Greetings everyone, first post on Dakkadakka here!

Picked up this gal from an online discount Reaper Miniatures shop, mounted her on a rock I found in my driveway and replaced the cartoony-looking blade with a proper one from the Skaven Clanrat set. She needs a few touch-ups, but I'm happy with her enough to show you all Amaranth (named so due to the fact that I listened to "Amaranth" by Nightwish multiple times while painting her)!

I'm sorry that you got one of the sorry excuses as a roomie, but I'm a decent guy; don't pretend to be an animal in real life, I don't scream "yiff" every 5 seconds, I'm an avid gamer (Retro video games, XBOX 360, Warhammer, RPGs, etc.), and I'm intelligent. And no, I don't own a fursuit, though I do plan on making a set of Death Guard armor later on. Also, why do people keep ASSUMING that I'm a furry just 'cause of this figure? Thank you, Fallen! Whatever I am or am not behind the screen really makes no difference; the fact that I can convert and paint miniatures very well does, though. I would blur out the nipples a bit in your photos, as nudity isn't allowed per se, but the model looks very nice. I love the eye. The way that the green in the eye contrasts just enough with the orange to make is stand out, yet the orange still holds your focus.

And nay for tattoos, because of the fact that Tattoos are for the skin, not the fur. But "Brushed On War Paintings" would be fine by me!

Also, a last note: The hand looks very awkward. Was this done during the changing of the blade, or did the model come with the hand like that?

And yay, someone noticed the green in her eyes! As for the blurring, I may do that on my laptop; don't have access to good art programs right now. :( For the hand, it came that way; the wrist is turned, she's holding the sword blade-down but her hand's turned if that makes more sense I was going to replace it, but I had no hands that are the right size. Gal's tiny! XD

And tats/brushed-one, it's the same in application And perhaps the tattooing process (or even dying?) causes it to always grow back dark in the tattoo's pattern? Need to look for some designs...

As a Slaneesh player I am pretty much unphased by the concept of anthropomorphs. The old keeper of secrets had a Cow/Goats head wearing spiked leather heeled boots and an exposed breast and crab claws. No need to get worked up, Kepora has every right to post this. Posting 4chan rubbish is also a stupid move, perhaps it is you who should be removed from these forums not Kepora.

Now to the mini itself. I think is a bit shiny, did you use inks? Perhaps a very light coat of matt varnish to take the gloss away. Also, the paint itself is a tiny bit thick, try to thin the paint a bit more or grab yourself some Flow-aid if you can.

The mini is very well painted, and the laughs from all of the people getting so upset over it were good too. I'm not a furry but I think it is absurd to be so up-in-arms over it.

It´s funny that a nicely painted mini can get people so up in arms only because it happens to be a fox... with boobs.

Anyway, the paintjob is nice, if somewhat glossy. The base seems kind of... bland though. A few bits of grass, or a differently colored ground might help the base imo.

Things have breast, humans have breasts ,foxes have more than 2 teats, so in reality you should be thanking the OP for reducing the possible nudity your eyes might be seeing.If you can't handle seeing breasts don't use the internet, and try not to stare too much when a woman breast feeds a baby on public transport ( OMG the SHOCK AND the HORROR of it all). Seriously i don't see the problem with this at all, there were people being shocked by breasts 200 years ago in classical art , and you're trying to tell me you're still shocked or offended?

Thank you for your support! And like I said eariler, there are many other models, even in the GW/FW range, that are far worse than this! XD

The shiny-ness came fromt he sealer I used; it's the only sealer I've tried so far that doesn't "cloud up" (damn Louisiana humidity...). And it's less the paint thickness that you're seeing and more of the primer; it went on a tad thick ona couple of spots. I had to spray it a little more than I wanted because the spray decided to "fuzz up", which would've just ruined the model.

yeah, I plan to add a bit of grass here and there after I do some final touch-ups to the figure itself.

And yeah, there are FAR worse things on the web/in miniature form than this gal.

Its an ok paint job, as for your choice of mini... well there was that one "wet nurse" figure from awhile back, and this mini is nowhere near as extreame as that one was.

Fairly nice paintjob! Though it needs to be dulled down a bit as others have mentioned when it comes to the shine.

Not dipped, actually XD I finish most of my models by washing the whole thing in Devlan Mud, it's a great all-around shading wash and helps tie colors together.

Dang I'm disappointed I though I was going to see something like the wet nurse. I really don't see why this is not suitable for work! Made me laugh as this is really not gratuitous.

Anyway I like it the two tone fur look good and adds to the finish. The sword looks good in her hand is bang on the right size.

She looks very good, except for (as has been stated) the slight sheen and the semi-boring base (rocks are ok, but some moss might really brighten it up!). I do agree that some tribal markings or something along those lines might really make the mini pop (especially if you do it in a "spot color" sort of way) but I'm failing to think of a color... maybe a lightish blue?

The paint on the fur is a little thick. The tail could use some dry brushing.

The rock could use a lighter grey dry brush.

Not my cup of tea, but the painting has promise.

I think the whole Furry thing is actually pretty unique and, at the request of a friend, I picked my own 'fur-sona'. I'm sure you've already answered this but it's late/early so I may have missed it so I'll ask anyways; are you going to be doing more furry themed units and, if so, what can we expect?

It's great seeing people branch out and not live under GW's little parasol of "OFFICIALLY LICENSED MODELS". There are so many other amazing companies out there with truely unique models that don't get the time of day because of those foaming at the mouth fanboys.

I also have to give you a ton of points for doing NSFW (even if it's gentle). There seems to be an entire division of people that want 'this filth' off the internet (I know, a bit of a paradox and quite laughable) so it's pretty kick ass to see people doing their own thing no matter what's said about it. Hell, I'll support you and Doomthumbs till the end. Just keep doing what you love and don't let haters get to you.

I agree with everyone else. Solid looking model, and I'm even ok with the bright colors. Reminds me a bit of animation. As for all the haters, you're handling them perfectly. We all have our things, and far be it from me to judge anyone for theirs.

Bottom line, boobs or no boobs, its a fairly horrible model with an average table top paint job on it.

I'd paint strip it and try again, the paint seems far to thick and rather bland.

Well at least it doesn't have multiple genitalia, if you know what I mean.

Yeah, we aren't so bad when ya get to know us! And a number of us are pretty creative individuals, so that's a godo thing when it comes to minis! As for the markings...I'll consider blues, but a light blue would blend in too much with the orange, being bright already

I'm going to try to; I havea loooong overdue mini trade with a gal who goes by Jax of my hyena character in Tau armor, and the last I saw it was looking GREAT. If you count Skaven, then I'm starting on a skaven Traitor Guard force... And yeah, I felt like branching off from GW a bit, look for some interesting sculpts, and this was the best fox/wolf/etc-person that I could find!


And kudos; I honestly didn't want to tag it as NSFW seing as it's simply breasts, but the mods deemed it necessary. I'm fine with it, seeing as they also dealt with the haters. Horrible model? I think it's rather nice. :( what's wrong with it in your opinion? And yeah, not my BEST paint job, but she still needs some touch-ups.

Again, I blame the thickness on my primer acting up, the humidity in the air spiked when I was about halfway done primering her, so....yeah. Once I get some Purple Power and a good day that isn't so windy/humid, I'll give her another go.

As opposed to grass, have you considered some kind of moss? You can probably achieve the same effect with static grass, but a nice dark green moss might make it more earthy.

I think I might just agree with CrazyThang. I think moss might just look a bit better then grass, like she's crouched on an outcropping, waiting for her prey to pass by.

Surprised no one has said this. Easy way to cut down on the gloss, go back over it with a single coat of Dull Coat Lacquer spray paint. Testor's makes one that I've been using on most of my things. And yes, before you ask, lacquers work perfectly fine with acrylics and will definitely cut down on the glossyness of it.

Actually, I said it earlier! XD I said that I wanted to try and get some when I could, and I asked if anyone knew of anything I could get at Wal-mart.

the best way I found to reduce shine was to do a glaze of the last coat over the top. it will still look a little shiny but will have a more matt finnish ^^

I agree with fox-light on the tribal markings, I would also say maybe think about doing some kind of feather work like tassel's on the end of the handle on the sword and maybe a few in her hair. I think it would bring out that tribal aspect more.

It think a nice, deep, dark, earthy color would work well. It would sort of tie in to the base and, seeing as the orange is a bit bright it would contrast well. That's just my opinion.

You're free to have as many issues as you like, and I applaud you for trying to upholed forums rules, but figures with tasteful nudity such as my figure here and the Keeper of Secrets in the other thread (or otherwise, as in that Tyranid case) are allowed it seems, and just because you don't liek somethign doesn't mean it should be taken down. You have the right to your opinion, but there are times when it's best to just click the "back" button.

Also, for the "furry hate" crowd, I bet half of you haven't even tried talking to one, don't even understand what it's about. Hit me up on PM or IM sometime, inform yourself before making your opinions rather than spew what's told to you!

If you know anyone who plays Dark Angels, they probably have some feathers around (granted you would have to clip them off of guns and such).

I would say you would want to check out some of the warhammer fantasy lines Lizardmen or maybe wood elves would be a good direction for this. Looking quick at the sections I found this which you could cut up a bit to get some feathers quite a bit of them but they look rather big....

Get a down pillow or feather pillow, and pop it open. Tiny, tiny feathers, all over the place...

Or just buy the down stuffing wholesale.

Yeah I think, you have some good idea's as well nectar those are some pretty good feather's on the spider rider, I think Wurrzag has a pretty good head dress as well if you wanted to go that route and make her some kind of tribal princess or something Kepora. I guess the only thing I would worry about is the size ratio with the spider since it looks like the base is rather big the feather's might be the same compared to a 20mm / 25mm which ever Foxy Lady is.9

The fox gal herself is tiny; that base is a 25mm square base and that blade is from one of the spears in the new Skaven set, just so you have an idea.
