Some of the text in the pledge levels seems to be off...
Also, I don't know what he means by "garage kit".
I hope this doesn't throw a wrench in the works of Red Box Games' plans, I'm assuming Ed from Trollforged will keep doing casts for RBG, while also doing some sculpting on his own.
These things are all kinds of gribbly. And with Prometheus coming out on DVD, the timing is just right. Fortunately, Trollforged is a little more subtle in its imagery.
I'm pretty sure 'garage kit' refers to that fact that these are produced in house. It's a term that gets used by scratch builders who cast and produce their miniatures themselves, usually in limited numbers due to the nature working so independently.
As for why garage I've just always just assumed it stems from the wifey wanting to keep the mess out of the house
I think in this case garage kit refers to old school models and busts that were sculpted and cast usually without a licence. They were small runs and not really a 'production' as such. They were big scale collectibles. Two of the sculpts on this are about 5" in height, almost like a 3-up of a 28mm mini.

Though maybe there's some sort of workaround using one of PayPal's various debit cards/credit cards and Amazon?
That's what I do.
I've got my PayPal debit card attached to my Amazon Payments account.
In addition to the benefit of having it come from my PayPal account, PayPal also gives me 1.5% cash back on all "Credit" debit card purchases. LOL
The $7500 mark has been made, lets see if we can make the stretch goals!
Here some concept art:
Stretch Goal #1 12,000:
The hound miniature also the 3rd garage kit figure. At this level all pledges will be able to add a hound to their Kickstarter for $4, Grub Worms for $2 per miniature, and Hosts can be added at $5. Host pledge levels will get 1 free hound, the Swarm level will get a 2 free hounds and the queen level 3 hounds for free. The bases have been so popular I will let you add the same pledge level for the bases to your total for another set. This will mean people buying bases can pick up a mini or two pledging extra OR those picking up the minis can grab some bases for them. Please note these goals will stack!
Stretch Goal #2 18,000:
This stretch goal will add the addition of the sky hunter for $8 per miniature. This will be a large flying creature and again I'll post the concept art as we close on this goal. Also at this goal Host level pledges will get 3 free grubs along with adding 5 additional grub to swarm levels. Queen Levels will get a free flyer and also 2 more hounds and 3 more grubs. All other pledge levels will now add a Host miniature for $2 per miniature and a swarm adult for $3.
The 40 grubs for $50 pledge level seems like a really good deal, I'm surprised no one's signed up for it!
You could use these as gaunts... of course, then you'd need to double the pledge, and I don't know if you're allowed to do that? (Since adding more grubs at $2 apiece costs more than they do in the pledge level)
I like the artwork of the upcoming flying creature, and especially the hound (and there's art up for the queen now, too) but I don't like the adult and the host models... the Kickstarter exclusive larger grub artwork looks great, though.
the miniatures are quite cool but i'm still trying to come to grips of what i would actually use them for... i'm sure ill think of something it is already one of the projects I watch. Though it is in contention with a 2 other projects i am invested in during the same pay period
Okay, I have pledged . Darn it! This is my last Kickstarter, after it I am blocking that site . I posted a few questions on the page about adding on models, etc. If we get to the queen level, the grubs become $1 apiece as add-ons!
I see so much potential for tyranids here. Easy ones:
Grubs = termagaunts, Hounds = genestealers, Adults = warriors / hive guard (if converted with a gun)
Harder ones because they're probably too small, but could just be mounted on a really big rock with grubs coming down:
Queen = tervigon, Flying creature = Flying tyrant
If he gets more greens up, it will be really tempting to make a tyranids list using just his models. For now, I'm in for grubs and will watch with great interest
Yeah I went in at Host level (I'm 2 KS projects past the point I said no more!) going to add a small set to my Sedition Wars stuff to give the Vanguard something other than Strain to fight should fit right into the game. I know Ed has plans to release his own game system for these next year.

I was thinking the same
These can be used for all sorts of different alien enemies
This is one of my favorites as well and will be a big, big critter, 4-5 inches tall. It is a grub which has fed and fed rather than taking a host body to transform into a swarm adult. They are beasts of destruction and eat anything they can get their hands on. The fiends are the only other creatures capable of taking down a wyrm.
Also a few better shots of the host, less light. Now back to work.
On the precipice to making my first pledge in this crazy world of Kickstarters. Before I do commit however, I'd like to know what is what first. On the kickstarters page, it says that the host figure is limited edition, and only available to those who join the kickstarters. Is it only that scuplt in particular, or would I be unable to get anymore of the hosts after release?
They're one of the main reasons I'm considering it at the moment, and I want to be sure of what I'm potentially missing out on.
I just upped my pledge to Queen level. That seems to be the sweet spot or Swarm level ($110). He's allowing swaps of the Host models out, so I won't be getting those. But I love the rest! And I think my compiling the pics above shows that they will be uniform in appearance.
ghosty, there is a larger scale (almost 6" tall) limited edition version of the host and the adult. Those are what is pictured in the video, and also the sculpts of those two models that are shown. They aren't the models in the "Queen" and lower pledges. But, there will be normal sculpts of them as well, so you will be able to get more hosts later. In fact, I would just go for the normal ones (Queen level and lower) since they will be smaller in scale, and closer to the concept art (at least for the Adult, for which the larger limited edition sculpt is different from the concept art).
I'll be watching this closely, great ideas but i'm not sure yet. I also think the pledge levels are a bit messy which is putting me off as a first impression. Maybe i'm just a little dense though!
Each time we hit a stretch the main levels (Host = $50, Swarm = $110, Queen = $200) get added bonus figures. I think 21K is Very attainable, in which case all the models pictured above would be sculpted. Sweet!
Casey- I agree the pledge levels are a bit confusing still, but they're less so than before and he has confirmed that he will allow swaps.
Casey's Law wrote: I'll be watching this closely, great ideas but i'm not sure yet. I also think the pledge levels are a bit messy which is putting me off as a first impression. Maybe i'm just a little dense though!
Well for some pledges there is a pic on what you get, only for the Named pledges though

I'll have to admit that i think i was being a little lazy. I'm reading through the updates and stuff in detail now and i'm starting to get what's going on a little better. It's a cool project though and if i can afford it before it ends i'll come in at the highest level.

Yeh those are good aides. I think my main confusion was because i don't have a purpose for them so i don't know which pledge suits me, haha!
I think Ed has been experimenting a little bit with the pledges, it's something he hasn't really done before. So he's also trying and learning.
I really hope this one will become a success, and am also very curious to see how his next kickstarter (which will most likely be human infantry) will work out...
He just added a few more extras to what the Queen and Swarm levels get at the higher stretch levels
I think the ball is about to start rolling on this, with only 3K between stretch goals! And all the next ones look Amazing (Hound, Flying Hunter, Queen, Wyrm, and then the unknown Fiend).
Well, it depends on the levels we hit! The host lags behind the other pledge levels for it's add-ons, but at the higher levels, it starts getting a free big bug thrown in for free (queen, then wyrm, then fiend). So, at 30K, a 4xHost pledge would get 4xQueen, 4xWyrm, and 4xFiend . Might was well just pledge $200 now and figure out whether to go Queen or Host at the end
Yeah, I'm not going for the larger scale garage kits, but I can see why folks would want them! (Also since they're so limited) But I just want lots of grubs and a few big monsters to lead them.
Sweeeet! I am in for Queen as well since until we get pretty high in the stretches, it's the only way to get the adult warrior (with the claw arm on the right).
Great to have you and we should easily be breaking the first stretch goal tomorrow (less than $1K to go!)
Yeh, i think this project will be smashing most if not all of it's stretch goals! The models look great and they could work for so many game systems and armies. I'm thinking Nurgle would be pretty chuffed with these fine specimens!
Good News for anyone taking the queen perk:
Creator Edward Fortae wrote:The queen is going to get something very special everyone will want so it's going to be worth taking that pledge in the end. I'm just waiting for Des to finish up the big guy's.
The massive Fiend will be added to pledges for $20 a kit. This monster is even more alien than the rest a pure prehistoric beast. Some grubs grow beyond that of the wyrm and become fiends. 5-6 inches tall. Host Level pledges will get a free queen and 3 more swarm adults. Swarm Level pledges will get a free alien wyrm and 5 more grub. While queen levels will get a free fiend and 2 more flyers.
Also at this stage I'll allow the host level to replace all their slotta bases with decorative bases for $25, swarm level can do the same for $30, and queen level for $35. That will be a ton of extra bases cheaper than the base pledges.
Stretch Goal #6 $27,000:
This will unlock the alien swarm adult warrior as an add on at $4 a miniature. Host Level pledges will now get a free wyrm, swarm level a free fiend, and queen will get 5 more swarm warriors.
I will also add 5 additional bases to every order that buy's 2 or more pledge level worth of bases.
Stretch Goal #7 $30,000:
The stealth swarm adult is unlocked. This miniature will be an add on at $4 a miniature. Host Level Pledges will now get a Fiend, swarm level pledges get 5 swarm warriors, and queen level add 5 stealth swarms.
I will also drop the add on price for the Queen to $12 a kit. This is a big miniature 54mm in scale.
Stretch Goal #8 $33,000:
The Larva swarm is unleashed. Massive numbers of very tiny grub occupy a large base and swarm the enemies. Add on at $5 a base swarm. Hosts level pledges now get 3 swarm warriors, swarm level add 5 stealth swarms, and the queen levels add 5 larva swarms.
I will also drop the price of the swarm warrior adult to $2 per miniature as an add on.
Further Stretch Goals:
I have more goals and creatures planned as we go through this Kickstarter, lets field the entire series of core alien together. In time if we breach the Queen I'll also add the alien invasion defenders. These will be sculpted shortly by another artist Ian Mountain and I'll develop more of the range as well as more concept art as we build the sets together.
These figures seem nice, but I don't know what I'd use them for (and I've spent more than I'd like to on KS this year) but if it does keep spiking, I might have to buy them anyway just for the "pile-o-figures" aspect...
Same boat as Scipio here, I have bought more than enough stuff to last me for the next couple of years. Every time I visit this page I have to resist pledging. Doing a good job so far!

You can use them for [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydXenL7iu0w]persuasion.
[/url]
Or you can make [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Unf8RNQtxFQ]disturbing non-consensual-sex metaphors

Or for anything John Carpenter-related.

seriously. even the $50 level by the end is a pile-o-figures that would look neat painted up on a shelf or counts-as somewhere (or a warband in Fanticide or whatevs)
Only 11 spots left in the first 200 to get the bonus. He even broadened it from 5 free bases or a free grub, to this:
TFM Update wrote:Also a quick update for those who missed the current goals getting additions to their stretch tags. with the mention of the 200 backers getting the choice of 5 bases or the extra grub. In fact I'll let you pick the limited grub or the host as this option if you so choose. I think it's a great gift for the 200 backers.
This is normally a $6 model (kickstarter-only larger grub, or kickstarter-only host)... so, that's a nice incentive to hop in now if you're on the fence . Even at a $1 pledge you get this bonus. Of course, it'd be better to go for the sweet spot at $50 Host
Darn. I know the image has already been posted but don't thing we have the details yet.
Alien Hunter Troops: These are military trained troops with the mind set and gear to hunt down and destroy alien forces. The fight in small well armed groups with a wide range of gear and weaponry. Padded armor to protect from harsh elements and other nasty things such as acids, saliva, etc. Light armor means rapid movement and deployment while heavily armed weapons cut down the alien hordes. Add a unit of Alien Hunters at $29 for 15 or the amazing deal of $40 for 30 troopers. If you just want to pick up a couple of these minis you can add them at $3 a trooper as well. For those not interested in alien I've also added a pledge level for some troops in smaller numbers than those listed and a large bundle deal.
He put either those or separate stretches of $20 and $70 (international) containing 5 and 50 guys respectively. Judging by the art they would be great to fight against my sedition wars guys.
Glad I asked about the postage stacking Ed has changed it so that you now pay the postage rate for the pledge level you pick and then for every extra pledge level you add you pay an additional $2 per pledge level.
While I'm at Host level for $50 plus $8 postage I also want a lot of tiled bases and have 5 pledge levels of bases added for $80 more so rather than an extra $25 postage it's now just $10 extra. Ed's example showed it even cheaper by picking a $25 bases level as your main pledge level with $5 postage and then stacking a Host level on that for an extra $2 postage but I don't feel like totally taking advantage so I can live with the extra $3 i have to pay buy picking Host as my main pledge level.
I think so! Really, I'd probably be OK with 21K or 24K, but things get so darn cheap at 30K and 33K (ie I can get the same stuff for less). We'll see how it carries, but I think it's looking good!
If you guys could help with the publicity we might be able to pull it off. I'm trying to keep this thread updated, also doing it on WarpShadow (Tyranid forum), the Great Crusade forum, and a post here and there on Warseer.
Anybody on the Papa Nurgle forums who could post it there? What other places would be suitable to spread the word?

Great News! Troll Forged Miniatures has won our October "DMI Fulfill a Kickstarter" Dream Poll! We will be contacting them to fund their kickstarter project $250!
The fiend is a large grub which has gorged on all manner of flesh, hosts, grubs, some have even taken down alien Wyrm in feeding frenzies. They are massive monstrous creatures with a animal intelligence but very cunning hunters. Common tactics are similar to the ant lions dragging prey below ground and surface only when there is a horde of food or creature to large to drag under. The Fiend will be a massive 5-6 inches tall.

Hey guy's do I have a treat for you, the Fiend is coming and he is angry. I'm working a lot this week so I'll do my best to answer questions but Brian is pretty clear on what I'm trying to do as well so he can probably handle some for me if I miss. Thanks again and lets get the fiend you will love it.
Awesome! And he is going to make a Cthulu which if it is anything like the art and the couple of WIPs so far, will absolutely rock:
Ed wrote:I am going to let one cat out of the bag as well. I'm having Des Hanley rework a cthulhu figure into a design that fits this army so your just getting a taste of things. I'm splitting it between a couple infantry items to get them funded but I honestly believe this will be the best cthulhu figure out there when me and him are finished with the design.
Ed wrote:Des will do it justice for sure. I'm so confident it will be one of the coolest sculpts to do I can't wait. I am asking him to convert the wings to appear like the sky hunters. He is working to convert the old design to fit with this nightmare alien horde.

Might be an idea. Do you also post on other forums? You might try to give it a shot over there as well. Just post about this Kickstarter there! I mean...it has so much cool stuff!
Any other info on the Alien Hunters? Multipart? Number of poses?
Single piece miniatures I think. But with multiple poses. Shouldn't be so much a problem. Most multipart miniatures tend to be all posed the same anyways! And Trollcast is pretty easy to work with so you can easily cut it up and convert it.
Pace looks good (a stretch goal every 2 days, since they're only 3K apart). At this rate it will make the holy grail 30-33K where the Host ($50) pledge is insanely good!

New Update, backers please tell Ed that we DO want this
I'd like to add this dreadnought into the kickstarter as well for the alien hunters but need to figure out if people would be interested enough. I will probably need to have someone else sculpt it as I'm going to be busy with the alien and thus expecting the production to sculpt it fairly high. If enough are interested I'll begin finding a way to work it in and get it paid for. Art was by Florent Kristner a member of TFM forums.
The Alien Hunter 'Dreadnought' is in as a paid add on at $21K
"Alien Hunters Dreadnought. With the addition of 2 large alien the hunters are going to need some extra firepower as well as armor. Pick up a dreadnought for $25. He will be on a 50mm base and have options for close combat or ranged weapons. When we reach stretch goal #4 it will be unlocked"
Oh and Bill from Terrainaholic said he is really busy right now but he'll try and get the word out if he has time. Says he knows about the kickstarter though and loves it!
Automatically Appended Next Post: A new update and the kickstarter has now reached $18,872. Is it just me or is it going up 2k a day? Maybe it's only 1k. If it's 2k then there will be no problem hitting the highest stretch goal at this rate.
Update #25 wrote:Just to make things a bit easier I'm posting the changes here as well. Thanks again and we are doing very well today. I did not get time to rework the badges to much as they are getting tight and if we keep going like we are the additions make me need 2 rows anyway.
I should have some new concept art shortly as well. We now also get 6 alien hunter troop styles for the force, so 6 total poses and miniatures. I'm working out the details on the "alien" alien hunters now also.
Host Level: 13 alien grub worms, 5 swarm adults, 6 Hosts and 1 Limited Edition Grub. Stretch add: 1 Hound and 1 limited edition host. $50
Notice only one host pledge can be used per customer for trade in value. Multiple trades of this pledge will not be allowed.
On top of those improved guard, the dreadnoughts also have some new (free!) guns when we reach another stretch.
These are added in at a higher stretch goal to help me fund getting them made. The arms will add no additional cost to the kit it will still come in at $25. Also the dreadnought does not require a shipping addition if your already pledging.
Free shipping is also a nice bonus, might have to pick up a couple of these guys!
Anyway, closer to $300 to cross the $20K threshold...
I was initially VERY excited to go in for "Queen" Level, but somehow I thought it was a lot less expensive than it actually is... Have to rethink this now...
Have to say I like the Dread for $25 and have already included the money in my pledge but $25 is my limit for the Dread if it goes to $30 I'll drop it entirely. I think as people have pointed out $25 is about as much as most are prepared to spend on it - 4 extra arms for another $5 may seem like a good deal but it pushes to price point beyond the sweet spot for most people and it seems that it's not really viable to add the 4 arms as an extra $5 purchase.
Extremely close to unlocking the Wyrm! That's my favorite of all of them, I think. Ed said he'd try to put up a WIP of the Wyrm armature this weekend, to show folks the scale of it.
RiTides wrote: Extremely close to unlocking the Wyrm! That's my favorite of all of them, I think. Ed said he'd try to put up a WIP of the Wyrm armature this weekend, to show folks the scale of it.
I can't wait to see it. I'm on the fence right now (I reeeally don't need to be spending more money on toy soldiers.) If we're looking at roughly Carnifex/ sized models I'll probably pass, if we're talking more Hierodule sized I'm in. It's certainly taller than a Carnifex, but if it's spindly like the grubs I'm not sure how I'll feel. I've got a big ole soft spot for big gribblies though. Makes me wonder why I don't play my Tyranids more often.
Alph, he plans to only make 6 arms- the 2 base and 4 extras. You can vote in the comments which extras you like. Flamer and Drill are the clear favorites so far, not sure about next 2.
Lansirill- The Fiend may be more to your liking (5-6 inches tall and he said it will need the 120mm base, won't fit on the 60mm that the Wyrm will be coiled up onto.
And the Drone ($30 when we unlock it) will be Huge!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Update: You can get 2 dreads with ALL the arm options (so 1 extra dread body) for $45. Less than 1 GW dread
Overlord (Cthulu) is apparently going to be BIG. He's considering $30 on a 120mm base... but I'm hoping he goes for a slightly smaller version for $25 or so. I'd like to be able to cram it onto a smaller base.
I've only been vaguely following this KS. Things like what Casey posted are obviously very useful. Is there also a map to all the other addons floating around? I've checked the KS and there seems to be a lot of "$2 each for these, and $4 each for those" all over the place, and, well, I don't have the inclination to delve deep into the page to figure out what's what. Is the $50 set still particularly good value, or are there still stretch goals yet to go to get it to the point talked about earlier? I can see you get a ton of stuff for $200, but I'm really not willing to drop that kind of money on figures I don't have a whole lot of use for. (For $50 worth, I might find a use for them.)
At 36K, Add 2 more Swarm adult warriors and 1 Stealth Swarm
So, ignoring the Swam adult warriors from the last 2 stretches, where Host level really becomes a fantastic value is at 30K (where the last big bug is added in, that one being 5-6 inches tall). Our current pace is a little over 1K a day. With it ending next Wednesday (it says 6 days but that's "7" to me, technically 6.5) we will make 30K very easily. The last 2 stretches at 33K and 36K are a better value for the higher level pledges, which really need it since Host is such a deal!
Grubs $1
Hosts $1
Flyer $6
Hound $3
Adult Swarm $2
Swarm Warrior $4 (-$2 at 30K)
Swarm Stealth $4
Queen $15 (-$2 at $30K)
Wyrm $20
Fiend $20
Swarm Master $10
Overlord - Not Yet Set (art incoming)
Alien Hunter $3 (or 15 for $29, 30 for $40, 50 for $62)
"Alien" (a la Predator) Alien Hunter $3
Dreadnaught $25 (or 2 for $45 including all arm options)
Custom bases for all models at Host ($25) Swarm ($30) or Queen ($35) not including add-on models
I'll just have to look up what the Wyrm and Fiend are exactly. I'm assuming they're a couple of the figures that feature in Swarm/Queen already but not Host?
Scipio- I am on my phone so can't copy/paste, but the Wyrm concept art is the first pic of the OP (although he may have since added another set of mandibles to the mouth) and the Fiend is the second-to-last pic of the OP.
htj- There is a size comparison pic halfway down the page on page 1 . Again sorry I can't copy/paste atm.
Would be sweet if you guys decided to come onboard!
I'm starting to doubt it but if one of those youtubers comes through and throws a video up it could happen. Out of those that have replied i think JoeyBerry is most likely to do it, we might have to badger her some more though!
Which is why you need an army . Although with things like hive guard equivalents for a tenth of GW's price ($2) you can!
Malika, I meant that around this time in the Dreamforge campaign we still thought we might not get anywhere near 200K. The last few days were crazy! And made up a large percentage of total funds raised.
Charax wrote: That right? for $200+free shipping that's..reasonable (about £125)
Reasonable? I think it's rather excellent! But maybe that's just my opinion.
As an aside, if we keep hitting stretch goals and i receive the ever pleasant gift of cash this birthday then i'm going to have to add some funds to get the garage kits i think!
As it hasn't been posted yet here's the current Wyrm WIP - both Swarm and Queen level currently get this as part of their pledge - Host level will get it as well @$27k
So is Queen a "complete" functional and reasonable Tyranid Army? I have only played a really small amount of 'nids in a Combat Patrol force, about 8 years ago, so I'm not at all familiar with the newest codex.
If you post the list along with what you want to proxy each model as then i can tell you how functional it is as a whole. I can give you suggestions about swapping stuff around too if you would like.
Heh, thanks for the offer, but I don't have the current codex. The old one I have is both out of date and has been packed away somewhere since I moved last and will be staying somewhere until I move again at the end of the year. Then I need to find it, this out-of-date codex. I also have NFI what new or exciting units Tyranids use or do these days. If you can draw up a reasonable list as Alph suggests then that would be great.
Assuming we hit 36K, Queen has:
Overlord = Hive Tyrant w/ wings
Drone = Tervigon
43 Grubs = Unit of 20 gaunts and 23 more to spawn from Tervigon
15 Hosts = Trade-in, see below
15 Adults = Trade-in, see below
15 Swarm Warriors = Use up to 9 as Hive Guard
5 Hounds = Ymgarl Genestealers
5 Stealth Swarm = Same as above, whichever you like better
5 Larvae Swarm = Rippers
1 Limited Edition larger Grub = Zoanthrope
1 Limited Edition Host = Trade for another Zoanthrope
Wyrm = Doom of Malanti? Or trade for another Trygon (see below)
Fiend = Trygon
Queen = Depending on size, may be a more appropriate Tyrant than the Overlord
Swarm Master = See above . Your HQ models!
3 Sky Hunters = See above
Trading in hosts and adults he told me he would give me grubs in a 2 to 1 ratio. So 30 Host/Adult models nets 60 more grubs.
Then I'd trade in enough unused models for another Tervigon. I'd probably use the extra swarm warriors ($2 apiece, so $10 for trading in 5) and the stealth swarm ($4 apiece so $20 for trading in 5) for a total of $30.
This gives you:
Various HQ figures
2 Tervigons
103 Gaunts
5 Genestealers
Up to 9 Hive Guard
2 Zoanthropes
2 Trygons
Depending on the HQs (a pair of flying tyrants runs over 500 points) that can easily be 2K, I believe.
He has said trades are fine . I am going to swap adults/hosts for grubs, but most posters seem to be going the other way. You can work it out later but whether you want a swarm (me) or Nidzilla, Queen is sweet.
Overlord may be too big for a Tyrant, so may need to be used as a Trygon instead of using the Fiend for that... we'll know when more sculpts are out but 6-8" tall sounds too big for even a huge tyrant

Thanks, dude!
Honestly i think RiTides has said it all.
And that's really lucky because i simply can't find my codex! If you still want me to put something together it'll have to be tomorrow when i have more time to look for the 'dex!
Also I am DONE with my pledge... Queen x 2 with $35 add-on for resin bases for all of the models each, and an extra Drone. Expensive, but wayyyyyy less than a comparably-sized tyranid army from GW.
The first lot is what the actual pledge was for, the second list is what you'll actually get including the stretch goals that have been reached so far - there may be more added before the KS closes.
Oh, that's totally awesome. I'm at Uni at the moment, and I'm currently tossing up between Host, or Swarm level. Depends on whether or not I want to eat I guess.
I started at Host level but upped to Swarm level. I will be using the trade in option to get some of the add ons I want that are outside the pledge levels like the Dreadnought. I have no need of 30 Grubs so 15 are getting traded for $15 credit and I'll trade the Fiend once Swarm level gets it for $20 credit - I'm using these minis as alternatives for Sedition Wars so anything that doesn't fit on a 50mm base is out (the Wyrm just about qualifies and I like the sculpt so it stays). The $35 will help to pay for the Dreadnought a second flyer and some "Alien" alien hunters (not Predators!). I've also added the $30 to upgrade all the Swarm level miniatures bases as I want a load of tiled bases for another project and this is an inexpensive way of getting the bases.
I'm trying hard to stay with just Host after a rash of KS funding (no doubt I'm not the only one in that particular boat ), but do want some of the add-ons, so it's getting tricky not to go the same route as DaveC.
Thanks for that link. Should make it a little easier to figure out what to pledge, although it looks like I'm still probably better off going full a la carte since I'm mainly interested in the big stuff. Hosts might be nice for some Nurgle conversions though. Time to go play with Excel.

If you pledge for Host you get WAY more than $50 worth. So, it's definitely worth doing that, and making swaps, rather than going a la carte. As soon as we hit 30K it will get each of the decently sized bugs (Queen, Flyer, Wyrm, Fiend). It won't have the Drone or Overlord, but those are just going to be gigantic, and have to be added on (or will be included in Queen level at 36K).
The trade details seem to be kept very vague but Ed has said you can trade whatever you like and he'll sort it out afterwards the only limit being that you can only use 1 host pledge level to trade items from no matter how many you pledge for this is to stop people abusing the host level trade in when it gets to be really good value so for example you pledge for 3 host levels and get 3 Queens (1 in each) you can only trade out 1 for credit you must keep the other 2 same for the grubs 3 pledge levels worth is 39 grubs but you can only trade out 13 and must keep the other 26. All other pledge levels can trade as they like including where they have multiple pledge levels eg. Queen plus Host pledged for you can trade from both.
To work out how much your trade is worth look at the Add on column on the Trollforge link above that's the current value of 1 of that item and that's how much credit you will get to spend on something else if you trade it in so trade 10 grubs get $1x10 worth of credit. As far and I know the trade for in credit must be spent on something else you can't just trade an item in in order to reduce the cost of your pledge below the pledge level cost.
I my case I have pledged Swarm level $110 but will be trading in 15 Grubs for $1x15 credit and I'll trade the Fiend (nearly unlocked for swarm level) for $20 so I have $35 credit I'll use that to buy a Dreadnought $25, second flyer $6 and an "alien" alien hunter $4 so the overall cost is still $110 but I get more of what I want for my pledge and the costs to Ed are pretty much the same.
scipio.au wrote: So what if you go Queen and also Host and swap out the Host stuff willy nilly while keeping the Queen intact?
That's fine you can trade all of it away if you want (for now - Ed has reserved the right to alter the Host swap again if it ends up costing him too much). Host level is currently worth $71 soon to be $91and it will be $122 by $36k but you have to spend it on something else so really you are just swapping one set of minis or for another or bases all of which have a much lower production cost for Ed anyway
Ok so got the art for the drone and very happy. He has the side transport holes to spit out grub from the thorax as well as plates for the swarm to hide behind, 2 variations shown here. I might make it just a tad sleeker but overall it's just what I wanted.
I also added the egg pack into the $27,000 goal range at $15 for 20 eggs while also giving everyone in the entire kickstarter another gift, the egg base. I'll attach a photo of the base here as well in case you forgot what the insert looked like.
Thanks again and hope we can unlock this drone, swarm master, and the overlord all in one shot, it's a big push toward the very end I know.
and Ed is taking a bit of a gamble that it will hit $36k to cover the cost of moving a few stretches around so that the Drone unlocks earlier - I don't think he'll have to much problem hitting the necessary $36k.
New Stretch details:
$27,000 - Swarm Adult Warrior unlocks. Add on/trade value $4. Host pledges - free Wyrm, Swarm pledges - free Fiend, Queen pledges - 5 more Warriors.
4 additional Dreadnought arms unlock - included free with any purchase of a Dreadnought.
Add on - 20 individual eggs for $15.
Anyone who orders 2 or more Trollcast base pledge sets gets 5 free bases.
Free gift to every backer - one 40mm alien base with 2 eggs on it.
$30,000 - Stealth Swarm Adult unlocks - Add on/trade value $4. Host pledges - free Fiend, Swarm pledges - 5 Swarm Warriors free, Queen pledges - 5 Stealth Swarm Adult.
Queens value for Add on/trade drops to $12
Alien Hunters can get a heavy weapon for $3
2 additional Dreadnought arms unlock - option to buy 2 Dreadnought bodies and get 1 of each weapon option for $45 - the $25 Dreadnought gets a choice of any 4 weapon arms only.
$33,000 - The Drone and Larva Swarms unlock. Larva Swarm Add on/trade value $5 each, Drone Add on/trade value $30.
Host pledges - 3 swarm Warriors free , Swarm pledges - 5 Stealth Warriors free, Queen pledges - 1 Drone and 5 Larva Swarms.
"Alien" Alien Hunters unlock - $4 each to purchase.
$36,000 - Overlord and Swarm Master unlock - Overlord Add on/trade value - $30, Swarm Master Add on/trade value $10
Host pledges - 1 Stealth Warrior and 2 swarm Warriors free , Swarm pledges - 6 Larva Swarms and 1 Swarm Master free, Queen pledges - 1 Overlord and 1 Swarm Master
There's normally a fairly massive surge on the last day, so I think we'll break 36K. I'm considering a Queen order if I can figure out what the hell to use the models for - I have little interest in Tyranids
I'm going to make my first Nurgle force with these!
I've been following this thread as a lurker, but this sounded cool so I had to register to ask about it. :-)
What minis will you be using for this Nurglish force? The hosts? Dreadnoughts?
It's currently trending to $36,576 on Kicktraq's experimental projection (and this is unable to factor in any last minute upswing) and I have yet to see a project fail to at least beat this figure 2 to 3 days out. Most miniature based KS add about 30% of their total in the last 48 hours by that reckoning if it's at $28,000 tomorrow night (48 hours) it may end up at around $40,000 by the end just based on that trend alone.
EDIT - just correct the figures used $38k instead of $28k in error.
Update - $27k done and all options at that level are now unlocked

If you have a copy of the 5th edition rulebook, check out p152. I always found that story to be quite inspiring. I'd like to use as many of these models as possible to create an army of infected Imperial citizens and Imperial Guard. I have a few conversions in mind so the models won't all look the same.
I'll have models left over which i'll probably put in the bits box for a rainy day. I couldn't tell you which models i'll be using for what exactly as i haven't decided which codex i'm going to use. I might use two codex's to get more models in use. I'm so far torn between CSM, IG and CD.
As for the estimated projections on the kickstarter, i try not to get my hopes up with things i can't control. So yeah, i'm not being cynical or anything, i just don't want to get psyched for something if it might fall through, it'd take the edge off the good stuff!
As promised, i said i'd find my 'dex and write a 'Nid list. Slight change of plan is that i'm going to give you the best options i can think of and allow you to make your own army list with my inventory. NB. This is in no way a list of every option you have but in my opinion it's the best fits. Prices are bare bones and include no upgrades even though i'd often suggest taking some.
Spoiler:
Quantity of model [Force organization category] Maximum quantity of listing (number of units x number of listing within groups + number left over to be squeezed in) = Points for listing NB. Please note.
43 Grubs [Troops] 43 Termagants (4x10/2x20 +3) = 215pts [Troops] 43 Hormagaunts (4x10/2x20 +3) = 258pts NB. If you are taking a Tervigon then you should hold back some Grubs to use as spawning 'gants. Although the 'gaunts are most appropriate because they don't have a ranged attack, 'gants with Devourers(+5pts each) are considered one of the better troops choices.
1 Limited Edition Grub [Elites] 1 Zoanthrope = 60pts [Elites] The Doom Of Malan'tai = 90pts [Fast Attack] 1 Ravener = 30pts NB. If you want to use this Grub as a Ravener you'll have to get some more of them as you need a minimum of 3 for each unit. If i was taking Zoanthropes i'd want at least three at this points level i think so i'd consider getting more of these for both of these choices.
15 Swarm Adults [HQ] 2 Tyranid Primes = 160pts [HQ+] 6 Tyrant Guard (2x3) = 360pts [Troops] 15 Tyranid Warriors (5x3/3x5) = 450pts NB. You can only take 1-3 Tyrant Guard for each Hive Tyrant you have Included.
3 Sky Hunters [HQ] The Parasite Of Mortrex = 160pts [Elites] 3 Zoanthropes = 180pts [Elites] The Doom Of Malan'tai = 90pts [Fast Attack] 3 Tyranid Shrikes (1x3) = 105pts [Fast Attack] 3 Harpy = 480pts NB. Considering we only get 3 of these they probably size up somewhere in between a Shrike and Harpy so you might be able to go either way.
1 Queen [HQ] Hive Tyrant = 170pts [HQ] Swarmlord = 280pts [HQ/Troops] Tervigon = 160pts NB. Size-wise the Queen sounds like it might struggle to match the Tervigon but we haven't seen a green yet.
1 Fiend [HQ/Troops] Tervigon = 160pts [Heavy Support] Carnifex = 160pts [Heavy Support] Tyrannofex = 250pts NB. Size-wise the Fiend sounds like it might be too big to pass as a Carnifex and it doesn't have a ranged weapon in the art so it might be hard to call it a Tyrannofex.
1 Drone [HQ/Troops] Tervigon = 160pts [Heavy Support] Carnifex = 160pts [Heavy Support] Tyrannofex = 250pts NB. Size-wise the Fiend sounds like it might be too big to pass as a Carnifex and it doesn't have a ranged weapon in the art so it might be hard to call it a Tyrannofex.

Sounds fun! I really want to do something with those Host minis, and was thinking about Nurgle. I'm just getting back into 40K; can you do Tyranids with Imperial Guard allies these days?
Queen level is becoming far too tempting. Might have to change my pledges around although I will have to figure out how to do so whole still remaining as one of the first 200 backers'
Commander Cain wrote: Queen level is becoming far too tempting. Might have to change my pledges around although I will have to figure out how to do so whole still remaining as one of the first 200 backers'
You can just change; that won't affect you being one of the first 200. I upgraded from Host to Queen myself a couple of days ago; Host is a really good deal for $50, but I'm definitely going to be wanting that Drone and Overlord so I just upgraded.
Plus, getting scenic bases for all the minis for $35 is a big bonus for Queen.
So I would like to pledge for the two Dreadnoughts (I know it will hit the pledge level that unlocks them) for $45, plus 1 hound miniature for $4, plus whatever International shipping is.
How do I achieve this? Do I have to pledge to a specific level and then add them on afterwards, or can I just buy them separately? If I need to pledge, is the $5 pledge a good enough buy in?
Let me know as I want two of those Dread and the hound! Cheers!
Alrighty, art for the Overlord/Cthulhu is here! Three different heads allow you to choose how much Lovecraft/Alien you want. He'll be at least 6 inches tall, perhaps 8 inches... on a 120mm base... that's pretty damn big isn't it?.

Perfect! Thanks for the info. Might have to go the scenic base route myself as well, those alien ones look very promising.

Buy in at the $5 level + $4 for international shipping, then add the $45 for the dreadnaught (as an addon only it's shipping is covered in it's cost) and $4 for the hound
total $58 (You could probably trade in your grub for $1 off, but at that price you might as well get it, if you do want to check with Ed using the contact function)

You are allowed to trade in miniatures that you don't want for others; this makes for a very, very good deal. The best thing for you to do would most likely be to pledge for a Host level pledge at $50 plus $8 international shipping (just put in $58 as your pledged amount and choose Host Level as your reward selection). You can check here what you'll be getting with a Host level pledge (this will be updated continuously) and what those miniatures are worth for trading in (the add-on price). The Host level already gets you the hound that you want, and you could for example trade the Fiend ($20), 13 grubs ($13) and 6 swarm adults ($12) for the double dreadnought deal.
Eh... at least I'm pretty sure that this is allowed; could someone else confirm? (You can always also do what OrlandotheTechnicoloured suggested above.)
And $2 for each additional item? Not sure if I am giving enough cash to cover shipping, but I will contact Ed in any case.
Think I might splurge and go for the bases instead, not to be a complete cheapskate.
Cheers!
Edit: Wow, ok, multiple options. Would love to know if this is the way to go. Not looking to rip him off in any way, just looking for the best method of doing this.
Fenriswulf wrote: Edit: Wow, ok, multiple options. Would love to know if this is the way to go.
I'm pretty certain that it is, but it's such an incredibly generous deal that it makes me... uncertain.
You can always pledge for something and then ask in the comments section of the Kickstarter, you get answers pretty quick there (and you can always change your pledge afterwards, even drop it completely if nothing suits you).
"the trade value for 2 dreads with a host should be rather easy shortly. The queen, and wyrm will put you close already. drop a few grub and you would have it. Go higher in the stretch goals and it would be rather easy.
We just need more backers and the thing will be good to go."
So I am guessing this is an insanely good deal? Not sure where I go to determine what the trade in value of the miniatures is, anyone able to point me in the right direction?
Might see if I can't angle it to drop off down to 1 miniature of the Grub Worm, Swarm Adult and Hosts and make up the difference in cash. Will need to find out their trade value.
And yeah, Ed seems to be going above and beyond for this kickstarter. Wish it was making more cash, he is giving awesome deals left right and centre.
Ed tends to be rather generous, I remember he used to send most people who ordered from him extra bits and figures when they bought stuff from Troll Forged Miniatures. A while ago he sent me a big pack of greenstuff as a present.
I know with many companies you grow wary when they give you stuff, but with Ed that has never been the case. :-)

Will drop down to one of each and add $21 to cover the extra for the Dreadnoughts. If it's any more I will add it at the end.
Brian is working on more and should have them later today. By his own admission these are a bit rough in places but he has very little time left to get examples cast and painted before the KS ends.
I opted for the Host level, simply because it comes with all the miniatures I'd need, but it's also a manageable price, which is good for someone like me, a student.
Now, about this swappy swappy milarky, Am I right in saying I'm only getting a single Sky Hunter and Hound? Is there any way for me to rectify this? (I'm a bit OCD about this kinda thing, the minimum unit size has gotta be 3)
Extra hounds will cost you $3 each and extra flyers cost $6 each so you need to find $18.
If you only have a budget of $50 trade in the limited edition Grub and Host for $12 credit, 2 Grubs for $2 and 2 Swarm Adults for $4 or some combination there of. Nice and all as it is to have limited edition minis the trade in value is to good to ignore.
Couldn't those Dreadnoughts fit nicely in a Nurgle army? Just equip them with the most vicious looking of the arm options (claw, saw, drill, flamer), paint them all rusted and weathered and slime em up a bit. No?
Just another thought on Nurgle armies; there is potential to get absolute hordes of Host minis as they are only a $1 add-on. If you traded everything from a Host level pledge ($50) into host minis you would, at the moment, end up with 91 hosts. To use as cultists, plague zombies, or something, I'm thinking.

Thanks a heap for putting that together. I really appreciate the effort. - It makes it all make a lot more sense. Someone else was talking about needing unit minimums of threes for some of the models. Are there any particular swaps/trade-ins you'd recommend? (If buying just Queen and also if buying Queen + Host?)
scipio.au wrote: Someone else was talking about needing unit minimums of threes for some of the models. Are there any particular swaps/trade-ins you'd recommend? (If buying just Queen and also if buying Queen + Host?)
Well I'm no 40K expert, but for Tyranids I think I would want a few extra of the Limited edition Grub to use as Raveners, they just look like they might be a really good fit, especially if you're using Grubs as Hormagaunts. You only get one with a Queen pledge, and they're a $6 add-on, so a bit pricey. I think Raveners have a unit size minimum of three.
Using either Hounds or Stealth swarm adults as Genestealers also sounds perfect; you only get five of each, so these I would probaby try to boost up quite a bit. I think Genestealers have a unit size minimum of six.
Drone as Tervigon, Wyrm as Trygon and Overlord as Winged Hive Tyrant sound like really good matches to me. Maybe trade in the Queen and Fiend? Also maybe dump all the Hosts and the Swarm adults (using the Swarm adult warriors as Tyranid warriors)?
Tacking on a Host pledge to your Queen pledge is a really, really good deal as you'll now be getting a Queen, a Wyrm and a Fiend with each Host pledge; trade in the ones you don't want, double up on the others. You'd also get an extra of the Hound, Flyer and Limited edition Grub to boost up your numbers on those a bit.
You'll need lots of grubs(maybe 100+) but as far as i can tell you may still have a cash left over even with the Queen level alone. It's not a great list but if it's not what you are looking for just tell me what sort of thing you'd rather field and i'll put something else together. Also, the points are nowhere near exact, there is room for scope either way. I'm not a competitive list builder but if you're thinking along those lines you might want to diversify a bit with Biovores, Venomthropes, Zoanthropes, Warriors and Genestealers, if you can find proxies.
The Troll Forged Miniatures blog has a real handy table where you can see what's included in the Host, Swarm and Queen level pledges, and what the add-on price for each miniature is. It'll be updated as further stretch goals are achieved.
Check out that Host level pledge; at this point it includes a total of $108 worth of miniatures for $50, and it's growing... A good deal, that is.
Fenriswulf wrote: Looking to see if they add anything more to the Host level as they progress. A damn good kickstarter. Really looking forward to the Dreadnoughts.
Host will get 3 Swarm adult warriors at $33,000 and 1 Stealth swarm warrior and 2 additional Swarm adult warriors at $36,000, but I'm pretty sure that'll be it; it's an insanely good deal already (those additions will put it at $132 worth of minis, and that's counting with these cheap add-on prices!).
I went from pledging $20 to $240, decided I have enough human infantry to last a lifetime from various other ks so what do I do? Buy an alien army to give them something to shoot!
A new stretch goal! And its another huge beast, mounted on a 120mm base... and included for free in Queen pledges!
Stretch Goal #10 $38,000 I will unlock and get the design fleshed out more for the massive Artillery beast. The Cannon drone will be massive at 3-4 inches long and need a 120mm base. The kit as an add will be $30 for everyone while swarm level pledges add a drone free while the queen gets a free Cannon drone!
Basic art work by Des for an example art work will be further developed.
I'm more and more tempted to use this as an opportunity to rebuild my Tyranid army. Only downside is I can't use the darn thing at a GW shop, and I probably play 75% of my 40k games there. (Other local shops seem to have more of an emphasis on other games.)
Looks almost certain to break 40k now, which is awesome.
I'm only in for the alien hunters, although I've been tempted by the aliens. If I hadn't just splurged on X-Wing I might have been in for more.
Thanks Bolognesus, so for me the choice would be whether i want to run more daemons or 'possessed civilians'/cultists. The answer is probably daemons so i'll likely be better running Daemons + Chaos Space Marines.
The new art rocks! I've always been a fan of how not Predator looked.
Overlord looks like an absolute LOCK now, which is great! Might even have it by morning.
Then it will be very interesting if we can get the Cannon Drone (38K) and Goliath Worm (40K, and final stretch). With all of them being on 120mm bases, that makes the big bugs that come with Queen insane:
Overlord
Drone
Cannon Drone
Goliath Worm
And Swarm gets Drone and Cannon Drone. So that ($110 level) becomes pretty darn good, too. Host doesn't get add-ons after the 36K level for the 38K and 40K, but it's already such an insane deal for only $50
Goliath wyrm surfaces. Huge beast, 120mm base 6-8 inches tall. Monstrous maw to swallow whole even the Fiend! Add on at $40 while swarm level adds a cannon drone and queen adds the goliath wyrm free! I will also give everyone in the kickstarter a free limited grub worm!
Well, it's a bit rushed due to it being the final stretch (as the 38K art was, too) but it gets the idea across. Personally, I really like it he said the mouth would be tweaked, though.
Not sure if we'll get there but once Overlord is in the bag it's all graaaaaaaaaavy
To be fair I think that the art for the Goliath was probably rushed out fairly quickly. The KS went from not mentioning it at all, to having artwork in... less than 24 hours?
Right now it looks like we're at $117 of minis for Host, $184 for Swarm, and $305 for Queen... Queen is finally starting to pull ahead of the other pledge levels in terms of 'free' miniatures you get in absolute terms ($105 vs $74 and $67 for Queen, Swarm, and Host respectively), and host is still kicking butt in relative terms (234% vs 167% and 153% for Host, Swarm, and Queen.)
...okay, so maybe I saw the Wordpress table and decided I had to make a spreadsheet. I'm a nerd. I can't help it.
Yeah, pretty amazed at how fast the art is coming out myself! Ed just replied to me in the ks and said that the Goliath will probably have lamprey-like teeth and some mini mouths as well. Sounds like fun!

Nothing wrong with being a savvy consumer. I'm just glad they put the Trade Restriction on the KS, without that, one is better off just getting multiple hosts and trading out for the rest.
Urgh, by the time I get back from work there will only be a few hours left. Not much time to work out my pledge. Am I right in thinking that 4xHosts are better value than 1xQueen? It looks like if I get 4 hosts I can trade in for everything in Queen and then some.
No, as the guy said above, you can't trade in miniatures from more than one kickstarter level for other miniatures. This is deliberately done to ensure that TFM aren't shooting themselves in the foot over this KS.
Go for the Queen level if it has all you want, or less and just add in some cash for what else you need.
Ed has had to change the trade in as it was to easy to abuse you are now only permitted to trade a maximum of half the value of your selected pledge level for other miniatures including add ons or bases - basically if your trading more than half the value why are you picking that pledge level when you don't want the majority of it and are only using it for it's trade value. So if you get a host level you can trade $25 worth of minis, swarm gets $55 worth and Queen level a max of $100. Sounds more than fair to me.
Eds post in full
Ok, ok. Due to trade in abuse I'm adding the 1/2 a pledge trade value only. This means you can only trade 1/2 the value of the pledge in to swap items. Many of you are not abusing this but a few want to and it's not fair to limit the host pledge but also abuses the trade in values. You can still stack pledges and various items trade etc. but you can't take more than 1/2 of a single pledge and trade it in for something different. It's getting out of hand at that point. I still want the values to be there for you but also can't get ripped off with a loop hole out of generosity. If your pledging $700 or more, and some are, your going to have no problem any way it goes but your not going to be able to drop in get one host and trade for $200 worth of other stuff now. It's just something well beyond what the pledge was aimed for. I'm sorry but I had to add this, it's a shame but people always look to abuse any weakness.

It is more than fair; I totally agree. The trading loophole could have really gotten out of hand as things were stated. "OK, I'll get a Host level pledge for $50, and I'd like to trade that in for 4 dreadnoughts and a new Host level pledge... Now I'm good. Wait, can I do it again?" You get the picture. I just hope not to many people will be pissed off, and it was a bit unfortunate that this kind of stuff had to be stated on the last day.
Still, though, even without absurd levels of trading, there are some really awesome deals to be had. We're less than $500 away from the Overlord/Cthulhu at $36K, with new stretch goals at $38K and $40K. If we get through these, this Queen pledge of mine is looking really, really good. Exciting!
OrlandotheTechnicoloured wrote: It's a shame the trade ins have changed and become more confusing but it's totally understandable though
Yeah, I'm not sure allowing trading at all was a great idea; probably a case of Ed simply being too customer friendly. Well, actually, maybe it was a good thing since these minis are rather specific; some people might be interested in just hosts but not grubs at all, for example. Maybe it helped to attract a lot of people, I dunno.
On another note; the $36K stretch goal is behind us and we're a couple of hundred on our way towards $38K! Looking good this morning!
Thanks for the link. I've copied the lists that people have posted, and will go over them more carefully later when Ed makes his final call for trade-ins and such. The main reason being I want to keep as many of the different greeblies on offer as possible while also having a reasonable and fun army. (not worried about being hyper-competitive or anything).
I'd do it now, but work is melting my brain lately. 5 long days in every week plus a day of work-at-home means my brain is like jelly when it comes to working out this kind of thing right now..
Almost at 38K Already, and the unlocking of the Cannon Drone! After that it will be just one more stretch
I do not mind the Goliath Wyrm art as I know it was rushed. I'm just glad to see it will have multiple "maws" (if one large one) and not just look like a larger Wyrm/Fiend. Personally I am probably going to want 3, as I will use them for Trygons instead of the Fiend . And I'll be getting 2 "free" with my Queen pledges, so just need to trade in for one.
Oh, and at 40Keveryone gets a limited edition kickstarter larger grub, in addition to unlocking the Goliath Wyrm and Queen getting it free, with Swarm getting a free Cannon Drone. Woot for freebies
The ability to trade things in is great as people will be able to tailor the models to their individuals needs. Although yes at first glance its confusing moving all those numbers around it is greatly appreciated option to have.
Ed is proposing an alternative Paypal option for those interested in the KS, but without a Credit Card as follows
"Ed and I are contemplating a special PayPal Kickstarter page for the store, for when this all ends. This will allow those without credit cards to grab some amazing deals. This page will the same pledge deals as here on the Kickstarter, *but* the shipping is the same as the store, and you wont be able to make trades using it. I'm posting here to ask if there is a demand for this - please ask in forums and such. There is not much time, this page link has to go in before the Kickstarter ends and the main page locks. The only link to this special page will be via the Kickstarter main page (that's if the link goes up).
Automatically Appended Next Post: If anybody is interested post here & I'll pass the info back to Ed, and if enough folk are (between this board and others) he'll make it happen
Alpharius wrote: I'm surprised that the Dreadnoughts and the Alien Alien Hunters haven't generated more excitement...
I think they're big hits! I'm getting them for sure; in fact, I'm getting that whole Alien hunter deal for $105 and putting it on top of my Queen pledge. Getting expensive this is...
Alpharius wrote: I'm surprised that the Dreadnoughts and the Alien Alien Hunters haven't generated more excitement...
Still, so far so good!
Looks like I'll have a really good Tyranid army soon - and one that looks amazing!
I think it's because the main emphasis of the Kickstarter were those aliens. Would be cool if Ed would do a Kickstarter for those human soldiers next and include little alien add-ons.
Oh
and anybody who posts on other boards following the KS can you pass the question about whether Ed should bother setting up a Paypal option.... he wants to know what the demand is like
OK, in light that I won't be able to trade in the wyrm and the fiend from Host level, I may have to consider starting a 'nid army and look at Swarm level
Although that may just get my bank manager hunting me
There, look at that - considering another army for a game I don't play - Oh the power of freebies to cloud one's mind
