Either way great job, the fact that it's easily distinguishable as multicam is the amazing part. I really like how you value the low-profileness of IG fluff, whenever I see those flashy bright colored regiments I want to smash their models and hit them in the face for it.

Damn, just nearly sprayed coffe over my keyboard! LMAO
Cheers for that mate.
I thought about having a go at MARPAT (desert version) on the previous IG platoons, went with the three colour pattern instead as it was a lot simpler.
Added a bit more green to the Multicam effort to try to make it look more like Brit MTP.
And just to really freak you out here's an old pic of some of my earliest IG - suffer!
These guys spent over a decade forgotten about in a storage unit - thinking about repainting them (got approx platoon of 40 blokes)

Cheers guys, all comments much appreciated.
@ Sckitzo: Thanks for the link that actually looks quite doable, I've got a few Inq 28/Necromunda figures to do and was thinking of giving them all different camo trousers, to try out some other patterns.
So will have a go, funnily enough it looks a bit like one of the stages I went through with the MTP blokes
Thiis is another pattern I wanted to have a go at:
Although I'm not sure if I can make it work in 28mm.
Got this slowly ongoing test group of 1:35 scale blokes who will end up in a small diorama as a 1970's Rhodesian Light Infantry stick.
Just a shame the FN's look a little undersized

Bloke pointing pistol, magically holding lasgun in other hand without recourse to opposable thumb does spring to mind.
He's waiting for a grippy hand swap, ran out of bits.
Quite a few of the minis with lasguns in one hand are metal and came out of the blister that way; the one handed, butt on hip poses are FW bits.
I've copied the holding weapon by pistol grip pose on a couple of blokes with demo charges and a chap with a mine detector.
From personal experience I never had a problem holding a rifle by the grip one handed whilst carrying something in the other hand (firing and hitting something would have been a whole different story!)
If it's this guy in the middle, I totally agree with you:

@ Sckitzo : The carrying handle serves no purpose other than to collect crud and provide another reason to be shouted at.
Although I've seen some great pictures from certain West African countries, to whom the UK Gov of the time sold a lot of FN FALs, all with what looked like carrying handle welded in the upright position.
Nice to see a sense of humour in the arms trade.

Thanks for all the encouraging comments; re the camo, I've had a go at a few different ones. Old metal IG were a sort of woodland pattern; then tried the second Gulf war US three colour desert pattern, when the plastic Cadians came out. Latest IG are an attempt at MTP (multicam) & Imperial navy crew are in a sort of USAF tigerstripe, that came out more like a blue version of French lizard.
Also tried a somewhat fadded/subdued Lizard pattern on my chaos grunts:

Point is how did you make your mag? I was thinking of making a cloth magazine for it instead of a box one, do you have any ideas as to how?

Thanks guys, got three more groups of four to go:
@ Rogue Wolves:The three ornate blokes are from the origional 'forces of the Imperium' lot and the backpacks are part of them. Also got the two 'ugly-sister' servitors from that page along with; Astropath with staff; Navigator (what no third eye!); Assasin with combi weapon. I'm after the Tech priest.
http://www.solegends.com/citcat911/c2034impforces-h.htm
The chap with the punch dagger was from this set:
http://www.solegends.com/citle/citle2000/Skulz/skulzadeptus/skulzadeptus.htm
I've got three of the other's, not really liking the servitors or the Magus, but I do want to get the kid with the book.
Re punch dagger bloke that I did, I'm not sure about colour choices. He ended up with red armour whilst caught up in a batch painting session, so the cloak had to be a different colour. Problem I have is every time I look at him I expect Dorothy to land her house on him to get hold of his Ruby slippers . . . may have to redo. . .
@ motyak: The heavy bolters are from Space marine scout sets:

They are the most accurately detailed minis I've yet seen, considering the scale. I can see me buying the rest of the set . . .

Agreed! Who makes the Commando mini?

Post by: Ash 1
Tank Commander is a 1/48 scale 'Panzer Commander' by MIG productions. He's a bit lanky and tall, I cut him in half and sanded down the waist section prior to re-gluing and he's still a head taller than a standard IG. I just added a holstered pistol and the binos:
The veteran I found on eBay, I believe it's from the old Future Warriors range by Grenadier models. Added some pouches and backpacks:

The modern British Infantry were picked up at the Salute exhibition a couple of years ago for the bargain price of £1 each. I just really liked the amount of detail on them, the pouches even have the ITW Nexus clips on them.

Size wise they could be used as IG:

Mate, its easy. Either paint the dark colour first and then edge it with the light. Or paint the lighter colour and fill in over the top with the dark.
