In your dreams pal... they are mine, and will remain such so I can blow you to hell
anywho, minor update... just began GSing the Shrikes, it'll take a few days as the tails are just too damn fiddly... will hopefully have them done thursday-ish.
actually i just saved your pic of the RAF air recognition sign to my harddics for a future T-shirt design i always wanted to have...
my wife thanks your for your help
and...
actually your talk about shrikes and other bugs no pales in comparrision of you working on those aircrafts...(joking of course...although... a grain of truth is in it )
lone dirty dog wrote:Yes, of course you will ………...
I will... just need to finish the tails off, and then do the wings... I won't have them painted by then

Tell your wife its always a pleasure
The aircraft will wait for a little while... for now I'm just going to enjoy building them...
for now a little teaser on what I plan for the NeoBrits:
I think you get the theme from both the name of the regiment, as well as the RAF section of it too. but still I shall explain. As I need troops and a HQ unit for the IG list, I thought for the troops I'd have a small section of Relief troops. Based heavily on WWI British troops. hence the above images. but also they are vets, which is why there is Shotguns... as shotguns be tastey
the conversion combination you show... sounds like a good plan...
tho i never saw someone using the torsos with those legs... i hope this will blend together well... the heads will be perfect for trenchers tho!
yeah, I hope so. I kinda like the idea of trench veterans which specialise in insertion and trenching techniques... I may somehow tie them in with my pre heresy IW's lols... maybe they are still trying to regain their place in the imperium for having worked with the IW's. Prior to the fall.
Squigsquasher wrote:The Mosquito is a lovely aircraft. I see what you mean about the similarities.
And now you are much too happy, so I'm going to mention the Zelda CDI games (search them on Youtube if you haven't heard of them...).
Zelda, as in, the legend of? ... currently having issues with my IP... so googling will have to wait until tomorrow I'm afraid... Stupid motherfracking Kingston Communications...
childe, it seems like you are doing death krops of krieg with a head swap to me. I dont mind as that look is fanastic and will sell, but is slightly over done to me. At least with everyone wearing great coats. Also side note, from what i remember the world from your fluff was a humid jungle.. not exactly great coat weather.
Viktor von Domm wrote:hmmm.... will be interesting then to see your color scheme for them...
WW1 drab olive.

remember there are other planets in the system. Calliope VI did not have stationed troops there, it relies on the orbital defence system as well as the starport and the garrisons on the outlaying worlds for protection, but, I've only touched upon that in the fluff so far. who's to say what those worlds are like
patience my young padawan...
also DKoK are over rated... I'm doing neobrits, plus these are shotgun armed with better (imo) gasmasks... none of this crappy skull motif malarky...

oh... and there is a flat 25 troops in this list... the majority is vehicles... specifically aircraft.

1. theres always room for childe in my bed, so dont use my gf as an exuse to hide your feelings!
2. I could show you proof.. but being that both of us are under 18, I dont think you want pictures like that around
well there's that, and if legal age is 18 in america and the laws are anything like the one in the uk, then taking photo's of anyone under the age of consent is classed as paedophillia, so be careful
I was going to say "come here lover" but as I just said about legal age and whatnot, Its probably a step in the wrong direction
night dude, I best hit the mucus sacs too... tired is not the word... after a day or fighting my IP it finally starts working at 2am fracking frackers...
Did I even sleep I am knackerd the misses woke up last night as I was on her I pad in bed, she was not happy as it woke her up apparently also I was on Dakka which for some reason only makes matters worse
It was 2.45AM so I kind of see her point, hence the wake up call at 6.45AM by her ……… I do love her so much LOL
Well thats the ramblings out the way here is the picture, however these are using the combat torso's not the Kromlech one's but gives you an idea I guess
if you not already ordered the maxmini heads... i would consider dropping RS jake a line... he has some amazing skullhelmets that could be your thing...er...forgot you didn´t want to go down the skull road at all...

i think i´ve got around 40 of these in my bitz box...

its a possibility, but as they are all the same, I tbh would rather go with the maxmini ones... as they are varied.
btw, everyout shoudl check out the newly updated Anvil industires website, its got a ton of new stuff on there that look awesome. I'm considering some cultists of theirs as they look like Explorator Biologists given guns, which is perfect for the ground staff of Calliope
oh... i just had a look... i need to get some money free for those Aether pirates... with a lil bit of help from ol friend GS you get some nice minis...
and i agree... those cultists and the crowmantian militias could be a nice gang or could work as a basis for IG priests... nicely hooded minis...
could mean Internet Protocal, Internet Provider, International Procedure and many other words that make sense when you start with I and end with P. YOU GET WITH THE LINGO
if the later... go and search for a nicer backdrop... something involving a jungle? you could then play a game of "search the bug" ...seriously... something that makes it not hurt the eyes as the white and you are truly golden!

Who let you guys in and what the hell have you done to the place... you should be ashamed of yourselves!!!
in other news... I think I've lost my life to FO again... balls... well I guess it was going to happen in a few weeks anyways when I got my hands on AC:3... so yeah... makes for a nice interim thingamabob...
also... the Shrikes are now looking pretty, will hopefully have them all modelled up tomorrow with pics on friday!
and my Avenger and Vulture should be winging their way to me in the post also, woot!
I also realised that my analogy for the avenger strike fighter was wrong... it's not the love child of a Grumman and a Mosquito... its the love child of a Vought F4U Corsair and a Mosquito
ahem... now that got your attention, my Vulture and Avenger arrived today (the avenger was missing a couple of bits, but they are sending me new ones so all is good). spent the morning cleaning up the Vulture, and its ready for its wash, so later will give its bath along with the Shrike wings to get them finished off.
In other news... don't you hate that moment when your reunited with your dear old dad, then as your helping him make a brighter future for the world the Enclave turn up and he kills himself and them...
but... at least I have access to the Citadel now, so hopefully I can get me some Power Armour finally!!!

I've never celebrated fathers day anyways lols... no big loss
by the way... will you play the GotYE ? will you level all the way up to 30? the southern areas are tough... and shocking...
Got it, and playing it... so the intention is to max level it and do everything... although I seemed to have upset a few people as I'm currently an Evil Raider at Lv9
btw, do you know if your character is able to be imported into FO: New Vegas?
Viktor von Domm wrote: i guess no... both games play as i recall in the same "world" but are different ...
Ah fair enough, I did wonder if FO:NV was a continuation of your character or not. not to worry lols.
and yep radio in close quarters is hazardous to your health^^
Lols indeed... not half as bad as rounding a courner to find two brutes and a regular super mutant
well i am a bit more jumpy from time to time...and i like to sniper anyways better so open space is more to my liking
Lols, having just acquired my first Laser Rifle not too long ago I'm quite enjoying using it at close range to kill things with and turn them to ash
I don't do Close Combat in FOtbh... its a little hairy especially when backing off from something and you get stuck in a corner... not good...
I basically use anything ranged that comes to hand and only using the big guns when necessary... as I just full auto the mini-gun and run out of ammo too much

Unfortunately, I use it so damn much it keeps breaking so I have to find new muties to get the shotguns to fix the damn thing... very little point in spending good caps of fixing things imo.

well it depends on what definition of robot you are using... but in the true sense, we are all robots, following inbuilt programs which govern our bodies
and considering the Eva's are built/grown with little/no mind, they are automata awaiting input from their controllers, ergo, Robot.
Not that there is any shortage of it..."MY SOUL IS BEING VIOLATED!": The cry of Asuka being mind raped, and anyone watching Asuka being mind raped, or any other scene really (mind rending screams that would stop Khorne sleeping without a teddy, anyone?)
Oh yes, I have seen that. In fact, that is the only bit of the EOE I have actually seen. I must admit, that bit didn't freak me out so much as make me sad, as truth be told I pitied Shinji. He is slowly losing his mind, he hates himself, and he is hardly proud of himself after the...act. It doesn't matter how disgusting we think he is, it cannot come to a millionth of how disgusting he thinks he is, and I really feel sorry for him. The bit where he is begging Asuka to yell at him and call him an idiot really tugs my heartstrings. When you have someone so far off the deep end that they want verbal abuse for comfort...Tearjerking stuff man. Someone give this boy a hug. Asuka, I'm looking at you.
The interesting thing about Shinji is that he is a gender flip of the typical self doubting Moeblob. Had he been female he would have just come across as a generic cute woobie girl.
Ironically, the only bits of NGE I have seen are the first episode, and the hospital bedside thumbing off scene. To me, something isn't truly spoiled until I have actually seen it. I do intend to get the boxset and the movie though.
Ironic that Gainax, the studio behind this monmental monolith of psychological horror and depression, also made Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, whicb is extremely upbeat and funny.
Crossover time!
I can just imagine: "Hey Yoko, I found another giant face! Wait this one is...Oh god, is that a...Oh god nononononono. NO. NO. NO.
Yeah Shinji was an unfortunate character... I did feel sorry for him really.
Oh and how the hell can you call Gurren Lagann upbeat I will never know... mid series? I CRIED!... it made me cry... same goes for the end tbh... Gainax are utter tools for what they can do to the psychological condition of normal people.
btw, I want to watch NG:E Redux sometime... they have aparently re annimated it all. with a bit of an update as well.
I will admit I have only ever watched the abridged version of the first episode of TTGL. And I know a lot less about it. I thought it was supposed to be the polar opposite of NGE: silly, upbeat, happy and fun as opposed to being sinister, complex, sad and mind shreddingly twisted. What with the walking faces and general OMGWTFBBQishness.
Also, something fun for you: take a look at the Transformers Prime Soundwave toy. Now take a look at an EVA.
I see your point about Soundwave... might have to buy that now
btw, do you know how NG:E ends? if you don't you may need to watch it all and reassess about your Unit:001 lives comment
TTGL: is fun and upbeat, but, BUT, it has two rather big moments in it, and those moments are tragic, and when I say that, I mean it as if you had just lost a loved one type tragic.
Watch it. You will love it, and want to watch it again and again. but you will need cleanex...
I know how End of Evangelion ends, but not how the last two episodes of the main series ends. From the sounds of things...Oh dear.
However, as creepy as "neon green and purple has never been so creepy" Unit 01 and "faceless, watching you silently, eternally judging you" Soundwave are, they ain't got gak on the mass produced EVAs from EOE. I have only seen a mugshot of them, but...Those grins...
Argh. I might build a sculpture of one and put it on my front lawn when I have my own home to scare the kids off. Perhaps I can give it a remote control head to slowly twitch in the general direction of people for maximum "Oh god please make it stop" factor.
I need a hug. Oh wait, that will turn me into LCL.
The weird red goopy liquid everyone turns into after Third Impact in EOE. Origin of tge "And everybody hugs and turns into tang" meme.
Goddamnit. The EVA drones LICK Unit 02 before tearing it apart. Just...No. Hideaki Anno, I know you were depressed and wanted to make something creepy...But damn.
The Avenger strike-fighter and Vulture gunship are complete. Minus the parts I'm awaiting from FW... as I am missing the Exhaust, Autocannon and Pilot control panel... useful
and the size of the Avenger is somewhat staggering... its huge... and its only a fighter
I also forgot to wash the Shrike wings... so will do that in a bit, so I can get them GS'd tonight and glued on. I also can't seem to find my sandpaper which is why I haven't finished them tbh... but yeah... pics at some point soon!
Childe, sorry to hear about the missing components. That must suck.
It does a little tbh, but, I learned something interesting when I phoned Forgeworld up. Apparently they cast the parts which are missing specifically on person by person basis... but its not just a new cast, its a new mould they do. specifically for the customer.
I find it a little odd, but it sort of makes sense.
I might have to make a new head for my winged Hive Tyrant based on one of those EVA drones. I reckon the grin would scare away any 12 year olds from playing against me.
Also, what models will represent the veterans? DKOK?
Briancj wrote:6th edition pretty much guarantees run-ins with Nightfighting. Necrons AND 6th edition? Oh yeah.
fair point... forgot about newcrons... well hopefully I can get away with just the Avengers and Vultures with laser vision.

sounds like a plan Squig.
and most likely Elysians tbh... I was going to make my neobrits but I just like the FW Elysians too much. plus, this army is pretty much all FW anways, whats two units more?
you wanna go elysians now... hmmm... you get my thumbs up for this idea!!! i like them too... beside... they are half new brits too what with their bullpop lasguns and all...
Viktor von Domm wrote: you wanna go elysians now... hmmm... you get my thumbs up for this idea!!! i like them too... beside... they are half new brits too what with their bullpop lasguns and all...
Elysian's weapons are more P-90 imo Vik... but yeah, I have always like the models, and it saves a lot of effort with the converting by using them.
plus eventually I was considering an Elysian army anyways
AnUnearthlyChilde wrote:Yeah for now... I may bring them back if I ever do my IW support Guard list, as they would make sense for them.
its odd... the Trenchers would have cost more to do than buying FW
rather weird ... but then... you get to make a rare army instead of a somewhat already done army...even if your take would have been different but still to a known theme... even i have some trenchers in my to build cubboard...
lols.. well as I said before, I will most likely use the trenchers idea for my IW reservist IG army.
in other news... I was reading 6th ed flyer rules... it seems fliers get to fire 4 weapons when they move... which is bloody awesome... it means each Avenger can get off 11 shots, and each vulture can get off 23
Well I guess there has to be some sort of update around these here parts...
Currently on the table are:
Vulture Gunship:This needs its punisher cannons ordering before I can do anything with it unfortunately... but I hope to get paint on it not too far from now.
Avenger Strike-Fighter: dubbed "DAP-024" after my grandfathers initials and year of birth. currently awaiting its missing parts, but its assembled and I need to order its autocannons also.
Tyranid Shrikes:I forgot to wash their wings yet again, but, I do have two of the models tails now fully GS'd and sanded down all smooth. so once the wings are done they will be complete.
Mawloc No.2:it's back on the table and so far (fingers crossed) looking good, GS has hit the model and currently awaiting it to set. more will be applied tomorrow. it's turning into a big conversion but hopefully again it'll be worthwhile. oh and it's pose is sort of like me original idea, but evolved.
Random Terrain Peice:I've started, sort of, a piece of terrain. which will be in the style of Fallout:3. It's going to be a Soyuz style rocket, broken, but still on a take-off pad. as when I received the Vulture i had a gak ton of spare parts with it inculding the original Valkyrie engines... which make nice additional engines for a rocket.
I'll do some photo's in a few days for you all... if I haven't feel free to give me a nudge for them.
No pictures as of yet... currently building the base/flying base for Mawloc No.2... trying to scratch build a toilet is a pain in the arse I have to admit...
... you can tell my influences can't you?
Spoiler:
Shrikes kinda got sidetracked by the mawloc... mainly because the mawloc requires so much work... me and my awesome idea's
Also, breaking news: I just watched the first 2 episodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion. Without a doubt one of the best things I have ever watched. Still, I don't know about you, but in the second episode when Unit 001's helmet falls off, its eye socket looked somewhat...Vagina-y. And damnit, Shinji'w screaming is terrifying.
so why does everyone need to get eaten on the crapper? i picture the nid bursting out with the crapper on its head or something of that sort knowning you childe

You might want to be careful with what you are shouting, coz driving around slowly shouting "childe" might get the wrong attention.
Well I wish I had plenty of stuff to report hobby wise... but I don't... my mum decided to break here foot a few weeks back, and what with christmas... I have no sodding time to do anything
Hey there. I like your stuff. The winged Hive Tyrant is very good, I like his chest with all the bio-gunk. Perhaps a little bit of highlights on the teeth will help him.
Bwahahaha! Beware, he lives! (Ultra bonus points to anyone who gets the reference!)
Also, AnUnearthlyChilde, you will be pleased to know I watched the entire series of Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion...
Goddamnit they were terrifying.
NGE was, if you ask me, an excellent series. Whilst I don't want to be associated with the "2deep4u" crowd, I did think it was a deep interesting show. It was actually really enjoyable up until episode 13. Then it started getting creepy. It kept getting freakier and freakier until I watched episode 22...
And I think my head asploded out of sheer horror and revulsion. I can never listen to Hallelugah again thanks to that episode. Asuka was obnoxious (loveably so) but that bit was so cruel I nearly turned off the computer. The psychosexual imagery didn't help. Episode 23 was terrifying as well, although mainly out of sheer squickiness ("It hurts, Shinji"...UGH). Once again the fruedian imagery didn't help at all. Episode 24 was less disturbing and more just plain sad. To see Shinji finally meet someone who truly loves him, and then to have that person cruelly wrenched away was just heartbreaking.
As for End of Evangelion, it was the most disturbing thing I have ever watched EVER. The screaming, the brutal deaths of all the characters I had grown to know and love, that HIDEOUS dream sequence where Asuka is so cruel to Shinji that he finally snaps and tries to strangle her, followed by ultra fast pictures of rotting animals drawn by children, and a cheery pop song about suicide (Incidentally, "Komm, Susser Todd" is German for "Come, Sweet Death") followed by everyone getting hugged and turning into tang and Giant Naked Rei rapidly decomposing and poor Asuka being eaten alive and feeling every moment of it and ARGH...
The original ending may have been difficult to understand (mainly as it is deliberately vague and open to interpretation) but at least it wasn't soul crushingly depressing...
Shikabane Hime and Darker Than Black? Never heard of them. Will check them out. TTGL is a little bit too heavy on drills and ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWAH for me. But maybe I might get round to it. Hopefully it's on Animecrazy. If so I will try and watch it.
And seriously, if you weren't thoroughly disturbed by NGE then there is something wrong with you. Something very, very wrong.
And you still need to make Yokonid! And maybe Reicron and Misatofex as well...
Confused, I can understand. But rewatch the Asuka mind rape scene and tell me it isn't horrific
Hang on, you are watching the sub aren't you? Because the original Japanese is ten times scarier than the dub. Megumi Ogata has a talent for screaming.
Also, coming back to that idea you had for the Yoko statue with a Trygon head, I would do the opposite: a Trygon body with Yoko's head, arms, rifle, and um...boulders attached.
i think this is a law of nature... when you reach a certain age and your parents need your help... then they get back at you for all the strain you have caused them over your own childhood... and the bayback is with interest^^ lots of interests
Also, thank you Childe, for introducing me to the joy that is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann! I started watching it last night and it is awesome. The bit with Kamina's father, though...Sad. Very sad.
Yeah. I am planning on getting a PC and a scanner though, so first chance I get I will scan them for you.
Also, Animeseason, the site I was watching TTGL on isn't working at the moment. NOOOOOO!
I was very tempted to go ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWAH on the computer when it stopped working. Ah well, there's always Squid Girl.
Automatically Appended Next Post: The website still isn't working, and my completely incompetent arse wipe of a father totally failed to solve the problem, as well as acting in his normal holier than thou way. God I hate him.
Discovered that my mum's laptop can play videos on the site. More TTGL! More Yoko! Huzzah! THANK-GOODNESS-I-CAN-FINALLY-WATCH-AWESOME-ANIME-AGAIN PUNCH!
The thing I like about Yoko is that she manages to be a mega fanservice girl and extremely competent at the same time.
Also, may I recommend Black Rock Shooter? The OVA and the Anime are awesome, although they have completely different stories.
well... to all the other issues you have it seems you are compensating an ill eating habbit through your wargamning and modeling.... do you want to talk about it ... childe

So there you have it. I have a lot of the Orge stuff already, but with me wanting to replace the gnoblars I own for classic goblins, as well as building up the force I currently own it will be a nice little project to do... oh and hey need painting too
So much innuendo. so much innuendo. Nice revamp though.
My own Lizards tend to take more of the Monsters they tend not to take (because Carnosaurs and Stegadons are let downs at the moment) as well as Hydras and the magic item that lets you move woods about. Because everyone needs mobile forestry.

The list is just moving in a newer Direction now... the story behind the list remains much the same, but instead of a Tyrant its now the Slaughtermaster... raised by mournfangs and taught arcana by the Dawi Zharr
going to start writing his story tonight I think... I'm bored gakless and everyone I know is out tonight...
A little later than promised, but here is the story:
To the east of the Empire, over the Black Mountains, through the blasted ash-wastes of the Dark-lands, lays the Mountains of Mourn, home to the Ogre Kingdoms. Here in the predator rich snowy lands, amongst the nomadic Ogre race, there once existed a tribe known to outsiders as the “Snowstalker Tribe”. They were a small tribe with a predilection for hunting and migrating during snowfall, this was to cover both their scent and tracks. It was in the course of one of their great hunts that things changed beyond all measure for their number, when they happened on a Pride of Mournfang that was of extraordinary size. The tribe became hopelessly outmatched when the vicious beasts sprang their trap on the hapless Ogres; quickly the hunt became a bloodbath for them. Hunters now became prey, despite the Ogres vast size and brute strength, and they soon fled, leaving everything they possessed in an attempt to flee.
Soon the din of the massacre died down, with the last blood curdling scream echoing through the mountains. From the Mournfang’s number stepped forward a hulking great male, the Alpha of the pride, and as it made through the bloody corpses of the Ogres it came across the lone survivor, a small almost new born Ogreling. With trepidation, both the Ogreling and the Alpha moved towards one another. As the gurgling infant reached out towards the snout of the giant beast, The Alpha sniffed the Ogreling in return, and licked it once across its face. Something inside the beast changed, and with a low growl, the Alpha signalled to one of the others from the pride which stepped forward and took the chubby infant Ogre into its maw. The pride then strode off into the mountains towards their den, the Ogreling gurgling and giggling all the way, leaving the scene of slaughter far behind them.
There in the Mournfang’s den the Ogreling was raised as part of the Pride, suckled at first on the females, and then subsequently taught to hunt by the males. As the infant grew into adolescence and the years wound on, he showed an uncanny ability to adapt and learn at an incredible pace, despite the difference of species. Somewhat intuitively, to fit in with the Pride he took the skull and fur from a Mournfang, which had challenged the Ogres place amongst them and was subsequently killed by him in combat. Now fully accepted amongst their number, the almost fully grown Ogre had shown cunning, aggression and boldness in tactics which led to the Mournfang’s ascendancy as top predator in the region, above that of the Ogres themselves within the Kingdom.
One dawn as the Mournfang slept within their den, the Ogre was plagued by visions in his sleep. Tossing and turning, he witnessed scenes of fire and molten ore pouring, the smell of ash and brimstone overloaded his senses forcing him to wake from his fitful dream. The images and smells shifted into one glowing light which burned like a beacon in his mind’s eye, and even upon his sweaty awakening the light still burned off in a direction he had never travelled before. Curiously he sat there pondering what he had seen, but it wasn’t long before he had made his choice. Silently he took off his mantle of skull and fur, placing them neatly in his sleeping place, naked as the day he arrived, the Ogre left the Mournfang’s cave toward his unseen goal.
For days he walked, crossing mountains, rivers and forests, encountering things the likes of which he could never have dreamed on his journey, constantly being drawn like a moth to flame by the beacon that blazed in his mind. It was upon his eighth day of travel that the Ogre found himself following one of the many tributaries that flowed out of the Mountains and headed south. Soon he found himself with a choice to make, before him stood the vast width of the River Ruin, should he choose to wade its unknown depths, or give up and return to the Pride which raised him? The light which guided him this far pulled too strong on his senses, and so the Ogre waded into the slow freezing waters of the river. Ice flowed past his bulk as the waters rose around his neck, thankfully that was as deep as the waters grew and it wasn’t long before he had crossed its cold darkness. Dragging himself from the waters, he crawled along the ground, chilled to the bone by the unnatural icy touch of the river and struggling to catch his breath. After a short rest, the Ogre regained his composure and made on his way across the unimaginably featureless plane of ash and sand that sprawled beyond his sight from under his feet, confused by the sudden change in both terrain and temperature.
On the third day of crossing the planes, after fighting off hallucinations, hunger and thirst, the Ogre spotted something heading his way. With no terrain to hide behind, he decided to adopt an aggressive stance, taking up the biggest of rocks in each of his hands as makeshift weapons. Soon the shapes took on a form, making out colour amongst its size of brass and blackness, glinting in the harsh desert light. Despite the vastness of colour, as the mass approached the Ogre he realised the stature of what headed his way was much less than he had imagined, barely the height of half his leg. Still wary of the tiny things before him, he stayed an unmoving statue as the wall of sixty or more tiny things stood to attention before him. The shiny warriors, who sported masks and huge beards of black which were more ornate than the armour they wore, parted to let a slightly taller one of their number out from within their ranks. This one was different from the rest, being unmasked and rather grim of nature, with heads hung as trophies from his body and other such trinkets. Soon it dawned on the Ogre, realising this thing before him was the light beacon which had guided him here. Pointing a finger at the Ogre, the tiny thing growled in a voice not unlike a roaring furnace, and slammed his fist into his own chest. The Ogre in return dropped his makeshift weapons and dropped to his knees, approached the thing before him, sniffed once and licked his face. With a loud shout from the armed and armoured things, they bore arms and made to march on the Ogre in protection of their master. With a raised hand from the unmasked one, their number ceased their advance as quickly as they had begun it and parted to let him back within their ranks. With a gesture towards for him to follow, the Ogre got from his knees and entered their ranks nervously. With loud metallic stomping, the wall of warriors turned about face and headed back into the Dark-lands from whence they came with their new charge safely within their number.
Over the following months the Ogre was taught both the written and spoken languages of his benefactor, who he learnt was of a race called the Dawi Zharr, the world he now inhabited, as well as his mentors name, Dai’Khororr. He plied the Dawi Zharr’s trades and ways of war, marching with his tutor wherever he went, never ceasing with his tutelage even in battle. It was on one fateful day when the Ogre’s life changed beyond all measure, when he was shadowing Dai’Khororr as he was binding a creature of balefire within runes and hell-forged iron, with the baleful arcana he could control. With a thunderous crack, something had gone wrong with the incantation, and seeing the skein of magic fail, the ogre threw himself between his master and the ruinous energy that flooded the room. Within seconds the room was quiet and the energies had dispersed. The Ogre lay atop his master unmoving, but slowly his vast rent form moved, miraculously they both had survived. As Dai’Khororr tended to his faithful students wounds he witnessed them knit, but upon their closing they and the area around them turned to stone, hardening. Within moments half the Ogres body had become movable rock, still allowing all the movement he had had before. That wasn’t the only change Dai’Khororr saw within the Ogre, he could see the winds of magic flow through his veins, the obvious result of taking the full force of the arcane explosion.
For saving his master the Ogre was given the name Uzkul Dhralu’kau, meaning “Skull Brother of Stone”, and within days of his accident, he had mastered the power from within him. After a lengthy discussion with his mentor, Dai’Khororr had suggested to his student a plan to benefit each other using Uzkul’s newfound abilities, and dawn the following day saw his departure from the Dark-lands. Acting upon his mentors instructions, the Ogre had returned to the lands of his upbringing, first returning to the Pride of Mournfang’s which raised him to reassert himself as a friend of the beasts, and secondly to bring about the control of the Ogre tribe he was once born to. The Mournfang followed Uzkul willingly; sensing the power within their former Pride-member, but the Ogre tribe did not succeed their power to him willingly, and after a month of slaughter the tribe pledged their loyalty to their lost son due to the unstoppable power he unleashed upon them in the combined form of arcana and Mournfang’s. From within the Ogre Kingdoms, Uzkul established a new tribe, one which moved swiftly on the backs of Mournfang, and traded slaves they took for armour and weapons with the Dawi Zharr.
The tribe eventually established a permanent home in the west of the mountains of mourn, creating a perfect place to strike from to collect slaves destined for the Dark-lands. So beware all who enter the Ogre Kingdoms, if you find yourself lost in the west of the mountains, you may find yourself at the mercy of the “Slavetaker” Tribe, prey they don’t take you alive…
Cool.
Well there's only so many models one can paint at any one time.
but there's only so many models out there and there will always be a need to paint something.
mini update for you all, I have been doodling the last few days to try and work out an amalgamated Chaos Dwarf & Ogres symbol for the Slavetaker tribe, and heres the result, thoughts?
Reeeeeeeet, what with christmas and what-not, there isn't much in the way of updates flowing out of here... but, I have plans, and i guess I shall share them with you ^_^
Stuff to buy:
3x Boxes of Mournfang. 1x Box of Ogre Bulls. 4x Forgeworld Rhinox Riders ?x Modular Movement trays. Lots of random classic models.
The Ideas:
Firstly, with my tribe being the Slave takers, I wanted to re-do all the Gnoblar units/models in my army. With that in mind I want to buy a gak load of classic models, because Weety has influenced me here a lot.
So with that in mind I am currently watching the following types of models on ebay a lot (all metal):
Goblins, both Night and Forrest type. Orcs, the really skinny old school ones. Skaven, again old school. Plastic Flagellants. Hobgoblins. Dwarves, old school. Chaos/Pirate Dwarves. Gnoblars, both plastic and trappers. Snotlings. possibly 40k grots? Drunken Warhammer Fantasy models. for that, "where the hell am I?"
Now, the Ogre Bulls I will buy, which contains 6 models. now these are to bolster the already made and some painted mutant/chaos altered Ogres that inhabit my army. So for some of the ideas I have had so far...
Zombie Ogre:Rotten, guts hanging out, ribs exposed arm missing, but in other hand as club. Mutilated Ogre:This one is based on the Giant in the original Ogres army book that Jacobs Neilsen had done. Basically his arms have been hacked off and given chains added to the stumps with steel balls on, maybe a mask or something a la hannibal lector. Pink/Blue Horror Ogre:this one speaks for itself really... rapidly mutating and changing, like the old horror models of 5th ed 40K. Fish/mer-Ogre:This one is my favourite lols, half ogre, half fish. using river trolls bits and sculpt a fish tail. Dragon Ogres? nah... FISH-OGRES!!! Big-Daddy:this is a late idea lols, one I just had when looking at the front page... You all know what a Big-Daddy is so no explaining needed
I also need to do the following Movement Trays:
a 4x2-Mournfang tray. a 4x1-Grimhorn Rhinox tray. a 5x1-Leadbeltchers tray.
