Escape depicts the fight of the Resistance, a group of dissident humans trying to escape an underground laboratory (L.A.B. 03) used as an anti-atomic shelter.
This LAB is ruled by a maddened computer (NOAH) who decided that its humans denizens can't go back to the surface of the ancient world.
NOAH prefer to use his automated drones to kill the resistant than to take the risk of any contact with the exterior
Escape has already be published in French as a "compact" boardgame.
Released in magazine format, this first opus got a resounding success.
The game consisted of 50 pages booklet where the reader discovered in detail the origins of the ISC and Resistance, a foldable 2 inches square poster as boardgame and two counter and fighters punchboards
We now want to re-edit this game making things big, with a cardboard box and game board, 24 ultra-detailed pre-assembled plastic miniatures, based on our models Eden.
Escape new version will be published in English and French.
What’s new then? Lots of things! In addition to the plastic miniatures, we will include several new game modes, new characters and missions.
If the crowd funding on Kickstarter is successful enough, we plan to develop many features, missions and exclusive characters which we are already on the workbench.

They do indeed have lots of great miniatures. I just got a problem with metal miniatures these days. I've been spoilt by resin. :/ I wish I never would have bought into any of those. :/

I agree with Drazz, i was pretty happy with the models i received from the Indiegogo campaign. Although i did get pretty annoyed at Taban during the campaign.
The main thing that bothered me during the Eden IGG campaign was that they had a 100€ pledge level called 'Aftermath Special' that was originally listed as including the Eden rulebook, a single faction boxset and all of the unlocked stretch goal goodies. A few weeks into the actual campaign after a handful of the stretch goal freebies had been unlocked, Taban decided that they were just giving away too much. (Which is understandable, by that time the freebies amounted to 4 resin models and 3 small terrain pieces.) So from that point on none of the future stretch goals were included in the 'Aftermath Special' level and were only available by adding extra money to your pledge.
The big problem though was that Taban never bothered making an official announcement stating that the new stretch goal models were going to be add-on only, which managed to make the final days of the campaign an absolute mess as the majority of backers had no idea if the models were included in 'Aftermath Special' or not. Eventually someone found a single post by Taban on the French Eden forums saying they were add-ons, but by that point the complete lack of communication from Taban towards paying customers on the actual IGG site had really pissed me off.

It's a miniatures game. They're simply making a board game of it.
Of the factions, the dominatrix-like Matriarchs and the silly circus-freak Jokers are the opposite of interesting for me.
I'm kind of a technophile, so the Resistance Faction (human survivalists and machinists) and the ISC (Japanese-themed robots) are the most interesting for me.
Well hopefully they'll have learned from their IndieGoGo mistakes.
Dug through their site- they do have some interesting designs. If they stick with just the ISC mecha and the Resistance I think that would be the wisest choice. Those other factions they've got are just kind of out there.
The ISC sure does have some purdy looking mechs too.
I'm hoping the board will be a bit more substantial than the one the game originally came with.

I believe the scale will be the same although I have no idea about the Eden cards.
I also picked up a starter set (Horde), rulebook and thre other mates picked up ISC, Baraka & Jokers starters. I've enjoyed it to date and will follow this kickstarter with interest.
I hope soon, because I'm stuck at an inservice all day today with nothing better to do than listen to these stuffy old coots patter on about whatever it is they do.

Also someone posted these pledge level images over on the Eden forums, unless im mistaken that $69 option appears to be the basic game. Which if so is actually a pretty good price for the amount of content in the box, although the RoW postage costs could potentially skyrocket the price...
69 is a fair price for the amount of stuff you are currently getting.
Who knows how much is going to get tacked on if you want all the extras that will inevitably follow. I might put in for a few of the ISC models they've got, especially if they end up in plastic (like the ronin and the shogun).
I'm interested in this since I don't have a lot of post apocalyptic board games, but some of the indiegogo happenings have made me a bit hesitant.
Hopefully Taban will do good on this. We'll see how things play out. I'll be checking this out tomorrow morning if I'm not stuck dragging the kids to Japanese school.

I got an EB as well, and I'll be taking a wait and see approach as to whether I keep my pledge that high. It's a lot to commit at this point. Hopefully that 80 dollars worth of goodies is going to get me a lot of things to play with!
Well you can buy the cards and rules for the skirmish game for $10 from the 'goodies' section so for $79 you get 2 games! Eden is a great little game too.

Sounds like a cool way to get into the skirmish game as well as the Board game.
I hope they quickly start to show why the extra $50 for ISC Sensei is a better deal than the Escape Master level. Right now 1 extra figure and $20 less in credit for options does not make that $50 worth while.
Ive added extra for the book mostly due to the fact I love big hardback books full of art! And im planning on using the content of the box game to jump into the Eden skirmish game.
I think its another case of people not wanting to jump in until they see the value but the value wont be there unless people jump in!
Hopefully extra details will come out in the next few days to draw more people to the kickstarter. I guess the fish needs to see the worm on the hook before it will bite

All the Escape boxes will be upgraded to a total of 21 swarmbots (instead of the 16 originally planned) : - 7 flybots, 7 scarabots and 7 wormbots - exclusively for the kickstarter version of the box !
In addition, the pledge levels "ISC Sensei" and "Apocalypse Master" will receive a pack of nine additional swarmbots for more action in the LAB3 (and a total of 30 critters in your pledge level.)
Once unlocked, this 9 pack will be also be available as an "Escape goodie" for $ 15

The Wayland one doesn't come with the 20 cards deck (missions, profile and tactical for 2 factions) that is priced at over 10$
So basically you save 5$ + international postage cost for a 2 pounds hardbook
The terrain pieces could be a nice touch. The one on the left is giving me a Borderlands vibe. Sensei pledge is starting to look like a pretty snazzy deal!

Escape's Resistance figures might make for some good civilian stand- ins in Deadzone. Deadzone's mat will be perfect for Eden since it's supposed to be played on a 2 x 2 surface.
Plus with these latest stretch goals Escape is looking like it will have a lot of nice options to play around with. Triple win for gamers!

Im going to mix up a few bits aswell Highlord, I've got a display board coming from Secret Weapon which will be for Deadzone (although I'l probably get one of each board as their released especially now the scrapyard and Ruined City streets, which I think will fit the Eden skirmish rules)

I've also got the Ruined buildings coming from Deadzone and the new resin computer terminals from Taban. Looks like i'm going to get alot of use out of all these bits like you say for multiple games.
Oh almost forgot the assesory sprue from deadzone has some crates and street lights on so thats more added to the mix for both systems.

I'm kind of torn about Escape. The game is probably going to be good and it'll make a great addition to Deadzone, plus the scenery bits are pretty cool, but I absolutely do not like the figures that are in the base game. I think the ISC have much cooler figures that could've been included. It looks like at least one may show up eventually via stretch goals though. I think if more of the actual samurai figures were in the game or available as add-ons, I'd be more interested. Oh well, at least my brother is backing it, so I'll wind up messing with it eventually anyway. I'm sure my Enforcers will wind up having to snipe at wormbot swarms as they try to escape derelict buildings with sensitive materials.
Well the puppet master was absolutely NOT what I expected. That's a good thing.
I also see the pledge total hasn't changed a whole lot in the few days I've been gone.
Hopefully Taban will keep things progressing. Hopefully those doors will be in the next day or so, and we'll get the next Resistance member shortly after.
Its been said in the comments that if you just want addons pledge the ammount for what you want and dont worry about a pledge level. Not sure how postage will work however so best check first with a direct pm.

A new pledge level was created to allow people who want the goodies but not the Escape : the game.
For $10.00 Basic Supporter is equivalent to a minimum price for our goodies. You can then increase it up to amount of your choice and get anything you want in any quantity you like.

As promised, you'll find in that link the rules for the 1vs1 mode, in an English PDF.
This is not the final booklet, and the rules will get some fine tuning and updates before release, including the cooperative mode and the multiplayer mode.
If we beat this one, we will order a complete set of sculpted bases. LAB 03 themed !
We will swap the initial plain bases for these nicely textured ones (both for small and big Escape models).
Each Escape miniature will be based with one of these plastic bases. Diameter 25mm
I'm wondering how large that Kira is. It looks big. It looks like it has a similar body structure to the Ronin drone, which is pretty hefty compared to the human figures.
Also they've added some new resin pieces to the goodies section- A grey kitsune for the ISC and Courtney for the Resistance.
Both are resin (as opposed to their original metal releases) and will have Escape stats with them.
Taban mentioned in the comments that these could see plastic releases as future stretch goals. Those are probably pretty lofty stretch goals at this point.
I hope they can meet the ones they have currently. I really like the look of this game, but it doesn't seem like many other people do. It's still sitting at under 400 backers. I figured a game like this would have a lot of crossover appeal- established game system (via the original magazine version), established skirmish game/ miniature company/ ruleset, quality figures, nice looking scenery pieces available...
The only thing I can see keeping people back is the price I guess. Considering what some of us have spent on comparable games (myself included), the ISC pledge doesn't seem that hard to swallow, especially if it hits all its stretches.
I'll keep my fingers crossed. I hate to have to go shill around on the internet to drum up interest.
In my opinion, one mistake they have made is forcing $80 in extras for the ISC Sensei level. I have no reason to increase my pledge until I find more than $80 worth of stuff I want (and right now I'm nowhere close). And ISC Sensei really isn't getting enough extra to justify it over the Escape Master level where you could use the forced $100 in extras to get most of what is not included at that level but is included at the ISC Sensei level that makes a difference to game play. Things like the doors can be gotten a cheaper from other sources, no need pay extra for them, especially if you need 10 large and 15 small for the map as someone in the comments section has indicated.
IF they reach more of the ISC Sensei stretch goals it becomes worth it, but I am doubting their ability to get too many more at the rate they are going.
I think it would have been better to have an everything included pledge, with no funny business about extra goodies. Just the game and every included stretch goal. I think that's all people want at the end of the day. If they want other stuff, then cool, let them pay for it. With an ISC pledge I'm still debating what I would actually use that credit for. At least I can get that Kitsune.
I think Guardian Chronicles did things right- one set pledge that gets EVERYTHING. Yet that didn't do as well as I had hoped either; I thought it would have really climbed up there monetarily. It did hit nearly every single stretch they showed though.
Even Dark, Darker, Darkest has gone that route. There's LITERALLY 2 backers for the standard (read: lacking) edition, while another 1000+ people sitting at the "complete" edition that's about 30 dollars more. If you look at the stretch goals, everything is included with the complete version, while they nickel and dime the crap out of you if you want to add any of those on piecemeal to a standard game. Conclusion? Go for the deluxe version.
At this point I don't know what would bring in more fresh backers. I hope Taban can pull through and show people the value of this game. I've been wanting to play it since I saw the magazine edition!
I think some advertising would help. I don't know how much they've promoted this, but I haven't seen really any hype for this prior to it going live. Look at Deadzone, Mutant Chronicles, and Toughest Girls, they all had hype beforehand and look how much those made.

So he's a Predator? But the Yellow Oshoku is the kind of figure I've been saying should've been included from the start. This figure has a lot more style and overall coolness going for him than the fat guy or the half naked robot girl.
Yeah, a signed lithograph is worth nothing to me, though I do understand some real fans like that sort of thing. For me, it either sits at the bottom of the box or hits the recycle bin.
I guess the lithograph is something. A bonus figure would have been cooler. Extra figures would be more likely to grab a few more people.
From what it sounds like what we'd be getting at an ISC pledge would give us more than enough to field both Resistance and ISC teams in Eden as well, so that's a plus. I know most of my figures will at some point be making appearances in Deadzone, and I think just about every figure in the box will end up in my brother's Mutants and Rayguns campaign at some point or another.
I'd like to see them keep driving the momentum forward. Maybe sneak in a few more mini stretch goals, swap some things around? I don't know.
At least today we should be seeing the greens for the Puppet Master. Hopefully they put some basic figures next to it for a size comparison. Very curious as to how that thing translates in 3D.

Even if it's set in the same universe, Escape is a standalone game and you don't need at all to know or play Eden in order to fully enjoy Escape. That's the reason why we won't offer metal starters for Eden (for the people interested in playing Eden, those starters are available at Taban or in your game shop)
In order to satisfy as many backers as possible, we have already added to the goodies some resin mini because they already exist in Escape so it won't be hard to add them to Eden. Those resin sculptures are gonna be exclusive to the KS : you won't be able to purchase them later.
Hope those wormbots are in by the end of the day so we can chase after the interesting stuff.
Cool thing is the next few stretch goals all unlock multiple figures, which really will add to the value of that ISC pledge-
+7 wormbots at 75k
+9 more swarmbots on top of that
+3 puppets at 80k
+3 green youkai at 85k
So by hitting the next 3 stretches, everyone's box at ISC gets an 22 figures. Not too shabby. That's doable.
I'm going to call it too- Marvin is totally Data from the Goonies in that trenchcoat with all the little gadgets.
EDIT- So it seems the game has it the 75k stretch goal. Worm bots are in.

I enjoy collecting and framing game art, table top or video games. Would love to have it, however I am not a backer. Spent all my gaming bucks for the next month or 3 on a new drill press and a few preordered board games.
If they have pledge manager you can add items later, I may contribute.

I had been thinking of getting the Eden rules with my bonus funds, but it looks like I'll be loading up on all the exclusive resins at this point.

Wow, I actually kind of like that Resistance girl with the cybernetic arms. I think she's the first human figure I actually like.
As for the Kira, I thought kira meant something more along the lines of sparkle rather than twinkle? Either way, it makes me think his abilities have something to do with light. Like, maybe he has energy weapons embedded in his arms, or he's able to turn invisible, or maybe he's got some sort of energy shield.
I want more samurai 'bots though and less ashigaru 'bots.
I already owe you for Yog Sothoth (which I'll be sending to you after the 1st). I do like the cyborg girl, but for about the same price, I could get an Infinity or an Anima Tactics figure. Plus, I noticed that the resin figure is actually more expensive than the metal one. I think I'll pass.
What if I get one of the cyborg girls and swap you something for it?

I'll most likely be using that 80 to pick up more Resistance members anyway. I figure they'll be the ones to offer the most variety in play.
I may not get a chance to put some of the ISC machines on the table due to the luck of the draw (if I'm playing solo at least), while I would assume all the Resistance members are going to each have their own specialties which could play into how likely they are to succeed at certain scenarios.
I'm Happy to see that Youkai have been unlocked, I really wish that Taban would hurry up and unveil the Blue Futesu though...
I'm also glad too see that Joshua has finally removed his pledge, although despite his rather aggressive and annoying comments he did make a decent point about the goodies. I think Taban could help salvage this situation by offering the metal variants of existing goodie models for $10-$12, and by adding more of their existing ISC and Resistance range to the goodie list so we at least have a few more options to choose from. (I know that Taban stated that this KS campaign was focused more on expanding Escape instead of Eden, and i understand that they don't want to ruin the future sales of existing models. But unless Taban do something major to make the goodies more appealing, then this campaign could become completely overshadowed by Kaosball which finishes only 20 hours before the Escape campaign ends.)
Personally I'd love to see both the ISC and Resistance get a special $45-$50 boxset as a goodie that each includes a large robot and 2-3 smaller models. The Resistance set could have the robot Patriot along with Bruce, Chelsea and Benedict, while the ISC could include Grey Daymio and a few other models. A plus side to adding something like this is that it would allow Taban to add a small stretch goal that includes a downloadable PDF featuring Escape rules for these large Robots.
Does anyone know if Taban has said how many of the stretch goal bases are going to be included in the ISC pledge level?

It might be a good idea to change the thread title to say that there's only 48 hours left.
Unfortunaly Taban cant offer any exisiting figures in their kickstarter its against the rules for a kickstarter, hence they are offering a limited run of the figures in resin which classes as a different product.
Since they are a limited resin run rather than metal there are some extra costs incurred hence the higher cost.
It worth noting that Taban added then in the addons due to people asking for them in the comments.
Im pretty sure that they said in the comments there would be enough bases to cover each of the stretch figures.
Its been said that there will be rules released for each of the eden figures in the isc and resistance for the escape game so there will be some cross compatibility, however Taban see this as the start of a independant boardgame range similar to xwing or guardian chronicles so they wont be relieing on exisiting sculpts for future expansions.

This really seems to be rarely enforced Kickstarter rule though, the most recent Red Box Games KS (Which ended only 2 weeks ago.) managed to get away with including their entire metal miniature range of over 140 models as add-ons. Black water gulch, Darklands, judge Dredd, and Mantic have all also managed to get away with included existing models in their campaigns with no hassles from KS.
Im an Early bird ISC backer and other than the 2 'Mini Creator' models there just aren't enough goodies that really interest me that i want to spend the remaining $50 ISC credit on. The existing goodie models may also be cast in high quality resin, but the fact i can get most of them for roughly $5 cheaper in metal directly from Taban isn't exactly encouraging me to choose those models.
(Don't think im trying to bash the campaign, like everyone else backing it i really just want to see the final 48 hours of this campaign be a massive success.)

Its a shame that this campaign hasn't been more popular, because at this point i just can't see it making anywhere near the necessary 16k to unlock the Blue Fusetu in only 5 hours...
