I've been playing World of Tanks (WoT) on Xbox 360 since the open beta last November and am completely hooked on this terrific tactical game. World of Tanks is a 15 tank per team single elimination (i.e., no respawning) tactical shooter that covers the period of tank development from roughly 1925 to 1952. Many aspects of the tank object modeling in the game are realistic, for example, front armor is better than side or rear armor, sloped armor is better than flat, and tanks have weak points like turret rings and ports, while other aspects of the game are simply video game mechanics to make the game both playable and enjoyable as a video game. Unrealistic game mechanics include things like repairs to immobilized tracks after a few seconds during battle and the the spotting and detection game protocols.
The game is free to play so as is normal for most free-to-play games the creators hope to make money on it through modest transactions for game upgrades and other items like premium tanks, additional garage space for more tanks, etc. Many of you are already playing this game and since it's free to play I encourage anyone who hasn't tried it yet to give it a go and see if you like it. If you do try it I think you'll find plenty of people on your Xbox friends list with whom to play it. Platoons of up to three friends may enter battle together on a team and work together in game, which is a highly enjoyable aspect of the game. World of Tanks is also a PC game for those who prefer to try it out there. The PC version has been running longer and has far more content than the Xbox 360 version.
If you'd like to learn more about World of Tanks specifically on Xbox 360 visit http://worldoftanksxbox360edition.com. At that website you can also look at your own game statistics and those of anyone else playing the game if you know their gamer tag.
I've been playing WoT both alone and with friends and have developed what I think is a pretty good meta-game at this point, analyzing what tanks are in each game at the start and adjusting my own tactics accordingly based on that information. Having platoon mates to rely on to execute tactical manoeuvres successfully in small groups definitely makes the game more fun and increases chances of winning.
So far I've managed to get my kill-to-death (k/d) ratio up to about 2.45 as of this writing. When I realized recently that it was already nearly 2.0 I quickly began actively working on raising it even higher. Working to achieve certain statistics and medals in WoT can become just as addictive as the game itself. There are dozens of medals to be earned, some of them much more difficult than others. It's certainly a fun aspect of the game trying to earn specific medals, many of which require a bit (or a lot) of luck as well as skill in order to achieve. There are even a few that can only be earned by being in a platoon, like Crucial Contribution and Brothers In Arms.
I recently had one of my best games ever of WoT. I was so excited about it I've been sharing the tale of it with fellow gamer friends. It definitely was not something that happens too often. A few nights ago I was in a game with my T14 tier V heavy tank on the map called, Cliff. There are usually two main fights on this map, one on a hill and one in a low area along a long narrow dirt road connecting the two team bases. The fight on the road usually starts with long range sniping and progresses from there as one team loses more tanks. Since tier V was the high tier in the game and I had a tier V heavy I decided to go to what is usually a close up brawl on the hill knowing my tank should be up to the challenge in this particular game.
When I rounded the hill I noticed two things. First, there were no enemy tanks there protecting that flank. Second, I looked up at the score and noticed my team was being destroyed as they were already down by a significant number of kills and losing more fast. I quickly decided on a risky gambit. Since I had no one to immediately stop me I'd race down the hill to the enemy base and see if I could ambush their artillery, tank destroyers and other vehicles in the rear of their lines.
As I began my race to the enemy base I noticed that a small light tank higher on the hill behind me showing on the game's mini-map began following me. Being light and fast he caught up to me easily and quickly began shooting my tank's relatively thin rear armor. To my surprise, my hit points did not diminish. Luck was with me as he did not have a powerful enough gun to penetrate even my rear armor or do any significant damage when he occasionally did. So I ignored him and continued racing to their base with him shooting me in the rear constantly as I did so.
When I got to the enemy base I proceeded to destroy the foes with the biggest guns and weakest armor first to take those guns out of the battle as quickly as possible. Even inferior foes can often destroy a much mightier tank easily if they are all shooting it at once from different directions hitting vulnerable side and rear armor so it's best to cut down on the enemy's numbers with alacrity. Some of the weakest armored vehicles in the game have some of deadliest cannons, like Wolverine tank destroyers and artillery. I destroyed the artillery first, then immediately turned on the tank destroyers. I began taking some damage, but thanks to my heavy armor, rapid manoeuvring and well placed shots I was able to take out every single enemy vehicle quickly enough to avoid lethal damage even though there were several of them firing at me at once. When I'd destroyed every other enemy vehicle in the immediate area I turned my turret to face the poor little light tank that had been desperately trying to stop me since I began this expedition near the start of the game and destroyed him too.
Now that there were no longer any enemy vehicles firing at me or immediately visible I was finally able to look at the game statistics and take stock of how it was going overall. I had killed 8 tanks and the enemy had destroyed 9. There was only one enemy tank left and he was far down the dirt road near which I was now sitting. I couldn't believe he was still there because he was near my team's base and my remaining five team mates down that way now only had to deal with the one tank. Nevertheless, he was still running around down there causing problems when I used the game's aiming view to get a close up look at him, so I quickly dispatched him too with a carefully aimed long range shot.
I got 4 medals for the game. Though I've had many 6 or 7 kill games at tier V and higher it was my first ever Radley-Walters's medal for destroying 8 or 9 tanks in a game with a tier V or higher tank. My highest kill count ever in a game was 11, but that was with a tier II tank destroyer. I received the Top Gun medal for having the highest score with 6 or more kills. I have 43 Top Gun medals as of this writing. I also received the Pascucci Medal for destroying three SPGs (self-propelled guns, artillery) in a game and the Steel Wall medal for receiving a potential 1,000 points of damage via at least 11 hits and surviving the game.
The enemy killed 9 members of my team before I wiped them out. I had wreaked lone tank for a tank vengeance!
I've been all the way to tier X during the beta testing, but didn't enjoy the game that much past tier VI. I still think tiers II through VI are the best, most exciting battles.
To those of you reading this who have already played this game and maybe even played it with me I say, thanks! If you haven't tried it yet I say, what are you waiting for?
I too am thoroughly enjoying it. I have noticed that it doesn't have as much stuff as the computer version though. Only five maps and three countries and England doesn't have artillery or light tanks. Perhaps they'll release more at a later date.
I am a little annoyed at how much people hang back and snipe. I keep ending up destroyed immediately trying to spot the enemy.

People hanging back at crucial moments you need them to move up is always a problem. I've played some games where my platoon mass assaulted right at the beginning in situations we knew it could work and with decent team mates jumping in we won the game in just 2 to 3 minutes. At other times team mates do nothing to take advantage of the mass spotting and confusion of the enemy and it's sadly a wasted effort.
Yes, the PC version has a lot more content than Xbox 360.
Out of curiosity, which maps does it have? Or are they new maps compared to the PC version
The maps are the same or in some cases are modified versions of the same ones from PC.
Map names for Xbox 360: - Cliff - Mines - Malinovka - Sand River - Westfield - Province - Mountain Pass - Wide Park (I've been told it's called Town on PC)
Malinovka, Sand River, Westfield, Cliff, Wide Park, mines and province. Which I guess isn't so bad, but compared to the computer version, it's a bit short.
Certain maps also are only for certain battle scenarios or tiers. Province is only low tiers 1 to 3. Assault scenarios only appear on Malinovka and Sand River and are for middle to high tier tanks. Wide Park is for tiers 4 to 10.

Province is a shame because i liked that map, but all my tanks are tier V.

Province is a very small map with narrow winding paths, so it seems it was designed just for lower tier battles. It is a fun map.
I keep a tier II and a tier III tank around because they are really fun to play with. The M2 Medium and the T18 Tank Destroyer both are really powerful at their tier when fully upgraded with howitzers. The T18 has better armor than most tier II vehicles including the tanks and it's tier IV howitzer tears everything apart. I love playing with it in rotation with my higher tier vehicles. Virtually no shots bounce at that level, it's all about skill and cunning and I can rack up huge kill counts.
WoT Xbox 360 has announced that they will be adding more tanks this coming week on Monday and Wednesday. Check it out at https://www.facebook.com/WoTXbox
Tier II is less about luck than higher tiers because (mostly) everything can kill everything. There's less bad luck about running into something one simply cannot kill than at higher tiers because nearly all the vehicles at that level can damage each other.
Province is a shame because i liked that map, but all my tanks are tier V.
Duplicate theard but anyway...
The reason why Province was reduced to tier III and below is because it is a tiny sniper map. High teir tanks have view ranges larger than the map itself and its good fields of fire made it into a camping nightmare. I played it when it was on the standard map rotation and it was horrible (but still more fun than Dragon ridge....). Its not beyond the bounds of possibility that it will be reworked though, Wargaming have a tendency of dropping maps, redesigning them and then putting them back in the game.

I like the T18 It is a little bit on the strong side though, it is basically a tier 3 with less HPs, its also one of the few tanks that I don't use a derp gun with given how nasty the 2 pounder is.
Thats not to say that most people who drive one have a clue and its the player and not the tank that makes the difference (usually).
I really enjoyed it when I played, but I let my Xbox Live run out a couple of months ago and I'm not in a real hurry to get back in.
What have they added since the game came out of beta? I know I have several premium tanks unlocked from what I did in the beta so the grind shouldn't be *too* bad.

Premium tanks don't help your grind unless you are willing to spend gold to unlock the XP right?

They get you silver and 5% of the XP goes to free XP automatically right?
It aint much but since I don't care for any tanks higher than the Tiger I and the Panther I'm not too worried about grinding past that, and the Premium tanks worked well for grinding anything up to Tier 6 at least as far as I was concerned. I'm not too worried about getting past that. playing tier 8 and higher was a snore fest.

Premium tanks make more credits than standard tanks (and their repairs are supposedly cheaper as well), so in that regard they can ease your grind, they are also a good way to train crew due to their enhanced experiece gains. I have a few premium tanks (all of which I received through events or as rewards) and I rarely drive any of them.

Just an FYI....according to the intro screen messages, you don't need an xbl gold account to play but only to buy in game gold currency. This is a 180 from the info given out over the past 6 months of beta. They recently added a half dozen brit lights and the easy 8 sherman medium T6 that weren't in the beta. They also have some sort of promotion to add another 4 maps starting next week from an email they sent.
And to answer the OP question, I'm having a blast playing light tanks and frequently outscoring mediums and heavies in damage with my Luchs. I did the other tracks during the beta but I'm definitely enjoying the scrappy do tanks much more. It is absolutely incorrect that lights should just kamikazee cannon ball run at the beginning of the match.

Huh, I'll have to give it a try and see if my Silver account will let me play. I hope it works, the controls for the PC are atrocious so I can only really play this game on the 360.

I hope it works as well. My xbl is expiring in a week or two and if the 360 version of Titanfall isn't great then I don't plan on renewing my membership.
warboss wrote: It is absolutely incorrect that lights should just kamikazee cannon ball run at the beginning of the match.
I agree. Anyone recommending that should be wacked on the head with a BL-10.
You haven't lived till you've been in a tier 4 max game in a Luchs and gone full slow at the enemy.
Nothing is as hilarious as drifting around a corner, "one shotting" a helpless tier 3, and watching the rest of the tanks panic and try to escape.
Plus, the Luchs is so fast and its gun has decent penetration, you can hunt tanks up to Tier 7 in it if you learn weak points. I memorized where the gas tank was on enemy tanks, and would just unload on it, catch the tank on fire, then circle it like a madman till I reloaded. That tank can really ruin someone's day if you knew how to use it.
I realize I probably only did so well in it because most 360 players were scrubs that didn't know better, but the Luchs is probably my favorite tank, with the Tiger I being a close second in all of its hilariously awful/amazing glory.
I think my current favourite is the PzIc. Extremely fast, good frontal armour (ish) and a hilarious gun. Its low enough tier that it doesn't suffer the usual light tank problem of flailing ineffctually against much higher tier tanks (the highest it goes is 5 and there are usually some easy prey to be had even in these games).
Playing against on tier opponents is great fun as you can kill just about anything, at least anything that doesn't have decent armour, in about half a belt. Its also a suprisingly effective rammer.
I got 8 kills in mine yesterday.......and my team only managed a draw.
I love rolling around the corner into a 1c when I'm in my AT2. I love being able to just ignore someone completely and fire over their heads, knowing that even if they get into my rear they can't hurt me ha.
I fething hate those things - far too overpowered.
There's a reason I call them 'winwagens', and it's usually that the presence of one on the enemy team spells disaster for your own team, unless the driver is mentally handicapped. Two of them on a team, working in conjunction with one another, will win a match on their own in under 5 mins. They annihilate anything T2 or T3 regardless of armour, and can blow away T4-5 TDs, Arty, and light tanks, as well as the rears of some bigger ones.
They can reliably bounce shots, are stupid-fast... they completely suck the fun out of playing early tier. If you see a I C coming at you then you might as well just accept your death there and then.
I fething hate those things - far too overpowered.
I don't think that they are really. Yes they shred T2s (and British T3s) but their armour isn't all that good, its reasonable from the front and paper everywhere else. They also only work from very close ranges against all but the weakest armour and when you get into close range you have to expose your weak side armour. Speed tanking doesn't work as well as it could either due to the turret traverse being slower than the tank's turning circle.
T4s are very difficult to kill unless its arty or TDs and it usually takes at least 2 belts (with their long reload times) to kill meds. If i was going to spend 40k credits or so and get gold ammo then I could probably shred T4s but then its gold ammo. In an average game I probably hit with 80% of my shots and bounce 40-50% of those that do hit. A belt of 40 rounds with 33mm average penetration and 8 damage isn't all that scary.
Its certainly a good tank, by far my favourite machine gun tank, but thats mostly due to its speed as well as having enough armour to bounce nearly all autocannon shots from the front. There are some T3s that it simply can't deal with, the French mediums and Stuarts IIIs cause me quite a lot of problems to the extent that I simply avoid them.. T4 mediums, never mind heavies are nearly impossible from the front and even the side can be difficult due to their comparatively large HP pool.
They don't bother me much when I face them in my other T2/3s, although as my other tanks at this level are all premiums they have enough problems
They shred pretty much all T3 tanks, not just Brits. I've taken several tanks from every nation except France through T3, and the I C can tear each and every one of them a new-one without breaking a sweat. They're ridiculous.
At 4-5, they can only take on TD, Arty, and Light Tanks like I said, but their speed allows them to run rings around everything that could possibly be waiting in the rear; neither TDs nor Arty have anywhere near the turn or traverse speed to counter a determined I C, and most them lack high enough armour to be able to ignore it.
Then again, I might have just been hellishly unlucky in every game I've faced them, or stupidly fortunate in every game where they've carried our team just by doing their job.
I despise the feths, and will actively hunt them down whenever I get the chance. It's rare to find a game around their tier with enough players who recognise their potential, either, so you find them tearing through tanks who simply refuse to prioritise it as a target until it's racked up 6 kills in a row. It's the only tank I refuse to even think about using, purely because it takes the fun of a match-up, sodomises it, sets it alight, and beats a puppy to death with it.

I suggest you try one, they are no where near as powerful as you think they are.

It can get frustrating at times though like when you repeated get stuck in a 5-7 tier game with your stock tier 5 tank but it is fun overall especially once you fully unlock and trick out tanks you like.

Agreed... I actually found it to be substandard (bad pen and mediocre maneuverability) and went with a different Tier 3 tank as my goto choice for that tier.
There is an Italian tree in development for the PC at the moment as well as a 'European' tree for smaller nations such as Sweden. As it stands though the Chinese and Japanese trees are very small, they each have a light/medium and a heavy line.
I think by far the biggest problem with the game is its matchmaker, trying to fight tanks 2 tiers above you is an exercise in frustration. Its no where near as bad as it used to be (there used to be a 4 tier range....) but I would far rather the gap was reduced to a single tier. I would prefer to wait longer for a game that I would be actually useful in.

Some tanks handle it way better than others though. Case and point is the hellcat. That thing can rock a tier 8 game pretty well. But then you get things like the AT 7, which aren't that impressive in their tier, let alone Tier 9 games.
The hellcat is little too prone to being one shot and its top gun isnt really all that scary to a tier 8 .
Some tanks do work fairly well at higher teirs but most dont. There isnt a single heavy in the game that is anything more than a mild annoyance when they are at the bottom of the team.
Im not sure why Wargaming insists on its current matchmaker. This ts clearly unfair and there has to be a reason beyond incentivising people to buy gold ammo.
Palindrome wrote: The hellcat is little too prone to being one shot and its top gun isnt really all that scary to a tier 8 .
Really? I find with binocs and a camo net I can sit ages away from the main line and snipe shots into the sides of turrets/vulnerable bits of hull/whatever, and 6th sense helps me not get wacked. Constantly moving after firing etc also helps with that. I don't know, my friends and I really rate the hellcat at tier 8 compared to other tanks when they try and jump tiers. But each to their own I guess, I'm sure there are tanks that you have played which you think can handle the mm really well that I' think have similar problems at higher tiers.
But I would be all for a mm change to 1 tier either side.
Tanks with big derp guns are the most versatile at higher tiers (the KV2 and SU152 are perfect examples). Guns that rely on AP rounds have a nasty tendency to bounce, aiming at weakspots does help a lot but they tend to be small targets. Additonally rounds lose penetration over range so sitting at your view range and sniping means that your penetration is significantly reduced. "That one bounced".

Encounter is the one with the flag in the middle, and both teams starting without a flag. So both teams can capture the spot in the middle, or just murderise each other. They are the games that can hilariously end after 1/2 minutes, because no one realises the enemy is capping that early and so no one tries to hit them.
Standard battles are where you each have a base that can be captured.
Assault (I know you didn't ask, but hey) is when one team has a base to defend (which can be captured) and win by either killing the enemy team or stopping the enemy from capturing the base in time.
Mina has to be the ligth tanks actualy, up to T3 is where I have the most fun. Although The likes of the Matilda is also great fun if a bit slow at times
They are all differen't, its difficult to even make generalisations. Take the French heavy line for example. It starts of slow, very well armoured and with mediocre guns but ends up fast with extremely weak armour and very good guns.
So until about a week ago I've had an overall win percentage of 59. Of course it would fluctuate as I played more games, but I was able over the past few months to keep it fairly consistently at about 59%. Then about a week ago I began getting the worst teams over and over again. During the week it has been steadily dropping every time I play games. It has dropped more than a full percentage point in just about a week.
I don't know what to do about it. Even in games where I get a significant amount of kills my team is often losing. I've had several games with 5 or more kills where my team still lost. One game last week I had 8 kills and the other 14 members of my team could somehow not close the deal. It's intensely frustrating and the trend has not abated for a week or more. It's begun to affect my other statistics as well as I also find myself wanting to play less due to the problem with getting such terrible team mates game after game.
Nothing. The match maker takes no account of player skill and some teams are simply terrible, additionally the mismatched tiers mean that all the players in a specific game aren't evenly matched. In short as long as your win rate is around 50% you are a decent player. I have played just under 7k games, my win rate is 51.8% and I would consider myself a good player.
It has (relatively) thick and well sloped frontal armour and its 105mm derp gun can one shot EVERYTHING on tier and below with relative ease. Its not fast but its also not slow either, its main weakness is its nearly nonexistent side and rear armour.
As a Hetzer vet on the computer version, I can confirm that the Hetzer's main strengths are its speed with the upgraded engine and the 105mm derp cannon. Side armor is a problem, however, and the 105's slow fire rate means you're probably going to lose in a slugfest. Also, the slim traverse of the Hetzer's gun can also be a problem when an enemy tank suddenly appears to your side.
With the 105, split the ammo between AP and HE (I never used premium). Use HE on anything Tier IV or lower, or even on lightly armored higher tier tanks. Use AP on everything else and make sure to aim for weak spots like the treads since the 105 trades penetration for damage.
You've got to use a shoot-and-scoot strategy with the Hetzer. Buy and equip Camo Netting (I'd even suggest getting gold to buy actual camouflage for all environments), use the upgraded engine to get into position, and wait. Ideally you want a side or even a rear shot with the HE. After you fire, move! Reposition, get cloaked, and fire again.
Hitting vet with the tank is awesome, since you can start getting veteran skills for your crewmembers.
In some games I'd rack up half or more of the kills for my team in my Hetzer.
I only ever use HE with derp guns. AP shells tend to be pretty much hopeless. HE will almost always do some damage and more to the point if they penetrate they will do massive damage, I have managed to 1 shot KV-1Ss with mine before now.
HE shells have low penetration so you need to aim for weak spots (generally speaking side and rear armour, vison blocks/MG ports, turret cupolas and the lower glacis plate). One other excellent weakspot is the front and rear drive wheel. You won't do massive damage by hitting it, though you will do some, but you are likely to break the track.
One other thing that is VERY important about the Hetzer is that it is practically blind with the worst view range for the tier I've ever used. If you equip binoculars, you'll have less than the starting view range of the american equivalent T-40. If I spot a lone hetzer at range, I just simply stop and keep plucking away till he is dead confident in the knowledge that he won't ever find me without help.
Am I right in thinking you can't run platoons on the 360?
Whether I enjoy a match depends on random team mates. Today we had a tag with my AT 2 and a Panzer 3... he spotted a churchill 7, pulled back, I took off all the CHurchill's health as he was trying to circle me, big holes in his rear panniers, then as he got near I couldn't quite turn fast enough. Panzer 3 got his rear and finished him off. I like how you have to communicate using 7 or 8 words in total.
I'm running Churchill 7, AT2, Stug, VK36, occasionaly Panzer III. I love the AT2 for how you can sometimes control a game, always great to get the Kolabonov, and last night I got the one named after the French dude whoever he is...

Those friggin AT2s are indestructable. They simply don't care about going up against a heavy.
I've got a Churchill and It's my first heavy. I like it but it's got completely exposed tracks and everytime it gets shot it get tracked.
Am I right in thinking you can't run platoons on the 360?
Yes, but only platoons of up to 3 people. It definitely makes it more fun than no platoons at all, but it is a problem when it comes to having enough competent team mates at times to really enjoy the game.
I regularly play with a friend or two and all of us are quite good at the game, frequently finding ourselves near or at the top of the performance card for damage caused to enemy vehicles and improving the overall win percentage for all of us. However, it's sometimes just not enough to overcome the preponderance of terrible team mates with which we're often saddled since they still take up 12 or 13 slots alongside our platoon. It would be great if platoons allowed for at least 5 or more friends to enter battle together.
You'd think that the ability to platoon up would make the game markedly better but even the possibility of getting matched in with 3 morons running together (instead of them individually) can be devastating to your team. Platooning also gives you the idiotic chance of a Tier 1 or 2 in a Tier 7-10 match because the new guy is leeching off of his friends instead of those friends instead getting a low tier tank and running at his tier. It screws over the entire team when you run into people like that.

I have seen that, but I've also seen the game just stick a randomly really low tier tank in a much higher tier game because I've had it happen to me on occasion.
You do have a point though. My ability to build a platoon of good players can be offset in some games by people building platoons of really bad ones that are then placed on my team. What a bummer.
One other issue in the game is "trolls", people who enter a game without any intention of actually playing it, but who instead are there just to annoy, bother, interfere with or even kill their own team mates. Fortunately this is not a major problem in most matches, but if I play for a few hours it's bound to happen on my team at least once during that time. Here's a list of some of the common "trolling" behaviors I've seen:
- Deliberate killing of team mates. Team members only take splash damage from each other, but it still does enough damage to be a problem. Artillery does a ton of splash damage which makes it especially dangerous to team mates. - People pushing their mates out of cover to get them spotted and killed. This is especially a problem when defending on the hill in Assault scenarios on Malinovka. I always look behind me at the start of every match in that situation to avoid this problem. - Team mates shoving or deliberately blocking and impeding the progress of team mates in general. - Players who deliberately do nothing. I've seen people just driving their vehicles in circles and engaging in other inane behavior without making any attempt to actually assist in destroying enemy vehicles or capturing a base.
Still, overall I find World of Tanks on Xbox 360 very fun and addictive. Most of the time it's exciting and entertaining. I have learned to take breaks when it starts to go bad at times on tier matching or when I get a spate of bad teams. Sometimes it's best to quit and come back to it at a later time.
Trolls are definitely an issue but I encounter utter stupidity alot more. Yesterday, for instance, 3 of us were in the small valley to the left of the Lakeside map we were facing two enemy tanks.. one of which was over the top and shooting me (and I was of course tier 7 in a 7-9 game). You would think that by me signaling to focus fire on the only guy threatening a team member that the rest would focus fire on a single tank... but that wasn't the case. Even though that one tank was plainly visible to all 3 of us (with the two others on my team being T8-9 heavy and TD), one guy decided to wait for a better shot so as not to get spotted himself and the other fired uselessly (doing no damage) on the sliver of a turret of the guy behind the hill instead of the guy on the top. Needless to say, his E-75 killed my T-29 and then he turned his attention on the two idiots.
I play light tanks alot and the same thing happens there. I usually score the top score (total score, not damage) by surviving and scouting the whole game and not by idiotic suicide runs in the first minute. When I scout out in the middle of the valley of the new desert map and light up 3-4 of the enemy team, you would think they'd be thankful enough for that to actually cover me... but they tend not to be. Instead, they focus on guys on the hills and COMPLETELY ignore the one guy in the quick medium tank that inevitably drops down into the valley to go spot me in return. They get the one kill between the 3-4 of them that I'm spotting for and then lose the person that was giving them the spots in the first place. I really try to be a helpful and annoying (to the enemy) light tank and I don't think it is too much to ask that people prioritize my safety when their own WAY WAY back in the starting area isn't at risk in any way. If you have 3 enemy tanks in front of you and two are no immediate thread but one is a threat to a teammate, why wouldn't you target that last one? Obviously if one is a t-95 or somesuch and you can't penetrate it that is a different case but it makes no sense when you can damage all three but choose not to take on the guy about to kill a teammate.
I agree that the game is addicitive but the Call of Duty MLG sniper 1337 pro attitude some players bring to a decidedly team game helps me occasionally kick the habit for the rest of the evening. :(

Ya that was me. I was a Tier II getting pulled into Tier VI games.....sorry, everyone.
Trolls are definitely an issue but I encounter utter stupidity alot more.
Most definitely. Yesterday I had a game where my team went 3-15, luckily immediately followed by a game where my team went 15-3.
I get far too many games where team mates simply cannot figure out how to damage an enemy tank or they throw their tank away pointlessly instead of using tactics to get into situations where they can damage the enemy and contribute to a win. I've seen team mates throw a game away by leaving a mostly captured flag to go fruitlessly look for one more cheap kill that they can't possibly get. I could go on and on... :(
Of course, I also benefit from that kind of stupidity when it's on the other team. The other day I had a Stug charge into my Sherman Jumbo, making it much, much easier for me to kill him. I have dumb opponents do stuff like that all the time. I always want to thank them for the free and easy kill!
I've been playing the 7 day trial. It is quite enjoyable but I can't figure out how to delete tanks so I can buy the next teir up (I've filled my slots).
Considering buying Live Gold again to play this, but don't really want to have to spend money on in-game coins to unlock slots. Not a fan of microtransactions at all.

Just click the upgrade button and at the bottom is "sell. "
If you go to the tank you want to "delete", click "X" and then go to "sell". You get rid of it from the garage and get most (but not all) the silver you spent on it and upgrades. The XP (gold stars next to the tank tier) stays with it though. You can always rebuy the tank with silver and that XP is still there.
Garage space is a problem and at some point we've all probably sold a tank to make room for a new one. I bought one of the more economical starter packages to get 4 more garage spaces and bought two more after that with the surplus bit of gold I had after buying the package.
There are a whole bunch of new bundles available for anyone who may be interested. Go to this link for details:

I didn't have the best of luck with the Hetzer at first but now that it's fully upgraded: holy crap. Might as well be shooting a laser cannon. Hetzer gonna Hetz.
Those friggin AT2s are indestructable. They simply don't care about going up against a heavy.
Track them and get around their sides and rear and they are easy kills. If you have to fight them from the front aim at the commanders cupola or the gun mounting (not the mantlet, the area directly surrounding the gun), it 'only' has 100mm of armour there so most tier Vs and some IVs can get a least some pens there.
I have decided to finally get myself a Tiger, its not exactly the most impressive stock tank ....
KamikazeCanuck wrote: I didn't have the best of luck with the Hetzer at first but now that it's fully upgraded: holy crap. Might as well be shooting a laser cannon. Hetzer gonna Hetz.
It definitely gets better but that laser still blinds you with that 200 some odd spotting. German view range is subpar at low to medium tiers but the hetzer needs some cataract surgery stat!
Since I've been playing lights mostly, I decided to try the brit line and I'm impressed. The tier 2 and 5 lights are quite good light tanks (ok spotters but great flankers). The crusader fully upgraded has a good gun for a light and does NOT get the ultra crappy scout matchmaking. Its bigger and slower than the Luchs and Stuart but is low profile and turns well.
Just checked it out on the wiki as it isn't in the xbox version... yup, sounds like I'd enjoy it. I'm actually looking for a T6 maneuverable tank as the Jackson and M6 are too slow. The hellcat looks nice and the firefly sherman would be great as well.
Anyone else completely sick of the VK36? Never made it to the end of a game yet... enjoyed every other tank I've run 'cos each has their strengths. This doesn't seem to have any.. (Still on stock gun etc).
So what is it good for?
Re AT2, yes, keep shooting at the cupola. It will take a huge amount of punishment anywhere but there, and its gun is lousy (tho I loved it, it was a great tank).
Sidescraping. I love my VK, its my second favourite T6 heavy after the KV-2.
I doesn't have a good selection of weapons, even the 88 isn't all that good, but it is well armoured and if you angle it properly you can tank anyone that you are likely to face. I have faced down tier 8 tank destroyers in mine before now. Its a decent all round tank but if you get yourself in some hard cover with good lines of fire you will do some good.

Now I'm on the long 75mm, it's transformed. Thanks for helping me stick with it.
Love the quote, and the look of the beast but. my, these are underwhelming tanks. THey mostly sit there like beached whales until killed - both my side and the oppos. We lost a game tonight, I went to the base and took it, wiped out Pz IV and two arties, sat on the base while the TOG just sat there. Did the same after I got blown up. Was the last one standing, sitting there like a bump on a log. Did nothing....

That has nothing to do with the TOG II. I see that problem all the time. It has to do with people either getting disconnected from the server or being away from controller or leaving the game early. That's why you'll sometimes see tanks sitting there in the starting spawn area not doing anything or even sitting other places occasionally on the battlefield not doing anything at all.
I played a game the other day where there were not one, but two "unoccupied" tanks at the enemy base. Needless to say, those were easy kills and a severe disadvantage for the their team which was down two players the entire game.

On the PC 'AFK' tanks have their barrels pointing to the floor. Some people do seem to like camping their own spawn point for some reason so its possible for active. albeit not very good, players to be in their own spawn for most of the game.
When a tank is totally inactive, never moving it's tracks or turret or firing a single shot, I'm pretty sure the player is AFC (away from controller) or has been disconnected.
Unfortunately, server disconnections do happen and I've had it happen to me and to friends during games. Sometimes people never load into the game properly and you'll see those as grey symbols rather than green or red at the top of the battle screen. More annoying are the people who load into a game and simply don't play, severely hampering your team's chances for a win in a close game.
I definitely see totally inactive tanks in some games. Again, as described in a previous comment here I killed two of them in one game the other day which was really good for me and my team and really bad for the opposing team which got completely destroyed. They certainly might have done at least a bit better if they didn't have two AFC players on their team. It's especially problematic when the AFC players have the most powerful highest tier tanks on a team.
On another topic, tier matching has gotten to be quite problematic on some evenings. Recently I've had more than one game where it shoved five or less tanks of one tier into a game where all of the other tanks in the lobby were a tier or two higher. This puts you in a situation where you have little to no influence on the outcome of the game as you really can't go out and do much useful or effective battle at all in those situations. It's frustrating and a complete waste of time to be in games like that, leaving you totally dependent on your team mates for the win or loss.
Good and bad team mates are also an issue and it seems to run in spates. Some evenings even with my usual talented platoon we simply cannot seem to get a winning team, the game always giving us the weaker team mates. My win percentage really suffers on evenings like that. I've learned to take breaks and come back another day when it gets like that before my stats suffer too much.
I once lucked out on the issue of a player being AFC. Everyone on the team but two guys were dead and one of the two remaining players was clearly AFC, his tank having been abandoned mid-battle and not responding at all. His tank was absolutely essential for a win against the remaining enemy vehicle as the other vehicle was too small and too badly damaged to win a one-on-one fight. Fortunately, the AFC guy decided to come back to his tank just in time to win the game. That's rare though, usually when I see a tank abandoned either at the start or during a battle the player never comes back and the inactive tank provides an easy kill to some enemy player.
Unless your in a tank that gets scout matchmaking your only ever going to see tanks that are two teirs higher then you. 90% of Premium Tanks get special matchmaking so they will only ever see tanks that are one teir higher then them.
Just because your the bottom teir in a game doesn't mean you can't be effective and a valuable member of your team you just need to plat differently.
If you don't like being bottom tier don't research the Chaffee, it's tier 5 but 25% of the time it will see tier 10's.

I've been working towards the Chaffee for quite some time (takes over 55,000 exp god damnit) but starting to think i should just sell my Stuart.
Don't sell the stuart but I doubt you will like the matchmaking on the chaffee. It really really really sucks and the tank is very expensive to repair so you're in over your head the vast majority of time AND paying through the nose for the privelege. When you're facing stuff 5 tiers above you, you don't even have a view range advantage on average so you get spotted by guys you don't see and one shotted to boot. It sucks as the "top tier" scout. It still happens with the Luchs and m5 Stuart but not as often and you at least some games of the time are facing a majority of stuff within 1 tier of your own. The best I've ever gotten in my Chaffee was a tier 5-7 match but the average is 7-9.
Light tanks after tier 3 aren't worth the effort (except, perhaps, for French ones). The match making system for WoT is hideous, hopefully when Warthunder's ground combat is released Wargaming will be forced to up their game and finally implement a fair system.

Well that sounds horrible. Don't see why I'm holding onto my Stuart then. It's pretty good but I'm just working towards misery.
Anyway, we're getting new stuff! Crew skills, new British tanks and a new map. Should keep me interested for a while. Turns out the base model Pz IV isn't that good. Need to level it up.

Highest tier for light tank is V right? They should have gotten out of the WWII era and done some modern stuff. Even just to keep the lights relevant.
Nope, French lights go to 8. Chinese do too I think, or maybe even 9. And a bunch of their tanks aren't really WWII era, the high tier British mediums being offenders here.

The Chaffee is a fun little tank to drive. It's tiny, manuverable and stealthy. It's not a french tank so it's best at passive scouting.... Even against tier 9's and 10's it's gun is suprisingly effective when used correctly.
If you enjoy passive scouting for the first half of the game and then in the later half zipping around shooting larger tanks in the ass you'll enjoy the Chaffee.
World of Tanks on Xbox now has the crew features that already existed on the PC version of the game. Here's a tutorial on how to make use of this new feature.

More like the Stug is good at shtupping (enemy tanks).
What the Stug and other tank destroyers are not good at is brawling at close range with tanks. Tank destroyers simply do not have the armor generally speaking for doing so, yet I frequently have the odd Stug player and similar tank destroyers try to mix it up with my T14 or Sherman Jumbo at close range, much to my amusement because it's pretty much ALWAYS a cheap easy kill for me.

I take it the british TD line isn't in the Xbox version of the game yet?
Well, if the T95 is close, you can hit it's bumps. If it is far away, that is much harder. But yeah, one of those things rolling up the 8 line on himmelsdorf sucks when you are in an AT15.
And I'm assuming the two comments you made were unrelated, because the T95 is US. And the Brits (after the AT 2, so AT 6- AT 15) do better generally at sniping, because then you can't get at their cupolas/other weak spots.
As would the SU152 but for a different (152mm HE) reason. Some TDs are snipers while some are at their best at close range (as long as they aren't in danger of being flanked)
it's a grind with the short 75mm but soon looks up - once you're on the longer 75mm it's good, then on the second gun on the VK36 you'll be laughing.
IN the meantime I've gone the Panzer III/IV route - it's a great little tank thanks to the sloped armour.
Also grinding the Brits, so we can get to the Cromwell and Comet - thank God I've finally reached the six pounder on the Crusader, it takes a lot of shots to kill anything with the measly two pounder, and the Covenanter always seems to end up in high tier matches. After all the ones I've popped with my Hetzers and Panzer IV, it's like I'm reaping karma.
Lots of glitching since the update, though, specially on Himmelsdorf.

I've gotten a glitch where the game freezes for me (but not anyone else) for 5-6 seconds on that map... twice. And a third time it happened to a friend. It's like you just pressed the pause button while watching a movie.

The T95 is the most heavily armored (frontally) vehicle in the game, we just don't talk about the side and rear... It's got some week spots but they can still be pretty tough and are fairly well armored even at close and medium ranges. It's biggest draw backs are it's speed and lack of side and rear armor, but lack of side and rear armor is a common occurance in American tanks. Generally in tanks tier 6 and higher I carry roughly 20% of my ammo loadout in premium ammo to use against things like the T95, sometimes you just have to penetrate the front armor of something.
It was two seperate comments, but they were loosely related... I was refering to someones comment about TD's not being good at close range brawling. The Brits, starting with the AT2 get roughly 200mm at the front and 100mm at the side, at tier 5 thats substantial. Sure the thing is loaded with weak spots but it's a tier 5 tank most people at that tier don't know about them... To some extent the T18 is similar to the AT2, both are highly overpowered for their tier and are both tank destroyers.
It's actually one of (if not the most) armored on the sides as well with IIRC 150mm of side armor that is spaced for additional protection. It pretty much on the sides is immune to lower tier non-heavy/TD fire with a bit of angling.
I take it the british TD line isn't in the Xbox version of the game yet?
The T95 would like to challenge your argument.
They are in there and absolutely there are exceptions to what I said because there are some tank destroyers that can brawl a bit as they are nearly indestructible, but a good "tracking" will still leave them quite vulnerable. Mostly it's the British tank destroyers (AT2, AT8, AT7) or really high tier ones for all three countries available on Xbox that are super tough. However, when I see Stugs, Hetzers, Alecto's (fast because they have paper thin armor), Jacksons and Wolverines behaving like they are tanks and not tank destroyers I just sit back and enjoy getting, watching or contributing to the easy kills. That is, unless those guys are on my team, then I know my team is in trouble.

Actually the German Fixed Gun TD line is pretty well armored all the way through. Hetzers and Stugs are actually suprisingly well armored especially at their teir. The British line isn't really a good example... They get their 200mm of frontal armor at tier 5 and it never really increases or angles while gun penetration is constinatly going up.
A Jackson is best played like a medium while it does have alot of armor, that armor is only on the rounded nose of the body of the tank and doesn't protect anything thats commonly shot at. I seem to remember WG saying something about it being on the list for rebalancing as there's no reason to play it over the Hellcat
There is something said for being agressive, sometimes it works really well especially when you play the lower tier vehicles. Alot of the TD's Tier 5 and lower are tiny and sit low to the ground, driving right up in the face of a tank and using their gun depression against them is a viable tactic. Couple that with the generally superior guns and rates of fire of a TD and sometimes I'm more then willing to go head to head with a more heavily armored target.
It's not really the tank that determines how effective and engamenet is going to be, more often then not it all comes down to how well suported your vehicle is. If you watch the video I posted you'll see that even though the T95 spent most of the game tracked he had enough support from his teammates that the enemy was unable capitialize on his sides and rear armor
Yeah, people playing their tanks like something else is an epidemic of stupidity. I see folks with glass cannons like wolverines or t40's running forward occasionally but more frequently I see Brit TD's with incredible armor but mediocre at best guns hanging back. They need to be attracting the attention in the midfield instead of hanging back while the rest of the team flanks. Instead, they take the whole "sniper" TD thing which frankly doesn't apply well to them too seriously and lose the game. I see it all the time on Malinowka assault where a at5 hangs way back in the start area doing absolutely nothing with its pathetic gun instead of leading the charge with its best for multiple tiers armor. Then you get the low tier to mid tier (for the particular game) mediums that ignore their own mobility and snipe along with the occasional scout tank who wants to do the same. Admittedly, some of these poor players are conditioned by other poor players who don't support them when they do play their role. I've had the same thing happen to me when I go out and scout for the team and the 4 or 5 people behind me don't bother firing a single shot on the tank that is approaching ME to spot me in turn but instead focus on some other target that is no threat at the moment to anyone on the team.

I'm generally pretty forgiving of people in AT 2's. If you moving up that particular line you move from an alecto, with its awsome modility and gun right into the AT 2 which even fully upgraded is lacks firepower and mobility. It's a hell of a shock that more often then not leaves new players scratching their head. Hell, that change is almost as bad as going from their the Sherman Jumbo or the M6 to the T29.
KamikazeCanuck wrote: It's quite hard to pen from the front.
My favorite are the artilleries that charge straight forward into the enemy. Obviously the best place for Artillery is at the tip of the spear.
The Hetzer has a pretty weak lower glacis plate and of course its side armour is non existent. As always people who know where and how to aim can be quite troublesome.
Artillery is basically worthless now, well it is on the PC version. It was horribly nerfed several patches ago and now TD mode is just about the only thing that works for some SPGs. It takes about a minute to load, 10-15 seconds to aim (which keeps getting constantly reset due to the absolutely tiny gun traverse most SPGs have) and to make matters worse the shell is not only extremely inaccurate it is also extremely slow. Getting kills with arty is all down to the RNG rather than skill these days so hardly anyone plays SPGs anymore. Wargaming obviously don't care though as its been this way for about a year now.

Admittedly, some of these poor players are conditioned by other poor players who don't support them when they do play their role.
Be careful of thinking that the class of tank is what defines their role, there are a lot of factors that come into play not least their armament. Some heavies and mediums make great snipers so should be hanging back with the TDs (Tigers, Centurions, KV-1s with a 57mm etc) while some scouts simply prefer to protect the back line at the start of the match and then transition to scout in the mid game or go arty hunting, kamikaze runs don't do much good.
People quite commonly think that they know better than me when I position myself "like a noob", yet I almost invariably come higher than them in the match rankings.

My favorite are the artilleries that charge straight forward into the enemy. Obviously the best place for Artillery is at the tip of the spear.

It's funny when it works though.
It never works! It's just dumb. Don't know how people can make it to Tier IV and co playlet not know how to play the game.
It does, as long as you accept that you will probably only get 1 shot and its very map dependent. Then again SPGs in general are very map dependent, they are all but worthless on urban maps like Himmelsdorf.
Arty tends to have very high alpha damage so they have a really good chance of killing whatever they hit, but they will only get a hit at very close range.

Beginning of the game, of course not. But it does make for a very entertaining and explosive last stand.
Those mother fethers have finally released a Soviet tank: the KV-5 but it's a premium tank. They say it'll never be available by normal route. That's a pretty famous tank to not let people get. Is it a premium tank on PC too?
Automatically Appended Next Post: Anyway, the M4 Sherman is the best tank I've ever used. It does everything well.
Yupp, the KV-5 is a premium tank in the PC version as well. It's a bit of a mixed bag though. It's insanely well armored but has an iffy gun and pretty glaring weak spots.
We have one poncey British captain named Marmaduke who's taking forever to train. Typical public school mediocrity I reckon, he shoulda surely learned more than he has, the number of times he's been blown to bits in a Covenanter (he's now in a Crusader but is just as dim).
My german commanders seem much brighter, as does my AT8 commander.

What gear or what is good about the tank itself? If you mean gear, I use mine as a scout tank with some punch so I go for camo, optics, and binoculars. I rush up to the middle into cover and spot/fire while stationary (but not into the enemy on a suicide run). I train sixth sense and relocate if spotted myself. Fully upgraded, the ROF on the gun is ridiculous so you don't need a rammer. I could also see pure maneuverability to be of use as well.

I think surviving is key and it does make sense considering if your tank blows up the crew is dead and it's hard to learn much from that. I have over 300,000 elite XP on my Luchs and it wasn't even at 100% when the crew features got added but other tanks at less than 50k could pick a skill. I run my lights aggressively (but not suicidally) so they tend to die more often than my TDs.
motyak wrote: Tips in terms of what, what is good on the crusader? Or in terms of is it good to have in general?
It was mainly what people go for in terms of training; especially on the Crusader. Tend to go for BiA here, sixth sense, will probably go for Camo on the jagdpanzer 4. But in the main, how are people finding training crews?
IN terms of the thread title; having great fund with Churchill VIII, AT8, VK36 grossturm with 88. Quite like the Jagdpanzer IV (missing the Hetzer, that ws a great tank). Suffering with a low iteration of the VK 30, and getting blown up a lot in the Crusader depending on the map . Last night racked up 3000 on the VK36 but struggled to reach 1000 with the Crusader. Some of the best, most productive games were the AT2; last man standing, and carried the game twice. \
Warboss, thanks for the heads up, seems you get half as much crew experience if the relevant member is killed.
Crews are underwhelming. That bar just doesn't move. I've been having a lot of good games lately including somehow getting 5 kills with a Stuart. It just doesn't move and of course it basically resets when you transfer them.

It does ever so slightly and less with each level as the threshold increases. For instance, I needed 8% for my Churchill I's first skill unlock and got three percent on a loss and levelled up on my next game. If you go into the crew screen you'll see the progression. It won't go any faster but at least you'll see the minuscule progress.
KamikazeCanuck wrote: I got some tanks unlocked just can't afford them silver-wise. Think I should get the AT8 or the Churchill VII?
I have both, and love them both; obviously the Churchill is more versatile, but it's the AT8 that's a real beast. I'd personally recommend the AT8, unless people know your weak spots it can be invincible.
Maybe you should go for a contrast with whatever else you run, if you have lots of tanks, go for the AT8, if you already have a good number of assault guns, choose the Churchill.
I went for the Churchill. Still trying to finish off the Heavy Captain acheivement. I'm at the point now where it's a lack of silver holding me back not exp.

Get used to it, this problem will dog you until the end of your (WoT) days.
The answer is depends on what your intended playstyle is. The E2 is the uparmored variant and the E8 is the upengined one. Both are the same offense. The "jumbo" e2 without the fully upgraded gun is second only to the brit ATs in armor but is slower than a normal m4. The "easy 8" e8 is faster and more maneuverable especially in terrain.
So what does everyone think of how this game is running on Xbox 360 since the last update?
Personally, I like some of the changes, but I miss the old scoreboard at the end of each match that told you exactly which tanks you damaged and spotted, how much you did to each one and which gamer tag owned the tank.
My friends and I are also getting a lot more frozen screen glitches during matches since the last update.
I think everything is better. One thing is I'm shooting a lot more tanks I can't see because that popup comes up everytime you hit something. So sometimes if you have the approxiamte location of a tank you can't see you can lob some shells in there and you'll know you have a hit even if you can't see it.
Only bad thing is in the new after action report it doesn't tell you what the bnadges you've earned are but you can look that up afterwards.
My only complaint is that they got rid of the return of the countdown clock at the beginning of the match. I keep loading a few seconds into the match and miss out half the time on that all important initial rush out of the base with my fast tanks. Other than that, I really like the changes.

You don't like that they have it or they don't have it? They have it now and it's a good thing because it lets everyone get a few more seconds to check in.
Apparently I load in too late because I never see it. I did PRIOR to the last update though for a couple weeks but it disappeared for me that day. I liked the countdown. I may have to try deleting everything and redownloading to see if that helps again.

Probably something to do with your connection speed. I usually check in with 3-4 seconds to go.
Since you don't download the level on the fly, I think it may have more to do with the hard drive loading speed. I've got an older model xbox (an original "elite" and not one of the newer slims).
After finding out in this thread (thanks!) that the countdown does still exist but I'm just unfortunately missing it every game, I deleted the game and redownloaded it and it seemed to work.

Now, that 2 extra seconds of lead time with your light tank will get you killed 2 seconds faster!

Oh my! I have not played this game in some time since my gold membership ran out, have there come any other factions beside US, Brits and ze Germans and now the Russians?
Still hugely enjoying the Cromwell. Fascinating how, as you achieve more in a tank, your win rate goes up. Was at 49% in the Cromwell and managed to get it up to 57%; same with the Tiger.
But with the Tiger, you can hold a flank but you can't get back and, say, rescue a base. On my best Cromwell games, I've cleared the arty off the enemy base, then gone back and cleared mediums off our base. fabulous tank.
Will be on the Hellcat, soon, looking forward to that, I hate American tanks as they're so ugly, but as I've been bugged by this tank a good many times I can't wait to get to grips with it.
I think it was this game when I realised what a gem the Cromwell is. Me and VK36 cleaned up 11 of them while everyone else wandered around randomly. It's the occasional partnerships, when you get to work with someone who knows what they're doing, which make this so addictive.

I'm using the Crusader right now and....well its just not a very good tank. Was going to go away from the British tanks after I'm done with it and the Churchill VII. The Cromwell is that much of an improvement?
The crusader is an excellent tank as long as you use it as a light tank (and not a medium). You spot for the rest of the team but deal damage on occasion (depending on the tier spread in the game). If you play the crusader like you would any other tier 5 light tank (assuming you like that playstyle), you'll love it. It has a serious sting when played properly even against higher tiers (the premium rounds for the final gun have 180 pen!) but just make sure to not try to get into a slugfest with mediums and heavies of your tier or higher.
The cromwell is a very fast more traditional medium tank with a bigger gun than the crusader and even more speed with fast turning and acceleration. It plays like a VK30 that traded in some firepower for even more speed and maneuverability.
Hated the Covenanter, Crusader was ok... but only really understood what to do when I hit the Cromwell.
also, getting skills up was a hassle, then once I hit sixth sense on the Cromwell, learned to to scoot off when spotted. Never attack head on if you can avoid it. But the speed of the gun is fantastic and it does a fair amount of damage.
really prefer it to the VK30, cos I'm always tempted to stay around for one more shot on the VK30, whereas you know you can't risk it in the Cromwell. Mine has upgraded suspension, as mobility is the only real defence, plus rammer and vents.
