Yes, I did but he looks so cool with yours and that great paint scheme. Every time I check out your growing Mob I get more anxious to build the Black Templorks. can't wait to get to Washington and get started.

Cant wait to see those guys when you start them. Gonna be sweet.
bigfish wrote:oh my those mega Nobz look epic! and the dread looks cool as well
Thanks. Starting to make progress again in my mob. Still have lots to go.
lol, how can I do better when I don't know what 'progress' is? My vocabulary circuits keep throwing errors when I try to find out. From the way everyone mentions it I'm sure it's something I should have in my force.
Forgive me Dakka for I have been slacking. It's been 2 weeks since my last post.
Been putting the hobby off for the past few weeks. Been enjoying the summer. But the ol' wifey has picked up a stomach bug from some where so she have been napping and praising the porcelain god for the past 2 day.
SOOOOOOOOooooooooooo. I got alittle bit of work done between fluffing her pillow and holding her hair.
First up is Frawg's BK MANZ. Just have to find a box and he is ready to ship.
After that I have the skorcha plus 1. Got board one night and tossed this one together. Got the idea from Iron Dog Studios I believe.
But I have done some painting on my Ghaz conversion. About half way done with it but wont post anything on him till it finished.
No update on the trukk yet. Kinda got pushed off for now. I have a year to get it done so no rush there.
And verily it is written, whilst the wives be praising the prince of porcelain, the husbands shall cut and chop and paint a bit, until such time as their toy soldiers look just so.
Skorcha's looking good, where did the toy tank tracks come from?
Ice to hear Art35. Hit me up with your new address when you get there.
That's a great idea Matt. I'll do that.
Well where is a nice update. Got some warboss pics for ya. The Face is just about finished and got lots more work on the body to do but here is what I have so far.
Artsoldier35 wrote:He looks totally epic! Awesome in fact! Great job and your Brazen Klaws are turning out fantastic.
Slow but getting them done. Hope to have the force at 2000 points by the one year mark.

Boss is looking very cool, and the size comparison pic looks great, these guys are going to look great out in force.
If I ever decide to do a Mega-Dread I might get that Gray knight whatcha-ma-thingy and convert it over. Seen some nice ones so far.
Thanks everyone for the comments. Gnna get a work to date group pic here soon. I wanna make a board but not sure how many Brazen Klawz i'll have yet and how big to make the board.
Alright like I said I would post a group pic of the finished mob. So I have one of those for ya guys to see.
Also pull an old ork I started in May and gave hm some love. Not finished but his armor is done besides the battle damage.
Started some painting on one of my skorchaz and even chopped up a deff kopta to make a buggie. The fins I salvaged I think I'll use on some 'uva bikez I started a long time ago.
But not a whole lot of painting as of late. Been kind of lazy. But almos have all my Black orks finished. After this one I worked on today is finished I'll have 12 of 18 done.
Would be 12 of 20 but traded one to Art35 and have to send Frawg his still. His is in the pic also. It the one in the bottom left with the chain pk.
Well I hope you all enjoy.
And monkeytroll if your reading this I want my grots back!
Arakasi wrote:You know what would be awesome? Da Brazen Klawz fighting alongside Da Dark Angelz, Da Warbosses kompetin' ta destroy da most beakies/'umies!
That would be sick. And I might get the chance to ride in one of those trukks of yours. I would love to see the face of the marine player when he saw 2 marine themed ork armies coming at him.
monkeytroll wrote:Da Brazen Klawz are looking mighty fine Colour scheme works well across the range. Boss is looking good too.
Still no sign of them I'm afraid. I'll send some sandwich-board grots out with messages. Your grots can read can't they?
Thanks. They can but they are ashamed of it.
KingCracker wrote:Yea the army is looking really good man. I like how everything is a bit OTT but stops right when it hits Orky enough

That tire swinging ork if one of my favorites. I have made 2 of them to date so far. Art35 got the first one I did as a trade. Like it so much made one for myself.
Anvildude wrote:Ha! Whut'z dat wun'z gubbinz?
Its an ork swiss army knife. Its got a little bit of everything. Need to come up with some special rules for it. but that will come later.
Artsoldier35 wrote:Awesome! Great looking army you got going there.
So a started a 12x12 display board. Went to Hobby Lobby and found a 8 pack of 12x12 canvas frames. Was only $10. so I got the crazy notion to try using that instead of foam board.
Only problem is I had to add support to the unframed part the of the canvas. Easy fix just used a 9.5x9.5in piece of 1/8in board.
The fisrt one I'm doing is just a basic piece. Nothing to special about it. Gonna be painted up the same way I do my bases for 'Da Brazen Klawz.
The boss is looking hot and I think the rust on your metal is great. The artist canvas is a nice idea does the 1/8inch board offer enough support? How curved are the edges, could you stack a bunch next to each other without to big a seam?
Bangbangboom wrote:The boss is looking hot and I think the rust on your metal is great. The artist canvas is a nice idea does the 1/8inch board offer enough support? How curved are the edges, could you stack a bunch next to each other without to big a seam?
The 1/8 inch plywood does offer enough support. You do get a seam. its not large but if your finicky about stuff like that you might not like it. Once I get a few more boards done I'll show a pic of them side by side to give an idea of what it looks like.
Thanks. i'm just glad I'm finished with him. half the time I'll start work on a model, set it down and not touch it for a month or 2 and then finish it.
Arakasi wrote:You know what would be awesome? Da Brazen Klawz fighting alongside Da Dark Angelz, Da Warbosses kompetin' ta destroy da most beakies/'umies!
Schank, you've made me want to do an SMOrk army, lol (or even just a regular Ork army would be cool). Think of it...'Da Orks Zan'ween!' Haha, that would be awesome! Thanks for the inspiration!
Arakasi wrote:You know what would be awesome? Da Brazen Klawz fighting alongside Da Dark Angelz, Da Warbosses kompetin' ta destroy da most beakies/'umies!
+1 this
very nice group shot
Yes that would be awesome. Now if one of us could build a giant space hulk to travel to where the other one is at we could get this Waaaaargh!!! rollin.
monkeytroll wrote:Hey, looks good schank. Interesting idea with the canvas, I have a few tiny canvases laying around somewhere, might dig those out for a small diorama.
I did learn something from doing the first canvas. Undercoat the canvas with what ever main color you want before you start any work on it. I fould some sneaky little white spot show up on it after I was all finished. Not sure if it from the glue drying or more likely the flexing of the canvas. Only time will tell I guess. That and my new magic 8 ball. Quick little tid bit on those also. Dont break them open and drink the juice inside. I may look good but it tastes awful. And I woke up the next day next to Leonardo Dacaprio and he kept calling me Ling Ling. Still not sure what happened there.
Brother_Khiros wrote:Schank, you've made me want to do an SMOrk army, lol (or even just a regular Ork army would be cool). Think of it...'Da Orks Zan'ween!' Haha, that would be awesome! Thanks for the inspiration!
Thats awesome. But I cant take all the credit for your inspiration. There are many SMOrk armies out there. Araksi's 'Da Dark Anglez just to name one. I kinda started mine as a joke when Art35 came up with it (Da Brazen Klawz that is) almost a year ago. I also what to do a special unit of Deff Watch later( An idea that I got from Whalemusic360) Lots of good ideas floting around in dakkadakka. I'm just glad you cant copyright them. Then It might get ugly. But thanks. Its always wonderful to here that from someone. Makes my nugget center feel all warm and gooey.
Oh man, is Leo still not over the Ling Ling thing? Try mixing in a bit of smooth peanut butter to the 8-ball juice, takes the edge right off. But make sure you've had a weird-boy play with it before opening, they're magic you know.
I've never been a big fan of the BLTOrks myself. Tomato is just not my thing.
And then one day I was sitting back hungry and and working on my army and it hit me.
Instead of BLTOrks why not BLKOrks. It was pure genius. Bacon, Lettuce and Kukumber Orks. Its gonna take the world by storm.
Matt.Kingsley wrote:Am I missing out on something?
Monkey was making a joke about Schank saying BLKOrks, rather than just fully typing it out as Black Orks.
You got it on the money.
Sorry about lack of updates. Broke my middle finger on my left hand and well I'm left handed so it makes it kinda hard to paint and work with the little bits.
Typing itself is a pain in the ass with my finger splinted and taped to my ring finger.
It may be evil dammit but do you know how hard it is to use the toilet with a damn finger cast on. not fun. And most places put the toilet paper on the left side.
Don't want to paint any more BLKOrks...... ITs the same over and over.
So back to the boyz. Figure I would fill the ranks of the one Big Shoota boy.
All my orks are going to be modeled as 'ard boyz. All in 'eavy armor. They all wont count as 'ard boyz but I want to give that 'ard look to the entire army.
So got a little bit done on one model. It takes a lot longer to paint with the finger splint. Been finding new ways to hold the paint brush.
But here it is. No arms I paint those and andd them on later.
You don't know the half of it. The smaller details really suck to do.
But did get some more work done. Started on 2 more boyz and got some more work done on the first.
Gonna do a squad of 12 at least so they will fit in a trukk. I really need to do at least 2 squads. But with my warboss I can always take nobz as troops.
My goal is 2000 pts but I have been having fun with it so I'm thinking maybe more. I have enough ork stuff for about 6000 pts. But not sure if I want to do another ork themed army yet.
I've had to find new ways to hold the brush. One thing I found eaier to do is cut off most the handle of the brush so its not as long and I can hold irt with my thumb and pointer finger.
That way the stick of the brush isn't fighting aginst me.
I.......wow. Um.....-ahem- That's......I wish that I could express to you how awesome I think that mutant Ork model really is, but alas, the internet holds no symbols to approximate the hyperbole. All I can say for sure is; I want to see more! Also, kind of an odd coincidence: I was on Google, looking at Mangler Squig conversions, and I started thinking of interesting Squig/Ork combos. Then I jump back on Dakka and find your blog with mutant Orks. Gears are turning, I'm just not sure if they're mine or yours....
Ya just had to go there didnt you. Ya couldnt leave well enough alone. Just had to puch my buttons.
Well ya know what its all your fault Brothe_Khrios. Because of your comment that you made I got the bug to do a mutant ork.
So here it is I hope your happy with yourself.
Thanks for the creative boost.

My pleasure. Awesome conversion, by the way. Can't wait to see what else you come with.

This is how 'Da Brazen Klawz got started. Was playing around with an idea and some one said something about the idea and I thought yea that could be fun and cool. So I did a test model and here I an doing it all over again.
Damn you brain. I'm gonna poke you with something sharp.

Hehe...well, I don't know about anyone else (although I'm sure most people following this thread are of a like mind), but I can't wait to see what you come up with, one way or another.
Ooooooh. After seeing that monster, I vote for mutant Orks. I also want to get one for the squad!
The move is still ongoing but we are at least settled in enough to get my hobby room organized. I whipped together an Eldar Hornet I had just bought and am eyeing the suppa Battlewagon. When I get a couple more pieces, I'll get started on it.
So mutant orks it is. I think I'm gonna work on them when I get board with my Brazen Klawz. So I will be starting a new tread I think for my mutant orks. I wanna keep them seperated. Got a few ideas for some more.
Awesome. Be sure to at least post a link here for the new thread when you get it started. I know I myself am likely to miss it among all the new posts on Dakka if I'm not shown exactly where its at...or I don't stumble into it by complete accident.
The problem with mutant orks is that they need to be more than body parts glued in different places. I loved the first one, it was pure genius, but the rest are simply body parts in wrong places. Its effort to do it right, but well worth it.
Matt.Kingsley wrote:I, personally, don't like the mutan orks.
Doesn't mean I won't follow your blog, though!
I'm not 100% on them yet myself. Its gonna be challenging to make each one unique. But It will clean out my bit box of left over ork parts.
DeathGod wrote:The problem with mutant orks is that they need to be more than body parts glued in different places. I loved the first one, it was pure genius, but the rest are simply body parts in wrong places. Its effort to do it right, but well worth it.
I fully agree. Right now i'm just getting a feel of it. Most of it will be trial and error. And the one that don't come out or feel right will be squad filler for the time being. Thanks on the first one. I love how it turned out. The others just dont have the same appeal to me.
Time for a small update. No pic sorry. Not much done over the weekend. I did start on another 5 ork to fill out my 'ard boy squad and a nob to go with it but still in the early painting stages. hope to have more for ya this week.
Looking good Schank! Not as huge a fan of the 'washing' skin tone, but it doesn't look half bad. I just prefer my Orks darker-skinned. Anyways, keep up the good work! Can't wait to see the next set of updates!

I like the darker skin myself. But I like to use trades to explore new ways of painting.
your boyz mob is looking very nice indeed, just a surgestion
you could use space marine rhinos painted in the brazen claws theme as you trucks to fit in with the blood axey theme/ fluff. just a thought in case you hadd'nt already bought/ made your trucks
That boy for prime looks pretty cool, especially on that base with the rock (broken pottery?).
And strangely, it's never occured to me before, but for some reason that last pic just screamed Blood Bowl team at me Well, to be honest, it started screaming american 'football' team at me, but my auto-translation unit caught it in time

You know I hadnt thought of that. I have 3 trukk kits already that it never accorued to me. Good call. Mihg thave to do that for one of them.

Hmmmmm. I might have to try my had at magnets. 2sets of arms for each. Killin arms and playin arms. I just have never played Blood Bowl before. No one really was to intrested in it where I have lived.
The rock is a piece of glass that you can buy in a bag at most craft stores. Its used for vases or decorative bowls mainly I think.
prime12357 wrote:Wow! That's a fantastic looking ork!
I'm glad you like. I'm gonna send that lager base with it also. I need to find a box to ship it in. Have to do the same for Frawg still. Man I'm lazy. I have had his ork done for over a month now.
So Box hunting for 2 orks.
I might add some more detail to the base and maybe the ork. But it is finished for the most part.
Hey the lager was left out and went flat. Nobody like flat lager. So I added some resin to the lager and poured it into a mold and to my surprise it already had that nice tan look to it. I'm very impressed how it worked out so well. I think I'm gonna to the same thing to make a house. Just have to go to all the High School parties and clean up the half empty glasses and make a bigger mold. Teenagers and alcohol. Will they ever learn.
I just wait till they are over then rummage threw the trash for materials. If I hung out at high school parties all the time I might just have to kill myself.
Well after BigFish got the idea in my ork infested brain about using a rhino for a trukk. Well after spending a night rummaging though downtown 'umieville with my entourage of 20 or so boyz we finally found a squade of Brazen Claws that where 3 sheets to the wind. After a little friendly scuffle and putting their head on pig sticks we haul their rhino back to the shop. After making it a little more orky and getting the 'umie smell out of it we made some pretty good progress. Still have to add some more gubbinz it will be ready for paint. But this is what it looks like so far.
But if any of you crafty meks have any ideas for improvment let me know. The help is mucho welcome.
Front and top is looking good. Sides could use more work. When I eventually do a Looted Wagon with tracks, I plan to replace the Imperial design with the Orky Teef design. Or you could just use any form of Ork gylphs...

Whats great is I had a few ideas for the sides after I read your post and so I started mekken away. Well as I go to glue the first piece on to the looted rhino I find out I'm out of glue. SO that was fun. Lucky for me I can pick some up when I go to work but I wont beable to do any work on the rhino till after work. So in about 10-12 hours. Thanks for the input Arakasi. Now if I just had some glue.
The shooter inside on the rack just made this for me, very cool indeed.
i think it needs more battle damage though and more signs of battle repairs. (more metal plates over stuff and more holes in metal plates...)
bigfish wrote:The shooter inside on the rack just made this for me, very cool indeed.

Now I have glue so now I can start building again. I'm gonna add some battle damage after I get the rest of the gubbinz added on.
lindsay40k wrote:I don't know how I missed this excellent stuff. I've got such an urge to make a bob-omb now!
HA! I love it. I got Frawg to build one already. Be kinda had a friendly compatition with it. feel free to loot any ideas you may see. And thanks.
Got some work done of the Looted Rhino. Liking it so far. Have to do the damage and the inside work. Gonna add a rokkit launcha and spotter. I had the ork spotter bits set aside but now I dont know where I put them.
Wires huh. I dont think I have any wire laying around. Wonder what I can take apart. I need to brake something for wire. <Goes and gets a hammer and heads to the wife office> There has to be something in here to break.
I bought a spool of thin speaker wire for like 5 bucks. Its perfect for tubes, AND you can strip the coating back and twist the copper wire inside for that random bad Mek wire job. Best part is, if you buy 20feet of it, you actually have 40, because its a +/- set up being speaker wire. Stuff lasts forever, Ive still got a TON of it left and Ive had it for 2 years
Thanks Matt. Gonna try and get some work done on them this weekend. Finally got some small boxes to ship out Frawg's and prime12357's orks. Need to finish Bigfishes still. I wanna say I have a trade lined up with nakedbatboy but I'll have to ask or check my pm's. But thanks for stoppin' by. Got a plan brewing for some Deff Watch that Whalemusic360 gave me the idea for along time ago. Wasnt sure how I wanted to go about it but I think I might have something what will for. Just gonna have to convert alot of left arms on the orks to make it work.
Yep. We're settled in now and guess what? Some big chain bookstore is going out of business and I picked up a display case pretty cheap. I have my first army in it and am starting to build the new Black Templorks Battle wagon.
Artsoldier35 wrote:Yep. We're settled in now and guess what? Some big chain bookstore is going out of business and I picked up a display case pretty cheap. I have my first army in it and am starting to build the new Black Templorks Battle wagon.
Awesome. I need to get one of those. Mine end up in my army carrier after awhile. Seems like a waste to me but havent found a display case I like for them yet.
"It's not fair boss. Not only has he got arms, he gets a rhino for legs as well. We 'ave to waddle about and then gives da enemy a 'eadbutt. He gets to shoot 'em, run 'em over and even swipe his choppa at any really tall dudes."
" 'ey ya stikkin gitz. Ya gits ya arms as soon as ya eats ya veggies. An ifs ya eats all ons ya plate ya gits rhino legs. Dems da rules."
But really back to the arms. I finally got 10 sets of arms. Its been hard since the Arm Shortage of 2008. But after a few illegal black market trades I got the arms I needed. Now as long as the Scottish Mob doesnt find out that the cocaine I traded them is really my dandruff collection I should be alright. Hmmm probably shouldnt have written that. Stupid broken back space button.
Now you guys tell me. How was I supposed to know to use a false name. I thought it was like borrowing money from a bookie. If ya dont pay it back on time they take your mom on a fishing trip. She must be having a ton of fun cause she still hasnt come back from that fishing trip. Bet she has caught a bunch of fish to.

kind of unrelated to 'Da Brazen klawz but still an ork. Its part of a project I'm doing. Doing an ork for a Trukk mob. Its a group project that I signed up for.
The Trukk boy mob is named 'Da Dirty Duzzen. Its a misfit band of orks that are to blood thirsty or off their rocker to be of any use in a real mob. So they are sent to 'Da Dirty Duzzen.
"Demz boyz fights like uh bunch uf 'umies. Da real fun iz wen ya iz up in der faces. Ya gits ta see da eyes go black. But dey donts gits ta see me eyes. Me eyes aready black. Me seen Gork and Mork. Me knows who ta kill. Me kills everyting. Gork and Mork says so. Me old boss not like dat me kill more dan him. He tinks me wants to be him. Bah! Being boss no fun. Yas gots ta keep da 'uva boyz in line. Me just wants ta kill. Me boss gots us some fightin in dis new Waaagh! Some new tings ta kill. He gots mad wen mez gots da fist kill. Hez gots a mask from da Big Mek tinkin uf mez cant seez me cants fight. Burned da mask ta my face. Now 'da mask is me face, but wat he not know is Gork and Mork gives me new eyes. Betta eyez. Now me seez everyting. Dis made da boss really mad. He sent mez off ta sum new boyz. Boyz dat want ta kill likes me. Day call dem selves 'Da Dirty Duzzen. 'Da new boss dont cares who kills wat. As long as it killed. Me likes dis boss. he sees like me. He sees to kill." Crookshank uf 'Da Dirty Duzzen
Dirty Duzzen ork looks ace, schank. I like the mish mash of bits used (all orky) to complete him. The mask really ties together the idea that he's "off his rocker."
Thanks. Figured it was about time. Been with the site for a year now and and wanted to give back. Have learned alot and improved my ablility since I have joined DakkaDakka.
Got some more of Crookshank done. His choppa has paint. Only part really not touched is hiis slugga.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Now that the news has gone public. Crookshank is for a group project here on DakkaDakka called Waaagh Dakka.
Click on the Waaagh Dakka in my signature and it will take you to the whole layout.
But for more about Crookshank and 'Da Dirty Duzzen. Its lead by Arakasi. Its a band of crazy misfit orks that are for the most part sent to his mob to do as much killing and destruction till they are killed themselves and replaced. If you havent read the fluff on the project it is really well thought out and fun as hell to read. Yakface and the rest of those who helped refine Waaagh Dakka did an excellent job. Kind of inspiring to. Once my DMC status went through I read the article and was really wanting to be a part of it. And there are a lot of different Mobs to chose from. There have been other great site projects but this one is orks and Green is best.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Well here it is. Crookshank of 'Da Dirty Duzzen.
My poor poor 'Da Brazen Klawz. Havnt seen any love for a while. I'm a bad Warboss. Got sucked in to Waaagh Dakka by its pure awesomeness I stopped working on my orks for a bit. But I do have some work done. 5 of 'Da 'ard Boyz have arms now and the other 5 are in the middle of the painting stage. The nob is almost finished and the looted rhino need some more work. Hoping to have the squad done by Saturday. I have the next 2 days off so hopefully I can get my lazy butt moving. Thanks to everyone who stopped by sorry there was nothing new to see.
(Its monkeytrolls fault. He sent a pack of cyber-grot assassins to kill me. Good thing for me I had my rape whissle.)
Thanks. I really like how he turned out. It is mostly a giant kit bash with some minor conversion. The choppa and the slugga are the only things I really converted.
Alright wth! Before if someone or something tried to kill me I knew it was monkeytroll. Ever since he found out about my magic beans he wont let up. But now I have someone else trying to kill me. If this keeps up I'm gonna do something. Don't know what but its gonna be something.
So here is a way off topic on my orks. A lady I work with just got divorced With in the last year. Part of the reason was her ex-husband was spending about 2-3k a year on 40k and they didnt have the money to spend on it. While she was packing up her house resently she found a few boxes of 40k. A box of Kroot, Fire Warriors, Kabalite Warriors and Wyches. She knew I played orks cause we have a dispaly case art work for people to show off their art and crafts and I braught my 'Da Brazen Klawz in one time. Well today I went by work to get some sand paper for my orbital sander to refinish a dresser we just got use for the babies room. She asked me to walk out to her car with her and handed me all 4 boxes. I was flabergasted. I asked her what she wanted for them and she told me she just wanted them out of her site. So happy late b-day to me. Now just need to figure out what I'm gonna do with them. Might be fun to do something different.
Nice gift! Must be some sort of karma payback after the failed grot-hit. But I don't understand why it's off-topic for orks? Kroot, fire warriors, wyches and warriors all have bitz don't they
The Epic Chaosdude!!! wrote:Really nice work, keep it coming!

That they do. I have an idea with the Kroot to fall in line with my mutant orks which I have been neglecting. The Tau bits will be fun. Might do a gladiator style diorama with a wytch and an ork. Could be fun to do.
ok so i am seeing lootas in all shapes and sizes coming from those boxes, with spelcilist komandoes who steal from wyches and tyranid ork abobanations with cybork bits as well. (wipes mouth of drool)
you lucky ble*p
Ha thanks guys....I think... Think I'm gonna do a few of them up normal just so the boyz have someone to pick on at night. I do have an idea brewing for some of the Tau bitz. THese models are so small compared to orks. I dont see how they ever win. So wimpy looking up close. But those extra blades that come with the DE will make some nice punching weapons.
Well my lazy butt didn't get nothing done. So much for completing the mob of 'ard boys. But was still productive outside of 40k. Got a used dresser for the nursery and got it sanded down to refinish. So knida like working on a model in some wierd strange way. But I really do need to finish those orks.
And Matt. I know where you live. Thats right. You dont have to look behind you. Just keep eating those chips. I'll see you soon. Just playin...... or am I?
Arakasi I was thinking about adding a Tau corps to my Dread-ead base. Maybe some trophies to my warboss as well. So much to think about now.
schank23 wrote: And Matt. I know where you live. Thats right. You dont have to look behind you. Just keep eating those chips. I'll see you soon. Just playin...... or am I?
Thanks guys. I did start painting the rest of the arms for my 'ard Boyz squad. They are almost done.
The thing is Matt you have to take in account time zones. Your today is my tomorrow. SO when I see you eating chips it was my today but your yesterday. Na na nanana Naaaaa!
Automatically Appended Next Post: 'ard Boyz now with arms. For all that choppy and shooty action.
CommissarKhaine wrote:Ard boyz = Kaptin Amerika squad? I love how they look all unified on the battlefield!
Thanks. I was going for the unified look. Since I'm having my orks emulate SM I wanted them to each be different but still be the same. Thats one reason I made the left shoulder pad the same on each one.
Matt.Kingsley wrote:The thing you need to realise is that I last had chips in September, not October
Matt I think you fail to realize that your a sleep eater. Yes thats right Matt. You eat in your sleep. It's true I've seen it.
Been slow going this past week. Haven't gotten anything done really. But on a good note a new game store opened last week. Well not really new but I just found out this comic shop that moved locations started carrying 40k about 5 months ago. Might be able to get games in more often now. Asked the people there that where playing a 5k apoc game what the normal army list runs and its 2k pts. my current army lists are 1k and 1.5k pts. Thats all me and my brother-in-law play when we get together. Gonna play around abit with the 2k and see what I want to add or change up. Gonna try and get a game in this weekend. Wife will be out of town so I'll have some free time. What I would love to accomplish this week would be to finish up the 3 Nobs with PK's and start on my last 3 MANZ. Got some buggie ideas I have been tossing around to. Not mine but stuff I have seen people do that I really liked. Hopesfully I'll get off my lazy butt and get some wips up later.
Man a guy cant even sleep go to work and them come home. But just got off work. Gonna start working on something even if I dont know what it is yet. The Lions play the Bears tonight so that might pull me away from the ol' modeling table. But thats not for a bout 3-4 hours still. just need to get working on something. Man I'm lazy.
Yeah, someone needs to do something about that 'work' stuff. It keeps getting in the way of all sorts. Aren't we living in the future now? I thought robots were supposed to be doing all the work whilst we lazy humans got on with fun stuff. I'm sure that was promised me when I was a kid. And holidays on Mars and Luna.
Oh granted, there are a few designs out there, I've seen some better looking versions, but they're not the ubiquitous form of transport I was led to believe would be in place before the turn of the century
Well not much painting done but I have been converting. Been working a a buggie. So far really happy how its coming about. Have a bunch of deffkoptaz so I jumped on the band wagon and made me a warbuggie. Like to have options when making my army list so I have the rokkets and the shoota. And who else to man the gun than a grot. Funny how they are so much smaller but are much better shots. They must eat their veggies. Not a 100% done need to add the exhaust pipes still.
Anvildude wrote:Might want to see what you can do about adding some struts to those front axles, and maybe cleaning up (and orkifying) the Big Shoota.
Where'd you get the back wheel, anyways?
Yea still have some work to do on it. I want to scrape off the SM symbol and add an ork glyph. That strut idea is a good one. Didn't even think about that. The back wheel is from an ork bike.
Awesomesauce wrote:NICE! Love da brazen klawz and the 3-wheeled buggy!
Thats what I'm trying to work out now. Gonna try something with leaf springs and shocks to see what works best. Now i just wish I would have thought about it before hand.
Thanks. The plan is to do 3 buggies total but I want each one to have a different chassis. I got a busted up land speeder from art35 that I an gonna convert in to one and I have an idea for the 3rd already just waiting for the bits to get here. Each one will have rokkets and shootaz so I can go either way with them.
Thanks. I have the exhaust done so far but still working on the suspension for the front. Did some minor work on the shoota on top also. Still work to be done. But first I think a nap. have to work overnight Friday so have to try and stay up late tonight. Fun for me. Might get alot of work done on my orks if my brain is working. Still waiting for my grotz to come back with either monkeytrolls or bigfishes brain. BRRAAAAIIIIIINNNSSSSSS!!!!!!
I dunno how to make shocks that would look like a spring, but just as an idea, a toothpick fits perfectly inside the ink cartridge of a pen and looks a lot like a hydraulic piston. You can cut it to size and angle it from the center of the wheel up to underneath the cover over the rockets, and maybe make a small panel out of card to cover where it meets the panel so you don't have to worry about making it look pretty.
bigfish wrote:No brains for you but alas the trike is looking sweeet
Man I never get any brains. And thanks.
Matt.Kingsley wrote:do do do do do I'm Lovin' it!

Thats a great idea. Now just need to find some clicky pens to take apart. Brilliant.
Bangbangboom wrote:I like the one back wheel look, something I haven't seen before.
If you plan on them all being different have you seen the preview of the new puppet's war buggy. Might be something worth looking at.
Thanks. Thats a nice looking buggie as well. I was going to do a 4 wheeled buggie but during the creative process some how I went with the 3 wheel idea.
Well I think I'm back for now. At a solid stopping point on the nursery. So back to 'Da Brazen Klawz. Been non-productive the past few weeks with almost everything to do with the hobby. The only thing I have really done was organize my bits. Got all the ork stuff seperated and even my SM bits. Which I have good new for me at least. Traded some old metal Gray Knights for a giant box of bits. Got everything from Black Templar to Blood Angles to Dark Angels to a lot of vehicle parts and lots of lascannons and Plasma Cannons. So we will see what comes out of it in the months to come. And the new Necrons coming out this weekend. Those will be some fn kits to bash. Need to find me a necron player so a can loots his left overs.

Ok so progress has been made on Bigfish's Mad Doc trade. I have finished the 'urtie syringe and added a back pack full of the funnest stuff an ork can find to inject in a puny 'umie. Unfortunately my wife had the camera. (Shakes fist in anger at wife.) But on the up side she should be home soon. So I'll get some pics posted then of the progress.
bigfish wrote:woo ill be looking foward to it. (your one is pretty much done i just need to sort out the base)
Nice cant wait to see it finished. Yours is getting closer to being done just have to find out where that fething camera went off to. Thought it was in the wifes purse but it was not. Gonna have to trash the house to find it I think. But once I do I can update with some pics. My 'ard Boys are 100% finished and so is the looted rhino. Got started on a second looted rhino that I got in the mail from frawg. Gonna have the driver compartment open on this one. So much to do on the holidays are gonna slow everything down. I think next I'm going to work more on my warbuggies and trakkz. Need to do up a few bikes and koptaz for fun also. Even have those kanz that I started in May that need to be finished.
On a little side project I'm working on a 5 man squad of wolf guard and a razorback for my brother. Got everything primed to go just waiting on the spray cans of army painter to come in that I orderd. heard alot of good things about the stuff so gonna give it a shot. Want to have it done by Nov 23 for his birthday but if not might just get him the Necron Dex and give his the wolves for christmas. We will se what happens I guess. But again as soon as I find that camera I'll get some pics up for everyone.
Wolf guard and razorback huh? I'm guessing the wolf guard are some kind of mounted grots and the razorback is some kind of cy-boar right? I can't seem to find them in the codex
monkeytroll wrote:Wolf guard and razorback huh? I'm guessing the wolf guard are some kind of mounted grots and the razorback is some kind of cy-boar right? I can't seem to find them in the codex
The wulfguard are a special grot unit. its from the old 2end edition and yes yoiu nailed it the razorback is a cy-boar.
Careful with painting those wolves they have an annoying tendency to multiply and then you never get to chop up the razorbacks. Just don't paint 15 missile launchers and no combi meltas allowed on those wolf guard. Seriously its even worse when they transmogrify into grey-wolf-knights with razorback that can't be stunned and shaken and lets not get into Necro-wolves. And you'll never get all that grey paint out of your brush just stop now while you're ahead. yeah they better be a grot unit and cyboars.

Whats really bad about all that its that it makes since to me.

I know. I know. Cant find the stupid camera. Bet those damn rebel grots broke in my house again and took it. Little buggers are cleaver.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I found the camera. Damn thing was hiding in the desk with a bunch of empty beer cans and pizza boxes. Damn thing wouldn't take a focuses picture for about 3 hours till its hangover went away.
But I do have some pics for Bigfish. His Mad Doc I'm working on. Not finished yet still much painting to be done. But alot further along than before.
Have to touch up the face and the eyes. Some metal studs need to be painted on all around touch up.
Battle damage on the buzz saw arm and so light touch up.
Touch up on the back pack and the hoses on both arms.
Lots of touch up on the 'urty syringe are.
But that's what I have so far. Still need to base it also. Hope you like.
Norn King wrote:Looking gooD! Now THAT is a syringe.
The Good Green wrote:Very cool conversion, and the painting is looking good too. Puts the 'urt back in 'urty syringe!
I figured go big or go home on this one. I like how it turned out myself. Evey time I end up doing a trade I have to remake one for my own army cause of the way it ends up turning out.
bigfish wrote:Duuuuuude, that doc is looking sweeeeet. i love the huge syringe, so orky! cant wait to add him to my force (excited!!)
Glad you like. Hope to have him finished soon.
Once I get prime's and BF's trades finished I think I am all caught up. But if there is someone out there I have agreed to trade with and miss let me know ans we will work out the trade.
Still have much to be done. Just got another AoBR ork set from a friend for $20. So now I have more to paint and play with. I think that puts me at 100 AoBR orks and I have a ton of deffkoptaz to chop up. Think I'll leave 3 normal. And more nobz that I know what to do with.
It will be fun to see what comes out of it.
Nice stuff schank23,

Good GORK and MORK I think its bigger than my Boss. That is one hell of a conversion. Awesome work Art. Gonna be one fantastic Smork army.

Sorry Sov......
But I will say I have been working on a little something during my absence. Still in the beginnign stages but its a new warboss....on a bike so I'll get ya guys a some pics of that later as well.
Automatically Appended Next Post: So here is a pic of the stuff I've been working on so far for 'Da Brazen Klawz. Finished, Unfinished, and in the works. Hope to have more later when I am able to get some more work done.
It's been a long time since I have really done anything with my orks. Been on the back burner for a long time. Had a lot of life events going on. Mainly my son who is now 10 weeks old. And I have to say he is the funnest game I have ever played. But I have dusted off the old paint brush and modeling knife and figured it was time to give the ol' hobby another go. Still want to work on 'Da Brazen Klawz . Have a nice portion done but still much I want to finish. I have made some progress on my 'Ard Boyz and been working on anther looted rhino and a squad of Boyz. I have also been checking in on some of the old threads I was following before and have seen some wonderful stuff. But I do have some pics of both rhinos and my 'Ard Boyz for you to see. And half way done with the next squad of Boyz. I am hoping to have more frequent updates and progress on my orks. And some fun things planed for the future. So with out further delay here are pics of both Rhinos and the 'Ard Boyz. Sorry for the large gap in posts.
So like I said I wanted to have frequent updates. I have some wip pics for you guys on my next squad of boys. Not super far along but just to let you see where I am at.
Thanks guys. Been a long time over due for the orks to get some love. I was thinking about taking my son to the next tournament and painting him green and using him as a stompa. He would even come with poo flinging action. Would that be a large blast template?
Thanks. That Warboss to some time to finish but it is one of my favorite models in my army. Now if I only played with hime more. I take a warboss on a bike most the time.
Now for a a project that has been ignored for a while. I started this a ways back. Got the idea from chatting with Gits and some others in his ork thread. We where milling around the idea of grot bikers and one night board out of my mind I put together a uni-bike. I really liked the look fo it but never did much more with it since. Well I finally added the grot rider and some paint. Still some work to be done but here is a little up date for you guys.
i have another update on the grot biker. This time with more paint. For the base I think I'll have him going off a jump.
But here it is. Have to go my son is having a melt down.
Made some progress. There was a Trike I was working on a while back. Gonna count as a warbuggie and can use as a bike if I want also I guess. Slapped some more paint on the sucker. Not done yet but tell me what ya think so far.
The grot at the back looks very calm and collected considering he is flying through the air, also i think he needs something under the back of his feet, looks like he is hanging of a bit. think you should have this one without the flying base though just so the grot fits in more. i like t though, a squad of them would be cool
Arakasi wrote:Barrels... need... drilling... (these comments *almost* write themselves, I need a macro...)
As for the barrel I do plan on drilling them out. But right now I'm having trouble finding my pin drill. Last time I used it was in March so not sure where I put the dang thing.
Matt.Kingsley wrote:Meh, just black dot them, that's all I do
anyway, looks good
Funny thing. I can center the drill hole better than a black dot. But still a good idea. Maybe till I find it I'll do that.

I just have it on the flying base while I finish painting it.. Keeps me from touch the model as mush with my fingers and having to go back over and fix the rubbed off areas.
I might but a guard around the grot but I dont know if the orks would really care about their safety.

Thats everyone for your feed back. I hope to have more of the buggie finished by tomorrow. I think I'll make this the month of unfinished projects.. Got a bunch of stuff that needs completed.
I think I may know where its at. But I'll have to clean out my closet to get it. I packed up alot of my modeling stuff when the baby was born and have been slowly getting it back out. Just have to find the box it is in.
Ok so far I have found my drill bits and my dremel. Still no pin drill yet.
But I've only got a few more boxes to go threw. If I dont find that damn thing I'm gonna.......
go buy a new one I guess.
What really suck is I thought I found my bike bases...... Nope I had a dream I found my bike bases.
Woke up all excited at first then realized it was just a dream......
Stupid 40k on the brain.
Automatically Appended Next Post: Son of a &!%$#. Just found my pin drill.......
It was in the top desk drawer on my wifes side of the desk.
Now I have to put the closet back together after taking all the boxes out to find the darn thing.
I've moved several times and I always pack my gaming stuff thinking, "OK, I'm organized. I'll know where to find it all when I get there." Then I get there and still takes me months to get settled back in knowing where everything is.
... and half the time I end up finding things in the most obvious place. But of course, that's not where I was looking.

June 7, 2012. Holy crap. My green boys of distraction have been.... yes distraction. They make a good one when need to slip out the back door of reality. But the could tear it up on the table rob as well. But with the new codex around the corner the plastic-fu magic has entered the brain pan again. So I’ve always love the craziness of orks and how you could do most what ever you want with them. So I’m setting my near sighted eyes and 5 to start. Got 3 in the works. The one with all the stikk bombz I am happy with. The other 2 are headed in the right direction but don’t feel finished. Figure a good krumping will do the trick to get them finished. But here is some eye candy you cheeky little bas..... hey what’s that over there?
Underarm rockets are always cool, to finish think he needs some spare rokkits on his back. Or a paperback wires into the launchers - which doesn't make much sense, but hey, it's orky, and might look cool.
Rokkit-hammer guy is good to go I think. Maybe a bionik limb or two as mementos of previous swings of the hammer -but that could just be my own bias talking there
