I have seen a lot of movies in my day. I actually enjoy watching crappy movies, especially Peplum and bad Sword-and-Sorcery flicks. Therefore, I have a pretty high tolerance for crap, and indeed can even really enjoy crap. Typically, a movie cna never put me to sleep, no matter how tired I am; because I want to see what happens next.
However, there are a few rare exceptions of cinematic ineptitude that have even caused me to journey off into the realm of the sandman. I can actually count the number of times this has happened to me on a single hand. They are:
Titanic I fell asleep when the ship was sinking. In fairness, it was the second time I had been dragged to this flick by female friends. Not even looking forward to the guy bouncing off the propeller could keep me awake for a second viewing. Therefore, I'm not sure this should really count, since it was a repeated viewing that I really wasn't thrilled to see again anyway.
Nacho Libre- Jack Black stars in this Theatre of the Absurd movie about a priest who becomes a luchadore to save a small mexican town. This movie should have been epic. Instead, I fell asleep about half-way in. I guess I wasn;t the target audience for Jack Black's mugging sort of humor.
The Specialist- Sly Stallone and Sharon Stone are in this flick. Sly is a bomb maker who is being set-up by a bad guy, and must use all his wits and skills to survive. Typically, this is right up my alley. I even went and saw this in the theatre when it first came out. I fell asleep in the theatre. All I remembe ris an explosive tea-cup. I sort of want to track this movie down and watch it again....but I can't shake the feeling that I have better things to do with my time.
Starcrash- A Star Wars rip-off made in Italy. Stars Caroline Munro and Marjoe Gartner, which is usually enough to keep me interested. However, this flick is like Ny-quil without the cold reflief benefits. It has put me to sleep not once.... but twice! I have a feeling if I watched it again; it would put me to sleep everytime I sat down to watch it. I'm not sure if it is the loving long shots of bad special effects, cliched and boring dialogue, non-acting acting, or the lack of any intersting story or characters; but something about this flick just causes me to lose consciousness. Perhaps it is the bodies natural defense mechanism to this crap?
So, how about you, what are some movies that have put you to sleep over the years?

Wow, I just had to make my first ever off topic post here and tell you this was the most entertaining movie I saw all year. And I watched a lot of movies this year.
For example, the dungeon siege movie with jason statham. That one really sucked.
Dances With Wolves
I can't believe I saw the whole thing, it was like an endless native american sympathizing vomitfest. I used to think costner was cool, man.

Most black and white films, I need my movie experience in glorious extra-color.
This is not to say that I dislike black and white films, they're just so soothing to watch.
That being said, I have only fallen asleep in a theatre twice, and it was for the second and third Matrix films. The second film I just found boring, (I woke up for the high way action scene, and that was it). And the third Matrix film caught me falling asleep throughout the film, and I missed pieces of the final fight scene. To be fair to that film though I had been up for 24 hours (and this was when I was still not really able to do much to stay awake).
Though on the other hand, I was under similar conditions for the third LoTR film and I didn't fall asleep at all during that.

I fell asleep during "The Grey", but that was more from sheer exhaustion due to family...complications that left me taking care of a family member's house, making multiple hour long trips to the hospital the family member was at, while working and maintaining my own life. I did wake up before the first dude became dog-chow though.
Other than that, I'm able to fall asleep during any movie I've seen already.

The remake of Total Recall. I fell asleep during about the middle 50% of it, and so had no idea what the significance of the end was, if any. And this is from someone who stayed awake through Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I also cannot sit through David Lynche's Dune. That damned whispered voice over does it to me every time.

+1 to this. For the entire trilogy. Saw each of them during daylight awake hours, had double espresso beforehand. Still nodded off about 40 minutes in and woke up during the credits.
King Kong. Peter Jackson's version. Boring as all feth. Nothing. Happens. For. Over. Two. Hours.
Solaris. The remake. Several friends also fell asleep to it. It now has the name "Solarizzzzzzzzz" as a result.
I try not to watch movies with Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrel, Ricky Gervais and a couple of other actors. So I can say I've not fallen asleep during them - but I feel my life is richer for not having ever sat through them.

Well look at the source material, there's only so much you can do with that. I actually tried to read the original, my ex asked me to do it for her birthday or some BS, I stopped about halfway through because I fell asleep reading and lost my page. In a normal, sane book for humans you can find your page easily because there's a progression to the story. Not Austin's work, it's the same conversation, in the same scene, repeated to judgement day. The book is clearly a work of witchcraft and I'm happy to report I burned the copy I had post haste for the good of us all.

I have watched part of one episode of the office ( UK) - the US version was even worse - and it reminded me way too much of my workdays.
I had a boss like that (Ricky Gervais' character). He, too, thought he was grud's gift to comedy. Also, like Ricky, he wasn't.
I find him to be as tedious as any the other "actors" I mentioned - regardless of telly show or movie.

I really, really hate this pretensious piece of cfrap that basically boils down to a simplistic Disney formula of circle of life all dressed up with no place to go. However, actively hating a movie makes me stay awake through the movie.
I could also easily see how someone could fall asleep during Solaris because it moves like molasses in January uphill, but I liked the subtext of the film and it kept me watching. Also, I just couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to happen, and it kept me in a state of tension through the entire thing. That is not something you would normally hear abut this flick.

A few tidbits on falling to sleep during movies. Every night me and the missus turn on an episode of MST3K and fall asleep to it. So we literally fall asleep to a movie every night. I also fall asleep when I watch Star Wars IV, not because I don't love it, but because it always makes me feel warm and comfy on the inside. It's relaxing.
When me and my buddy went to watch LOTR 2 we had both been awake for over 24 hours and we spent the entire movie elbowing each other so we wouldn't fall asleep. Love the movie but it is long and we were tired
Only bad movie I remember falling asleep to at a theater was Star Wars II. I did not learn my lesson from Episode I so I went to go see the movie by myself knowing full well that a group of my friends were going to see the very next show and I was going to join them. So I watched that wreck twice in a row. Went to sleep before the caterpillar assassins showed up and only woke up for the big fight scene at the end.

You...you aren't serious, are you? The remake had no story, insulted the original (the Bubo the Owl scene), and none of the characters had any personality. You couldn't care less about any of them. Back in the old one, you had PENGUIN from BATMAN playing the father-figure to Perseus, you were dismayed when his best friend died, and he ended up with the girl he was supposed to rescue in his quest. Why quest to save the girl you aren't planning on marrying? Stupid, stupid remake. The creators should have been burned alive.

In fact I thought it was awesome.
Also, Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift. Even the obligitary hood ornament hotties were dull, and most of them weren't even Japanese. The main girl was annoying (and also not the slightest bit Japanese) the car scenes were cliched, in fact the best bit in the entire film is when the protagonist walks into the classroom filled with cute Japanese schoolgirls and gets chastised for not taking off his shoes. And if I wanted cute Japanese girls in sailor suits, I don't have to watch through a dull movie to see them.
Ugh.

Unfortunately, it's not quite as good as the title would make it seem, however, I will still take it over the original any day.
Coming from someone whom actually practices witchcraft and whos girlfriend is a witch, trust me its worse than even the darkest most evil of all spells
As for me-any romances. I have this weird abilitie where by i can just predict the plot and see the ending coming a few horizons off. This invetably earns me the hatred of

I fell asleep during Men in Black 2 at the cinema. Either that, or my brain shut itself down to prevent permanent damage.

Chick flicks. The Devil Wears Prada made me want to commit mass homicide via spork.
Most romantic comedies. Frazzled sitting on sofa with the Dog Pack quietly muttering "everyone die. snipers where are you?" has proven harmful to the Wife's enjoyment of them.
Captain America.

Oh yea, and she was the one that had wanted to see it. My rage at having wasted a $1 at Redbox was such that it sustained me until I was able to stagger away with wiener dog and rum and surf the web. I think I got through the first 30 minutes before shutting it off on the TV, too boring.

Frazz, go watch 'Something About Mary'. Romantic comedy that has a sniper try to kill Ben Stiller at the end of the movie.
Still can't fathom your hatred of Cap and, if memory serves, The Avengers....
I made it 15 minutes into Paranormal Activity and turned it off.

It should be called Paranormal Inactivity because nothing ever fething happens in the movie.

Not sure if it counts because I was on a plane and tired but Green Lantern. All I remember about the end was some tentacles and possibly a villain, other than that I am blank!

Other films I have fallen asleep watching at the cinema
Underworld
Kill Bill Vol 1
Harry Potter (the one with the spiders - whichever that was)
Although, these probably had more to do with going to the cinema at 10 pm...having been at work since 6am.
Still never seen all of kill bill. And the 2nd Kill Bill - not at all.
I'm also avoiding Apocalypse Now and Platoon. I've seen them both and would rather watch almost anything else...Bar Monarch of the Glen. There was never a reason for that.

A movie called 'triangle'? It takes place on a ship with a masked murderer and has a time travel plot?
It was fairly interesting but i was on a comedown and a smidge hungover.
Oddly and somewhat coincidentally, in the same scenario i actually sat through the entirety of 'Ghost ship', what a bland film.
That Terry Gilliam film Baron von Munchausen or something put me to sleep. Would wake intermittently to find something else bizarre was going on.
There have been many times where i have started watching a film stone drunk and not recalled any of the details but does that count?
