I was intrigued by your rainbow deamons so i checked out your gallery. That bloodletter painted like lava is very impressive.

You know that sinking feeling when...

Your bored so you decide to start an Ork army.
I told myself i didnt want to start an Ork army, 1 green army is enough. Myself told me that you are bored of painting that particular shade of green and have had a gut full of painting guardsmen and should start an Speedfreak/Deathskulls army. *Has nervous breakdown at thought of painting another 100+ models.*

I almost never use dreads because of this silliness. Finally put one in in the last game I played and once again just as it got into range with its twinlinked heavy bolter it rolled a 1 and fired on my own troops. It then promptly blew up in my opponent's next turn without having accomplished anything and *only* shooting at my own troops. Sigh...

Have a few of the Forge World chaos dreads because I love the models, but almost never use them on the table top.

When you fix a painting mistake, and create another while you're doing it, over a mixed colour you don't think you can re-create.

Ooohhhhh I hate that. I've done it so many times too... i even flung one of my marines across the room once after i realised what i'd done. He simpily bounced off the wall with not a scratch on him. That armour save of 3 pays off.

I did a stealthsuit with blends of inky purple and blue that looked like oil on water. A year later, i wanted desert camo instead. So, i painted it over, only to realize how much better the original paintjob looked.

Elysians use real paratrooper tactics. Hug cover and use manouvering as your advantage. Using valkyries is very important against armies like Nightwings.

This is true. For Ork Burnas. Not so sure about other armies, because it has to specifically state that in the Ork Codex.

Post by: Ascalam

Um.

Not true even then

A Burna is a power weapon, not a Power Klaw. It strikes at your strength, and only works if you DIDN"T use it as a flamer that round.

Flamers are not CC weapons at all for other armies, as far as i know.

The only CC weapons that double your strength are power klaws/fists and Thunderhammers, as far as i know. There may be others in codexes i don't have.

Yes, but that's not gonna help them very much. My broadsides alone still kill 5 per round. And that's IF they don't have plasma.

I know there are still twenty...I said my whole army shoots. Not JUST the broadsides. Plus, with plasma, I would get 13.5 hits, 9.33 wounds, and 6.11 un saved wound. With a multitracker, the broadsides could use plasma AND railguns, meaning 11 dead termies per turn, plus the rest of my army firing...

Only Ork burnas count as power weapons in close combat, and *only* if you didn't shot them as flamers in the shooting phase.

Either way a power weapon operates at the model's strength *only* and gets its big boost from the fact that it ignores armor.

A power fist/power klaw doubles the user's base strength up to a maximum of 10 and also have the ignore armor aspect of other power weapons. A thunderfist also doubles base strength I believe.

I have to admit I actually did this one to my friend, the look on his face was so good I thought he was going to pass out.

It seems like you cheated. You can't multi-assault if you shot.

yes you can, you just have to assault what you shot at, but you can assault more. and with flamers you can easily hit 2 squads at the same time

That sinking feel you get when your deep strike scatter comes up with your models base barely scratching your opponents... and they deploy them into the far corner instead... and they're assault terminators, and the enemy is atleast another 3 ft away with lascannons...

That more than enough armour for a 1750 game. At that points level, I usually take a bunch of broadsides and suits, one FW squad with DF, 1 HH, a small PF squad and a whole gakload of kroot. That way you have your kroot mega-units protecting your objectives, one mobile squad that can claim an objective once your XV8s clear it, and one mobile squad that can contest an objective.

Plus your XV88s will make anything with an AV gak itself.

I politely told him that this wasn't the store's brush and he should ask if he can use it, and that it is terrible for the brush to basecoat with it. I was nice to him, he didn't know any better.

I see the point cost of the monstrous creature I took

guard shooting phase happens

multiassault is declared

my friends rolls his purple dice (roll aberrantly high, we all use them)

warp lance fails to kill something

strength 8 wounds are inflicted

AP 5 wounds are inflicted

genies fail to rend

my zoanthrope falls over again

space marines get out of a rhino

I wreck a vehicle in a stupid place and it blocks me from shooting/assaulting/moving

when I accidentally explode a vehicle I wanted to wreck for cover

the rupture cannon misses

AP 3 wounds happen

my friend points out his lowest save model is the same as my highest save

my opponent says "conversion beamer", or "orbital strike centered on"

the marines hide in the rhino and completely negate the gaunts' ability to do anything then disembark on the other side, drive the rhino our of the way and rapid fire the whole squad to death

a single ymargl won't fit and it screws everything up

the game ends too early

He mentioned tau, ofc he meant shoot her too death.

The only alternative is to tarpit her in a never-ending mass of kroot. Last I checked almost 200 can fit into the Tau FoC, more if it weren't for 1+ Firewarriors.

Newcron 'Lith WAAAY softer.

And castling with tau isn't a very good idea, they're fast, use it. Castling invites LBT from Smug IG bastards.

One good way to use that though is to wait until they're all up in your tau's faces and deepstrike everything that's able to deepstrike behind them and open up with plasma missile pods and burst cannons until everything is dead.

You realise that your enemy's drop pod just discharged a multimelta dread behind your super-expensive battlewagon.

You try the tactic above and the dreadnought misses. (so much for hundreds of years of experience...)

You have your close-combat CSM
army deployed, with Zerkers and a lord, and see that the enemy uses grey knights.

You have your strategy centered around your land raider, and you see that the enemy has 2 vendettas.

When you loose all of your units, still haven't gotten a single kill point, and give 2 kill points to you opponent thanks to demo packs falling back on the guardsmen. Who can't throw for crap.

SHHHHH! people don't like hearing about tau! I do, but everyone out here acts like tau is some kind of taboo.

...When you realize that I went mentally insane 2 weeks ago, but have been too busy talking to myself to notice.

When you think back to last nights game at the FLGS and realise the guy you played at 1000 points brought an extra 330 points to the game.

The realisation that he then only brought 1 troop choice and you didn't notice.

When you then consider that you played that army yourself for quite a while, and didn't notice the extra units creeping in.

fir those interested, I lost that game with only two Terminators and a Dakkanought left.

Shameless advertising via sig? Why not; It's going in now

Chaos Marines. I was playing Deathwing. Turn 1 the Dread pops his defiler with three penetrating hits, then later in the game his Termies get picked apart by small arms fire in one turn... yeah, I think he made the decision to bring in more "reserves" at that point. There was also other stuff going on, like one minute his Vindicators have Daemonic possession, then next they're shooting at BS4.

Oh no, hope the dog is ok! (The clanrat may need some serious cleaning though)

When one of the rocks representing one of his melee models is 8" across and can wreck the face of an entire unit and his shooters are pebbles.

I do, more or less, but I still refer to the book for vehicle crap.
