Librarian w/ Jump Pack, Blood Lance, Shield of Sanguinius - 125
10 x Assault Marines, 2 Meltaguns - 210
10 x Death Company, Powerfist, Drop Pod - 260
Death Company Dreadnought w/ Talons, Drop Pod - 160
Death Company Dreadnought w/ Talons, Drop Pod - 160
Furioso Dreadnought w/ Talons, Drop Pod - 160
Furioso Dreadnought w/ Frag Cannon, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod - 170
Furioso Dreadnought w/ Frag Cannon, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod - 170
Dreadnought w/ MM & ML, Drop Pod - 145
Dreadnought w/ MM & ML, Drop Pod - 145
Dreadnought w/ MM & ML, Drop Pod - 145
Total - 1850
Should the heavy support dreadnoughts have drop pods? My thought was that giving it to them would give the opponent no targets on turn 1 (i.e. nothing on the table) and then let them drop within multi-melta range to open up transports for the frag cannons to barbeque the contents.
Without drop pods for them, I could fit in another assault squad at 2k:
Librarian w/ Jump Pack, Blood Lance, Shield of Sanguinius - 125
10 x Assault Marines, 2 Meltaguns - 210
10 x Assault Marines, 2 Meltaguns - 210

Furioso Dreadnought w/ Frag Cannon, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod - 170
Furioso Dreadnought w/ Frag Cannon, Heavy Flamer, Drop Pod - 170
Dreadnought w/ 2 x TL AC - 120
Dreadnought w/ 2 x TL AC - 120
Dreadnought w/ 2 x TL AC - 120
Total - 2000
I could also drop the magna grapple and one of the heavy flamers (or change a TL AC back to a MM) to get a powerfist into one of the assault squads.
I've made up similar lists with scouts to hold objectives but I like the idea of the assault squads better. They could combat squad for an objective mission to give me some hope in that regard .
The deep-striking Librarian with Blood Lance, and all the meltaguns supported by the heavy support dreadnoughts should be able to open up tanks. Then blood talons to try to mow through some infantry!
Thoughts appreciated

With the first list make all the furioso the same 160p with claws instead of 170p , and use that 20p for equipment on the death company as they only have a fist. but other then that i like like it!

I would drop the ML on the Heavy dreads. MM, DCCW. I think is the way to go there. Keep them in Dp's. 5 pods coming down first turn is pretty nice.
I also would switch the DC into another Assalt marine squad. They will be able to hold an objective, you would get 2 more meltas.
I like the Frag cannon and Hf dreads. Nice for horde armies.

I was wondering about that! The DCCW would probably make sense if they're in the pods. Would give me enough points for a Magna Grapple, which I would Really like to have in the list
Librarian w/ Jump Pack, Blood Lance, Shield of Sanguinius - 125
10 x Assault Marines, 2 Meltaguns - 210
10 x Death Company, Powerfist, Drop Pod - 260
Death Company Dreadnought w/ Talons, Drop Pod - 160

Dreadnought w/ MM & Fist, Drop Pod - 140
Dreadnought w/ MM & Fist, Drop Pod - 140
Dreadnought w/ MM & Fist, Drop Pod - 140
Total - 1850
I really want to try this out!
As far as dropping the death company, I'd love to, but I need 5 death company models for every death company dreadnought. So if I drop any, I'd have to drop a dreadnought, too.

I like the idea of having some long range threat. Even with dreads you can be outmanoeuvred on landing.
TLAC and even librarian dreads(with shield and wings) would be good to chase down the escaping opponent.

Wow, I did not connect that I could take the wings psychic power on a librarian dreadnought . That's amazing!!
The Death Company Dreadnoughts do have Fleet and so will be able to run and charge.
I want to work in a Librarian Dreadnought, and really I should be able to at 1850 or 2000... will think about it and come up with something here.

Thanks! Still not sure how I'd upgrade it with a libby dread for 2k. Perhaps take the below list, turn one of the Frag Cannon dreads into a Libby (+40 points) leaving 110 left. Enough for an Assault squad with meltagun, or perhaps a unit of sniper scouts with missile launcher and camo cloaks? That would leave me 10 leftover, perhaps drop the Magna Grapple and get another powerfist with those points (either for the Death Company, or the Assault Marines).

It occurred to me that I can put the assault squads in drop pods for the exact same cost as they are currently, and then get 6 pods landing on turn 1. That would be some alpha strike!
Can the librarian (if I drop his jump pack) join one of the assault squads in the pod, assuming I drop a marine?
I may also drop those troops down further to add gear to the death company and the dreadnoughts.

Yes the Libby can join the squad, if room allows him of course.
I think that is a well rounded list. There is a good mount of AT and alot of anti infantry as well.

You could also drop the Libby and put in a Reculisarch (drop on of the DC member too and add another PW) That way all the DC members get to re roll attack and wound dice on the assault. Not sure if it works with the Dreads but it makes for a nice punch. You loose the shield but you gain a lot of hitting power.
Also if you want to change some stuff up Vanguard Vets can assault the turn they deep strike. It usually gives the other player something to think about instead of shooting up your guys. Makes for a nice distraction

That's a pretty solid list! I really like the feel of it. I think you need a Chaplain (either a normal one or a Reclusiarch) with the Death Company for the re-rolls he grants them (to hit AND to wound). It makes them exponentially better, and since they're just throwing normal attacks without re-rolls I think they'll need it. Problem is he obviously won't be able to fit in the Drop Pod they're in, so that's a sticky situation. I just don't think they're going to do much without special weapons or a Chaplain (though I know no less than 10 of them are necessary for the two DC Dreads).
Oh well. Great list though! I might have to give it a try.

Yeah, that's the rub! It seems the only way I can join a Reclusiarch to them and still have them in a transport at 10-strong is to put them in a storm raven or land raider redeemer / crusader. It might not be a bad idea in an armor-heavy list like this, though
I could also give them jump packs (gleaning the points by chopping down the assault squads) if I want to make them crazy expensive but oh-so-scary...
Can a vehicle like a SR/ LR benefit from a locator beacon? In a deep-striking list like this it'd be nice to bring it in via DS, if I didn't have to worry about it scattering... and could put some locator beacons on my drop pods for that purpose.

They sure can. Anything arriving via Deep Strike can use Locator Beacons. The problem is, even though they're not scattering, having huge vehicles with expensive units inside held back in reserve for who knows how long could be detrimental and it's very expensive. I really like the all-dread list and I'm not sure a Stormraven/Land Raider is the way to go. This list seems really cool and man, it would be awesome to see some army shots of this once you've got it all. I can already do most of it, I'm just missing five Drop Pods (I have four).

The BA Codex allows a list like this as they have Dreadnoughts in three different FOC slots: Elites, Troops, and Heavy Support. The C: SM not so much.

ChaplainSluder is right- the BA codex has dreadnoughts for heavy support, Furioso and Librarian dreadnoughts for elites, and Death Company dreadnoughts for troops (1 per every 5 Death Company Marines taken).
I have to get all of the dreadnoughts, waiting on Dreamforge to release their smaller version of the Crusader Leviathan to use! Hopefully that will be in January, and get to me in time for me to paint up a 1000 point version of this for the Adepticon team tournament (with a chaplain and death company in drop pod, and 4 dreadnoughts in pods ).

Thats dirty for a team game, is it random partmers or do you get to pick? I might leave out the DC and just go assault marines, you'll be able to get at least 15 marines (maybe 20) and drop pods cost nothing if you remove the jp

The reason for the DC for the team tourney is that they make 1 or 2 dreadnoughts troops- and you have to split the force org chart with your teammates. You have 3 teammates and play 1 game with each, I believe, so most people are taking 1 HQ, up to 3 Troops, 1 Elite, 1 FA, and 1 Heavy.
One person per team can have 2 Elites, or 2 Heavies, etc since then it won't conflict with the others. I'll likely use the 2 Elites slots in order to take to take 2 Furiosos.
