I think it effects XP. But not credits. To my understanding, credits are given out to the team for your achievements (10 melee kills, 25 assists, and so on), for completing missions quickly (the time bonus) and completing them period, and for completing the match.

I used to play the multiplayer quite a bit when ME3 came out. I sort of stopped after the most recent of the MP DLCs. As far as I remember, any class with energy drain will do just fine. For most non soldier or infiltrator classes, the carnifex is by far the most worthwhile weapon in the game.

Huh. Great when the power description not even suggests this.
But I suppose it makes sense, it being a biotic ability. Should've been able to guess that.
Melissia wrote:the closest you can get to an Asari soldier
The classic Asari Commando for me is the Asari Adept, like so:
http://narida.pytalhost.com/me3/classes/#Adept/Asari/DQKNJ/Avenger10AC5AF5/Paladin10AZ5AI5////
People are quick to dismiss the Avenger, but on level 10 it is surprisingly effective ... especially if you use short, controlled bursts and aim for the head.
I noticed a lot of people play the Adept with a pistol to maximise cooldown efficiency, but focusing on the assault rifle and using biotics just as a sort of bonus is so much more fun. You go in guns blazing, all the while tossing out biotic attacks left and right. Devastating.
The Asari Huntress is just as awesome, though. I've always loved both the Asari Adept and the Human Infiltrator. Imagine my grin as I was drawing the Huntress out of a Reserves Pack. If I wouldn't miss Throw so much, I'd never go back.

Far, FAR more fragile than the sentinel build I mentioned above. I wasn't referring to Asari Commandos. I was referring to a "soldier", IE heavily armed and armored combat specialist.

Turian Soldier is fun. When I last played one I was using a Phaeston. Largely due to style reasons (I like to be RPG'ish even in Multiplayer), but it works surprisingly well when combined with the Marksman ability. "Suppressive fire" gets a whole new meaning there.
Geth Juggernaut is something I really want to try. It sounds like playing a walking tank.

Best shields in the game, the ability to replenish its shields and stun enemies for several seconds (and then stagger them afterwards) through hitting enemies with its heavy melee, and 40% damage reduction on a character that is very hard to stun (I only recall praetorian melee stunning me) and impossible to be grabbed in an instant-kill attack (such as by banshees or phantoms). And it has the ability to deploy cover and/or a "geth turret" that can replenish shields to nearby allies, and has an inherent gameplay mechanic where it draws the aggro of enemies more than other players do. "Walking tank" is accurate. Just don't ask it to run, dodge, or jump over cover. It can't do any of those.

Kind of/sort of.
The objective waves (Three, six, and ten) all have an "operation" which has to be completed. You have a set amount of credits you can gain from that "operation", with the number fluctuating based upon the completion time for the "operation". As a rough guideline, for completing a full game to Wave 10 or not extracting:
You're looking at anywhere from 9000ish (if you're very slow on completing objectives) to 12000ish credits on a Bronze match.
28000 to 30000 credits for Silver, 68000 to 70000 for Gold, and 110000ish for Platinum.
Surviving the Extraction Wave and being on the shuttle nets you 10% of your overall gained credits on top of the credits you would gain from the completion of your match.

I meant you winning the round, as in coming first. As opposed to the other players. It just seems to me a pride thing, though it'll make you feel like less of a twit, I guess if someones playing say, a Geth Juggernaut or a Volus and coming last, despite being ultra helpful in the game.

You really do not need any kind of Stability Module on the Turian. There's no reason to not take his recoil & stability perk at least once in his Turian Veteran tree (I like to go Power Damage & Weight Capacity[Evolution 4B], Power Damage[Evolution 5A], and Damage+Stability [Evolution 6B]) for a Turricane build. I skip Concussive Shot in favor of buffing up Proximity Mine(evolved for Radius, Vulnerability on targets affected by Proximity Mine, and Damage), Fitness(full shield buffs), Veteran, and Marksman(Firing Rate, Duration, and Accuracy+Damage) to full and play a kind of support role to my team.
It works fairly well. I cannot stand using the Harrier on anything at this point as the thing is just so...overused. I prefer my Valkyrie on anything that does not have Marksman. Nope. No credit bonuses in that regard.
Bear in mind that most people regard "scoreboarding" as a bad thing.

Yeah, scoreboarding is silly. The point is to survive the round and complete objectives quickly, both in-character and from the rewards you get.

I would agree about the "scoreboarding" (is that a word? ) - but ... I dunno about you people, I for one feel bad when I'm last on the scoreboard. It may be a false association to have (especially regarding the aforementioned support roles), but to me it comes across as being "the weakest link" of the squad, so to say.

I really just don't understand some people...
I ended up in a game with this guy yesterday. I'm not exactly certain about how well they did in the game, though it didn't strike me out as anything special.
Being the sad guy that I am, I did some maths. Based on those stats.
71 days straight played.
On average, they have been playing 12 games a day, minimum.
The maths seem to work out in favour of that 1720h total time.
I mean, seriously... Yikes. I honestly thought I played the [url=http://social.bioware.com/n7hq/?name=compelbast&platform=pcgame[/url] too much.

Nah, I've still got five hours more than you.
That said, I also took a looong break after Operation Silencer in May and only began playing again a week ago or so, thanks to being intrigued by the Citadel DLC. In retrospect, I should've probably played more back then, at least until I got that last customisation unlock for my Asari Adept - who knows how long it will take now with all those new cards...
The 71 days guy is crazy, though.

The gameplay is definitely fast, furious and addicting. It's far from perfect though and I'm encountering a high frustration level with it, however.
Lag is rampant and I often find my character warping/lagging out, and shooting at things that aren't there, and dying a lot.
Also, not every player seems to grasp the cooperative, team-based nature of the game. Instead they seem to want to try and Rambo it on their own.
In fact more often than not I fail the Bronze level on Wave 6 or 7. Forget the Silver or Gold levels, no one plays them and everyone dies almost immediately.

You know, now that I think of it, I really wish they'd make a DLC mission pack that added single player missions to Palaven's moon, Sur-Kesh, Tuchanka, Rannoch, Thessia, etc-- so that we'd get to spend more time on said planets/moons, and feel like we made a little more of an impact. I think we have missions in each of those places in multiplayer, but it's not part of Shepard's story. :/

Post by: Compel
The multiplayer missions on many of those areas are kind of already based on those in the game already.
Firebase Goddess is almost an exact copy of the temple where you fight the Gunship on Thessia.
Firebase Jade is very similar to the 'retrieve the krogan female' mission on Surkesh.
Firebase Giant is an N7 mission on Tuchanka.
Though, it would be nice to do some stuff on the others - like Firebase Rio, returning to Vancouver.
Oh well, here's to Dragon Age: Inquisition!

I suppose the necessary balancing component of multiplayer maps - threats from all directions, defensive positions everywhere - just doesn't lend itself well to the more narrative-focused linear style of singleplayer maps.
In multiplayer, you spend minutes running back and forth, all over the place. In SP, you generally move from A to B. This makes SP maps appear slightly more realistic and "open-world", even when you're being railroaded.
Also, I noticed just now that BW is no longer running events and won't release new multiplayer DLCs. Just as I was getting back into the game.
Meh, guess it was just a matter of time and we should be thankful that it lasted as long as it did. At least it's still fun even without the events.
Macok: My pleasure! I've just been looking for a way to present my build and figured there's a good chance someone came up with a tool like that. I had not known of it before either.

Yup. Here's hoping that perhaps the next ME game will have multiplayer again, too.
Until then .. maybe I can some day finally get that friggin last customisation unlock that just keeps eluding me. It's gotten to a point where I'd rather spend 1.000.000 credits on it rather than keep opening packs with random BS. My experience with this system was exactly as I predicted when the system was first announced.

Pretty much;
http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/Elcor
Elcor warriors don't carry small arms; their broad shoulders serve as a stable platform for the same size of weapons typically mounted on Alliance fighting vehicles. According to an elcor diplomat on the Citadel, elcor soldiers are called "living tanks" by their enemies, among other less flattering names

Yes and no.
They're "done" with events and the like, as the team for ME3's multiplayer(which included individuals from the singleplayer team) have moved on. They are starting to work on the next (quoting here) "entries" in the franchise--or in the case of some individuals, their contracts were up and they're moving on to other things.
They're continuing to support the multiplayer. Servers are not going to be shut down, the N7 Hub is going to remain up, and they're still going to be doing ban waves for exploiters/cheaters.

Man I'm such a newb! I kept wondering where people got all this elite stuff I see on the forums etc. Never realized there were 5 free expansion packs!
Now I'm stylin with my N7 Demolisher and Alliance Infiltration Unit, she's my fav so far, melee ninja skills!
Also unlocked the ultra rare reaper adept thingy, but haven't played him yet.
Game just loves to give me shotguns, and sniper rifles. Still stuck with 2 assault rifles, 2 pistols and 2 smg. But I got some good shotguns, love the graal spike thrower and reaper plasma shotgun.
Been playing a few Silver missions and doing ok, don't always make it to the end.
Having tons of fun, even if I am late to the party

Give it time, you'll get more stuff. Rarely the things you are hoping for, but often enough other cards that may be just as fun if you're lucky.
The rest is just a matter of experience and trained reflexes. Weapon mods help a lot, and don't forget that you can now also get permanent gear mods that - unlike the other equipment consumables - are good for more than just a single round! I'm mostly using Assault Loadout there; gives me +2 thermal clips and +6% weapon damage.
Oh, and welcome to the party.
29408
Post by: Melissia
Meanwhile, if you're unlucky like me, you can get a bunch of weapons you don't want and almost no wepaon mods, including not having any of the armor penetration weapon mods that make using weapons in gold or platinum actually a viable strategy. Hell, I have only two sniper rifle mods total after all this time-- the +damage barrel and the extra thermal clips.

Post by: Cave_Dweller
It is a total crapshoot isnt it? I got some nice sniper rifles, the Javelin is kinda cool, but the delay thing bothers me. Also the N7 rare one, but I haven't used it.
At first I really hated the shotguns, but now they're my favorite.
So is there a Dakka group for PC? Would love to play with some people who are good! Not saying I suck, I'm far from the best though. But the random PUGs do get tiresome. Sometimes they're good, sometimes fail on bronze on wave 5-6 lol.

Finally unlocked Quarian (Female) Engineer, so now I think I might try to actually play a proper engineer class instead of the N7 grenadier class, heh. I have it set up to spam fire explosions (incendiary rounds on a light assault rifle + flamethrower on turret + incinerate) at the moment, although I know that there are probably better builds based around the cryo blast -> incinerate combo.

I gotta say the Salarian engineer is my killiest char so far, the shield drain + fire explosions, and now finally a new assault rifle, the Phaeston, cleans house. I usually start silver rounds with him vs. Geth for easy kills.

The Salarian Engineer is a Platinum level character when paired with the following:
-Cryo Rounds IV
-Falcon X
OR
-Any level of Scorpion
-Geth/Cerberus enemies
Continually Energy Drain shielded targets for protection. When fighting Cerberus, Energy Drain can also be used on standard goons to ensure they get staggered.
Incinerate targets, even if they have shields up, and immediately Energy Drain for Fire Explosions!
Incinerate targets that you have frozen with the Falcon/Scorpion for Cryo Explosions!
Decoy is, of course, phenomenal if you use it as a detonation mechanism for fire explosions as well...
