This is a concept model I did bout 4 months ago. I was inspired by Artsoldier35. He mentioned it in a post in the Awesome Great Marine Swap. The Great Ork Swap at the time.
I plan on making 10 of them. Picked up another box of Black Orcs at shop that was moving locations for $12. Hells ya. Got some other stuff to but haven't even opened those boxes yet.
Gonna use them in my Ork army kind of as a hired unit. Can't wait to finish them so they can bust some heads. So here is the first model and I'll have more to come soon.

Nice thanks everyone. And yes Art there will be more to come. Here is a pic of just the foundation colors for one I was working on between glue drying. Still much to be done and he has no head. SO right now not very reliable in combat.

I love all the SM-themed orks that have popped up, especially the ones that originated in the GMS.

GMS was an awesome idea Whale. And thanks to that Artsoldier35 gave me the idea for 'Da Brazen Klawz. And I'm finding them more fun to paint than my other Ork Army I was working on. So I think I'm going to try and hit 2000 pts with them. Wasn't sure how I wanted to paint my Deff Dread and Killa Kanz till I started doing more of this Army. 'Da Howllin Griffinz might be cool to do with the red and yellow to.......

You could make some commandos into a deathwatch themed unit with some nifty other SMorks. Might be a good use of the GMS as well.

Alright so I have 2 orks with no heads. I think I'm gonna use the one on the far left for 'Da Hamma but not sure what one I want to use for the other.
I'm kinda stuck between the 2 on the right. If anyone has a better opinion I'm still open to suggestions.

Thanks Micro and B-girl. I have to say I love how it turn out myself. The bit I use was from the Chaos Rhino spur I think.

I'd go with #4 for the axe guy. I also like the idea of #2 for the hammer, the lack of a mouth has a good image in my head, like the hammer isn't even an effort for him.

Thanks monkeytroll and Artsoldier35. Been wracking my brain for the past few days what to do for the other 2H weapon. So I just pulled out all my bitz and looked till I found that drill. Now whats bad is I have to come up with 2 more ideas for the next five I do. I'll have some more completed pics..... well further along pics tonight I hope.

@CF832 steal away. 'Da Brazen Klawz wasnt my idea in the first place. I got the idea for Artsoldier35 in the GMS.

To give you guys an idea on how I am gonna base these suckers. I'm going for an urban feel. The front one is in its finished state and the rest are still in the first phase. Art35 has one of the best views of the base 'cause its the same style I did his Bad Moon Ork base in. So let me know what ya think.

Here is a pic of one on a base to give ya a better idea of what it will look like.

My only problem with Drill dude is that it is the same pose as the Hamma, which I think it detracts from both of them. Shoota/PC guy is aces though.

Ya when it comes to the Black Orcs you dont have many options when it comes to posing them. Their shoulders are kind of set in their stubborn ways. So in a box of Black Orcs you are gonna have 4 models with that pose.
If I can figure out a way to distinguish then more I will. But so far my brain is clueless.

Thats what most of mine are to. The bulk of my ork force is AoBR orks that I really havnt done much to. Before these orks the ones I have that are not your run of the mill cookie cutter orks are the 4 I am working on for my Gorkamorka mob. And they are mostly just kit bashed.

Yea when you first hit me up for a trade for that ork I was hesitant. Really didnt want to part with him cause I had never done a Bad Moon ork and I loved the way it turned out. But I'm glad I did now cause I got a cool nob from youand a bunch of other orks from other trades.

Got a little more work done on the other 2 today. My Boyz bad is almost complete. New Kids on the Block eat your hearts out. And just another hit on my next project. It involves something purple that can be seen in the first pic of this blog. Its gonna be driven by a grot and have my choppy hurty bitz on it to mash 'umies.

It'll be interesting to see if you can keep the original look of a bomb-omb while making it orky. Got me excited for it for sure, I love when people make pop culture things into ork items. Orktimus Prime would make me start orks if I had it.

Well right now I have no boards. Gave the one away I made last time I moved. But I should be moving in to my new house next month and I will have my own room just for my stuff. But I do plan on making a small board. Maybe 1'x1' or 2'x2' just for my Brazen Klawz. In the future yes there will be a board.

Yep. Stopma or a dread but if I tell you guys everything I would ruin the surprise. Have to finish the other 2 orks first. Then Bomb-omb and back to the other 5 orks. I have another box of black orks but I dont know if I want to do the next 10 right away. Have to bulk out the rest of the army with boys and other units. Not sure how I'm gonna take this army. Was thinking about researching the real Brazen Claws and checking out their Force organization chart and maybe emulating that. But if anyone has better ideas I'm open to them.

Well not really an update just some better pics of the 3 Brazen Klawz already finished. kinda glad I did it cause I noticed alot of spots on the models I missed or need to touch up. I have a pic of the other 2 that I have been working on that are a little further along......... and a monkey.

50 cents at Ci Ci's Pizza. Games Workshop has really dropped their standards when it comes to model designers. Guess everyone has been making cutbacks to save money.

Not completely finish but here is a idea of what 'Da Brazen Klawz will look like. These are just the first 5 I plan on doing a whole army but these 5 took me about 3-4 weeks of working on them in my spare time. But I've had more fun painting these orks that any others. Well not completely true. I did have fun with the orks I traded.

That squad looks killer. Glad you decided to go forward with this. If you need any help and I can fit it in or send you stuff....let me know.

Thanks Art. If you have any bitz that would work let me know. I willing to trade for them. I have a bunch of different bitz in my may boxes of put on hold project. Cant help it though. Green is best what can I say.
Got more work done on the last 2 in the squad. Just have to finish the heads and do some detail work. But I did break down and start on my special project for the army. Couldn't help it. I'm weak..... But in weakness comes

No not a stompa. Got a size comparison pic for ya. He is more the size of a dread. But I do have a question. I want to add armor plates but I dont know whats the best stuff to use. I have some plasti card and some green stuff but I've tried both and not much success. So any ideas are tips would be greatly welcome.

So here is a little update on the Bomb-omb. Changed the eye out. Like the new one better. Added one arm so far and looking for bitz to attach the other still. I should have some pics up later with my orks. just have some detail work left to do.

I like where you were going with the warboss, and that bad moon looks ace. After seeing your guy in the flesh I've started playing with various washes on the skin on my guys (luckily there's often not that much skin showing for mistakes to show up)

So I had some old Mega Nobs. Again Art35 idea. Live my army threw his brain it seems like. And an old Grazskul model I'm gonna use for my warboss I think. Used Super Clean to strip them down. Work awesomely. Thanks for the tip Necroshea.
SO far stripped 3 of 4 mega nobs and graz. Got an old grotsnik to strip and some old Gorka Morka models still. Woking on a mega nob right now to see how the color scheme will come out. Will post pics when further along.

@ Monkeytroll. Whats funny is I think thats the first model I used washes on the skin with. Figured I would expirament with it a bit.

And I have to admit, I'm a little baffled by the whole "Space Marine inspired Orks". Are you running them as Orks who like (a chapter I've never heard of's) Marine Colors, or as Marines that look like Orks? And what in the world is the Chapter that has a quartered paint scheme?

@ Anvildude: He's making Orks that follow the paint scheme of a Space Marine Chapter called the Brazen Claws. While not mainstream for sure, they are real and can be found on the Lexicanum. I'll try to find a link for you.

@ Anvidude: Just a miss spelling of the name. But I'm palying orks who are emulating marines. The Brazen Claws are a second founding of the Iron Hands. And Like the Blood Axes who use 'Umie tactics my arks are from the Blood Axe Klan and have battled the Brazen Claws many times. By thinking if they dress in the same colors as them that they could better infiltrate enemy lines. So yes The Brazen Claws are a real SM chapter not a Home Brew. And Yes I am playing my orks as orks.

Just to clear up any further confusion on the Brazen Claws. Here is a pic of there colors.

As you can tell I changed it a bit. Swapped the colors around on the head armor. But thats the Sm chapter I'm going off of.

Ok so quick update. After stripping down my mega nobz I decided to do a test model before I started on my warboss. Made I cool base to I think for it. I've got the arms primed but not sure what to do for the head yet. Either the regular mega nob head or a BO head. I'm thinking the BO head just to stay with the theme. So my HQ will be Ghazkul, well a converted version of him but I think I'll still use the rules. And I have 4 mega nobs but I dont know if I want to use all 4 or if I just want to use 3. Guess Ill figure that out when I get more of my army painted. Guess I could make an army list but then I'll have a list of what to paint and that just kills it for me. So I think It will just be a wip on the army list. Now enuff of my rambling time for pics. Got some of the base I did for the first nob and one of the nob on the base.

Have been watching your blog I'm just a bit slow on comments. The big tankhammer guy is cool and I love the goggles conversion and the bomb-omb looks really interesting. You could always try some cardboard to start with instead of plasticard its easier to work with and comes free with your cornflakes! Otherwise I have been wondering would soaking the plasticard in hot water help make it more flexible?

@Wazzdig Dagga: I might have to try that hot water on the plasticard idea. Never really had the guts to mess with alot of conversion till I started this army. So still learning how to work with alot of different materials.

I've done some more work on the mega nob. Almost done with his arms. But not sure if I want to use a BO head or the Mega Nob head. Got some more work on the base done also. Those I can knock out pretty fast. I just use 3 colors and them and a few washes. Dont want the base to take to much from the model. But I have started on the base for my warboss. That will have alot more detail to it.

UP DATE!! Base is done and arms are on the Nob. Gonna do up the heads and see what one I like better but this is what I have so far.

I think I did some BO heads on Mega Armored NOB bodies. I'll check this evening.

I have the head finished for the mega nob that came with the model. I just blue tac'd it to the model. so its not been glued yet. So this is option 1 and I'm still working on option 2.

I like the missile with the face, made me lol.

Thanks WH and PG. I thought the face on the rokkit would let the unfortunate soul on the receiving end know how great of a day they are about to have. Now I just need to decide if I want to start on the next 5 boyz or more mega nobs. I have 3 more mega nobz to paint but I've only found 2 so far. I got an idea for a 2hander with a trukk tire and art35 was thinking the ball and chain like the one I used on my warboss conversion I'm still working on. Trying to win so bitz on ebay before I finish. Need them for my Dread-ead to. Won a few bids for 99 cents each. Whole thing cost me about $8 for the 3 bids and shipping. Got some close combat arms from the killa kanz and there engines and shoulders. So once those show up I can continue some of my projects. But for now all you get is a pic of "da Brazen Klawz that are completed.

Yea. I was thing of just using the ones I had and then using the kan parts when they come in for the one I have already. But I did start on a few new Boyz. 2 of them are just PK's but the other one is a 2hander. I think the 2hander is missing something. I wanted to add something to the top of it but havnt thought of anything. But here is what I have so far.

Well as you can tell I didnt get 'Da Wheel finished. Was at my brother-in-laws last night. But I do plan on getting some work done on him today. And yes Art35 I'm serious. If it wasnt for you I would have never started this army. And I've been meaning to make you one anyways as a thank you. So I'll start production. if you have any ideas that you want done to him let me know. I'll keep you informed on the options ill have for you to. So that way you can customize it how you want it.

I really like your miniatures, very orky!
One small thing to improve them would be to blackline between the silver scratches and the colors.
If this is done already, then I just didnt notice it.

Prototype_X: I do have a deff dread in the works that I'm scratch building/ bit bashing. And I do have a plan for a trukk so keep watching.

Iron Angel: I know most people put the black under when they do the paint chips, but I'm just not a big fan of it. I look at it as the primer under the paint before the orks paint their armor. But I dont thing orks are smart enuff to prime thier gear before they paint I think they would just grab the color and slap it on. But that for the CC. Man thats a lot of buts.

Very minor update. Have a pic of the heads I'm looking at using. i'm kind of leaning towards the top second from the left and bottom right heads. I think the head with out the full helmet and gaping maw would tie it together with the grot on the mace.

I vote 2nd from left on the top. I like that you can see his face. Almost like he's laughing as he flails that "hammer" around.

Moltar I went with the head the you liked also.

Depending on your level of detail wanted, I'd suggest checking any 'open mouth' ork heads; their teeth, specifically. The molding process has a tendancy to make long, flat, plate like teeth out of some of the ones on the side. Usually a sharp xacto can fix that up easy, though.

The Klaw is the one that came with the MANZ and two toes from the Dread or Kans kits on either side. Can't remember which though. Nope, No Gob! Wanted him to be a bit different so i added the spiked rib cage.

Very nice nobs. Like the basing also. Gonna be fun to paint. I think the klawz from the pk are from the deff dread. The killa kanz dont have toes that move. They are a solid piece

Epic. It's always good to see some out of the box weaponry, and while I have always hated the split color scheme on SM armor, it works on these orks. Keep at it man, looking forward to more!

Thanks guys. The weapon conversions are about the only thing that I do without to much thinking. Most of the stuff I try to convert I over thing and turn out to be junk. Thank god for blue tac or I would have wasted alot of bits.

Got 4 more Black Orcs that I have started painting. Just foundation colors so far but I also started on a Killa Kan. Got the body started. Got 3 kanz to paint and 2 dreads. One out of the box and the Dread-ead. Sill waiting on the bits. With the mega nob I'm getting from Art35 I can do Graz and 5 mega nobz. Just need to do a trukk worthy of their gear. Got some extra tracks from the battle wagon kit I can use. I think that much weight on tires will blow them out. Ha Ha fatties. So a tally of what I want to do so far.

1x Warboss (still want to use that ball and chain conversion)
5x Mega Nobz
20x Black Orkz ( Might have 2 10 man squads counted as Nobz or 20 'Ard Boyz in a Battle Wagon)

Thanks Art35 and Prototype_X. The 4 Black Ork Boyz bodies I'm working on are almost done. I have the red finished then just need to do the blue and battle damage. Then figure out what heads and arms I want to use. I think I'm going to do more work on the kan before I do all that. Have some bitz from ebay and the ones from Art35 coming. SO I want to see what I can wip up with those for the boyz. And I have the bitz for my Dread-ead. Cant wait to start more work on that.

Wazzdig thanks for the tip. Gonna Have to make use of that later. Got very little work done this weekend. Was a beautiful weekend so spent most of it outside with the wife. But here is what I have got done. More work on the Kan. Some detail and battle damage left and arms. So here is what I've got.

I LOVE IT! It's Christmas in April. Just got some really cool bitz in the mail today from Art35. The Mega Nob shown earlier primed gray and a bunch of other cool stuff. I think my favorite one is the metal wall anchor. Never even thought about using something like that. Very awesome idea. Got so many ideas running threw my head. I can use the flamers and rokkits for the buggies I want to do from the idea I got from Wazzdig. The dread CC blades will come in handy. And the bit in the top left of the pic with some added gubbinz will be a future 2handed weapon. Gah its driving me crazy brain wont stop thinking. Ok well I have the go the mek in me is calling. Here is a pic of what I got.

More progress on my Killa Kan. Got the arms started. Just need to do the highlights and battle damage. But here is what I have so far so enjoy.

Proto_X i'll wip up a tutorial on my bases for yea. They are pretty easy to do though. All I use is some wire mesh that I normally get at Hobby Lobby. Pretty cheap to. Around $3. Then I just use Bits of spurs and miscellaneous pits I've cut up. Basing sand, prime and paint. I'll go into more detail on it tomorrow. Getting close to sleep sleep time.

Got a little further on the Boyz. SO here is a pic. And a pic of the stuff I use on my bases. Colors are Chardon Granite, Astronomican Grey, Chain Mail, Watered down Macharius Solar Orange, Orgyn Flesh and Badab Black.

Okay, you have to finish that Bob-omb dredd. I said it in a comment on your pictures, and I will say it again, if you don't finish it, I will steal your idea and use it on one of the two bomb-omb candy dispensers I have here at my house.

Alright. Been a few days since I last posted anything. This was something I never planed on doing. Just happened to fall in my lap. Was reading Gitz Bad Moon Orks thread and he was talking about grot bikerz and how he was short a few. Well in an old issue of White Dwarf not sure which one but it came out when I was stationed in Ft. Carson so either '01 or '02. There was a pic of a grot on unibike with big gunz. Tried to find the pic for Gitz but couldnt find so I put together this. No rider yet just the unibike. Still a wip but in the painting phase.

tis cool, like it painted. cant wait to see it with a rider, hopfully hanging on by his finger tips.

Well what I think I'm gonna do iwith the squad is do each one up differant. Kinda like grots that ran from there meks to flee from their opresion and make each bike in a differaint color like they had ran from seperate klanz and formed a gang.

So I have 2 more grot bikes im working on. The cool thing was it was a single ork bike I cut in half. I am smart. S-M-R-T. Again very raw wip. One is just the back track of the bike and the other is the front half in made into a trike. so more work to come but first must eat dinner.

The armor plates are actually made just like on the saucer, small pieces of plasticard of varying thickness. The rivets are the same way, made by plasticard rod. Gale Force 9 is the company that makes the plasticard. Our local hobby shop http://www.comics-n-games.com/ is pretty good at keeping a steady stock of it. There are packs they sell that contain multiple sheets in all thickness's. I'd recommend every ork player to pick up some of each. It is invaluable to me and my conversions.

Yeah, it is a bit unfair that he started his conversion before me, but I am just a mek, we see sumfin we like, and we nik it so we can make it ours.

So uber inspired by what I saw I was digging threw my bits to see if I had any AoBR warbosses and dreads left. Found an untouched dread and a warboss I was thinking bout using along time ago that I converted a little. Most notably the power klaw. Still a wip. Have to do the othe rarm and head still and fill in some gaps. but here is what I have pieced together so far. Not an exact replica of paintedpotatos awesome work. But I did use it as a template. So here I my version of his work. I hope you like.

It might be but paintedpotato used only AoBR bitz. I habe been using bitz from other sets as well. And his is the first prototype.
He is brilliant just to think of that conversion in the first place. But thanks a bunch proto_X. I do have a feeling painting him will not be fun for me. Should have thought it through more when assembling all the bitz and blue tacked the arm to body and body to legs. Still have much work I want to do on him. Gonna put spikes on the boots and figure out how I want to do the arm and head. Oh and if anyone ells is going to attempt this conversion. The link I posted ealier paintedpotato has a break down of how he did it. But save any scrap pieces cause they come in handy to filler later for the model.

Yea. I'm gonna use Ghaz rules for it so 225 pts I think. And for smaller games, cuase my brother in law and I play 1000 pt games most the time so we can finish before the wives start yelling at us. lol.

Thanks everyone for your comments. My wife recommended the spurs. Took like 2 hours to get them set. and bending that rod was like trying to break a diamond. I have to say though Schank, your ghazghull makes me quiver in feer from your army. Absolutely astounding. and that goes to show that you can take someone else idea, and improve on it. Awesome.

Well got a little of bad news.... I've packed up all my 40k stuff..... I.... I... I have to move..... My wife made me get a house and we sign the paper work tomorrow. So might be a week or so till I get my stuff back out. But on a happy note I get my own hobby room. Mancave. Mancave! MANCAVE HOOOOO!!!! So its a good and a bad. More good than bad. But fear not 'Da Brazen Klawz will be back. And they will grow. And they will crush the puny 'umies and all that stand in their way. They will sweep over the whole universe and obliterate all in their path......or get packed up again when the wife wants to start having babies..... stupid babies..... with their pooping and spitting up.... I cry enuff already why would she want more of that. I'm kidding I don't hate babies. They taste like chicken. I'm slow going at this anyways. I hope to have a full fighting force of 2000pts by the end of summer. Fully painted. I got so much ork crap I could do 5000pts if I get it all done. Now that could be awhile. But there is a lot of inspiration here in DakkaDakka so hopefully I'll stay motivated. Thanks to everyone for all you support so far. It helps a lot.

Well Schank, sorry to hear you won't be able to work on your models for a little bit, but since you're already up to the painting stages on your Dredd-edd, I guess this gives me some time to catch up. Hoping for the best for you and your move man. I don't really have my own man cave, I share it with my wife, but it has our gaming PC's and all my warhammer stuff in it, so it kinda counts. Anyway, I wanted to post what I did last night. Gotta work the next 3 nights for another 3 16 hour swing shifts, so I won't be working on models again till the weekend. Have to get it all in now.



So there you go. Mine has 2 arms, and building the third as we speak, 4th arm should be done this weekend. Also added a snotling to the base and there will be a grot hanging from the turnkey on its back. Once I am done I will take some more all around pictures so people can see it all.

Awesome Frawg. It looks bad ass. Cant wait to see what it will look like painted. Hopefully we will be moved quick. We get the keys to the house today so by the weekend I hope to have all our stuff in the house. Just will have to unpack and organize. Your wife knows that models go off if they're left in cases for too long right? They need to be unpacked first, then shown some TLC to help get them acclimatised to a new work space.

Well that Mancave is coming along nicely. Still have work to be done but I have got most of my modeling stuff unpacked. Started on a group of 5 BK orks. One I'm really starting to like how its turning out. Stole the idea from the SM lighting claws. Still a wip. Also started work on the mega nob that I got from Art35. Add some paint to it and some more work on the grot trike and warboss. Still in wip phase to. Not sure who I want to do the gun arm on the warboss. Still much to be done on 'Da Brazen Klawz and the house. Once I get more of the house work done I do plan on taking Art35's advice and making a display board for 'Da Brazen Klawz. Found some old 40K buildings from the old army battle army sets that I forgot I had. I think they will do nicely for the board. Well here is a pic, not much but hope it ties you guys over for a bit.

I have to say, every model you've done so far I have been extremely impressed with. Considering the Orks show respect to Marines for being a lot like them, in the fact that they worship the Empoor like the orks do Gork and Mork, and that they are always up for a scrap, it seems only right that some of them would pay homage to Space Marines.

And if it helps them lay on the hurt more why wouldnt they "loot" something and use as their own. But also find new and fun ideas to smash their opponents into the ground. So far you have seen 'Da Hamma, 'Da Drilla, and 'Da Smasha (who when to Art35 for a trade but am working on one for my own army. He is just to cool not to make another.) Now for wip picture of 'Da Balla. Still work to be done and thinking about changing one of the balls out for something different. Not sure what yet need to rummage around in my bits ans see what I find.

Haha! Very good. I don't think you need to change the ball out. But I do think you need to move it arround. Right now it looks like it's the same as the other ball.

Agreed, turn one of the balls around, chop the spike off one, maybe add a spike to one, but no need to swap for anything else.

And I liked the idea of da ligtnin' klaws without thumbs Possibly coming to some cyborks near you soon (ish).

So I did as Art35 and monkeytroll suggested and rotated one ball and added and removed some spikes. Just got home so I hope to work on and have more to show later tonight. Not huge but here ya go.

Ok so I have had help and come up with 4 2h weapons so far. I have a 5th on I want to work on but so far no ideas. Been rummaging in by bits box for stuff that would work or that could be combined in an ork like fashion but no luck. so if any of you out there have an idea or suggestion no matter how crazy let me know. ...... Hmmm as i was typing this I was looking at the skorcha conversion I've been working on and saw the oil drum on it. Might make for a good hammer with some orkifacation done to it. But still if there are any ideas let me know.

I started work on the Nob swinging the big shoota but I'm at a stand still till I find my Dremel to do some drilling on the hands. I thought I unpacked it but no luck yet finding it.

Well still no luck finding that damn dremel. Stupid moving of stuff. But I did get another 2h boy done. Now to get some more primer. I have gray primer but I use black on 'Da Brazen klawz. Might try out the gray but I just hope it doesnt change the color tone to much. But here is what I have so far and something special I got inspired to do. Has nothing to do with my orks but it means alot to and others. Its is a wip but I'm gonna clean it up and and paint it the best I can. I have a custom base I'm going to use. So for now this is what you get.

Thank. I was thinking about doing the IG memorial as a bronze statue. With some minor weathering. Was gonna mount it on a marble block. Was thinking a really dark green marble with some almost white veins running threw it. Then with "Lost but not forgotten." written in the marble. Let me know what ya think or if any of you have a better idea.

Love the idea of the marble memorial. Do it bronze and then add some stuff that a buddy would leave as if saying goodbye.

Frawg whatever you fell like doing is fine. A nob would be cool. But so would anything ells. I do need to know how you want your done so I can get started on it. Did you just want a PK and slugga or another variant?

I was thinking about dog tags myself but still figuring out a way to make them look good. They will have to be really small so not sure how to do the chain yet.

Don't know if you are any good at working with green stuff, but I know I am not. I have seen a few really good guides on making chain and things like that out of green stuff. You could do something like that.

Go to Micheal's and find some jewelry chain.

Search the side of a road for bitz. That's what I do. Got some nice chain that way, actually, from watches and bracelets.

Wouldn't jewelry chain be to big. This chain will have to be pretty small for IG dog tags.

Make a thin "snake" out of green putty, then take a pin and push it straight into the green stuff, drag it down slightly, and the pull it out. GW did a guide on how to do the technique to make GS chainmail. That might work.

Time to get focused again. Have been dragging my feet lately with my orks. Well the wife has been dragging me around the house getting stuff done she wants done since we just moved in last month. Wife>Orks. Now if they had some special rule to beet the wife I'd be in business. But right now I have 5 ork I need to finish for myself and 1 For Frawg and 1 for prime12357. Also my warboss needs an arm and I have a meganob I got from Art35 to paint as well. My Dread-ead is finished just need to base it. After thats all done I think I'll start on a trukk. Got some bits from Art that will work perfectly. Just need to assemble it. So lets organize the list.

5x Brazen Klawz; 1x ball and chain, 1x Buzz saw choppa, 1x Lightin' Klawz, 2x Pk'z

1x Brazen Klaw Meganob for Frawg

1x Kommando for prime12357

1x Warboss; finish arm prime and paint

1x Meganob; gift from Art35 finish painting

Well made progress today. Got the foundation colors on the 5 orks for my army done. 3 are at the wash stage and 2 are ready for second set of color.

My warboss's arm has been started but still a wip.

No new work on Frawg and prime12357's ork till i can find my drill and files. Damn thing are A.W.O.L. (absent without leave)

Another has been added to the list. Doing a trade with bigfish. Need to go to hobby shop in the morning and get supplies.

So I'm moving forward again. I want all 5 of 'Da Brazen Klawz 90% done by the end of the week and finish painting prime's ork and start frawg's.

And maybe just maybe start painting my warboss.

So much to paint. So little beer.

I found the rest of my modeling supplies. My dremel and files and all of it. I'm so happy. They say if you love something let it go. And if it loves you in return it will come back. Oh happy day.


And I found the rest of my glue.

I would say that my dremel loves me, except that it seems to have developed a taste for human flesh.

Orks are looking good! always wondered what size the black orcs would be, they look to big for ard boys?

They are smaller than a nob and bigger than a boy. Thats why I think they work well for 'ard Boyz. Like in the last codex scar boyz where bigger than boyz but smaller that nobz. I kinda look at mine in the same since. Veterans but not yet Nob status. The more orks fight the bigger they get.

Well again life has gotten in my way again. Last week ended up turning into long shifts at work and left town for the weekend to see family. Cool thing about it was I got to go to the Tennessee Renaissance Festival. But to my dismay they ran out of turkey legs. That was my main reason for going. That big juicy hunk of meat of a stick that use to support that poor soul in an upright fashion. AND I WANTED TO EAT IT! So I walked around for awhile till I smelled some other kind of animal flesh. Settled for cow on a stick instead. I was disappointing.

So back to the update. Got more work done on my Warboss. I call it the paintedpotato 2.0 . For the original concept was given life by him. So this is what I have. Mostly done just have to do some more work on the gun arm.

Thats the plan. I'm gonna use him as Ghaz or is I want to field anyother type of warboss in megaarmor I have all my option open. I need to add a toothpick to it still.

I cant take all the credit. paintedpotato came up with the first one I just added my own ideas to it. But this has to be the most converted model I have ever done. Didn't really start doing alot of converting till I joined Dakkadakka.
There are alot of great people with great ideas here and they dont mind helping. I'll have to post a pick of my orks before I joined Dakkadakka.

Now you are gonna make me think. The main make up is the AoBR warboss and dreadnought, yes some trukk, deffkopta, deff dread, nob, and other bitz from my scrap box (old bitz I've cut up and save for later) and various gliphs. Good eye.

Now for something I have been working on for Frawg. He asked is he could use my Brazen Klawz in his Snake Bite army. Gonna be used as meganobz. I think it was awesome that he asked and said yes but only if I could make one for him as well. I'm getting a sweet looking nob in return but in the process of making his meganob I kinda wish I would have said no. Because now I wish I did all my Brazen klawz this way. My earlier conversions where simple and I had some more fun with this one. First 4 pics are without the head as you can tell but the last one will be with the head. I think Frawg will be pleased.

I have some stuff I need to seend you anyways. But I've got some BT tank spurs if you want also. 'Da Howlin' Grifinz could be cool also if you wanted to incorperate the red and yeloow form your other army. But like me you might get tired of the same colors over and over again.

I'm sorry!!! Stupid new house is taking up more time than I thought. And the wife keeps planning stuff on the weekends so no ork time then. but you are right I have been slacking and I need to get my butt in gear. But in good news my warboss is almost ready to paint and so is Frawg's ork. I have the foundation paint on the other 5 I'm working on done and the meganob I got from Art35. just have to wash 2nd coat, highlights, then battle damage and they will be done. Easier said than done. But I do hope to have more the end of the week.

As to date I have 10 orks finished, A Dread-ead, killa kan with 2 primed and ready to paint, and one meganob. I need to make a points goal every month or week. Say 100 points a week at least. I've been kinda slow lately so I'm trying to make a goal I can obtain. But I will have more out there this week for you guys to look at and maybe if I get home after work and get to painting I might have something tonight. We can only hope.

I'd definitely be interested to see what you've got for BT Tank sprues. If you have at least one FW BT Door, that would be perfect.

Slaanehi orks! I think it has been decided that would be a bad idea cause orks + boobs = barf. But 'Da Emprah's Shroooms could be some cool conversions.

Once I get caught up on my trades and started orks that I have begun painting on I'm gonna tackle that warboss. He may take awhile to paint. But like you always say slow is best. Well maybe not those exact words.

Man I'm dumb I also forgot that I got alot of work done on 3 orks. The blue is all done and one last highlight of read the some battle damage and heads. Once they are done I'll have 5 2handers finished.
Also got the mold lines scraped off on Frawgs so he is ready to prime and paint. So no slacking tonight Moltar. Made some progress today. Gonna knock out some more in the morning.

So as I said in my last post I would post some pics of what I did last night. If you notice the ork on the far right it is very close to the one I painted for Art35. I loved how that model turned out so much I had to make myself one. Wont be exactly the same since I dont have the grot head that I used on his and only 3 spikes on the tire unlike the 6 on his. But all thats left really on these three are the red highlights, battle damage and skin tone. And the heads for 2.

Off the orky topic. Here is a pick Art35 of the BT spure I was telling you about. I have 2 of them in total. All pieces accounted for. Let me know if they will work for what you have in mind.

And Frawg I got your ork primed today.

WM360 has a good idea there I just havent been able to get to it yet. I want to get the main force done fisrt and gonna use the Deff Watch as Kommandos I think. But Falsh Gitz aint a bad idea either.

Still at work for a few more hours but plan to go hoome and piant some more. Hopefully finish an ork or 2 or 3. Still have the Lighting Klaw ork to finish and 2 others after the 2 handers are done. Then I think it may be Warboss time after that. Not sure if I should do him or start on a trukk next. Prime12357's kommando is almost done. Not gonna post a pic till its finished in the GMS. So I was able to get some painting done. Yahoo!!!

Its a group pic of the 2handers I've done so far. Still need head on 2 and battle damage on three. Well head on three if you count the grot. But i'm happy with what I got done and now its bead time.

Well the only problem I have had with the nose surgery so far is I kinda look like Voldamort from Harry Potter.

Well a chubbier version with glasses at least.

Ok just a fluffy guy with with shreaded meat were his nose used to be.

It was a bad idea in general. I don't recomend it. So if you ever need to get alot of work done put your nose to the super fluffy sonfness of fluffiness.

It wont hurt as bad and children wont scream when you go into the hobby store.

@ Schank: I checked and do not have the grot from the Stormboyz, sorry. I do have a bunch of building stuff...mostly floors and those spikey bits. I'll try to get them out this next week.

@ Art35: I got the rest of the defiler and those BT bitz. Is there anything more you may need? I may have some BT SM bitz to. And that dread buzz say I used for the 'uge choppa. Sending that back so you can make one.

Yea the Black orcs are making a huge splash in 40k. Lots of people have been converting them for their armies. Ya just have to love the 'ugeness of them.

No painting done so far this weekend. Been enjoying the sun. But I did get the foundation colors done on Frawgs ork and the heads have all been started. So mabe later tonight I'll have something for ya guys to look at.

Trying to get everything that I started finished so I can start on my trukks and battle wagon. Have a side project I'm working on but you guys wont see that till its all done. But now its food time so I'll be back later.

I got very lucky when getting my black orcs. There was a shop going out of business and picked up alot of stuff for 75% off. And the Black orcs where part of that find.

Long time no update. Well about 4 day. 12 hour days at work mean little painting time.

But I've got a little something tonight. Got some more work done on a trade I'm doing with Frawg. About 80% done.

Still some minor work left. And for those of you who are wondering its on a larger base cause he plans on using it as a meganob.

Also for prototype_X. I took picture of the base when I was making it. Gonna do that tutorial you asked me to do a while back.

I'll post that tomorrow. So here is what I got done.

Thanks. Its a tribute to Mario Brothers and Frawgs Dread. Even though I came up with the Dread-ead ideal lol. He just finished his first.

But to move things along. I'm gonna use this week to finish all those orks I have started that are just sitting around. The Dread-ead is just the first. The next one in the line up is the MANZ I got from Art35.

And I have made some progress on him today. Got the foundation painting done and the fist wash. Gonna have more on him done tonight but damn those washes take forever to dry.

So here is the progress so far. Sorry Art35 I had to rip off his arms to paint him. But he we be as good as new soon.
