So, since this thread has covered how much a good paint job can enhance the public opinion of a model, I thought it would be a good opportunity to vent about the opposite.
So..... Star Wars: Legion. Hurray, a new Star Wars tabletop game! Boo model quality we all cried. No where was that more apparent than when
FFG announced Han with this abomination:
A couple years later and I decide I don't really want a Rebel army but it'd be fun to run the main 6 characters in the game (though the lack of one obvious rule makes this illegal so I have to rely on opponents cool with facing a rather underpowered/illegal build). Imagine my surprise when I start painting this:
Like, its still not the greatest figure I've painted, but still... the figure actually kind of resembles Harrison Ford. Enough that most people I've shown it to guess its Indy. I'm just kind of shocked how much that first imagine skewed my perception of the model line until I worked on it myself. I think that runs both ways more often than we'd like to admit.
