to a new WoC army.

Well, I didn't think this was coming...

The Pirates handed back Link to the Coiled Serpents for the remaining creds in their stash. Viper, enraged at having to grovel to get his ganger back, stormed into the Butcher Barbies local tavern demanding an audience with Mad Betty. Hours seemed to crawl by as to two leaders sat in heavy disscusion in the dimly lit bar, discarded lho-sticks piling up in the ashtray between them. Eventually, Viper left, his face not giving any clue as to what had passed between the leaders. Mad Betty called the gang together, tipped back a shot of wild snake, and started explaining the plan....

'Gunfight at the OK Canary' - Storming the barricades Scenario...

So, enough is enough. The Coiled Serpents and the Butcher Barbies formed a loose alliance in order to raid the Pirates home settlement.

A few pirates where on guard, looking into the dim shadow of the underhive that lay before them. The pub in the centre of the settlement was alive with music and brightly lit from the flurescent signs. Hans Landa was admiring the view from his personal table. Life was good. The Butcher Barbies were beaten and almost broken. The Coiled Serpents had just coughed up the last of their stash to get that burnt wretch back. And that strange skinny fella, what did he call himself...Elder ranger? Eldar ranger? dosen't matter, for fifty-five creds, a hired gun with a needle rifle can join the Pirates so long as they toe the line. Looking past the Watchtowers, the butresses, the clearing in front of them, and into the underhive, something was amiss...there...that glint in the dark.Hans looked again, straining his eyes. Then....it all went black....

Jessica,Specs and Stubbs were on the far left, in amongst an old support tower. Jessica could see the whole settlement from her position. Adebisi and Lydia in the centre two floors up, overlooked the 'Canary' pub. Lara'C' and Token form the Serpents, were in the centre, ready to make the dash of death across the clearing. Princess and Tera were doing the same on the far left, Sugar and Sookie on the far right. The Serpents had the same idea. When the word came from Mad Betty, the Barbies sprinted, emerging from the underhive and into the clearing in front of the settlement. The Serpents did the same, keeping up with the agile Escher. Adebisi opened fire, the whirring of the chain-stubber drowning out all noise. Shots slammed into Hans Landa, knocking him from his chair. The Eldar Ranger saw the red-dot from Jessica's rifle, but that didn't stop a shot from her hitting him in the chest. Aquilla was wounded from a shot from Link. The Pirates fared well despite the amount of fire they had to absorb. Though some wounds were lost, most of the Pirates were simply staying down for self preservation....

The Pirates replied in good order. Tera was wounded, but still ok to fight. Hans Landa dusted himself off, enraged at having his pub shot up by the Barbies Heavy's indiscriminate shooting. D-Barrel of the Serpents went down, blood slick against his black trench-coat. Hans loosed off a shot, punching through Adebisi's flak vest and silencing the heavy stubber. Token went down screaming, putting the fear into Lara, who ran back towards the underhive.

The Barbies and Serpents still fought thier way across the clearing towrds the settlement, stray shots kicking up dust around Sugar and Sookie as they sprinted towards the hab-units,taking cover behind two large vending machines. Princess and Tera made thier way across the opposite side of the compound, finding one of the Pirates skulking nearby. Adebisi succumbed to unconciousness. Lara'C' held her head in her hands, trying to block out the noise. Jessica calmly shot the Eldar Ranger again, pinning him down. The Serpents opened up, flesh wounding Frank du Boer, the Pirate heavy. D-Barrel stopped moving, blood pooling around him....

The Pirates, strangely calm,co-ordinated their defences.Despite most of the gang being pinned or unable to find targets in the dim light, a few shots rang out, pinning the Serpents on the far right of the settlement. Frank Du Boer got up with a slight flesh wound. And the Eldar ranger, having ran out of ammunition for his rifle, nimbly jumped down to the second floor of the Canary pub. Princess was dispatched in a flurry of blows from Febri, the Pirates close Combat expert. He then looked Tera straight in the eye and smiled...

The raid was quickly bogging down into a full-blown war. The Barbies were already feeling the damage, with both heavies out of action,a flesh wound to Mad Betty and Tera wounded. Sugar sprinted into the first doorway she could get into. Sookie charged Ran Pax. Tera, already knowing the outcome, charged Keller. Jessica changed the power-pack on her las-rifle and fired again, this time hitting another Pirate across the length of the settlement. The Serpents, having already lost one ganger, pressed forward, knowing that momentum would keep the battle in their favour. Sookie easily ruined Ran Pax, then skipped off to find another enemy. Tera didn't fair so well, and was quickly scragged.

Aquilla saw Sugar run in front of him. Instinctivly he raised his lasgun and shot her in the back, putting Sugar straight down. Hans Landa turned his attention to Token, who, despite a fesh wound, still made his way to the front entrance to the pub. Frank du Boer, despite having two flesh wounds, was still in action. Febri, who wiped the blood off his sword, turned his attention to the wounded leader Betty.

Sookie charged Stigluz, the other Pirate heavy, but found herself staring into the barrel of his flamer. Dutch Jr of the Serpents was taken out, leaving the Serpents with little or no support on the right side of the compound. With only Sookie remaining on the right aswell, the whole flank looked to be crumbling. Lydia ran into the open to grab a container, praying she'd be fast enough to avoid being hit. Mad Betty, ignoring the rules of combat, shot Febri with her bolt pistol. Viper followed suit, hitting Febri with his Boltgun. Jessica hit Febri with her Las-rilfe. Keller, wounded and pinned, still drew breath against all odds...

Stigluz fired the flamer, but failed to ignite Sookie. She quickly patted out the small flames that caught her coat. Lydia proved too fast for the Pirates to draw a bead on.Febri, stayed down, still somehow alive. Hans Landa shot Token again, taking him down. The Eldar Ranger, drawing a exotic las -pistol, opened fire on Viper. Viper fell, making no noise....

Sookie slammed into Stigluz, not making the same mistake twice. Lara'C',seeing her friend in trouble, ran out to help Lydia. Mad Betty climbed up the ladder nearest to her, knowing that all to play for now was the crates. Jessica kept a sharp eye out. The Serpents were struggling to hold their nerve, with three out of action and their leader down.
Sookie ran through Stigluz for the second time in their meetings, and hid in a doorway, not knowing she had exposed her back to Aquilla...

Aquilla levelled his shotgun and opened up on Sookie. She went down...unscathed. Lara'C' rushed to fire a shot at Han Solo with her Plasma pistol on full power, but still failed to wound him.The exchange of fire between the Serpents in the underhive gantries and the Pirates on the watchtowers was thinning out due to casualties on both sides. Hans Landa stood triumphant in his pub, knowing that he had held his own....

Sookie screamed like a banshee as she charged Aquilla, the hatred of him killing Roxy still fresh in her heart. Lara'C' blinked in surprise when Han Solo dropped in front of her. She looked around and saw Jessica wave from the top of the tower. The battle became too much for the Serpents. Grabbing the wounded as they could, Stubbs nodded in acknowledgement to Mad Betty as they made their way back to the hideout. Sookie, bent on ending Aquilla, ended his involvement with the raid. Moving back she grabbed a box of loot on the way...

The Pirates were hurting now, with four out of action and two down. With so few numbers, there was little they could do to stop the Barbies running off with three crates of loot. Hans Landa stepped out of the pub, and looked around. The exterior of the Canary was pocked with innumerable bullet holes, las-blasts and scorch marks. But they had held....all that was needed was the local medicae and a good celebratory pint of snakebite...

Phew, that was a massive engagement. In total 13 gangers from all three sides were out of action. I'm sure Rob and Bryan will let me know the exact outcomes, but for the Barbies, Adebisi and Sugar both became partially deaf. While Tera and Princess both made full recoveries.

All I know is that the Bastard Aquilla still lives....

Aquilla still lives, making a full recovery! As did Jord Kodd, and Trec Febri. Hugo Stigluz only suffered a leg would to add another cripple to pirates gang. Mando Varik and Oberon Keler made full recoveries from thier flesh wounds! After the raid Hans lander brought Ceth Aquilla a chainsword, adding that it may prove useful against those combat experts from those Barbies.

Nice job Bash. It was an excellent read. I wonder if someone is going to suggest to the local bounty hunter about a certain bounty on Aquilla??? Sooner or later.. I am surprised pirates show such loyalty to each other and not run off to save their own necks. No offense, kharn.

@boogeyman - I'm so tempted to put a bounty on Aquilla. Rob (Plays Coiled Serpents) has made Boba Fett from a SM scout and gs'd a cape and helmet. May have to send some creds his way....

But yeah it was hard work trying to remember it all from last night. We started around seven thirty in the evening and didn't finish until just after eleven. All for one scenario!

I really enjoyed it. I seem to be pushing my gang further each time. I bottled after having one out of action and one down the first time I played. Now I'm having 3-4 out of action and a couple down each game. I'm looking forward to next week when my Arbites get their first taste of life on the Heartsease estate!

I will agree that the Pirates just refuse to give up. It's been awesome so far with the rivalries that have been building up, and it's nice to actually get to play underdog now.

What I don't agree with is Ceth Aquilla still drawing breath....

I really miss my old gaming group. We had a guy that had horrible luck with his first gang. He lost his leader early on and then lost another later. His third leader was ousted by one of his original juves. It made for a great story.

@ kharn; What is happening with all those missing fingers? I'm sure it is those damn Barbies, maybe you should just invest in some batteries for them.

boogyman! I dont know what keeps happing with my injury roles i'm going to end up with a load of cripples. It has been good with the stories developing with the gangs, mine being cripples, rob's snakes always ending up dead(good thing that he now has a medic), and bash always having horrific scars or injuries that force them into retiremant. I hope the pirates last a bit longer, but i think they slowly start falling apart unless i get some cedits for new juves/gangers.

As you have read the rivalries are heating up now, with the Butcher Barbies and Lander's Pirates fighting for top spot. The sun was shining, so the underhive went outside into the garden for Saturday's continuation of our campaign.

First up: Gang Fight, Butcher Barbies against the Coiled Serpents..

The Barbies approached from the south, the Canary pub right in front of them. The two hab-blocks to the far left, the ancient underhive foundations to the right. Tera,Lydia and Princess entered the pub, looking to sprint across to the underhive gantries opposite. Sookie, Sugar and Lara'C' went up into the vents hoping to find somewhere to drop down. Jessica went to the top floor of the hab-block, scoping across the ruined landscape. Clareece, finally getting the chance to earn her spurs, covered to door at the bottom of the hab-block for Jessica. Adebisi stood in the centre, along with Bandit, the Barbies new juve. Mad Betty held the right flank.

The Coiled Serpents struck first, with Specs pinning Adebisi. Viper and Token came up the right, trying to find Mad Betty. Flash and D-barrel tried finding a weakness on the left, staying out of Jessica's view. The rest of the Serpents moved to find good firing positions.

The Barbies responded well. Jessica's shot startled Specs, causing him to fall aproximately 15 feet (7.5" to the top of his head). Specs groaned as multiple bones broke. Clareece moved to the electric teminal box at the rear of the hab-block, knowing someone was coming. Mad Betty ran into cover, seeing that three Serpents where closing in fast. Sookie and Sugar dropped down in front of Viper, hoping to help out Mad Betty. Lara'C' dropped down on the second floor of the ancient contruct, looking to aid Clareece.

The Serpents struck back hard. Flash took out Adebisi, D-barrels pinned Lara'C', Sookie was wounded and Sugar was taken out. Dutch Jr survived Clareece's overwatch shot. Mad Betty was also pinned. The Barbies where having one of those days....

Mad Betty managed to keep it together. With most of the gang pinned or down, options were short. Mad Betty moved back towards the Canary, hoping to lure the Serpents to Tera and Princess. Sookie got up once again, knowing that three guns were all pointed at her...

Dutch Jr charged at Clareece, but failed to take her down. D-barrel shot at Lara'C' at point blank but missed by millimetres. Sookie screamed in defiance as she was gunned down. The Barbies really needed to hold on...

Mad Betty roared orders for the Girls to hang in there. She fired her Bolt pistol in anger at Viper, but missed. Lara'C' grinned in delight as she started up her chainsword and ran at D-barrel. Clareece, in shear terror at her first close combat, managed to beat Dutch Junior into a bloody mess. Everyone in close vicinity could hear D-barrel scream as he was cut down. Viper couldn't hold his guys together, and the Serpents slunk back into the underhive....

I was so surprised when Rob failed his bottle test. I genuinely thought the Barbies were for the chop. Just goes to show the luck is in the dice. In the post sequence, all of the Barbies made full recoveries, they needed it....

Next game, Scavengers: using 'The Heist' crates. Lander's Pirates against the Coiled Serpents.

The terrain stayed as it was, with the Serpents arriving from the north again. This time, Boba Fett joined the Serpents, looking for the reward on Aquilla's head. It started slow, with the Serpents and the Pirates picking their way through the underhive. Then all hell broke loose, with multiple casualties on both sides. The result ended in the Pirates failing their bottle test and The Serpents taking all the loot, which included a power-axe! Also, Boba Fett captured Trek Febri, who was ransomed back for 39 creds, the same amount the Pirates took off the Serpents for Link....

Last Game, Scavangers(again) with the heist crates(again). The Butcher Barbies against Lander's Pirates.

The Pirates, enraged at loosing all the loot, heard rumours of more goodies to be had. Hans Lander briefed his guys up good and proper. Mad Betty, knowing that morale was low, tried to drum up courage. The plan was simple, grab the three nearest crates and run. The Pirates had a different idea...

Shots rang out from the Pirates. Jessica, up on the highest tower, was hit, causing her to fall approximately 20' (9"). She didn't get back up. Adebisi survived being hit, his chain-gun whirring in reply. Stigluz ran towards the crate nearest to him. Hans Lander and two of his minions moved up on the left, to cover another crate.
Clareece and Mad Betty moved towards the nearest crate. Adebisi opened up on the nearest hab-block, taking down Frank du Boer and wounding another. Lara'C' dropped down from the vents onto a crate. Sookie and Sugar dropped down just above Hans Lander, hoping to dispatch him first time.

Things for the Barbies went really wrong, really quickly. It was obvious the Pirates were there to drive off the Barbies rather than share the wealth. Sookie, Sugar, Adedisi and Mad Betty were all taken down. In a parting shot,Clareece put Stigluz down in a spray of pink mist with a well aimed man-stopper shell. The Pirate's celebration's were short lived however....

In the post sequence, Jessica and Sugar developed old battle wounds. Adebisi was captured and ransomed back for 60 creds (House rule D6x10 creds for prisoners). The rest made full recoveries. As for the Pirates, all made recoveries except Stigluz, the Pirates heavy. He was killed outright. The Pirates called it murder, the Barbies called it justice....

So another action packed afternoon. I really don't know whats going wrong for me at the moment. My gang are either scraping wins or getting stomped. I think I need a word with Mad Betty. On the other hand, my new ganger Clareece is doing awesomely, dispatching two gangers in two battles, killing one!

Next week, more of the same

Excellent as always Bash.

Sounds like you guys always have a blood bath. Most of my experience is with the sneaky/shooting gang (delaque), so my advice would be to use your cover as much as possible. And when I say cover I mean the juves too. I usually broke my gang up into groups too. Maybe groups of 3 and one of 2. The problem I ran into is I started to run out of cover. My juves started becoming too good to use as shields or targets. And we all know the dice ruin all the best laid plans.

Keep up the good work.

One thing I love about Necromunda is the fact that in an hour and a half, the whole campaign can turn on its head, as it did this afternoon.

First scenario, Raid - Shoot up. Butcher Barbies Vs Coiled Serpents.

Jessica, Clareece, Tera and Sugar were chosen. The plan was simple, move fast, shoot to kill and get the feth out of there. Jessica would provide cover and make her own way out. The other girls were to make their way across the hideout.

Well...that was the plan...The Barbies had to make their way across the long edge of the hideout, where Sookie was waiting to lead them back to the Barbies territory. The Barbies started on the ground floor, hugging the very outskirts of the underhive.

Jessica loosed off the first shot, hitting Flash. He fell off the gantry, screaming. He didn't get back up. Tera, Sugar and Clareece stayed close together, sprinting across the hive floor.

The Serpents came out of the woodwork, dark flashes running across the underhive. Token appeared from nowhere and shot Clareece. As she slumped to the floor, Tera and Sugar ran back to Jessica's position, looking for any kind of leadership...

Jessica, swearing at Sugar and Tera, loosed off another shot, taking out Viper. Clareece still bled out in the darkness of the underhive. Sugar and Tera refused to move. Time was running out and the girls were still stuck were they started....

Bullseye, the newest addition to the Serpents, ran loosing off autopistol rounds at Jessica, forcing her to go to ground. Specs had other ideas, and shot Jessica. It was too much for Sugar and Tera, who dragged Jessica off into the darkness. As for Clareece, the last thing she saw was Token grinning over her before she passed out.

In the post phase, Jessica made a full recovery. Clareece however, was brutally tortured. She suffered multiple injuries. An arm wound, an old battle wound, chest injury, horrific scars and impressive scars. To top it all off, the Serpents dropped her broken body outside the Canary with a placard around her neck thanking Mad Betty for the 50creds it cost to get her back......

In the second scenario, I didnt really pay attention as I was browsing Dakka while the Serpents duked it out with the Pirates in a gang fight. I'm sure kharn will give a quick debrief as and when he gets on here. I do know that the Serpents won again, meaning that its getting to be tight at the top of the table, with the Barbies only a hundred or so points ahead of the Pirates gang rating and the Serpents gaining insane amounts of experience. New gangs will be making their debut soon, including Arbites.....

More next week

Thanks for the great batrep again!! About to start my campaign for real on friday, just been re-acquainting ourselves with the rules first.

Any thoughts on how aggressive to be at the beginning?

Ps. Still waiting on the terrain pics! (jk!)

Vitruvian - I know I forgot until we started packing up. Providing the weather is ok tomorrow with some good light, I'll get some pictures of what we use terrain wise.

As for starting out all I can suggest is COVER COVER COVER. It makes all the difference between two brand new gangs. Keep your guys in cover, think about which shots to take, and try and hire a new heavy as soon as possible. I run two heavies and I've never looked back. Again, think about cover.

Also when rolling for territories, hope to get tunnels or vents. They may not yield much cred, but the pay-off of being able to deploy gang members either on raised levels or the ground floor allows you to really put pressure on the other gang.

In addition, prepare to sacrifice Juves, thats what they're there for (I always keep a juve next to my Heavy stubber). And be prepared to get stuck in and start making bottle tests. Not saying needlessly throw your gangers into danger, but see how it goes. Yeah one or two maybe down or out of action, but the pattern can shift so quickly. Try and hold out if it looks like its going badly, you never know.

Thats it off the top of my head. kharn may have some tips on 'holding on with grim determination' as he has become accustomed to over the last few months.

Any other questions just give me a shout.

cheers bash.

I've been using juves real aggressively in the warm-up games so we should be alright there! Cover's actually been one of the biggest problems for me. I tried out a really shooty van saar gang but we filled a 4x4 table with 2 imperial city's worth of CoD (yes, the £100 ones!). thats why we need to make more terrain, it was too much cover, not enough height.

We actually already rolled territories, i got tunnels, but 1 player got 2 vents, another player got vents and tunnels and the other 2 got nothing!

Why don't you check out my 'munda blog. Just updated it after about a month, you can find it here:

Thanks for the advice

Once again, great rep. Geez..what a way to welcome Clareece to the underhive. Poor girl.

Great advice to, Bash. Juves and cover, pretty much the same thing.

I would have to agree with the tunnels or vents. I would even say vents is better for shooty gangs and tunnels better for cc gangs. I think why my first Delaque gang ended up being so good was because of vents and I got the medic skill pretty early in the campaign. I also started off with lots of juves which meant that every group of gangers had some kind of cover.

Vitruvian - I'll be watching intensely on your gangs progress.

Cities of death is all well and good, but you need height. We use two Outlander terrain sets, the Necromunda terrain set and a few scratch built housing blocks and of course the Canary pub. For litter and crap on ground level, we have the Outlander barricades, a burnt out car, toilet rolls and sometimes the odd Rhino from my display cabinet.

Other than that, good luck!

boogeyman - I know! Clareece is in a really bad way, but I'll stick with her, maybe get some bionics or she may level up and gain some stats back. I've used vents to my advantage, but I use it to deploy my CC girls. However the Pirates and the Serpents are getting wise to it, so I may have to shake it up a bit.

Watch out Bash and Kharn, this morning new blood in the form of my new heavy Punisher has joined the ranks complete with Mesh Armour and Token has taken that Power Axe as he now has WS5.

My new gang rating is 2309 so no longer underdog! Looking forward to next week and hopefully now I have 2 heavies we wont get any more scenarios where the roof can cave in!

good batrep, as always. In our necro campaign, I'm both lucky and unlucky. i got a lot of territories which produce a lot of creds, but i haven't got any vents or tunnels, which is very sad. I've got 3 settlements, drinking hole, friedly doc, and mine workings(with captured ganger working in there)

cheers.

Ahh Inspector gadget, fabled owner of the Coiled Serpents. So you're top dog now....

hmm, I don't know if I could bring myself to work with the Pirates...

This is going to get messy...

@Scrazza - its all about the dice rolling. Yeah you can get good, high cred territories. But tunnels and vents do add a good edge to your tactics.

@Vitruvian - could you swap weather systems? Its been pissing down on and off all day :( Hopefully I'll get some pictures tomorrow.

And the plot thickens....

Wasn't there a "double cross" scenario in the battles of the underhive expansion? Sounds like it might be a good 3-way for you guys.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/05/30 20:41:57

Post by: Bash the Bosh

@ boogeyman - Yes the double cross scenario. One gang are the dealers, another are the couriors and a third come wading in all guns blazing....hmm ideas are formulating.

@ Gadget - I don't think the Barbies and the Pirates would last 5 minutes in each others company...I mean, what if Aquilla accidently shot himself in the back seven or eight times...the Pirates would immediatley point the finger the the Barbies. Not good for business.

@ Vitruvian - lol don't worry pal, I was miffed at the crappy weather yesterday. Today hasn't been much better.

As for Aquilla, hmm yes accidents do happen. I don't know if he could suffer a melta-gun accident, knowing that the Pirates don't own a melta-gun and the Barbies do hehehe

How do rob, nice to see you on here now. I have just totaled up my gang rating, its now...........2275. So you are still top dog! I have hired a new heavy to replace Hugo Stigluz, he is Qardin Forr! Another name that is easy to remember in a fast paced game of Necromunda. As iam still painting my new gang, The 95th, i have armed him with a flamer and shotgun. Because i can't be arsed to put another weapon on him at the moment, plus iam saving up for a bolter for Lando Calisirran(who went up a level and got an extra attack!). I also need new gangers as iam having to roll for FIVE gangers with headwounds/old battle wounds, including Aquilla who has both plus a peg leg. The game i had againt 'inspector gagdet' just showed me that the pirates need new blood as they are becoming even more disabled. I lost all my best gangers out in the open because they can not walk far and Hans Landa decided it would be a good idea to take Token on in cc, something that he is useless at a then ended up up with a right arm wound to make him more useless with strength 2! He needs to hide more and use his BS5. Hans especailly likes hiding in the carany pub, which didnt make an appearance sat due to the rain.

Ahh, kharn, howdy. Good to see that the Pirates will be setting up a retirement home at this rate, with all the cripples you continue to employ

As for a 'Melta-gun accident' I was talking theoretically. I mean, you don't own a melta gun...and what if Aquilla 'happened' to burn a hole into his own back with a melta-gun. That would be really stupid on his part.

As for Hans Lander in MY pub, he'll be evicted as landlord soon enough...

But we do need to do something about the Serpents. We were here long before that wretch turned up....

Can't wait

What do you mean healthy! True my gang are nowhere near as knackered as yours, but the Barbies have taken their fair share of injuries, including 2 deaths. But we'll see if you can afford ANOTHER heavy when I send your newest addition to an early grave. How many heavies have I killed now? Two isn't it.....and a Gang leader.

We decided as a house rule that once down, said ganger could not be harmed until they either developed flesh wounds or went out of action.

But I'm not sure how long that will hold though. Rob(Gadget) has already tried it once against Bryan(kharn). But no harm came of it.

It's definitely going to get messy

Vitruvian - Yeah I'm slowly getting round to painting the terrain. I was just going to use the tesco box as a mock up, but seeing that the underhive is always collaspsing and reforming, I guessed that it would be ok to have a rickety housing block. Feth me that sentence was long

Anyway, the terrain will look alot better once I get round to painting it properly. As for the retro stuff, it's still good depite being 15 years old! I got it off ebay and the good thing is that its easy to put away afterwards, but I do prefer the look of scratch-built stuff.

Post by: Bash the Bosh

So after a long, long rainy Sunday afternoon, the local gangs of the Heartsease estate decided to re-affirm themselves amongst the pecking order...

First up: Gang fight - 95th Rifles Vs Patrol Mike-Three-Charlie (Precinct 117)

The 95th were new to Heartsease. And having carved out some small holdings, Sir Arthur Wellesly decided to earn his new gang some respect. And didn't they just....
Having just about enough of the gangs running amok, the Lord Justice himself signed the warrant for a new Arbites presence in the Heartsease region. Precinct 117 were warned to expect trouble....

The 95th came out guns blazing and in the short space of thirty minutes, one Arbite officer lay dead and another wounded. The 95th, though pleased with themselves at having bested Arbites, found themselves on the wrong side of the law...

First scenario for my new Adeptus Arbites and already, I had Officer Black killed and Officer West wounded. For their sucess, the 95th were outlawed and found themselves on the run...

Second fight: The Hit - 95th Rifles Vs The Coiled Serpents

The 95th needed creds badly to payoff the Guilders. What better way than to shake up the Serpents for some cash and maybe scrag their leader at the same time....

It didn't start well for the 95th. Only three of their number turned up for the hit. Sir Wellesly, Sharpe and Green. The Serpents got wind of the new guys and loosed off shots as soon as they saw the glint of bayonets in the dark. Viper, was quickly pinned by Sharpe's accurate shooting from the raised gantry. Despite Link shouting for help, the Serpents remaining gang members took their time helping Viper and his two minions.

A dangerous game of cat and mouse soon developed, with Wellesly holding his ground and Green chasing Viper around the back of the Canary pub. Sharpe kept his keen eyes open for the first sign of re-enforcements...

Wellesly saw his chance to take out Viper. Levelling his Bolter, he took aim and squeezed the trigger....missing Viper by millimeters. By now the rest of the Serpents turned up, and Stubbs peppered Sharpe, turning him into a bloody pulp. Green was taken down and Wellesly called it a day...

Sharpe's wounds were too great, and he died. Green made a full recovery, and Wellesly was left wondering were it had all gone wrong....

Third time lucky: Assault on the Precinct - Coiled Serpents,Lander's Pirates and the 95th Rilfes Vs Patrol Mike-Three-Charlie!

The time to hit big had come, but not without risks. Someone got wind that the Precinct had just taken delivery of new weapons and equipment, plus a shed load of creds to buy off snitches etc....

The three leaders met at the Canary. Viper,Wellesly and Lander discussed long into the dim twilight the main points of the plan. It wasn't going to be easy. They outnumbered the Arbites three to one, but with the Precinct being heavily armoured and three sentry turrets, plus a full garrison, the plan could go so wrong so easily.

The layout was simple.95th on the left,Pirates in the centre and the Serpents on the right. One man from each gang had a melta-bomb to breach the precinct doors. The Precinct had two turrets outside the main door, with a third on a tower in the centre of the Precinct.

The gangs moved quickly, trying their best to stay out of the way of the tower gun. Despite ducking and diving, some were caught. Major Stokes of the 95th was taken down by the tower sentry gun, Lando Calrissian was hit by an executioner shotgun shell. Choke gas fired from the Arbites into the hab-blocks blinded and confused both the Serpents and the Pirates. The 95th made good progress down the left, but despite their best efforts, some were still picked off by the sentry guns and Arbites.

The Pirates didn't fair well in the centre. Frank du Boer lay bleeding from stubber shells punching through him. Ran Pax made a suicide run to the vehicle check point outside the main entrance but was put down with disciplined fire. Link tried to rally the right flank, charging head on into the exposed side of the of the precinct. He didn't notice the bolt pistol stuck out of the window until it was too late....

By now it was going horribly wrong. Despite everything thrown at them, the united gangs could not shift the Arbites. One by one they bottled and ran, leaving the Precinct scorched and bullet riddled. It was a stark reminder that things in the Heartsease would change for ever....

Back at the Canary, things changed massively. The 95th paid off their debt to society and no longer being outlawed. The Serpents made a huge 10creds for their trouble. And the Pirates, well....After it emerged that two were dead and one captured, this was too much for Hans Lander. The time had come to end the Pirates' grip on the Heartsease. The Pirates were disbanded, leaving a power vacuum for new gangs to emerge....

Yes, the Pirates have been disbanded. Bryan has come to terms that having 5 gangers with head injuries and old battle wounds, plus an assortment of every injury in the rulebook, does not bode well. I'm surprised to say I will miss the Pirates, they've been an awesome enemy and a great laugh. However the 95th have arrived with a bang, with being outlawed, having one killed and assaulting a police station all in the first day...

So here's a big thumbs up to the Pirates

As for Aquilla...You're f ing lucky....

The Pirates have retired. A mixture of old battle wounds and head wounds does not help when fighting gang wars. Its already hard enougth to keep moving forward towards the enemy with healthy gangers, even harder when two of your best have to stop when they fail a stupidity test!

Hans Landa made the most out of a crippled gang. But i felt it was time to go to the old folks home. Aquillia having survived many attemps on his life from two gangs(one for vengance, and the other for cash) can now hobble around(and stop every so often when deciding his brain doesnt work) in a happy retirement safe from threats to his life.

So farewell to Landa's Pirates, iam sure they will be missed, there will probably never be another gang hated so much!

But there is now a new gang, the probably wrongly named 95th rifles! Lead by Sir Arthur Wellesly. Having being outlawed after thier first fight, they are now back on track. With the help of a Archeotech Horde they will soon be building up the credits to catch up with the power houses of the Heartsease Estate.

Kharn - can you stick up some pics for what you're using for your 95th? I know there's loads of stuff around, I actually use Napoleonics for my IG army, just wondering what you've got

these guys, for instance, are full of win. I'll be using Harper as Marbo:

Captain Roderick- i will ask Bash to take some pictures of my models on saturday, as i dont have a camera that is good enougth. Sorry.

You can find them at perry minatures: http://www.perry-miniatures.com/index2.html

They are under British 95th rifles Command and British 95th rifles Skirmishing. Hope that helps. As i said i'll ask Bash if he can take some photos for me.

I also like the models you are using, may have to get that Sharpe model as a new gang leader. Thanks.

I think the Harper model suits Marbo really well.

Awesome report Bash.

Certainly sounds like an eventful day!

Sad to see the Pirates go but i'm sure the other gangs will take up the slack! Does this mean that you're not going to be playing Escher for a bit?

Vitruvian - For the mean time. My Escher are are on a well deserved break.
Also, from the way the Pirates left the campaign, I'm a little apprehensive to send them into routine scenarios. I'd prefer to use them now for big one off scenarios.

@Kharn - I'm using Perry Miniatures Plastic British Line Infantry for Guardsmen, so I know what you're on about! Although it's pretty mean using all basic weapons in a gang, I've found in the past. Unbalances things somewhat. I need to get some of those metal Riflemen to put together a vet squad or two methinks...

I got those sharpe and harper models at home, but they are almost a full head taller than gw, Urban Mammoth and even the victrix models look like dwarfs next to them.

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/06/12 09:02:07

Post by: Captain Roderick

really? damn that's awful, I just ordered them. It's difficult to believe something can be more grossly overscale than GW...

Bash's Necromunda thread @ 2010/06/12 09:54:01

Post by: Scrazza

well, it's not so bad for gw models. they have the right scale, but sharpe is just a half head bigger, and you won't even notice any difference with harper when you compare them with gw models (hardly) but don't compare them to urban mammoth models, because they ARE a head bigger than Urban Mammoth.

this is getting out of topic, we should open a new topic for discussions about sharpe and harper lol!

Gents,

Apologies for the lack of updates. My son has been a bit ill over the last few days so we cancelled last weekend.

As for whats going on gang wise, I am the proud owner of 22 Adeptus Arbites, which means there'll be no shortage of recruits when the inevitable happens. Pictures will be coming of the WIP.

Also my new Vampire Counts army building is in full swing, with me building and priming 120 skeletons like a man possesed, followed swiftly by conversions of Black Knights, Blood Knights and Emperor Karl Franz! So alot to fit in before September.

So keep an eye out over the next few weeks. Lots more to come!

@Vitruvian - Yes I am

I wanted to start a new army, and after selling/swapping my 3000pts IG army (Fully painted I have you believe) and finishing my Death Guard, I wanted a new challenge.

So WHFB came along and offered me a new gaming system and a chance to build BIG.

hope you can finish your loads of handgunners, Vitruvian. My local gw shop manager told me the new whfb rulebook is twice as big, is that true?

Yes! Hopefully the gang wars shall continue this weekend. The 95th need to build them selves up again. They have been second place this week to my new Bretonnian army, so they need a run out now.

There is never enough time for gaming. Even if you could play once a week that is only 52 times a year but with Holidays, family events and etc that is cut down by 10 or so.

When the people of Heartsease thought it was finally safe to venture outdoors, in the distant depths of the the underhive and familiar shape emerged from the shodows........... Hans Landa had returned. This time he has come for revenge.

Hans has brought with him a new gang, but not without old faces. Joining him is Ran Pax, a little older and more experiancd. Also after the murder of his farther, Ceth in the old folks home, joins Earl Aquilla. Taking up his farthers weopons he comes for revenge, and lack of anything esle to do. Also possiliby back from the dead is Hugo Stigluz, taking his place a heavy, he has come back from whatever hiding place he was in for everyone to belive he was dead. Finally in the gang are all new gangers but all want to join Hans Landa in his quest for revenge, they are Ganger Franco, Ganger Crazy George, Ganger Mission Kessler, Ganger Wezz Sonter, Juve Stev Tull, and Juve Victor Haasa.

Landa stared his journey for revenge today in two clashes on the outside of the Heartsease, trying to force his way back through. Moving through the outer ruins Landa's Revenge came across a new gang in the form of The Scalp Hunters ( being Delaque this has something to do with being bald). The first clash (both were gang fight) was a hard fought trying to remember the rules game, both sides cautious. Both gangs had a territory that gave them an advantage( Landa's Revenge had Vents, The Scalp Hunters Tunnals) were we could deploy three gang members above anywere above ground(vents) or on ground level(tunnals), but whoever got first turn got the gained the real avantage in being able to pick the better places and dominate the board. Landa's Revenge got first turn in game one, forcing The Scalp Hunters to spread out. After several turns of swapping fire Hugo Stigluz was hit, taken out of action with a left arm wound. Franco was shot in the head, but lived and now is a bit stupid or mad. Earl Aqullia not as expirianced as his farther was shot by the Scalp's leader ' Grey' Snake Skin defending the rear. Ran Pax seeing this used his new boltgun to wound Ghosty, a juve to green to hide behind a wall properly. Hans Landa was defending the right on his own from two of the Scalp's gangers, Boom Shot and Scope, when his boltgun clicked empty but from nowhere Crazy George came screaming in firing his autopistol into Boom Shot, following was Victor Haasa aiming widely hitting nothing. Landa with this support pulled out his laspistol and shot Scope before he could flank him. In the centre and cut off after Stigluz's wound Mission Kessler aimed a hot shot round from his shotgun at a Scalp juve taking him down in flames.

Both sides had three down, it came to passing bottle tests and Landa had to leave. The second game was a one turn win for The Scalp's with three of Landa's men, including himself down. Failing the bottle test they left to rethink, replan, and return for revenge. Again.

Men,

So today, after a year of stocking up on back-alley hair-dye and enough nail varnish to sink a battleship, the Butcher Barbies came storming back into the Heartsease estate. And by Joe, what an entrance they made! With the absence of both juves (I forgot to bring them!) being sorely felt, Mad Betty grudgingly dipped into the meagre stash to hire a Ratskin scout to bolster the gang's numbers. With ten members, including both Adebisi (Heavy Stubber) and Princess (Melta), Mad Betty was confident that the ladies (and one man) could easily hold their own against three (yes three!) other gangs in an all out scrap for loot counters. So here is the account of the big scrap between the Butcher Barbies,Landa's Pirates, the Scalp-takers and the Renegades.

Having found themselves on the south edge of the complex, Jessica 'Sniper one' climbed up three levels to get a better view of the battle-space. Sookie,Sugar and Princess endured the dark and dusty air-ducts, ready to provide support where needed. Mad Betty, Pocahontas (the scout) and Tera held the left flank with Adebisi providing overwatch.Lydia and Lara 'C' moved up the extreme right of the Barbies.

Looking through her sights, Jessica soon found she wasn't the only one enjoying the lofty heights. Directly across from her, one of Landa's cretins perched himself even higher, but rather than carrying a precision weapon, he had hauled a heavy stubber up with him. And in the far north-western corner, one of the Scalp-takers had the same idea, enjoying the high ground also sporting a heavy stubber. The poor renegades found themselves sandwiched between the Pirates and the Scalp-takers, and under the barrels of two heavy stubbers and Jessica's hunting rifle!

The gangs quickly jostled for supremacy of the heights, with the Scalp-takers heavy expending belts of stubber ammo into the tower opposite, knocking the Pirates heavy clean off of his feet, but running out of ammunition himself. Jessica, releasing the breath she had been holding, started dispatching gangers with clinical precision (In fact she downed five gangers, taking two out of action and only missing once!). Lydia and Lara'C' along with a very dusty Princess, put massive pressure on the Pirates' left flank, forcing them into overwatch for fear of being taken by surprise. On the right flank, the Scalp-takers forced Tera and Mad Betty back, but not without Mad Betty putting a Bolt shell between the shoulder-blades of the Scalp-takers Gang Leader, putting him down for most of the fight. Tera didn't have time to scream when a bolter shell (at four inches in range!) slammed into her, taking her straight out of action. Token, a Scalp-taker juve with a power-axe (!) had been making a nuisence of himself, darting across no-man's land under a hail of fire from both the Pirates and the Barbies, but it wasn't long before Mad Betty's Bolt pistol left a smoking hole in his chest. Seeing his juve turn into pink-mist was too much for the Scalp-taker's leader, who turned tail and ran off to the safety of his gang.

Sugar attempted to reach a crate in the centre of the complex, only to sustain two flesh-wounds on the short sprint across the gantry. Princess immolated Earl Aquilla, son of Ceth Aquilla, whom of which the Barbies could never exact their revenge. But it still felt good to burn a few stinking Pirates, no matter who spawned them. The Renegades, being on the opposite side to the Barbies had bottled early, taking a single crate with them. Their leader, Captain Weller, deciding a crate was enough, leaving a man down and another out of action. The Scalp-takers pushed hard on their left flank, knowing Mad Betty held the Barbies' left all on her own, as Adebisi was pinned and Pocahontas spent most of the fight being riddled with auto-gun shells (even though he did take out Crazy George, a pirate suffering from stupidity today).

With Only Tera out for the count, and Sugar stemming the bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds, the Barbies' morale was high. Not so for the Scalp-takers or the Pirates, who both bottled, taking a total of three crates between them. The Barbies cleaned up, with six crates in the bag, and with Tera making a full recovery, all was good. After ditching Pocahontas' body, the Barbies had a healthy 167 creds to stash.

Mad Betty could feel satisfied that natural order had been restored, with the Butcher Barbies residing top of the pecking order. All that remains is to snuff out Hans Landa. And that little turd Earl Aquilla. Until then, the hardest choice is red or pink lipstick? Decisions,decisions....

Action returned to the Heartsease this weekend with two small battles between the sclap hunters and Landa's pirates. Unfortunatly the Barbies where on parental duty.

The first game was gang fight. This was a fast placed and bloody battle due to the terrian set up, with the pirates going out on the attack taking out ghosty in the first turn causing Silverballer to flee. Holding the high ground and most of the good cover this seemed a good start. But Grey snakeskin had other ideas. using the tunnals which the pirates forgot to guard, Snakeskin, Boom-shot, and Beast came at the Pirates right flank. With only the frenzied Franco on overwatch, the three Sclap Hunters kicked open a door into a courtyard and took down Ran Pax and Hugo Stigluz from the high positions.
With the shock of the assualt Landa stood fast in the centre shouting orders at Haasa and Tull, the juves to put pressure on the Scalp hunters. But the Pirates shooting was off, and when Earl Aquilla, holding the left was gunned down by a heavy stubber the Pirates fled. Losing 3 gangers in 2 turns was to much, those dam Scalp Hunters would not be wouned or stay pinned!

The second game the Pirates went on a scrag mission to kill Ghosty a reason only known to Landa. Maybe he did not like the colour of his power axe. Six gangers went, Landa, Kessler, Crazy George, Aquilla, Ran pax and Wezz Sonter. Watching over Ghosty were Snakeskin, Potshot and Beast.
The target was located in a small courtyard with windows looking in, and a friend either side, snakeskin at the door. The Pirates went straight for Ghosty, Kessler wounding him with a hotshot round, but they needed to kill him in combat to make sure but he was down for now. Sonter then shot Potshot who lay bleeding blocking Beasts view, but he took aim at the shape of Ran Pax wounding him. Snakeskin unfazed kicked open the door a shot Landa in the chest, putting him out of action, a waited for the Pirates charge. Crazy George frenzied and unafraid of the cold looking Snakeskin meet him in combat, swinging his sword like a frothing loon he took Snakeskin to a draw. Ran Pax bleed out, Mission Kessler point blank shot Beast with his shotgun, but Beast proved to be a beast a stared back with cold eyes. Aquilla meanwhile went around the back to flank, forcing the heavy stubber to empty his rounds on his speedy form.
Snakeskin then bested Crazy George who was distracked by Snakeskin bionic arm. Mission kessler was shot by beast and Sonter by the recoved Potshot, leaving all hopes on Aquilla for this suicidal mission. Unfortunatly the arriving Silverballer pinned Earl feet away from the wouned Ghosty. Earl looked around for support, seeing none, moved away into the shadows.

Hope you enjoy. Kharn.
