Like it says, what band are you tuning into at the moment?
For those who aren't in the know. To have stick a youtube video on this page simply stick at the end. Though seriously, you could just go into quote view on someone elses post to find this out.
Foster the People: Call It What You Want
A great single from the band's first album. ^^
This used to be a sticky thread to me recollection, but for some reason this changed. If the mods have inform me to any reason that this topic is against site rules or the like then they by all rights can pull it at their leisure. =P
Don't know how to put up tunes from youtube as I'm a half brained fool but right now I am listening to:
Cut Copy (Zonoscope ? In Ghost Colours)
Kettel (Myam James pt1 & pt2)
Ellen Allien (her Dust album is amazing)
Aril Brikha (Deeparture In Time)
Luke Vibert (Lovers Acid)
Anything by the amazing Plaid
Royksopp (Senior)
That's what is very much floating my boat at the moment: Electronic, Retro, Techno and breakbeaty awesomness to the power of ten.
If you do not understand the awesomness of this video then please, carry on listening to your hipster headphones on full blast.
Not as good as the original "I want my walls painted like that" version, buy still a fine band. Oddly serious for them, no sock puppets or random cuts to Beetles songs or anything. =D
I just feel really sorry of the young guy on the left. All he seems to do is keep the beat, not even getting in on the chorus like mr Beardy Man.
At this very moment it's "St Anger" by Metallica, from the album of the same name, but recently I've been listening to a lot of Saxon , especially from the album "Unleash the beast".

Holy crap, that's awesome. The original has been high on my rotation lately. That cover is great.

I gotcha covered. Just blast this so they can hear it as well
Enter is the only album I can't get hold of for a decent price. I'm loath to pay some of the prices people ask for it, and the earliest tracks available on the Amazon MP3 store are the ones from Mother Earth.
'Feth' Buttons are quite good, remember seeing them support Mogwai in '08. Went off them a bit when Top Gear started using their songs on the soundtrack lol.
Have been listening to quite a few of the tracks from the OST(s) recently. Sorta rediscovering them. The japanese Percussion is just fierce in this song.

Thanks for posting this! It was a neat experience. Nice find.

Yea that was pretty neat TBH. Probably not my first choice of music style but very cool anyways

Agreed. I loved Motograter, was really bummed when they disappeared after their first album, so as soon as I saw that Motograter's vocalist was in Five Finger Death Punch, I went out and bought Way of the Fist. I regret it every day. It's seriously the gak I would've written when I was 15 years old, except this guy is, what, in his 30s? "BAWWW BAWWW DADDY DIDN'T LOVE ME BUT LISTEN TO ME TALK ABOUT HOW I'M A TOUGH GUY. LOL I SERIOUSLY USE A COMMON DEROGATORY WORD FOR HOMOSEXUALS IN A SONG." Like, I dunno, obviously a lot of the stuff I listen to is really just by people whose dads didn't love them, but for some reason the way Ivan Moody goes about it rubs me entirely the wrong way.
Speaking of awful taste in music (or at least, all the tr00 grym kvlt black metal fans on this site are gonna think so after I post this) and bands with silly lyrics, I am listening to:
Black metal? No. Awesome music anyway, IMO. HATE ON, HATERS.

Yea that might be what does it for me as well, its just ass to listen to I think. Kindda like how Stainds first actual CD was really pretty good and gritty, after that he just whined to damn much. I dunno, cant stand them. Just all Ivans previous bands were just good, plain and simple.

Christ, every song they release is just better and better.
I have developed a ritual of listening to this show from midnight to 4AM while I paint miniatures. Right now I'm working on three Leman Russ that I kitbashed into looted wagons with boomguns. The only time I cannot listen is if the guest is some jerk who claims to be a scientist but is actually using scientific themes as a come-on then spews religious nonsense. However, tonight's show is about HSBC, an international bank with branches in 80 countries that has been caught laundering money for Mexican drug cartels. In other words, business as usual.
Comment @ Albatross Filthy tbh (thats good in Dub slang).
Might as well post this:
Starts off as some sort of Primus drum/bass beat and then just explodes, obviousy its drum orientated (this mix) but stunning stuff.
Slightly too experimental for my like but the focus is truely on the drums here.
Do like that song Albatross, Has a Gordian Knot/Cynic Vibe to it, especially in the bass and the palm muted (?, think that is it, not a musician, dont know the terms) guitar.
Been Loving Pelican Atm. Got this album when it dropped but i have rediscovered alot. Love the bluesy dirtiness of the main riff.
By the way, Goatwhore is the best! They offend all the bibletards with their name, before they even get an opportunity to listen to their music. Not that they would, because research is not their way.
This one goes out to Johnny-Crass. Keep her, it's not worth the trouble to look around, because every time you think you've traded up, you're just trading one flavor of crazy for another.

I've been listening to Goatwhore since they released their first album. We hail from the same state, so I feel a lot of kinship with them (I also loved Acidbath).
My dumbass neighbour's have been playing the English national anthem all day along with terrible football music. ...My father doesn't really partake of that kind of thing.

I feel so sorry for you, thankfully my family is Scottish and republicans and living in Scotland there are lot less of those kind of people.

^^ "Location: Glasgow, Scotland" reads my profile.... Meh, being royalists/unionists/racists (and all the other "ists") are the least of the issues that we have with them. .......That they're mostly pensioners is moot.
Isn't really as bad as the rest of the guff that's been getting on played on the radio lately. =P

thanks for the inspiration a few months before i move to Glasgow
Terry Urban's Mash up of The Notorius BIG's Ready to Die and Lana Del Rey's Born to Die called Born Ready to Die. Two things I am not a big fan of but the mash up is really interesting.
I've been listening to a lot of Wood of Ypres lately, this track in particular has been seeing a lot of play. The world lost a bright light with David's death.

I found that video somewhat perplexing. Was it a split between two bands, or are those the same people in the second half? I liked the song though, random and hyper.
The band is the second half, i think they were mocking the other types of bands in the first half. If you notice they all die then the real band comes out.

.....never heard of these guys before, this is really good!

Very nice but I much prefer this version
Right now I'm kinda liking Rita Ora, her voice is amazing especially live, acoustic of how we do = awsome
I've just got my grubby mitts on the new Fear Factory album, 'The Industrialist' and it's all kinds of awesome..as well as Rush's new release 'Clockwork Angels' which is a little heavier than their other stuff but is still amazing!
I'm also listening to Planet Rock pretty much constantly at work.....
Indeed, no one could hope to ever create a cover that's anywhere close to being on the same level as that one. In fact, I daresay that Johnny Cash's version is far superior to the original song.
Another cover song. Certainly not as good as Johnny Cash's Hurt, but good nonetheless.
Can't wait to hear their set at the Olympic opening ceremony. I wouldn't care about the Olympics otherwise, but the fact that they're in charge of the music is enough for me be excited.
I've been keeping up on this situation since last year. I'm still on the fence as to whether it's real or just some elaborate internet roleplay, but if nothing happens by the end of July, I'm pretty sure it will go the way of Tim Turner's Restore America Project.
Ive been rocking out to The Deadlights for a few hours. I forgot how badass this band was. Sadly some jerk off broke into my car some years ago and attmepted to steal the CD player and couldnt get it out, so they just stole my cds.....so I lost a bunch of good tunes. Funny enough, they left my wifes cd case....its still a joke to this day.

On my top rated list in iTunes which is 700 songs, this one was playing when I saw this thread. I love me some Missing Persons, or anything that Terry Bozzio does.
My taste of music isn't exactly mainstream. Despite being a teenager, bombarded with today's music culture every day, I listen to classical music. ... As the saying goes "You can't beat the Classics!"
