Hmm I dont believe theres a topic for this yet here! So whos excited after a decade of waiting?
I know theres the big issue of "THEY'RE GONNA HAVE LESS CHARACTERS THAN BEFORE!"but you have to remeber back in MvC2, they RIPPED the characters from other fighting games exactly (basically copy and paste which leads to imbalance!). This time around they're doing it from the ground up with character animations and everything so they cant fit in too many at release (and thens theres the *shudder* tournament scene). Still I'm VERY pumped up for this game!
I think the most concrete lists have the number of fighters in the high thirties, with likely digital distribution ad ons and probably a "turbo" sequal game a year later adding another 8 or so. It'll end up having more, it'll be a huge seller for capcom. I can't wait!
I'm saddened by the loss of juggernaut and shumagorath though, most leak lists forgo their mention.

This game looks absolutely amazing. They've included all of the characters that I felt were missing from MvC2, and by the looks of it, it will be far more balanced than the last outing.
I just seriously hope they make the soundtrack better than the last game. That gak was horrible.

Venom and Nero (from DMC4) would be my picks for DLC.
Speaking of Venom, is Spidey in here? I haven't seen him yet.
He hasn't been revealed yet, but half the character have still not been revealed. He's heavily hinted at being in it and most leak lists have him in there.

Well theres a few people convinced that the company currently holding the rights to Spiderman Video Games is preventing them but so far no facts from either side. Also you already have 2 DMC characters! give some other games a chance!

Have fun with your controller designed for the hands of midget japanese children with bizarre concave thumbs and middle fingers made of sandpaper. I'll be winning with glorious xbox360 conpad superiority with it's easy to grip sticks and triggers and confortable design.
Thumbsticks accurately represent arcade stick controls on conpads and most modern fighting games use analog inputs for things like movement speeds. Other then that you have the rather soft 360 dpad versus the idiotic 4 button dpad on the ps3 (only capable of 8 way input and thumbrolling is unintuitive). The ps3 controller has about absolutely nothing on either of its competitors.

Yeah, there went your credibility!
Truly, I am awful for stating that the dual shock which hasn't been a good design since it competed with the n64 (when it had to fight the three prong and that dreamcast abomination) is inferior to the first well designed game controller in the history of the industry. Truly, the dual shock is superior with its cheap slippery convex analog sticks, it's four button cheap 8 way dpad, it's slippery and tiny shoulder buttons, and it's curves designed (literally) for the grip of a japanese child (it was). My credibility is destroyed!

The hilarious thing is that MVC2 was one of the most unbalanced and bug filled fighting games in that generation in consoles, and is easily the most of any popular tourny fighting game. The number of infinite combos and engine exploits is ludicrous and it never would have held up for gameplay if it weren't for the awesome matchups and the popular properties it leveraged.

Imo the PS controllers were always better for fighters due to their seemingly higher quality d-pads. Its been a common and imo really the only major complaint for the 360 controller which is excellent otherwise.
Looks like Microsoft has been listening to the gamers though; 360 controllers will now have a new and hopefully better feeling d-pad; not sure why they're dropping the colored buttons though:
Ugh. It's over boys. Why could they not have 4 buttons? I'm already scarred from losing my 6. King of Fighters, you're my only refuge :(
@Shuma: Bug filled or not, it was a game that played really quickly and didn't pull any punches. It was the Ard Boys of fighting games and that's definitely worth something.
The shape of the coloured buttons and the texture of the d-pad are the main reasons why I still can't prefer the xbox controller - especially for fighting games. I don't see the issue with an eight-directional pad when most fighting games only utilise the eight. I also don't see how it isn't 'intuitive', or how the 'intuition' of an extremely simple input method is a factor. It works fine for me, always has.
My PS2 fighting game controller is also slightly modified because I don't hold it 'normally'. I use my left thumb normally for the d-pad but I pull my right thumb inside the right-side 'handle' and use my main fingers on the buttons and shoulders. The right side stick has been sawn off and dremelled smooth - it does nothing for me. I have spare controllers but never need them.
I use a PC for pretty much every other genre, so I can't speak for controller preference in that regard.
The new exchange button sounds like the 'Dust' button concept from the GG series. Nice.

The X-Box 360 controller is absolutely horrendous when you're trying to play a fighting game. The D-Pad is of terrible quality for anything but a quick tap in a single direction, the face buttons are not designed to slide from one to another (They're also not very good for repetitious use, either), and while the triggers might be a damn sight better than the PS3's in every conceivable way, name one fighting game that actually makes good use out of the trigger buttons. Also, if you use the analogue sticks for a fighting game, you're the first person I've ever heard of who prefers doing so. They're incredibly innaccurate compaired to a good D-pad for this sort of thing.
The only reason I'm even able to stand playing fighting games on the 360 is because I bought myself an arcade stick. This is one area where the PS3 wins, hands down, no matter your preference otherwise.

I stated that the 360 controller had better thumbsticks and that they get used for some fighting games. Not that they were paramountly superior to the dpad in an mvc (or any other capcom) game. The dpad on the 360 is softer and more floaty, but the four way dpad for the ps3 requires less intuitive thumbing for using the corner axis' of movement (such as rolling 896). The problems exacerbated with movesets requiring motions like 8961 or even just 91 where you are required to fundamentally shift the position of your thumb from one axis to the other without breaking the press on the ps3 (not always easy to do, and one of the big reasons accessible disk dpads have been clearly superior since they started getting play on the fething genesis). I've never had a big issue with the face buttons on the 360, they require a heavier analog press because of their depth but they get sticky and broken far less often. The ps3 controllers face buttons when brand new are clickier and easier for comboing, but it's dpad is a wash. Professionals use neither in any circumstance because both controllers are awful for fighting games. My big argument was that the ps3 controller was also awful for everything else.
Good first party fighting controllers stopped existing after this guy right here. Look at that fething Dpad. It's beautiful.

Wait did I see Okami Amaterasu and Viewtitul Joe? Yes I did I totally want this now!
You've got Doctor Doom and Super-Skrull fething up a SHIELD helicarrier, Captain America being absurdly badass, the Marvel and Capcom guys actually working together to fight Doom instead of Versusing each other... hell, I don't know if I even need the game any more. If Capcom will just keep pumping out these videos, I'll be totally satisfied.
I agree with the Bold part with the force of 9001 Internets!
The game features new and returning characters to the Marvel vs. Capcom series, with accompanying promotional artwork by Capcom artist Shinkiro. The final build will feature more than 30 characters having 19 fighters been revealed alongside 3 silhouettes. Ryota Niitsuma has stated, as of August 2010, that the roster is locked down, but fan demand might affect DLC. Returning characters have distinct playstyle changes, such as Hulk being able to perform steady air combos, Captain America's shield hitting back on the return after being thrown, Ryu firing his Shinkuu Hadouken at different angles, and Iron Man's new stance and Proton Cannon firing at a 45° angle.
Marvel characters Captain America (Classic attire) Deadpool (Classic attire) Doctor Doom (Classic attire) Dormammu (Defenders Vol.3 appearance) Hulk (Classic Savage appearance) Iron Man (Extremis armor) Super-Skrull (Classic attire) Thor (Reborn armor) Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men attire)
Capcom characters Amaterasu Chris Redfield (Resident Evil 5 attire) Chun-Li (Street Fighter IV attire) Dante (Devil May Cry 3 attire) Felicia Morrigan Aensland Ryu (Street Fighter IV attire) Trish (Devil May Cry 2 attire) Tron Bonne Viewtiful Joe
Characters confirmed by Niitsuma to be absent from the game have so far included the monsters Tyrant and Nemesis of the Resident Evil series, citing concerns that their inclusion would change the game's content rating, as well as the primary members of Marvel's Fantastic Four, who were excluded at the company's suggestion for currently undisclosed reasons. However, the more recent announcement of Super-Skrull means that all of the Fantastic Four's powers will be available in one character, thus explaining their omission. Seth Killian has stated that Amingo will not appear. Other characters confirmed to be absent by Niitsuma include Daredevil, Emma Frost, Gene, Ghost Rider, Punisher, Phoenix Wright, and characters from Rival Schools and Power Stone. Niitsuma has also stated that about a third of the potential roster will consist of characters who did not appear in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Writer Frank Tieri has confirmed that Marvel has allowed for full use of their library of characters for storyline purposes, and that several non-playable characters such as the Fantastic Four, Ghost Rider, and Man-Thing will make appearances in the endings. Niitsuma has recently confirmed that Doctor Strange and Demitri will not be in the game as playable characters, as well as implying the absence of Cyclops. Seth Killian confirmed that Mega Man X will not appear as a playable character, and also pointed out that some of the characters shown as silhouettes may not be in the game anymore.
Anung Un Rama wrote:@Ahtman: where did you hear that Spidey won't be in it. I doubt that Marvel would let them do that.
I think it was Gamespot. I don't see why Marvel would force them to put Spidey in. It isn't exactly lacking in characters and the title isn't Spider-Man vs. Capcom. There is a Spider-man parade balloon in the background in one of the stages though.
X-23 is awesome, though why we need a literal wolverine clone in a game that already has wolverine is questionable... For that matter why do we need Trish? Lady is better
-Sigh- They have used up all the good characters and are scraping the Bottom now.
She is, surprisingly, a clone of Wolverine. She has two claws on her hands and one in each foot, or something like that. Had to double check the wiki article where I came across this unintentionally hilarious and stupid sentence.
X-23 tracks Wolverine to Xavier's mansion and engages him in a battle, defeating him via tactics and maneuverability.
Oh Gamespot, why must you hurt me? First reports that Spidey wasn't going to be in the game, and then at TGS Capcom announces Wesker (RE) and Spider-Man.

Saying that, none of the Marvel are really 'paired'.
Venom wouldn't be spidermans pair anyway. They would almost certainly throw in the Green Goblin instead given his prevalence and importance in comics over the last few years. I'm betting he simply has yet to be revealed, he's been 616's biggest static foil for years.

Kinda weird that there seems to be no indication of Dr Strange. Oh well. Its true that the Marvel pairs/themes are not as prevalent so far compared to MvC2 (well to be fair it was mostly just xmen themed)
Although I kinda prefer the looks of Hobgoblin over Green Goblin

The Hobgoblin hasn't been a big name for over a decade IIRC, his biggest showing and the reason everyone remember him was because of the spiderman cartoon series. He became very popular in the 90's but then so did carnage and venom. They've all waned greatly since. I would love to see a Doc Strange, and given that spiderman was on no previous confirmed releases he could well be in the game.

X-23 has never really been relevant, and yet, here she is.
Venom should be in it simply because he deserves to be. I'd prefer Carnage or Hybrid, but I know that would never happen. Then again, there are a whole lot of Spiderman villains that show more potential for a fighting game than The Green Goblin, and he's only been relevant recently because Marvel force-fed him to us.

True. Although Dark Reign/Siege isnt too well known outside of comic readers. The same issue applies to silver surfer who has to be on his board
Although I kinda like Anti Venom's Look. He's not a bad guy though

Mega was deconfirmed, I beleive, but Zero was basically confirmed. I beleive it was said that "Megaman will not be in the game, But Megaman fans will be pleased with the selection."
That leaves: Protoman, Zero, Bass, or Axl.
Zero is the most well known, so I would think he would be the one put in, but with the inclusion of Tron I'm actually leaning more towards Protoman.
Oh and heres the Spiderman and Wesker vids now in full HD
Hmm, If the whole "pairs" idea is right, I am thinking Black Cat or (She-)Venom is coming up. Most of the pairs are a guy and a girl, with only a few having both of one sex.

Still MODOK looks kinda badass with all his tools and if hes powered up has a 98 hit special!
I noticed that too. Question is: how many villians could Capcom bring into a fighting game? I believe it was said that we wont see any Resident Evil-Monster. Lost Planet doesn't have any usable villians for a fighting game. The villians in Dead Rising are pretty much just one note jokes.
I guess they could use more Viewtiful Joe characters.

Isn't Tron Bonne an antagonist? I know she was in Mega Man Legends, but after that I never really played MM or the series again, so I have no idea.
Also, Magneto might not be a bad guy in this. He constantly switches sides as he sees fit for 'mutant kind'.
Wish I was excited for it, I really do. But after months of hearing my poor sport of a brother moan and complain from playing online mode and the earburning soundtrack from MvC2, I am now afraid I am no longer a fan
They claim they have "2 Games Worth" of sounds tracks with every characters, every stage, and several classic soundtracks put in. I think their current music is pretty cool. And I think they are trying their best at balancing for online (I mean come on MvC2 was an arcade game from the 90's, not chess)

Do they mean that the CE is going to be later on, or the DLC AND CE being shipped at the same time?
No. Both Jill and Shuma will be available at the games release (Feb. 15. US, 18th in Europe) for people who buy the Special Edition and will be available as regular DLC 4 weeks later. I'm pretty sure this means that they were already included in the game and just taken out to justify DLC. As far as I know, adding characters via DLC later on could be difficult due to balancing issues. Anyway, here a few images you might be interested in.

I don't know if this is real, it certainly makes sense though. Both Spider-Woman and Ms- Marvel have been pushed by Marvel a lot these past few years, Venom is a fan favourite and Howard the Duck is exactlx the kind of whacky character these games are know for. On the capcom side, I can't read the top middle one, but the rest also makes sense.
You know, with Deadpool, Dante, Trish, Zero, Doom, and Magneto, there really isn't anyone I would want added to this game (Nero *cough cough*). Unless I am completely forgetting about someone.
I can't wait to play this.
P.S.
........... You know, I live in a frozen part of the US, and it's setting into the winter months, I want to see whats his face (not the bot) from Lost Planet. I think he would kinda be like Spencer (grappling hook) and Chris (guns) in one.

Venom, or another Symbiote, add that to the list.
So add in: Nero, Lost Planet dude, and Venom, and I'm good to go.

We have a few more details that we can share with you about the different modes you can play and license cards! What are those? Hit the jump to find out!
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has all the robust fight modes you’d expect from a fighting game. There’s single player and versus, the latter being available for online play. In the Mission mode, users can train themselves with a series of character specific challenges.
If you want to study up on how your opponents play, check out the license card. The data found here tracks player tendencies based on their fighting style. Your own license card will in fact record your data, let you choose your favorite icon to represent you, and record your battles and player points. The data in the license card will allow you to see positive and negative points about your play style. By reviewing player data online, you can find friends and rivals to play against and then do “recon” as the fight starts-up. The license card will allow you to see who an opponents favorite team of characters is, number of wins and losses, what kind of attacks they like and much more.

Well, with the pairs thing they have going, it could mean we will get another SF4 Character and X-man. I'm hopeing for ShadowCat or Nightcrawler for the X-men. Mostly Shadowcat, though.
Episode 3 is out. Although I cant exactly tell whats going on. Seems Maggy has some plans for the Umbrella Corps thingy so hes not in line with the other villains. Kinda short and no really big fight scenes but news is news I suppose
Taskmaster, Galactus, Green Gobo rumored to be in:
Copy Pasta'ed from facebook App:
Marvel vs Capcom fans, you may want to make room in your hearts for two more characters, as a leaked comic looks to have accidentally outed two Marvel super-villains set to join the cast.
Some work-in-progress shots of a comic, reportedly based on the upcoming fighting game sequel, turned up recently on the website of artist Kevin Sharpe. While they've since been taken down, the shots clearly show Deadpool nemesis Taskmaster, along with big helmet fan Galactus.
Almost every other character in the comic has already been revealed for the game, so yeah, this makes the pair's appearance seem likely. We say "almost", though, because who's that the Hulk is dragging? is it Spider Man's foe Green Goblin?
Kotaku is following up with Capcom and will update should the company comment
Although hes not really "unique", he just steals everyone elses fighting style unless they are giving him completely original movesets.
Meh on GG, hes fun but rather have venom
Agreed on Big G though, he seems very big (Onslaught and Sentinels probably do up to his knees) and technically you can only beat him using ultimate nullifiers/etc
Another game to make me spend my quarters at the arcade that hasen't happened in years. I cant wait to play this the character line up look great so far.
Anung Un Rama wrote:We knew Haggar was on his way, but I'm not too happy abput Phoenix. Because that would be another point to the rumor that Frank didn't make the cut.
IIRC correctly someone mentioned frank aint in becuase they cant get his speed right (too weak when slow, too op when fast, how they cant get a middle or lower attack power idk)
Also Akuma (ugh at least the other "copy" characters have hugely different movesets) is pretty much confirmed
Gobbo is Decomfrimed. The comic was showing Super Skrull I believe. Venom is pretty much not going to happen for base game if the rumors are true, some really reliable person (who predicted EXACT movesets on the new characters like Haggar for some credibility) Not only that but Venom would make a very reliable money getter for dlc (sad but true, megaman is another story though since we already have arthur, zero, and ammy)
Last few characters for base game if I can recall based on the predictions would be Akuma (already leaked pic), Hsien-Ko, Taskmaster, Sentinel, and Galaticus (I think even though hes the size of buildings). There may be more or less, cant remember the exact predictions
Fair enough, though who is Hsien-Ko? Never heard of him.
Also, just thinking about it, Nero really has to be a DLC character down the line. His Exceed Gauge really sets him apart, his Devil Bringer gives him a good throw range, and his Devil Trigger is just like Zero's Shadow move, where he doubles himself for a little bit.
Also, I hope they leave out Mega, and put in Bass. The Megaman EXE version of Bass, he was a bad ass. Or Vile, though his Rider Armor would make him act wierd with some of his combos.
Also, in The Phoenix's Video, we see Captain Blue skin for Viewtiful Joe, and Black Dante, which I never remember seeing in his games...
I really, really wish they had left the 6 button control scheme in. It's shaping up to be interesting but I'd trade it all for an 8 bit game with a traditional control scheme.

But think of the non Sex Mod members of Dakka!
Three buttons is simplier than Six buttons, which means more non gaming girl friends will play it
They are doing a Fan Vote for DLC, and currently Capcom is being won buy Phoenix Wright with 90 Votes, Vergil (DMC series) with 84 Points, and Megaman X with 83 points. Marvel is being won by: Gambit with 109 Votes, Venom with 100 votes, and Psylocke with 70 Votes.
I figured I would let you guys know so you can go vote if you want to, Linky:
Is there actually the possibility of new characters as DLC? I thought they couldn't do that without destroying the balancing.
Not that I would care much about that. I'm terrible at fighting games anyway.

But yes, Phoenix Wright please.
I honestly don't know, but I figured it couldn't hurt to link a Vote that they plan to send in.

They already have 2 slated. Wont be surprising to include more
Although I'm starting to actually hate the prospect of phoenix wright. love the games but the fanboys for very whiny when the devs said he couldnt fit

Yes, but DLC that is announced before the games comes out always smells a bit fishy. I wouldn't be surprised if those two hadn't been planned from the start.
I don't want to be a whiny fanboy, but I just love Phoenix Wright and it would be hilarious to see him in a fighting game. And, if he comes as DLC, they won't have to struggle to explain him in the story.
Anung Un Rama wrote: And, if he comes as DLC, they won't have to struggle to explain him in the story.
I've done nothing but bitch this thread, and these kind of comments are the reason. It's a FIGHTING GAME. In MvC2 (arguably the best 2d tournament fighter ever) there were 2 cutscenes of story. The first MvC tried a little harder, but yeah still not much else. Capcom has been so inconsistent story-wise it's not even funny (Charlie's dead! - no wait, Charlie is Shadow! No, Charlie is dead AND Charlie is Shadow, in the same game... wtf?). Why do they need 2 planned already? This is seriously stupid. Each game should be the best that it can be, especially talking fighting games. MvC3 is pretty much 4th edition DnD when it comes to fighting games, except for some reason there's not tons of unreasonable outrage towards it.

That's because Capcom are a bunch of idiots, Donte (or for those of you who don't frequent those forums, Dante's Reboot) has shown us this.
Personally, I like my fighting games to have at least a background story, like the first Mortal Kombat: Everyone is being put into a fighting tourney to determine who the strongest warrior on earth is. Simple, Easy to go by, and your motivation is clear. Likewise, my fighting game that I am planning on doing has a similar short and sweet storyline: Humanity left Earth to settle on different planets, Everyone started fighting over who would claim Earth, they realized that this was destroying the planet they wanted to keep safe, and so set up a tourney every five years that the winning warriors planet would "own" Earth for that time until the next tourny.
As for DLC, I know I have stated this, but I really, really, REALLY want Venom and Nero. Venom, because it's Venom, and Nero because he would bring alot to the table.
Also, with Nero in the game I could field a DMC-only team.
And as far as I know Capcom really wants this game to have a story. At least more then the 2nd game had. Let's just hope it's more interesting than Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe:
"I am filled with unexplainable RAGE!"

I just think he would be interesting because he has a lot going for him: A long reach with his Devil Bringer, which could be used like Bionic Commanders arm (grab people and pull them closer), his Devil Trigger would be like Zero's shadow move, where he copies himself for additional attacks, and then his Exceed Gauge could be worked in some how.
Akuma is well, akuma (the Ganadorf to Captain Falcon)
Looks like our predictor has been correct 100%. I guess we can expect Hsien-Ko (not to mention there is an achievement for having an all Darkstalkers team) and Sentinel

I don't know a lot about Taskmaster. Can anyone recommend some good stories with him?
You could read where he first appeared although I never read it myself and its pretty old
He's a reoccurring side character in Deadpool's story. Deadpool Classics Vol 2 has his infamous defeat at the hands of Deadpool since hes to random. Cable and Deadpool #36 has Deadpool breaking Taskmaster out of a prison car I think just so deadpool could stage a fight between them to sell his merc qualities. He was apart of Dark Reign so you could look into that. He also has his Udon run although its quite different. Delves in his past and gives him a very "street" costume. It leads up to his encounters with Agent X
But it now appears that this was really just a cover story, as West was in the game up until fairly recently. Not only did West appear in promotional material - he was even going to be in one of the cinematic trailers - but he was practically finished when the decision was made to drop him. Niitsuma said that West's moves had proven to be a sticking point, and the development team had found it harder than expected to get them working. The team felt that the resources needed to iron out the kinks would have been better spent elsewhere, and so West got axed.

6 costumes for $5 seems kinda iffy. Would rather see at least 12
But anyways after 2 days I must say I pick up pretty fast. Its simple once you figure out that everything is a variant of quarter forward, quarter back, or some zigzag
^ You should have seen Castlevania: Harmony of Despair. 400 points for one stage, 240 points for one extra character, and 320 points for 5 songs. And towards the beginning, you couldn't even play if you didn't have the stages, as you would get booted out of every lobby.
I'm enjoying teams with Chris Redfield, Sentinel (who i used in the last game), Ryu, Deadpool, Super skrull, Felicia, and wolverine. I like the contrast between the distance and in your face styles.
I'm using Deadpool and Dante a lot. Altough as far as I understand it, Dante is a bit overpowered. But since I'm not really good at the game I hope it evens out.
What I really enjoy though are the little touches, like characters who are close friends calling each other by their first names, like Cap and Iron Man or Wolverine and X-23.
Hmm having doubts on Dante now. End up keep using his moves that take too long and not the ones I want (stop shooting in the air, STOP SHOOTING ). Maybe I'll switch him for chris who is hilarious against people who cant jump or block well or maybe akuma
Haha I used to but got tired of other sent spammers. Had a really good match with a sent spammer. He may have taken out Doom but Super Skrull rolled under his beam and tenderized the heck out of him. x2 supers later and sentinel is gone. Cakewalk after that since most spammers have no idea how to fight without Sentinel!
I got raged quit by a Sent Spammer. Ammy can just duck under his beams, and I did a hell of a combo, followed by a team aerial combo - then the guy quit.
Yea, heard a lot of stories of rage quiting sent spammers after even the most mediocre of comboing. They're going to get paired up with other rage quitters!
Yeah.
I have yet to rage quit. However, I got the update when I was getting my ass kicked, and it told me off.
I was all "the heck, you just made me update and kicked me out of my game D<"
I believe I've read somewhere a few months back that, if you quit a game prematurly too often, you will be set to fight against other quitters as well.
I normally don't play fighting games, but I found this one particularly good. Although I also consider Soul Calibur good and some think poorly upon it in favor of Guilty Gear, etc.
I would have to say that my mains are Deadpool, Chris, and Viewtiful Joe. Chris is range of course, Deadpool is a nice mixed bag, and Viewtiful Joe manages to beat Thor and the Hulk for some reason.
I cannot for the life of me beat Super Skrull though, spamming doesn't work and the air combos are hard to start off against him for some reason.
kenshin620 wrote:What difficulty are you on? SS doesnt seem too bad at normal, I can beat him with most people
I can beat him in arcade, but not when a real person is using him. They like to use that 'tenderizer' move and for some reason seem to be faster than Deadpool.
I will admit that I can't beat Galactus on Normal mode though, I get him to a slim amount of life and then he just ends me.
Ah, I sometimes use skrull in arcade. He is pretty much Chun Li with extra reach so its easy to spam tenderizer. Best strategy is to somehow get him when hes in the middle of it and cant react.
Big G at first seems hard but in the end hes predictable, I use to have all sorts of trouble but these days I find he is one of the easiest fights. keep up the blocking and fit in as much damage in between. The things you have to watch out for are his grab (you have to super jump to avoid or if you get caught you can break out) and his laser supers (the background one he has has a buttload of chip damage and if you dont block its pretty much instant kill). when you run out of team members, xfactor is your friend. can really knock his teeth out, it also helps during his instant kill energy ball attack which when broken, stuns him for a good while.
It seems that he uses his insta-kill more often in easy mode too. I don't do too many fighting games so I'm trying to learn how to do quarter turns, etc with the analogue. I thinks its a good thing that the hyper combos have the same basic pattern though. That way it seems like you're trying to adjust to the character's movements and speed instead of some control pattern.
Can honestly say, despite loving the previous incarnations, this one is horrible. I love fighting games, but this one seemed to be made for ten year olds with its simplified controls and attacks that are all about infinite combos and flashy moves. Give me Street Fighter, give me Mortal Kombat, or even give me the old MvsC 1&2. But MvsC3 is terrible. Is it fun to play once? Sure. But I'm glad I didn't waste the money on it. I MIGHT pick it up when it hits the bargain bin-and that's being generous.

I have 2 and I say 2 was worse. Way more exploits and it was in general a jumble of mess. They have a Roll tier for crying out loud just for her. Then you take in account Teams of 3 sentinels spamming rocket punches all day long or in general ranged spammers like cyclops and cable that make mvc3 sentinel look like chump change.
1 was pretty bad too with Onslaught. Only thing stopping him from being unstoppable was the fact he couldnt block. BEHOLD MY MIGHTY HAND!

So...you were pretty close to unbeatable by using a boss character? Seems kind of like an unfair comparison to those of us who only play the regular characters. Playing as a boss character in a fighting game doesn't really interest me: they're usually far more powerful than any other character and who cares if you can beat all your friends with the most hardcore character in the game. Just my thoughts. I have no problem with my friends using boss characters against me though, because they usually need an edge up on me. Not that it ever does them any good
