Yes. Yes YES! I was thinking spare rokkets on the back as well. But a bionic arm for the rokket hammer is a great idea. Which also takes me into the realm of rokket arms.
Man I’m really slow at this. Haven’t done a lot at all the past couple weeks. But I did manage to get a tank busta painted and another ready for paint. So captain boom boom is painted. Changed the color scheme. I always do when I start back up on my orks. Don’t know why but I do. And I took monkeytrolls advice and added hoses to the rocket boy and a rocket pack. Gonna start painting him next. But here are some pics with this minor update.
Thanks monkeytroll. One of my favorite parts about orks is the converting. But you where right he needed something on the back. So I started it without the extra rokkit and then thought Of Boba Fetts back pack and added the rokkit and I really like how t turned out. So thanks for the plastic-fu training. Gonna get some paint on him tonight I hope.
So it’s been a bit since I’ve posted anything but I’ve got some work done on my tank bustaz but it’s evolved more into a kill team. Did some kit bashing last night and today.
So long between updates. I have had little time to work on anything but the last 2 days I have been able to get some painting done. And I think I have made some good progress. Going to name my kill team Gorrukz Crushaz. I haven’t finished Gorruk yet but I have got 4 table top ready. Started on 2 more. So I’m hoping to have 6 finished by the end off the week. Now if I could only find a way to freeze time and get some more work done. I have a week off coming up but I have to redo some flooring in my house but I’m hoping to get some work done. We have a local kill team campaign coming up on the 16th and a painting competition on the 19th for our kill teams. The rules for it are you have to have a painted leader and 3 specialist with 2 regular members. So a total of 6 painted kill team members. So I’m hoping to have them done and then some by then.
Monkeytroll. I paint the ones you like first. Wasn’t sure what to do best and read your post so it made it easy. Thanks.
Yea it’s not gonna be fun but it should be pretty straight forward. Some weird cuts but not many.
Made some more progress today. Got the last kamando finished. And started some work on the nobz. Got most of the base layer down. But holy crap if gork and mork arnt blessing me right now. I just cannot get in the grove to paint today or do anything else. Been forcing myself to do what I’ve done so far today. Got to get these nobz done and the 2 burnaz by the 18th. Blaaaahhhhhh!
But the nice thing about the nobz from black reach is I found a use for them. Some arm chopping and swapping. I really like how they are turning out.
Thanks Monkeytroll. I was able to get them all done and in time for the paint competition. Had to be a fully painted 100 pt kill team. 9 models total. Went with higher pt orks so there would be one or two less to paint. But it consists of.
Komando Nob w/ P.Klaw - 16 pts
Nob w/ P.Klaw and combi burna - 18 pts
Burna boy - 12 pts
Burna boy - 12 pts
Ork Gunna w/ rockets - 10 pts
4 x Komando Boyz - 32 pts
And the cool thing is I took first. Won a $50 gift card so I got some Reavers for my SM Kill Team. Been looking and the grappling gun and grav shutes. At 1 pt each makes them 18 pts per and it looks super nice for going up and down terrain. Really liking the whole kill team thing. I guzzled down that kool-aid. But here are some pics of Gorrukz Crushaz and a very early mock up of a reaver. Think I’m gonna call them the Screaming Eagles.
Thanks monkey. My next two kill teams are Primaris SM and Genestealer Cult. I am really enjoying kill team so far and like the fact you don’t have to paint a lot of models for a kill team. I’ve got enough bits I’ve collected over the years I should be able to make most of the kill teams minus gray knights and harlequins.
So got some work done on the screaming eagles. The first one is looking good so far and the next two still have a ways to go. Getting the tooth and claw set today for my birthday from my sister. So that will finish off both my SM and GSC Kill trams. Also the test model I did for my GSC a little while back.
Those strange un-orky guys are looking perfect for playability.
The Reivers could use some edge highlights and the GSC test model could have some details picked out (cuff holding the pick on his wrist and tubes/pipes) to take them to the next level but the colors are good.
Thanks pointer5 and CK. I really like how the orange turned out as well. It’s one you don’t see to often but looks great on the table. Like CK’s grotz. One of the better looking use of stances I’ve seen done.
Got some more work done on those none orks things. Need to get may hands on some more shoulder pads but I got a death watch buddys that are gonna book me up with some more. Gonna need at least 6 more. Got to start the last member of the team. But here is what I’ve got so far. Still need to do the bases and some touch up layers and high lights.
Nice orange in the background! . In all seriousness though, I really like the muted colours on those reavers. Lovely colour transitioning on the blade as well.
Thanks. I wanted them to be less flashy that my orks and more of a traditional military color scheme. Kinda was thinking how would I paint guardsmen and used that idea for the Marines. Thanks on the sword as well. It took a few tries and some tips from my local club but I think I have it where I want it.
So a minor bit of work. Did some work on the bases but got to let the washes dry before I can continue. But I’m like them. Used some of the same colors as my ork bases but want them to be a little bit different.
Did some work on the bases. CK I took your advice and used some Nurgle Rot on the rusted bits. Then I played around with the Nihilakh Oxide in the recesses of the rest. I like how it turned out. I hope you can see it from the pic. The I started my sniper with a stalker bolt rifle. Wanted to pull the orange from my orkz into Mohawk. The the first layer done so far. No wash or highlights. Stared kit bashing some normal marines from the Death Watch and regular marine bits to give them a similar look as the rest.
Been a bit since my last updat. I’ve done some painting just have been lazy posting. So 2 Kill Teams are ready minus 2 bases I have to finish. But started my third. Doing Death Guard next amongst other things. But thanks everyone for the help. But in this order 1) Gorrukz Boyz. 2) The Screaming Eagles. 3) The Putrid Cure
The next 2 for my Death Guard Kill Team. Gonna get a full roster for this one. There are a lot of cool options with this team. Thinking at least 7-9 Death Guard with 5 pox walkers to fill in point gaps. Gives me some diversity with missions and opposing teams.
Lol not really it just fell that way. I still love the look of the raptors. And there are still a lot of kill teams to do. I’ve got enough bits to do a nice necron and tau kill team. Have some dark elder stuff floating around and my GSC is gonna be some brighter colors. I’ve got my test model mostly done for them.
Everything in multiples of 7 would be brilliant, some dedication to Nurgle . GSD is looking nice as well, the orange draws the eye towards the face in a very natural way.
That’s my plan. I’ve got some more done on the next 2. And working on which pox walkers I want to use. But it coming along nicely. And I like the orange as well just need to get more of them painted. And them my stupid Brain went and thought Let’s pairs Necrons! So I did. Did some kit bashing on my leader and slapped some paint on him. Oh and here is an update on the Death Guard.
Been a bit since I’ve posted. So much life and not enough plastic. But I was able to get some work done on some orkz. With the new commander out wanted to expand the roster for the 200 pt missions. 3 more kamandoz and the warboss. I plan on doing 2 more burnaz, 2 lootaz, 3 more kamandoz. That will get me about 200 pt without a warboss then I can play around with the numbers if I do or can take the warboss. Hoping to have them finished by the end of the month. But we will see.
