Also, AnUnearthlyChilde, you will be pleased to know I watched the entire series of Neon Genesis Evangelion and End of Evangelion...
Goddamnit they were terrifying.
NGE was, if you ask me, an excellent series. Whilst I don't want to be associated with the "2deep4u" crowd, I did think it was a deep interesting show. It was actually really enjoyable up until episode 13. Then it started getting creepy. It kept getting freakier and freakier until I watched episode 22...
And I think my head asploded out of sheer horror and revulsion. I can never listen to Hallelugah again thanks to that episode. Asuka was obnoxious (loveably so) but that bit was so cruel I nearly turned off the computer. The psychosexual imagery didn't help. Episode 23 was terrifying as well, although mainly out of sheer squickiness ("It hurts, Shinji"...UGH). Once again the fruedian imagery didn't help at all. Episode 24 was less disturbing and more just plain sad. To see Shinji finally meet someone who truly loves him, and then to have that person cruelly wrenched away was just heartbreaking.
As for End of Evangelion, it was the most disturbing thing I have ever watched EVER. The screaming, the brutal deaths of all the characters I had grown to know and love, that HIDEOUS dream sequence where Asuka is so cruel to Shinji that he finally snaps and tries to strangle her, followed by ultra fast pictures of rotting animals drawn by children, and a cheery pop song about suicide (Incidentally, "Komm, Susser Todd" is German for "Come, Sweet Death") followed by everyone getting hugged and turning into tang and Giant Naked Rei rapidly decomposing and poor Asuka being eaten alive and feeling every moment of it and ARGH...
The original ending may have been difficult to understand (mainly as it is deliberately vague and open to interpretation) but at least it wasn't soul crushingly depressing...

Shikabane Hime and Darker Than Black? Never heard of them. Will check them out. TTGL is a little bit too heavy on drills and ROW ROW FIGHT DA POWAH for me. But maybe I might get round to it. Hopefully it's on Animecrazy. If so I will try and watch it.
And seriously, if you weren't thoroughly disturbed by NGE then there is something wrong with you. Something very, very wrong.
And you still need to make Yokonid! And maybe Reicron and Misatofex as well...
