You should have all listened to me when I said we should lynch Manchu and not lord of the ghosts - that's all I know.

A noble attempt, Drk_O, but perhaps just too broad a batch of changes to attempt all in one go or maybe with such a large game. Still, we had a pretty solid Day 1 Phase, and I'm impressed with how Manchu was able to dance around me so much (and even convince Lord Loss *I* was the one being dodgy and repeating myself. Egads!)

Good, I had in my mind that the Eldar was going to be a useful jerk. What did the rest of you think about the Eldar? (feel free to abuse him again, he's a corpse now after all)

Now that it's over I guess I'll reveal it completely for any who hadn't filled in all the gaps yet. My plan was lynch one of the two, assassinate the other and use the Bolt Pistol on one of the less active people.

Too bad my loop hole deal with the Eldar seemed to be useless, Thor should have gotten a PM from Drky explaining I was actually an Assassin, the initial plan was that if he was a loyalist my night kills could be directed usefully. If Thor wasn't a loyalist, then he would have been assassinated instead.

Count me in for the next game as well

My basic strategy was simple - expose traitors. I got Manchu caught in a fair few tells that all seemed to speak quite eloquently that he was a traitor - the problem was no one else seemed to share my read on him.

I did use my psker protect power on him that night phase for a simple reason - though I was 80% certain he was a Genestealer I knew that if he was innocent that the genestealers could easily kill either him or I to try and toss some potential blame on the other. If I'd known there was a loyalist assassin I would have protected my second option of Arctik (who I almost ended up protecting due to some confusion on Drk_O's part, but we sorted it out by the end and I went with Manchu as a defense target)

I had lotg and Lord Loss pegged as likely loyalists - though I thought n0t_u was pretty suspicious and about the time of my death was contemplating him as a likely partner for Manchu. (though, hey, 1 out of 2 isn't bad odds)

I knew that the game would would end in Day Phase 2 since it started, yet I thought it would have gone over differently. I made the mistake of giving n0t_u the bolt pistol over Arctik, although it would have been alittle unfair for the genestealers had I done so.

I beleived that Arctik would reveal himself as an Inquisitor fairly early, and reveal that Manchu was a Genestealer. At that point, I beleived either one of them would have been shot by the bolt pistol. If Arctik was shot, everyone would immediately vote for Manchu and it'd be game over

If I could be bothered to host another game (unlikely as it seems) I'm going to aim for a much bigger game, add in a few new roles, such as jester (Grot maybe?) and another renegade role. Also, I won't use an Eldar again, I'm thinking along the lines of C'tan, the Deceiver instead.

Personally, I think the Eldar/NPC role was crap. Original, but mostly crap.

I didn't even ask for the bolt pistol, and the game would have been even more broken if I did have it. I'm of the strong opinion that the GM should stay the hell out of the game. This isn't D&D, after all.

This was my first and only time doing this. All of the metagaming gives me a headache.

Probably the logic puzzle aspect. If that's what you mean, Owain, I am inclined to agree.

Also, I think Arctik has a good point. It's very tempting for the host to get involved but you have to remember that your voice is the "loudest" so to speak and can easily drown out the huge amount of work that players have done to convince one another of their positions. Host should be a non-presence. And, as I've found, even not saying a thing (intentionally or not) can have a big effect.

I don't think this particular game particularly went the way of the logic puzzle, but YMMV of course.

I will agree on the host involvement point as discussed by Manchu. It is a dangerous wire to walk if you choose to become involved at all.
