Don't they look dangerous! Going to be entertaining to look at. I would personally go with burnas, but get some more opinions.

Here is my first Nob. I don't know why, but all my paints (except good 'ol Boltgun metal) were really watery.




I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the pants, I'll probably go back over with black.
He looks super shiny because I'm not patient enough to wait for my ink washes to dry before taking pictures.

A few more thin coats of yellow would make the model oh so much better, regarding the pants try subtle highlighting with chaos black 50/50 codex grey and then highlight again with a small amount of codex grey. Good start, keep up the painty goodness.

I have to agree the highlights are a bit much on the pants but that pose is killer. Maybe a thin wash of sepia over the yellow would make it look alittle dirtier. But thats just my take. I like the dirty look. But keep it up cant wait to see more. I'm doing ork trades also in the GMS if your interested.

Also, Im going to lighten the skin color

sorry haha. i love the yellow/black armor, but they are so bright! something needs to be done and i would say the best way to be to darken the skin, or dirter the yellow as someone said.

maybe paint them more like black orcs, in a much darker skin color?

Sorry Sage, I lightened the skin, but gave it a liberal wash of badab black, along with all the yellow, so it looks much better.
Pics tomorrow when I get up, and I will try to finish the second nob tomorrow as well.

I know the goffs look bad, I painted them when the yellow was still wet. I'll fix them when I go and paint the second nob.

I'm going to have the 20 boyz from the battleforce as shootas, and give them a nob w/ pk.

I'm going to have to convert a Waaagh banner, and get 5 more nobz, and another box of burnas.

Very cool looking Nobz and they have great poses. Some of the flames look like the need neatening up, but apart from that they look perfect.

Here is my 4th nob. I really like how the worn look for the yellow on the axe turned out. (painted it silver, streaked it with gold, then yellow. You can see through it irl)

Of course. Having 80+ boyz in this army (planned anyway) =simple, but good looking paint jobs for all boyz. Basically, black pants,shirts and boots. Brown cloth, straps, etc, silver/ gold metal. And of course yellow thrown in

He is going to have too much dakka! (using a flame cannon thing from the lrr box, and a ton of random weapons. and I may use the other cannon and gas tank for a fifth loota)

I was planning on having one or two meganobz just because they are cool models.
I saw someone convert some dreds into mega nobs. By removing the sarcophagus cover, and putting a nob head in, etc. They looked really good. I may try that.

i think its way too big to even be a warboss, it is awesome, but i think you may have to go with killer kan or deff dred for that, mostly due to the base

Well, I'm already sold on doing the conversion, so....
But, I will be converting the AoBR boss as my normal boss, and I will be making the other conversion as his second incarnation. I'm going to write some stories one I get to my Boss, and make up a tiny piece of fluff each time I glue on a new weapon (before I paint him) About his never ending quest for more dakka.
Also, I can't think up a first name, but the last part of his name is Goldmaw.

I received my trade today, and with it the AoBR warboss, but not the standard head. He sent one wrong thing, so when I send them back (3 koptas), along with his IG, he is going to send back 5 nobz (they will become my flash gitz) and hopefully the warboss head. If not, I have many nob heads.

The nod heads look kooler anyways.

Drilling the barrels looks good, but its risky- mess up and you srew the whole model.

I'd be using a tiny 'twist it yourself' drill, not a power drill.
And if I make the hole in the wrong area...green stuff!
I painted my last two burnas, pics up tomorrow, along with the dred conversion (my friend forgot it today b/c he was on a art trip, so hes bringing it tomorrow. I'm so pumped)

That's the spirit! Slow and careful helps too. I usually use the sharp end of my circular file to make the centre before breaking out the pin vice

Outstanding BBL! Great creativity & modeling. All da right bitz is dere fer sure.

Two suggestions...
1. It needs a grot rigger set up like an ammo runt somewhere. Just pin him on (but don't glue) so he can be removed when used.

2. Get some of the armorcast "cinematic effects" & have two blasts of flame and smoke shooting out of the stacks.

I added one more small wire to the gun arm, going to the joint (the bottom of the turret piece looks way to plain, IMHO)
The only grot I have is the mekboy ammo pack w/ grot, and I want to work him in. I like the fuel tanks on the back of his pack, but if I remove them I could place the grot there.
(or take the grot off the biker nob's boss pole, but he just looks so good with the bike.)

It is about how Goldmaw beat the dred, took on the second-name Godcrusha, and how it wouldn't have been possible without 'Goldmaw's Protege' (the boy with the two knives conversion)

You are still to clean the mould lines and drill the barrels right? This would be the perfect model to make sure you get all of those! (I feel like I'm harping on... apologies if it comes across that way - just think its doubly worth the effort here!)

i dont really like the yellow on this model,it works better on your other models. I think it just makes him too bright or doesn't contrast as much with the other colors. maybe dirtify the yellow in some places or make the other colors, def the silver darker. i don't much like the use of silver in general so i am bias towards it, i think it usually is wayy too shiny.

Goldmaw watched as his boyz finished the last of the marines. Reaching up, he placed a cigar in his mouth and began walking toward the battlefield, ripe for looting. Suddenly, a Nob cried, “Boss! More ‘umies incomin’ “ Glancing up, Goldmaw saw the nob was right. Two drop pods were coming in fast. Laughing heartily, he glanced down at his klaw and flexed the fingers. “Oi!, you lot folla’ me” He said, pointing to his nob guard and the burna boys. Setting off for the two drop pods, he heard the sputter of bike engines as three bikers sped past. A lone space marine lay dying on the ground. Defiantly, he raised his bolt pistol and aimed it at the warboss’s head. *click* The pistol was empty. All the eyes of the orks shot toward him. With two quick strides, Golmaw was on top of him. Grinning, his gold teeth glittering, he rose up his klaw and plunged it down into the marine, twisting it savagely. Leading the boys and Nobs, Goldmaw broke into a run. Getting to the top of the hill first, all he saw was destruction. From the drop pods, a quad of marine and a dreadnaught had begun to slaughter the boys on that side of the hill. Bellowing loudly, he charged down the hill at the dread, leaving the burnas and nobs to deal with the other marines.

Lifting his twin linked shoota, he began to fire at the dread as he neared, the bullets plinking off the massive hull. Looking down at his useless weapon, he cast it aside, raising his power klaw and closing in on the dread. Spinning, the dreadnaught bellowed through its Vox, “I am Ancient Piolux. I have come to deny your foothold on this planet!” cycling his assault cannon, he began to stitch the ground with fire. Diving forward, Goldmaw narrowly avoided the stream of fire. Knowing the assault cannon would be the death of him; he reached up and up and clamped the power klaw onto the barrels of the assault cannon, bending them inward. However, he did not stop the cannon from being a blunt object. Swinging it forward, Piolux hit him and knocked him to the side. Rising up his fist, Piolux swept it downward. Goldmaw tried to roll out of the way, but the dreadnaught was faster, catching him in his lower body. Feeling bones crunch and muscle tear, Goldmaw stared down as the dread ripped his waist and legs off. Rising up his klaw he swiped at the dread but missed, leaving his klaw in position to be crushed. Now, with out half his body, and his klaw ruined, Goldmaw simply stared up at the dreadnaught and bellowed defiantly.

At the same time this was happening, a lone biker watched his boss falter. Gunning the turbo boost, he sped toward the dreadnaught. Jumping off, the bike flew forward and struck Piolux from behind, distracting him momentarily. As this happened, the biker boy took out his two knives and ran full speed toward the dread. Seeing the body of a dead space marine, he ran up the back and jumped off, (author’s note: Think of the scene from 300) raising his two blades and plunging them into the top of the dreadnaught.

Failing backward, Piolux tried to pull the ork off of him, but he couldn’t reach behind him. Taking advantage of this, Goldmaw reached up and grabbed the chassis of the dreadnaught, hoisting himself up. He reached back his klaw, and for reasons unknown, possibly due to the thoughts of the biker boy and Goldmaw himself, his broken klaw flicked into life for a split second, penetrating the sarcophagus of the dreadnaught. Peeling off the shield, Goldmaw stared at the ancient torso inside. Grining, he yelled, “Well, I’m Da’ Warboss Goldmaw! I’m ‘ere to keep dis planet as long as I like!” Reaching back with his unarmored hand, he smashed his hand into the face of the marine, pushing his head into the back of the sarcophagus until it smashed. Releasing his grip, he fell onto the ground.

The biker boy jumped off as the dread fell, and walked over to the boss. “Be sure ta tell the mekboy ta fix up yer bike wif the spare parts…” Goldmaw said, pointing in the general area of the dreadnaught. ‘Boss, why don’t ya use the spare parts of da bike to fix up da arma’ for yerself?” Grinning wildly, Goldmaw said, “What a great idea. I have da best ideas…” before slumping back down.

After being hooked up into the dread, goldmaw found the boy who had saved him. “Oi!” he said, getting the boy’s attention. With a grin, he reached up and pulled one of his gold teeth out (author’s note: with his real hand, not the klaw or anything) and tossed it to the boy. From then on, the boy was referred to as Goldmaw’s protégé, and Godmaw took on the name Goldmaw Godcrusha.

i loved your story, i would have liked it written from the mind of the ork which would make it sound different, but that is usually just how i like my ork stories
maybe also have imperial records of this battle and how they viewed it differently?

Thanks. What I do is paint it boltgun metal. Then, wait for it to be almost dry, and paint burnished (I think) gold over it.
Which ever gold is darker, and not shiny.

I've begun to paint Brother Noctis, and I have run into a problem. I am going to continuously have to use games-workshop's 360º gallery to make sure I get all the tiny details the right color

And sorry to disappoint, Ice, But the Broodlord is first thing to be painted, after the termies.
I decided on Zael. He looks twice as good as I was hoping him to come out as.
I haven't ink washed him yet, so I guess my teaser will be him pre-wash

After ink-washing and photo taking, he will be up in my SH blog

Love that termie! I had great fun painting that guy. Have you thought of doing some alien blood splashed over him? With all that CC fighting I am sure he would be a bit messy

I planned on making an isshmale (purposely spelt wrong) by using a boy, and the harpoon arm from the Nob box, as well a a loota's gun.

If you want to do another trade, I will go count up the number of boyz I have, because I am pretty sure I have a couple that don't fit into any squad.

Get some cheap disposable sanitary gloves and/or use colour shapers - it will remove the finger prints in your GS. Otherwise, awesome work! I don't need to mention the other thing do I?

Also, I played my first and second game of Space Hulk with my Dad.
he beat me on the first mission, and I won on the second. We took some pictures of the game in progress (etc, etc)

Leon Chillin' in the back, blocking his blips from entering (Once I got him there, he stayed put until the end of the game)

Scipio valiantly defended this hallway from multiple turns

Lorenzo chilled in here and did nothing untill end game, where he died after like, 5 turns of CC (and like, 7 dead stealers)

I don't know the exact number, but Valencio's over watch fire killed at least 12 stealers, most certainly more.

Its hard to see in the pictures, but the armor is a much darker red. All the models will have blue helmets (minus Veterans and hq's )That is if I continue with this chapter, or just have this squad.

Great job on the smurfs BBL.... the blue and white with the gold accents is really stunning.

Well, the flames are on my ork klan, and if I ever make more Blood Tempests, they will have them

I must admit, three of the models weren't fully painted by me. The three with sand on the bases I got from a trade partially painted, and the one with a black bases was from the same guy, (base-coated) I went over his highlights, and painted many details (chest eagles, backpack vents, purity seals, etc) but the face of the Sarge was done by someone else. It was too good for me to go over it, so I just left it.

I will be adding pictures up once i am done painting today, and some of them will be the Tempest's after Ink wash. They look 100% better

Yeah, I really like smurf veterans. The blue, white, and gold looks amazing.

I have a clock beside my bed, and I have a warhammer (lol) box to block the illumination. It was the starter paint set box, but I got pissed that it fell over and ripped it up. It is now the sternguard box. So, every morning, I wake up to the sight of 'eavy metal smurf vets. I just couldn't resist the urge to paint my remaining two as smurfs.
