With the IG apparently slated for next month NOW is the time to post your completely made up and fictional Imperial Guard rumors!
1. Despite over 25 years of branding and countless products called 'Imperial Guard', the name Imperial Guard will be changed to something more trademarkable, possibly a made up pseudo latin name like Astres Mili... hey wait a second!
2. We'll finally see plastic storm troopers and vet with all their weapon options, the only problem is they'll be 5 models for $50... hey wait a second!
3. The IG will get a new superheavy walker, basically a mini titan with a Strength D weapon and... HOLD IT! These are supposed to be made up rumors!
4. The Gawd-awful Catachans and dull Cadian plastics will finally be replaced by greatcoat guardsmen with a properly grimdark and gothic look. There! That's what you call a made up rumor!
5. The age of the Vendetta will finally come to an end with the introduction of a new Valkyrie variant, the Victoria. Sporting a TL Earthshaker in the nose and Deathstrike missles under each wing the Victoria will become the new flier of choice. This will be balanced by the fact that the Victoria is 5 points more than the stock Valkyrie.

GW will produce many new resin (not finecast) kits that rival all the 3rd party models, inspiring flavour, variation, player creation and new chapter like rules rto go with them, they will be in boxes of 10 for the current price.
All tanks will remain but there will be a custom kit which you can buy for some regiments to make the tank more fitting with the regiment.
There will be a 6 man box option for each regiment that will make you a command squad and one advisor or a special weapon squad.
Variaty and options will be the new big theme with the release and I will be happier and may buy something from them.

Penal legion squads are getting a buff, tanks are getting new sculpts and will no longer be ridiculously shaped.
There exists an army list that allows you to only take marbo.
CRASSUS ARMORED ASSAULT TRANSPORTS can be taken as dedicated transports for 10 points more than a chimera, that way, the massive points cost will deter people spamming the CRASSUS ARMORED ASSAULT TRANSPORT.
Elysians are getting a plastic kit.
Imperial guard are officially more effective than SOB in fluff, thanks to a wonderful bit of background by Matt Ward.
Valkyrie is going to be repackaged with a miniature mp3 player containing "Fortunate Son", "Ride of the valkyries " and "long tall sally"

The mistake of giving the Vendetta the same transport capacity as the Valkyrie is fixed.... by making it 50 instead.
New "giant walker" kit that consists of a pile of guardsmen on a MC base.
The FW debate is settled by putting a "you can use the FW variant lists" statement on the first page.... and then removing all of the other rules content from the codex.
A new flyer is added to compete with the Vendetta for the "ultimate dogfighter" role. It costs 250 points, is AV 10/10/10 with 2 HP, and has two lasguns as its weapons. It is still somehow way better than the DA flyers.
To properly represent the endless hordes of guardsmen basic infantry platoons have a point cost of "free", and at any time during the game you may buy and assemble a new box of guardsmen and add it to your army.
There is an awesome new Baneblade-size superheavy tank kit with powerful rules.... and it's finecast.

Feric Jurgen will be in the codex. Whenever the opponent tries to cast a psychic power, they lose the game.
There will be regimental tactics. Tallarns will get to Blind opponents in close combat by throwing sand in their eyes. You may reroll all failed To Wound attempts with Catachans once per game as long as you properly mimic and quote Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwartzenegger, or any of their peers. Valhallans are considered to have an additional close combat weapon in the form of an icicle.
Deathstrike missiles will become Destroyer weapons. Their points cost will be reduced. At tournaments, you may fire them at any table you wish, including Fantasy tables.
To properly reflect the crushing might of Imperial armour, Lords of War will be a 1+ choice at a 25% points discount.

Ogryn will be rebuilt into a powerhouse unit. At only 15 points a model, Ogryn Swarm suddenly becomes the Next Big Thing, pounding Tau into goo with their bare hands and ripper guns. New Ogryn models will be finecast and sold for $34.975 each.
Bad Axe Orks will not only be available as allies, but a new line of plastics will be released for these 'umanized fellas, complete with Komissar Nobs. These Orks will be armed with Imperial weapons instead of Orky ones.
A new special character is introduced in the form of a Ratling artilleryman-turned-CO. Cap O. Leon will have a tactical mastery of supporting fire like few others, despite his height.
A new Leman Russ variant, the Creed, will be introduced. It's much like the normal Leman Russ, only with Stealth and Infiltrate.

- New IG warlord table:
1- What wave was it? I lost count
The whole battlefield is covered in corpses. All terrain is Difficult for Infantry, and IG models increase their cover save by an additional point when they Go to Ground as they pretend to be one of the casualties.
2- Clerical error
The Administratum is working as usual. You have an extra infantry platoon composed of platton command squad, 2 infantry squads and a heavy weapons squad, but they have no wargear. Not even knives.
3- Commisars? Ha!
When one of your squads fails a morale check, as long as your Warlord is alive you can order an artillery strike against them. Resolve a Str 9 AP 3 indirect fire artillery barrage against the unit, placing initially the template so it covers the maximum amount of models from the unit that failed the test. Once the attack is resolved, the affected unit can reroll the Morale check.
4- They are traitors. And heretics. Really
You can shoot into units locked in melee. For each hit roll 1d6, on a 4+ it hits one model from the enemy, otherwise it hits one model from the Imperial Guard unit. Barrage weapons work normally.
5- I finally found a use for the conscripts!
Your vehicles with the Tank rule have 1 extra Hull point and have a 4+ save against grenades and Melta bombs in close combat, since their magnetic clamps don't work on flesh.
6- Wibble
If your warlord isn't modelled with his underpants on his head and two pencils stuck up his nose or is a comissar, reroll on this table. Your Warlord and his unit is automatically placed in Reserves and only comes into play on the roll of a 6 and doesn't enter the battle automatically in any turn, but can give orders to any unit in the table that has a Voxcaster while he's in Reserves and doesn't count as destroyed if he never enters the battle.

To properly represent the IG dominance in tank hordes a new unit will be added:
Leman Russ platoon: 1 command squad, 2-5 battle tank squads, 0-3 heavy tank squads.
Command squad (30 points): 4x LRBT, 1x LRBT with BS 4. May upgrade any LRBT to an exterminator (free), vanquisher (+5), demolisher (+10) or executioner (+15).
Infantry squad (50 points): 9x LRBT, 1x LRBT with a pistol and CCW. May upgrade one LRBT to an eradicator (+5), demolisher (+10) or executioner (+15). May replace two LRBTs with a Baneblade (+5) or Shadowsword (+10).
Heavy weapon squad (50 points): 3x Baneblade. May upgrade any Baneblade to a Shadowsword (+10).
Coincidentally the price of the LRBT kit will be increased to $100 each. This has nothing to do with the new IG codex.

Special Character Thunderbolt Ace in HQ. His special rules include Saturation Bombing: All Thunderbolts come with bombs for free and may be taken in Elites, all Infantry units may use Valkyries as Dedicated Transports, and you may take a Marauder as a Lords of War detachment. Bombs and Multiple Rocket Pods gain Ignores Cover. Any unit hit by multiple templates from Multiple Rocket Pods or any weapon with the Bomb rule resolves all hits from those weapons at +1S and -1 AP for each template past the first. Place d3 additional bomb templates at the beginning of each Shooting phase to represent high-level bombers. You do not lose the game for having no models on the table so long as you have some Flyers in Reserve. Flyers gain the Outflank rule, and you start rolling for Reserves on turn one instead of turn two. A Saturation Bombing detachment may not take any units with the Tank type.

All guardsmen get Instinctive Behavior: Getting eaten. When in synapse range, they run away on 1-3, or get eaten by the synapse creature on 4-6. On a six, however, the synapse creature was too greedy and chokes to death on a guardman.
When a character in the same unit as a commissar fails a leadership test, roll a d6 for both and add it to the models initiative. If the character has a higher value, he shoots the commissar first.
You can now deep-strike leman russes. If a leman russ would land on top of guardsmen, they just crush them instead of mishapping.
Commissars can now have a leman russ as a dedicated transport. They can hit enemies with their sword from the cupola.
The Imperial Guard gets an Adeptus Administratum table. At the beginning of your turn, you roll on the table. Possible results: reinforcements, moral boosts, additional wargear for your units or an Exterminatus at the hands of the Inquisition, killing both armies. High chance of the later when fighting forces of chaos.
One of the relics is a crate of bionic arms, which provides IWND and FNP to models wielding two plasma pistols.
Guardsmen can attach laser-pointers to their lasguns, twin-linking them.
Added three new orders for officers: "Sit!", "Catch!" and "Play dead!". Despite what nafka claims "Who's a good doggy?" did not make it past play-testing.
Rough riders can now pick their mount from a large collection, including, but not limited to, horses, elephants, cows, donkeys, sheep, giant centipedes, dinosaurs and sharks. Due to wording issues, you can also pick multiples. A jokaero weaponsmith may chose to ride on the back of a rough rider.
You can now pick a platoon where every model is a named characters and has a unique statline, rules and wargear. You may only pick all 150 characters (including recruits and commissars) or none at all.

Army wide special rule, Flashlight fire .
Once per game, you may turn the lights out completely and get out an official GW laser pointer, you may then flicker the light attempting to hit as many of the opponents models as possible, every model hit doesn't have to take a save as it's completely ineffective, it's just making you feel like a real life imperial guard trooper firing your lasgun!

Commissar Tank commanders give the tank they're occupying WS4 and can bail out.
Plastic Stormtrooper kits that allow you to make Stormtroopers or Kasrkins.

New flier is actually a Leman Russ variant with wings. 14/13/11, can deepstrike, zoom, hover, and uses quad punisher cannons that are str6 ap3. 45 point upgrade from the Valkyrie.
Catachans and Cadians are molded into one army, the Cadianchans. To represent their manliness and awesome since-child training, every guardsman has the stats of a space marine. All models get the special rule "Yell incoherently!", orders are automatically passed and all guardsmen are considered to have assault10 str4 ap1 lasguns.

They will totally retcon the Imperial Guard into a Call of Duty modern soldier/commando ripoff organization. They will use tacticool gear, they will have top-notch training and every one of them will be an OorahBringItOnOscarMike specops guy with all the awesome gadgets and air support and everything.
They will replace the normal guardsmen (both Cadians and Catachans) with models straight from the Battlefield 4 design studio. Each tank will be remade to be futuristic 21st century instead of WW1/WW2. They will still have zero suspension or ground leverage.
There will be unmanned drones, tracked gun robots and attack dogs. Overall army theme heavily emphasizes the use of these support option instead of actual soldiers. We want out boys back home in one piece after all!
Commissars lose Summary Execution and all reference of shooting their own men will be removed from their fluff.
Gameplay-wise the army will be about fielding only a handful of kitted-out super-elite guardsmen and rely on support elements to defeat the enemy.
Also, to represent the "bullet swallowing" of CoD, every guardsmen will have 3 wounds and It Will Not Die (2+).

If at the start of any phase a unit contains more guardsmen than pet cats the unit must test for What Happened to Fluffy!
What Happened to Fluffy!
The non cat model with the lowest leadership must make a morale check, if this is failed roll on the table below. Commisars may not be used to reroll this, they love Fluffy too.
1) Remove the unit as a casualty, they all run off to protect the remaining cats.
2) Remove all none officers as casualties. They have been given a personal day to mourn. All officers remain to shepherd the cats.
3) The entire unit gains Stupidity as they are awestruck by the loss of Fluffy
4) Nothing Happens
5) The entire unit gains Hatred for none cat units
6) Fluffy was the best of us, there is no reason to live any more. Remove all cats, they are killed to release them from the anguish. All guardsmen drop all ranged weapons and gain +1A, Feel No Pain, Rending, Fearless, Furious Charge, Adamantium Will and Fleet special rules.
Oh. My. God. You almost killed me, I was eating noodles and inhaled some because of laughter...seriously, I saw spots for awhile.
This wins the thread, period.

Orgyns can now use the dead corpse of a fellow guardsman as a club
All Lasguns are replaced with banana's
The new imperial guard knight will be a bunch of imperial guard doing their best cheerleader style pyramid.
GW stores will ask for your list when your purchase your models you will be chargerd £1 per point. It wont matter if your models are exactly the same as a lower costed list you will have to pay real money for extra wargear.

Fast Attack will get a new sqaudron of medium tanks, 1-3 per squad, called the "Ildamat".
Armor 12/12/10, armed with a hull-mounted Heavy Bolter and a turreted Autocanon for the reasonable cost of 60 pts.
No one will care as it gets overshadowed by far more powerful broken models, leaving it to languish on shelves for months, untouched and unloved.
Forever alone.

That's very true, but you don't get side 12 armour (something I'd happily trade Transport Capacity for). And Squadroning them. Being able to add more cheap AV12 to a mech list without having to by more vets would be cool. Basically, they'd be the long-range equivalent of a Hellhound, maybe with a Lascannon option as a Devil Dog equivalent.
So yeah, it's almost doable, but there are a few tricks that would be nice to have.

Knight Titans will not be in the codex. The "Big sized vehicle" is made up. In fact, there will be a total of one new unit.. New kits include the Ogryns and Veterans/Stormtroopers and a Hydra + Variant (new unit) that has a Haywire effect. There is no new Clamshell, and the limited edition cover will have a Steel Legion soldier, duping everyone who doesn't realize there are no new Greatcoat models.
D-Weapons still do not make it into the game. Vendettas are priced into overshadowed mediocrity in the FA slot once people realize how broken the Hydra variant is. Leman Russ become a slightly improved unit.

Plastic kits for each of the "flavored" IG armies (Mordian, Tallarn, Valhalla, etc)..
IG will get revised Elite choices that are actually better than existing Troops, Fast Attack, or Heavy choices, requiring players to actually drop some other units to take advantage of the new OPness of the Elite section. Sadly, Stormtroopers still won't be as good as meltavets.
The Leman Russ tank will be able to shoot all of its weapons at normal BS and normal scatter on ordnance if it stands still, all at normal BS and ordnance at double scatter if it moves, and all weapons at BS1 and triple scatter for ordnance if it has been destroyed.

New Orders from CCS: Ticklefight - Guard units without power weapons, or meltabombs engaging in melee with any unit may immediately be removed as a casualty... saving you a considerable amount of time.
Chimera's purchased by Veterans will have 15 point upgrade "Sweet Ride Dude", Chimera is then considred open topped for assault purposes only.

Just Lmfao dude.. just made my day..
Oh oh. Rough riders can throw their lances which have demo charge upgrades on their pointy edge. New vendetta variant with three twin-l multi meltas.

You know I could actually see them doing this, except it would mean GW actually pays attentions to trends and the outside world in general.
Lol'd at the bit about the tanks.

- It will all be about foot guard and conscripts and mechanized armies will be heavily nerfed.
- Speaking of conscripts, they will be cheaper and extremely cost effective, and have different wargear from guardsmen requiring you to buy the new conscript kit, 10 men for $40 US.
- There will be an awesome veterans/storm troopers kit and all of us long time guard players will be sucked in by its awesomeness.
- Vendettas will be 2HP and very expensive.

Baneblades are now Elites and come in squadrons of 1-3. They also count as Jump Infantry.
Veterans become an Elites choice again. A new kit is released for them, which includes 9 of the ten models you need. In fact, all squads are repackaged to come in boxes of 9, forcing you to buy another box to make up the numbers.

There are now male guard rules.
Before shooting, roll a D6:
1: The men's inner insecurity manifests as a compulsive need to prove their masculinity. The unit may not shoot and every model in it immediately makes a single close combat attack against their own squad, as the urges to prove just how manly and buff they are to their mates becomes too great. The squad is then immediately Pinned as they collapse in a pile, exhausted.
2: The men halt and pull up mirrors, admiring their own biceps and scarred features before moving on. All enemy units gain Hatred against the squad (The enemy thinks this looks ridiculous and are unimpressed to say the least) but they are otherwise unaffected.
3-5: The men contain their urges... For now. Lolnope. The testosterone overflows and the men decide they won't take orders from the boss any more. The squad (Minus the attacked model) immediately makes their full amount of attacks with their best weapon against the squad's independent character (If there is one) or character (If no indep is present). The attacked model attacks back in a similar manner. If both the squad or the attacked model survive, the squad is now Pinned and must repeat this result next turn. If either side is wiped out, the unit may then act as normal, though they gain Rage.
6: The squad's desire to go out with a HEROIC SACRIFICE overwhelms them. Every model immediately makes a Demolition Charge attack, centred over himself. If any enemy models are killed by this attack, you gain a Victory Point.
Fair should be fair.
(This was meant as a counterjoke! If any jimmies get rustled, I'll remove it, dw.)

Female Guardsman:
When you read the codex roll a D6. On a +1 you may not take this unit. Our Citadel Fineresearch has shown that our target demographic think girls are "icky" and "full of cooties". So, as to not make our prime hobbyist feel excluded, we will exclude half the population from our products. You have forfeited your right to complain on blogging sites about this when you broke the seal at the start of this codex.

Commissar-Sentinels are a totally different thing.
Though they do come equipped with a forward-arc heavy bolter, heavy flamer or lascannon, the Commissar-Sentinel considers dispensation of ammunition from this issued weapon during the execution of its duties to be a waste of the Emperor's bullets. Those Guardsmen under its command found guilty of the heresy of cowardice are simply stamped on by the Sentinel.
They are, for this reason, often called "Commissar Stampy" or "Lord Commissar Stampy".
Edited because I, apparently, cannot spell today.

The Codex will allow for varied forces thanks to flexible rules that allow you to emulate any type of Guard army, from stealthy Catachans to hardcore waves of Krieg infantry to sky-falling Elysians.
As a result of this colourful and flavourful Codex no supplements will be produced, as they would be redundant in the face of such overwhelming diversity.

Carapace armor now gives a 2+ armor save and 5+ invulnerable, relentless, and units entirely in carapace armor gain deep strike. Models in carapace lose the ability to make a sweeping advance, but how often do IG get to do that anyway. Naturally points costs will change a bit to reflect the new power level.

- Every famous IG planet (Catachan, Cadian etc.) has their own individual rule sets (bonuses and weaknesses). Also there's a table for making your own rules for your very own custom regiment!
- Rules for regimental types are more strict. Any player that doesn't only employ units belonging to their regiment (for example: only armor for armor regiment, only siege weapons for siege regiment or only infantry for infantry regiment) have to be yelled at by other IG-players and told to be extremely un-fluffy. Every note of trading units from regiment to regiment is removed from the codex.
Equipment:
- Heavy support teams can now use Heavy stubbers...
- "Every" single unit may buy night-goggles, which will ignore the night fighting rules for additional 10 point cost (5 for veterans and 2 for rattlings and storm troopers). Ogryns cannot use them.
- Lasgun is now treated to be STR 2 but every hit of 6 is considered to cause blind to enemy (saves allowed but must be taken against every hit separately.
- Bayonet! Every unit that visually has bayonet on their lasguns are count to have rending rule.
- Original Leman Russ Battle-Cannon is no longer considered as ordnance and counts to be heavy instead.
- Rough Riders may change their Hunting Lance to Lasgun.
- Every Sergeant and commander may change their pistol and CCW into new innovation: Twin-Linked Lasgun.
Models:
- Penal legionaries now have Marbo's stats (but retain their own special skills and equipment).
- There are new plastic female Cadians that actually looks decent and not too sexist.
- There will be Cadian plastic rough riders, as well as two other type of plastic rough riders that they come up by whim. Rough Riders will now be Elites instead of FA.
- There will be plastic Storm Troopers.
- Plastic Comissars arrives to battlefields as well.
New Units:
- New FA to replace the hole left by Rough Riders will be replaced by Smooth Riders. These are nothing more than Guardsmen on Bikes (normal bike bonuses), armed with twin-linked Lasguns.
- New Elite unit appears which is so successful that no one even wants to use those new plastic Storm Troopers or Rough Riders. Gene-Manipulated Infantry (because I personally like Bio-engineering over cyborgs!). They can have ridiculous bonuses with minuscule point cost: Enchanted leg muscles (allows unit to jump to second floor by only using on inch of movement (instead of 3)), enchanted bone marrow (gain feel no pain rule), reactive eyes (hits with over-watch on roll of 5+), enchanted willpower (fiddling with brain (deny the witch is successful with roll of one less)) and many many more.
- New Heavy Support unit: Tank Destroyer that is not made by Forgeworld! Main weapon same than in Forgeworld model (Ripoff!). New special rules:
*Camper: When holding still for over one turn BS is increased by one and camo-cloak suddenly has +1 additional bonus to it's effect. Pivoting on spot does not count as moving. Any leadership rolls forced to be made by this model are suffering -1 penalty due to constant yelling from his team-mates.
*Always hiding: This unit -must- buy a camo-cloak ad additional cost of 15 points. Any player that tries to remove the additional point cost from their army list is immediately removed from play.

Oooh! Ofc! New unit: looters! They can be armed by any other army's basic weapon (boltgun, shoota, pulse rifle), because honestly, -any- weapon is better than flashlight. Ten man veteran squad, with lower cost and no special weapons. Whole unit must be armed with same weapon.

Theres a new tank which is taking the place of the Leman Russ since the Imperium is finally rising in technology levels again(according to new fluff in the codex). AV 14, 14, 12. Comes with a main cannon with two ammo types, high explosive which is equal in damage and values to the current battle cannon and a new armor piercing round which is Str 9, ordinance, no blast. Tank is a Fast vehicle. Not bad for 200 points. Also has the option of upgrading its turret heavy stubber to an autocannon with skyfire rules.

New official fluff, the IG won a battle against *random enemy* with less than 90% casualties!
New heavy support choice. The Guardian.
If anybody makes an attack at allied unit within 12'' with weapon not-needing LOS, Guardian engages it's repulsion force field, and on 3+ it repulses the shot back at the attacker, using scatter at BS1.
New upgrade for guardsmen.
Mirror shield. When fíghting against energy weapon with S4 and less, you get 4+ invuln safe and making BS1 attack at the attacker wth same weapon as he shot at you.
New super-heavy vehicle, the Chrono engine.
Chrono blaster uses Heavy 1, Large blast template against non-vehicle targets and Heavy 1 against vehicles.
Resolve at BS2, if unit is hit:
1: Nothing happens
2: Slowed timeflow - Unit uses 1d3 for movement to end of it's turn
3: Stopped timeflow - Unit can't perform any kind of action.
4: Reverse - If unit moved, place it at place whete it has been previous turn. If not moved, nothing happens.
5: Bending time-space - You can control movement of enemy's unit for one turn. You can't make any kind of attack.
6: Erased from timeflow - Unit removed as casualties. No saves.

A new rule will be added to Infantry Squads.
“No you go first.”
Anytime a unit is ordered to charge they must take a leadership test. If they fail the squad fights itself. After resolving conflict the Character with the highest leadership is pushed out front before overwatch commences. Thanks to the disorganized charge the charge distance is halved and they suffer a second round of overwatch fire.

Creed/Marbo/Yarrick/Stracken/Schaeffer/Solar Macharius/Nork Deddog/Mogul Kamir/Stumper Muckstart destroyed an Avatar of Khaine in single combat. Yes, all of them. Together with the Avatars killed by unnamed individuals in the Sentiknight, Leman Russ, and Conscript entries the IG should have a higher Avatar kill count than everyone else's fluff put together.
You know how vehicle kits come with pistol arms for the crewman? It's going to be a real upgrade. 5pts, lets you shoot a laspistol from the turret.
You can upgrade a single Leman Russ tank in your army with a new special character commissar who causes it to use the chariot rules.
There's going to be two new units that use the Artillery unit type, one Heavy Support and the other Elite.
Wow, they decided to hand out Skyfire like candy in this book.
The codex includes rules for some new IG-only fortifications, including one that can be moved during the battle.

LR tanks can now be taken as infantry. in squads of 10 and all are scoring.
LR tanks if they have an infantry model in the coupala they can engage in melee with 1 low ST attack and 1 St 10 attack (using the tank itself as a melee weapon).
Baneblades can be taken as heavy support in squadrons of 3.
If you take 3 baneblade squadrons you get the "I have bigger tanks then you, your army is invalid" rule where you auto win by having bigger tanks, therefore the enemies argument is invalid.
Stormtroopers now come in platoons with st 4 ap 3 24 inch range hotshot lasguns. with really low points value.
sentinels now can melee with a ST 10 kick. its a D st melee attack if it attacks the rear of any model (Kicking their Butt)
Vendettas can now transport light armor (sentinals, chimeras, hellhounds, medusas etc).
Marbo has a new ability. Norris Sneeze. Marbo uses a hellstorm template with ST D ap 1. You cannot save in any manner from the Norris Sneeze, and there is no "getting back up" rules either for those hit by the Norris Sneeze.

Every IG unit can once a game call "Spirit of Gaunt". In that case, enemy cant use any saves, wounded models are ID and vehicles lose all hull points and explode. At the end of turn, kill one character in unit that used Spirit of Gaunt or nearest character if not apllicable.

New Warlord Trait - "Why haven't we thought of this before?!" The IG mobilize several miles away from the enemy position, and start bombarding them with mass artillery. Do not deploy your army. This trait ignores the "must have an army on the field" rule. When the game starts, center the large blast template over each enemy unit. This scatters 2D6 inches, and it resolved at S8AP3. This happens both in both player turns, in all game turns.

The codex contains just 1 basic unit: the guardsman; anything else is outsourced to supplements. We get a light tank supplement, medium tank supplement , heavy tank supplement, super heavy tank supplement, a ab-human supplement, a pretty uniforms in space supplement, a desert dwellers in space supplement, a john rambo supplement, a space russians in space supplement, a heavy weapon team supplement, a artillery supplement and a self-propelled artillery supplement, a ground attack craft supplement and a bomber supplement, a AA gun supplement and a missile tank supplement, a cavalry in space supplement and a penal units supplement, a commissariat supplement and a priest supplement, a sancioned psyker supplement and a stormtrooper supplement, a sentinel supplement and a chimerae supplement, a tank hunter supplement and a big fething rocket on tracks supplement, a sniper supplement and a special weapons supplement, a drop them off of skimmers supplement and a movie stars supplement, a medicae supplement and a resupply suppllement; And finally an officer korps supplement. Plus a Solar Macharius supplement. Did I miss any ?
Additionally there are one click bundles of :
- infantry regiment
- artillery regiment
- mobile infantry regiment
- armored regiment
- air cav regiment
- cavarly regiment
- abhuman regiment
- IN ground support squadron
- a famous officers of the Guard collection
- a mechanicum detachment ( new ARV kit, engineseers, servitors )
- a munitorum detachment ( new Imperial truck kit, lots of ammo crates, fuel drums, etc )
- a Imperial mega fortress
- a ' 1 km wall of martyrs'
- a whole sector of an imperial city
Haven't heard much about rules. One small bit a freind of a freind who has friends said was like: the space soldiers of the Emporer may dig in wherever they please, IG gets a citadel fine-entrenchment - tool so the IG player may create foxholes in gaming tables instantly.

The release of the IG Codex will feature a special ally arrangement with the Sisters of Battle, allowing the Guard allied units to share Sisters prayers as long as Preachers are scattered around the units. A Sister may be added to a company command squad in a manner similar to a Commisar.
These alterations will be accompanied by the release of plastic Sisters models, with a basic ten figure box costing $30 and having enough spare parts for a unit leader, several special and heavy weapon options, plus neat accessories like prayer seals, grails, and so on.

This means you can field as many guardsmen as you want at a cost of 2pt per guardsmen. For every 5 guardsmen you have, you get a special weapon, and for every 100 guardsmen you have you can take a medic!
All this in just a single troop choice!

New Imperial Guard Super-Heavy Flyer: Dropship.
This exciting new 348 piece model kit makes one Imperial Dropship. The Imperial Dropship allows you to deploy your entire Imperial Guard army via Deep Strike, without any risk of scatter. The Dropship can deploy on any turn of the game, and is not restricted by any rules regarding minimum deployments. The Imperial Dropship comes with a new 4' round base, which will be an exciting opportunity for eager modelers. Any enemy models under the Dropship's base when it deep strikes are removed as casualties. The Imperial Dropship is armor 14/14/14, and has 43 hull points. The Imperial Dropship fills the fortifications slot for any Imperial Guard army.
In next week's White Dwarf, Mat Ward wins a nail-biter of a battle report vs. Adam Troke's Chaos Space Marines through the unexpected and canny tactic of deploying his Drop Ship on turn 6 of the game over the objectives.
Also available, the new 1 Liter size of Citadel Thin Plastic Cement, only $250 with free shipping! (excludes Canada), as well as the new 5 lb. bag of Citadel modeling sand (only $100 for a limited time!)

This might actually be true, I heard that they are lowering points costs on the models. Therefore, you will need to buy MORE models to make an army... It is something like a 25% pt reduction on avg....
Also, in the same regards, a unit that was 1-3 is now 1-5, for example....
This happened several years back if you remember....

I've heard they were going to introduce the new Imperial Navy units. Starting with the Dauntless light cruiser class super-super-super-super heavy flyer, a 40 meter long model supplied with 200 pounds of spikes and extra skulls in case you want to build the Chaos version, but this also sound plausible.

For every 10 Conscripts, now only D6+3 of them actually get issued Lasguns! The rest are unlucky saps given only a single Lasgun pack.
If an Imperial Guard Infantry Squad takes 25% casualties, the rest of the unit gains a 5+ cover save if they stay still in the following movement phase. They use the corpses of their fellow Guardsmen as cover.

Two new exciting Forge-a-narritiveable tanks will be introduced! However, one tank will only be available for a limited time only so act quick! To simulate the uncertainties of war we will not tell you which of these are the ones that will run out so you better buy both!
The first is the Leman Russ Persecutor. The Leman Russ Persecutor is long lost variant of the standard Leman Russ chassis that is equipped with the impressive Persecutor gatling launcher. Each shell contains a rare explosive compound that burrows itself into the ground and explodes, turning the very earth into plasma in a brilliant display of Imperial technological might. In addition to the launcher the Persecutor features reinforced armor to protect such a rare weapon. The stats are as follows:
Leman Russ Persecutor
AV: 15/14/14
Wargear:
Persecutor Gatling Launcher
S: 10
AP: 2
Heavy 8, Small Blast, 72"
Instant Death, Ignores Cover
Heavy Bolter
The next tank is so exciting that we couldn't keep it all in one kit! However, for a limited time only, we are offering a 1-click bundle so that you can field your very own Siegebreaker Assault Tank. The Siegebreaker is a dedicated siege tank that can lay siege to besieged fortifications. With it's powerful main gun and heavily reinforced armor there is few buildings that can stop it's assault.
Siegebreaker Assault Tank
AV: 15/14/14
Wargear:
Siegebreaker siege gun
S: 10
AP: 1
Ordnance, Large Blast, 24"

At current guard point costs if you'd only need to take three infantry squads for them to start to become free. Though, I disagree that this would ever be put into a codex. They'd of course put it in a supplement and charge you what the codex costs for it.

You the IG codex comes out. You get one, seems nice, balanced, you read it and you figure out how the IG is going to play as you make up your own list for your non- IG army for your game against you friend's.
You get to the game and deploy your armies when suddenly you realize something's wrong- there's way too many models on your opponent's side of the board including 3 baneblades, and from the way the guy's been talking everything's way more powerful than it should be.
Feeling cheated you demand to see your friend's codex and he obliges. You read and slowly realize that he's right, this is nothing like the codex you read last night.
How could this be? What could've happened?
It must've taken a tactical genius to...

That one's a heartbreaker. :(

GW has decided to throw a bone to the gaming community that's over the age of "Girls have cooties" and introduce the new Sarmatia Oriopatans plastic sets. Consisting of a ten-woman guard sprue, a 10-woman heavy weapon sprue, and a five-woman command sprue, each is chock full of options that range from special weapons to medikits to voxcasters to command bits, with the command sprue even including a new Commisar option. Of particular note is that each sprue comes with a wide variety of heads, including twice as many as needed to allow for diverse customization. That one features a classic Sisters f Battle hairstyle could lead legitimacy to further rumors of a plastic Sisters set to follow later this year.

Sentinels will be replaced with a slightly larger two seat version that looks even more like something from Starwars... It'll be new so it won't suck as much. That unfortunately won't matter since the close combat variant is a must take... Too bad it looks terrible.
Roughriders will get mechanical horses! But their rules are the same!-WTF?!!?

The doctrine system is back!
You buy generic IG but add customizable skills and wargear to them to better represent their unique backgrounds.
After testing the system in nearly 3 games GW has ironed out all the problems!
For example you can turn your IG into Deathworld Vets by buying Infiltrate (3 points/model), Knife Fighters/+1 WS (3pts) and stealth (3 points).
Anyone who points out that you're now paying more points for an IG than for a Marine is a WAAC player and will be ignored.
Thanks to this system Battle Sisters will be folded into the IG by taking the doctirines: Power Armor (5pts), Bolters (5pts), Steadfast Faith (5pts) and Veteran/+1 BS (5 pts). The fact they now cost more than terminators is fair and balanced since SoB are supposed to be rare in an IG army.
