Did you convert up the entire army for the client as well?

He was actually very thoughtful and put all the bits into individual baggies for each model. So I did the posing, he chose the bits. The idea worked out really well.

Very nice, although I'm not keen on the painted stormraven cockpit glass (and I noticed that the rear wings on the stormraven are on backwards)

You have captured what I wanted perfectly, and I wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for sharing your skills as a painter, but most importantly, thank you for sharing your talents as an artist.

Of note each model has the night lords shoulder pads, and the "Ciphar The Fallen Angel Backpacks".

The possessed are for sternguard (outfitted with melta nastiness), and the raptors are kitted out as vanguard - want to try a killer heroic intervention with a poop tonne of power weapons.

Looked at the first picture started laughing at how MANY models and how ludicrous it was kept looking and couldn't help but keep laughing at how INSANE this is! I LOVED it! GREAT JOB MAN! I just kept going....does it end?? So good =)

Thematically, this is one of the best 40k armies I've ever seen. It's consistent and easily slots into both Chaos and BA.

In addition, that is one of the most, if not the most three dimensional black paint jobs I've ever seen.

I really like everything but one thing. I am not a real fan of how you painted the cockpit on the stormravens. It seems a little too cartoonish for how the rest of this army is painted

This is great work and in my humble opinion captures the creatiive side of the hobby well with its originality and yet is executed to a high technical standard, well done. I hope you are paid well because you are talented.
Is there any chance of a few tips on technigues for the airbrush shading on the vehicles, I just cant get past the crispness of the vehicles. I have a new standard to aim for (Im not likely to reach but you got to aim high, but i guess you know that lol)

Wow very impressive! I think I am more impressed with the detail in the modeling then the paint. The paint looks very good. I like how you made very few colors pop out. I can see this taking a month and a half to paint. The modeling must have taken some time. Very nice man!

I love your I am guessing Miphiston conversion!! The paint looks good. I just think that the armor and robe should not both be red. It is such a impressive model and the red concentration does not give the detail what it deserves.

From painting level, to amount of models painted, to the time it took to paint them... can really say how incredible this is! Your eyes must be permanently focused to anything within 2 ft of you lol.... unless you have no home and live in a painting factory.
It sometimes takes me a month to paint 15 pts let alone 15000!
Great job on the painting tho, if I try to imitate this its just gonna end in utter failure, keep up the good work!

The bases and shields are from Scibor, the dozer blade is a FW part. However, there are several aftermarket companies that also make dozer blades for the rhino.

The night lords doors, and extra armour are also from FW.

Very nice pieces, but I can tell I've been out of 40K for awhile. They look more like chaos than marines to me.

The army itself is a fallen BA chapter (I do have two Hitech primarch models that Brandon is painting as well to represent the Night Lords and the BA - Two Face lives!). I am relying heavily on the GW and FW upgrade kits for all. Everyone will have Night Lords shoulder pads. All tanks have NL doors, chaos armour, and tasteful levels of chaos iconography (Slaanesh - forget Khorne - Slaanesh is the true master. Blood is for drinking, not for spilling!).

I'm glad this thread get resurrected as i would like to ask the OP if he has a blog or something were he gives a tutorial on his airbrush techniques.
I am about to airbrush some speeders and razorbacks and I really like the look of these blood angels and want to try a similar style on my raptor legion.

I do like the red on black too, so you can run it as chaos or BA, and that is a huge army to paint in the time you did.

When this thread was first opened, I sent a link to my (grateful) friends.

We were all blown away by the stark simplicity of the color-scheme and the intensity leant to the base-colors by the highlights.The models seem to glow - an effect you have been able to achieve with a number of your commissions, IMO.

Anyway, while red is the dominant color (after all, these are Blood Angels, and there is a lot of surface area considering those vehicles) we kept discussing the effect you achieved with the black.

"Neon black" is what I called it, and everyone immediately nodded their heads in agreement.

Nope, not overkill at all. I have sent Brandon two warhounds, a reaver, 40 tactical marines, 4 more razorbacks, 2 land speeders, 6 attack bikes, 5 sternguard, 10 power weapon death company, and about nine drop pods to flesh out this army - never enough.

Yes the next part of this army will easily kick it over 20,000 points. If drop pods werent so cheap points wise it would really add up. 9 pods is only a few hundred points.

Good lord! It takes me two weeks to paint a single squad. I cant imagine doing this in 6.
