Just wondering.

Nah, corpses wouldn't count unless you want them to! I would count any live minis, though (and you tank+gunner would only count at 1!)

I haven't checked in for a while, some great stuff, I can tell my votes are going to be hard fought for.
@mad_eddy_13: Awesome plasticard work on that little vehicle, it's very basic but you've pulled that off to an advantage, it doesn't look like a box on wheels! my only critique would be the multi-melta, it looks a little unbalenced, otherwise fantastic work
@Arclaw: About damn time we saw some infinity! I know how tiny and hard to paint those models are, great work!
@queen_annes_revenge: fantastic little diorama, how did you do the water effects?
@ckig: wow, very nice shading on the purple, really looking forward to seeing that finished.
As to my own entry...
...I've not managed to get any more done on my entry, its a distinct possibility that I won't finish, I'll try though.
Best of luck all on the final week!

So, possibly it was a bad idea to commit to building a superheavy flyer as my entry and wait until I finished my previous WIP to start painting it. Oh well. Painting has started and maybe I'll be able to enter a mostly-done shot of it, even if the last weathering won't be done.

That's a really convincing scratchbuild you've done there, Midget Gems (Love that name too.. I could murder a bag of Midget Gems).
In terms of CC, I'd be willing to bet that your mini looks much better in person than in your pics because the lighting in your pictures isn't great. I really struggle with that aspect of this competition too.
If you've got time before the deadline, have you ever tried checkers? I find they break up large panels on Ork vehicles really nicely. They don't have to be neat; in fact the more haphazardly daubed onto the buggy the better!
All in all, great job man!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to concede defeat this month.
Had I had the weekend to work on my entry I reckon I would've made it but, alas, I only have myself to blame for that.
I didn't even have time to set up my crappy light box so it's a backward step in terms of photo quality as well (hard as that may be to believe for those of you that saw my effort last month).
Anyway, thanks Paradigm for once again doing such a grand job & good luck everyone!

@NidLifeCrisis: If THAT is defeat, your victories must be really sweet! Looks good even if it is somehow unfinished!
As for my entry, I should have final pics up tomorrow, possibly the next day depending on how much I get done. All that is left is a couple of tiny touchups and to finish the bases (texture paint is already applied, still need to wash and drybrush and add grass tufts).

@Jan - I love the bikes. You've done them proud. I was playing with the idea of having one driving over a rock ramp too - it just looks cool! I'd thought that I would need to feed a support wire into the rear wheel to hold it in place. Was that necessary or did it hold by itself?

Thanks for the comments Paradigm, TP^ DC Deputy Manager, Januine, Inflatable love badger and NidLifeCrisis they made me very happy. I'm very much looking forward to next months challenge now and trying to plan something ambitious.
My name came from when I first started playing online games mainly Delta Force and CS on my 56k connection (fun times) and I've kept it ever since.
Breaking up the red is an interesting idea, I did think of the white and black goff style checkers but when you mention yellow I could also try a yellow and black danger strip on some bits too, I'll put that into the next build and try zenithal lighting as well, never done it before but will be interesting to learn also one of the reasons I'm entering if I can learn 1 new thing a month I'll view it as a success.
I did try to make a light box for the photos out of left over packing wood from my dishwasher, 2 lamps and a linen sheet but it didn't quite work, maybe need more light and a proper camera.

Nice! Used to love DF and CS on 56k, having to aim 5 inches in front of moving targets..... Arrrrr the joy. My name originally came from that era too, started as Silent Dagger became Silent Badger then gradually got altered by other players word by word over the years, still revert back to the original for games that don't let me use enough letters sometimes.

Cheers folks @TP - The piece of fallen wall he's ramping off is just foamboard so I had to drill a hole in the pillar on the wheel, sg a lenghth of paperclip into it and then feed it down through the rubble and into the base to make it sturdy. All worked out pretty well

Zergsmasher and FearPeteySodes - both great jobs!
FearPeteySodes - the detail is incredible and is at least ten times better than what I'll likely end up submitting. I love the conversion of the gunner at the back, makes the model feel more dramatic.
Zergsmasher - your hounds are really good, I can't make out he colour of the collars in the photos, but can't see that they are Bronze. You pulled that entry together very quickly and to a good standard, they definitely look furious! One comment that I seem to make a lot is that you should think about trying to take photos in better quality light with a plain background. Your models will stand out so much better if you do. My iPhone is working well for WIP, but I've learnt I need to dig out my camera for final shots. I had to discount entries last time from my votes if I couldn't make out details because the contest was so tight. Sell your minis, they're fab!

First of all, go to YouTube. Search 'Ride of the valkyries'. Skip to the cool part. Then read this. 5 pics, right? Spoilered down below, if you want more I've put them all in my P&M Blog, check the link in my signature for it. The Angels of Iron. A thousand years ago, during one of the many crusades of Chaos, the Emperor punished the chapter for letting some of their battle-brothers fall to Chaos. Almost every single Marine was executed, spare for a hundred Assault Marines, who fled to a distant planet, where they entered an induced coma. When Chaos reached that planet, the Warp started whispering to them. The Emperor had killed their brothers. The Emperor had betrayed them. The Emperor is their enemy. Sometimes, one can see Angels of Iron assist Daemon Prince Garaghak in his crusade. They appear out of nowhere, and shout their hatred against the Emperor out from their speakers. If Space Marines are the Angels of Death, these are the Daemons of Death. Story time over! That's my entry for this month. This is a huge step for me, because this is the first time I try OSL. Look at the Plasma Pisto, and the Jump Packs. Eh?

Lighting in my room sucks so I will grab some better photos first thing tomorrow morning. So you can see I've finished here it is with the varnish just drying off while i took some shots.

Another last minute stunner there, TazN! I'll probably do the final thread about 1pm or so tomorrow, so you've got all morning to get the pics up (same for anyone else doing late-night panic-painting!)

Para - didn't get any painting done so my last WIP is where I am right now. Needed to be Dad tonight, not painter. Sorry. I can't remember what the rules were about whether you needed a WIP or not, but it's there anyway.

I'm not late, am I? I hate bases so much I couldn't finish it before the end, oh well, he is on somewhere with a white floor.

Nice gems, Taz!
Well, I am nowhere near done, but I'll put up a WIP. Between problems with the wings and real life (I got a job *yay* Hermes the hamster has a tumor *boo*), this is all I got done. I think I'll call him Sargent Wobbles because of the trouble he gave me. Wobbles is in the spoiler.
For those who decide to magnetize a hive tyrant, pin the wings, otherwise they wiggle like crazy when you move the model. I had no idea that paint could throw off the fit of a magnet so bad...

this guy is a project for the NOVA Open charity auction, for organizations like The Wounded Warrior project, and Doctors Without Borders...

Well, if possible then of course!

Oi, Para! I have an idea for next subject poll: Swarm. You can enter up to 15 models, but they have to be associated with a horde or a swarm.

Lessons learned: don't pick a superheavy flyer for your model and then wait until halfway through the month to start painting because the previous month's project isn't finished yet. At least the contest was some motivation to finally get started on it, and maybe in a month or two I can actually start one of these at the beginning of the month.

Well, my little epic tank is done but, I've been so busy i have not photographed it. I'll copy some pictures from Facebook just as proof to satisfy myself, I don't expect to be voted for though anyways, since it is now the first. I am proud of it due to being the first mini, blah blah, plus the clearcoat disaster.
However if you do put the pictures up, just use the first four. The last one is to show what the base would have been.

Ok managed to get some better shots as it's nice and bright in the UK today!
This will likely be my last entry for a month or 2 now as I'm not going to have the time to dedicate to painting with the puppy being able to go out and generally needing more attention than before. I will still be painting my BA 2nd company and I will keep updates on my P&M blog linked in my sig so please drop by and let me know what you think of those.
For this months competition I've been blown away by the amount of amazing ideas and painting skill displayed, some truly stunning work guys and girls! I will keep a close eye on the next few comps and give feedback and praise to all as I know how much it has helped me keep motivated.
Hope you all like it, I certainly enjoyed painting all the freehand this month. Slightly annoying but as the photos dont really show it but the 'runes' towards the back are done in satin varnish so they catch the light slightly more than the rest of the hull which is done in matt and the gems are done in a gloss.

Well, just for the record, this is how it ended up. Not entirely happy (and OMG what happened to the photos???) with the end result, but admittedly once challenge was over it ended up with "naah, it's only for the table top"...
