So when I saw this set I immediately thought Gal Vorbak.
A friend of a friend loves Dark Angels so I gave him that half.
I only wanted the new Chaos pieces.
Always one for eating my ice cream first I started on the Hellbrute.
I added books where the Horus Eyes were and added a large Dark Angel book from thier upgrade.
This is what I see happening when you inter a Gal Vorbak into a Drednought chassis.

Here is the Chosen Champion he has that Dark Apostle look to him.
Still need to fine tune him a bit and do the base.

I figured out an easy way to convert the Lord into a Dark Apostle by just adding a chaos icon ontop of the sword.

I finished the first cultist he can see double duty as my Blood Pact Commissar

This one took a while because I was chipping away a little at a time.
This OOP Forge World downed Valkryie

I am starting to crank out Cultists now.The first 5 is painted.
I am now slightly converting the most obvious double cultists

I had a mini marathon last night and finished off the cultists.
That completes the Chaos portion of my Army will add Aspireing Champ and Dark Apostle when they come out.
Not sure if the Dark Angel portion will be appropiate to post up,let me know on that.

It's actually kinda hard to keep up with your posting, because there's so much new stuff all the time I really like the paintjobs on your cultists, especially the colour selection!

I personally feel theyre slightly too orange. To me they seem to have a similar hue to the rusty weapons. I wonder if you used the same wash for the skin and the guns? Another highlight layer to bring them back into the normal pinkish range of human skin tone would work well i think.

But thats just imo, and i dont claim to be a great painter.

I am starting to work on the Dark Angels.
I have all the Ravenwing and HQ's primed.
I had a couple of extra DA bits enough to make a Master of Raven Wing,Attack Bike(Which makes a full squad in DA codex)Champion,and Missile Brother to boost the forces.)
The first two I finished is the Chaplain and Missile Brother

OK after getting the book I see my old army did not got it quite right.
I am ignoring the mettalic aspect,I do not like it.
I set about making a new tone for my Sons of Horus.
Started with a thin overcoating of Incubi Darkness over black undercoat.
Makes it black with a blue tint excellent for the deep crevaces instead of using pure black.
I then used USMC tankcrew with a touch of Grey Green to give him a good solid basecoat.
I then make a filter out of AK interactive Blue/Brown wash and used that to change the tone and add dirt streaks to the armor.
I will wait for the transfer sheet to do the markings

I still have a bunch of Mortalis tiles I am trying to get the steam back up for.
I got sick of painting them,wish they had more that 4 tiles.
But thats why I am painting the Starter Set to switch it up.
Speaking of which I have two more extras completed.
Master of the Ravenwing on Bike,the front tire is not glued down so I can make him pop a wheelie,good for keeping track of wounds.
I also modeled his Land Speeder,with these additions plus attack bike I turned the starter set into a full on Ravenwing army.

Time to boost the Chaos side a bit.
Bought myself a Sorcerer,Champion,and Dark Apostle along with a box of Raptors.
Here is the first one,I took a page from ADB's bleeding eyes and made him part of a Cult.

I switched up his jump pack to a extra Lord pack I had.
I finished off the Raptors,Champion,and Dark Apostle

I finished up the Sorceror tonight

I remembered one last unit to completely fluff out the Word Bearers

I went with a moderately damaged look,like they have been on the Hunt for a little while with little to no time to maintain things like superfical paint.

The Listing for the Cultists alow for 25 but the set only comes with 20.
I used Flagellants to convert into the other 5 cultists.

I finally finished the Dark Vengence Plus set.
There are alot of pics so I am going to slpit them up a bit and go into more detail.
The new model style has a more demonic feel to them I felt perfect for the Word Bearers
The first unit here is the Lord,Sorceror,Hellbrute and Chosen








I added a icon on top of the Lords sword to make it a Croxius Deamon Sword.
I used books the the Paladin and Ravenwing sprues,and cut out Litinies of Hatred out of blisterpack clamshell for the Hellbrute.
I added an extra Chosen using Possessed and Raptor bits that fits along the rest of them seamlessly.

Then I added the Dark Apostle to lead the ramble of Cultists.





The Cultist scuplts repeat themselves which bugs me.
I used bits from my bits box to create a few new cultists

The unit stats say Cultists can be upgraded to 25,so to make the five extra I used Empire Flagellants with IG bits.
The Necromunda line is also another great place for themed cultists paticually the Redmptionists and Scavys.
To add a bit extra I added a squad of the new Raptors and a unit of Gal Vorbak possessed,although I made two of them come from the Raptor Cult to tie in both units.

You never leave the Inquisition once you start on the path.
While waiting for my mail order to arrive I scratchbuilt a character I have been meaning to for a long time.

I used plasticard,ca glue,liquid gs,and alot of sanding.

I am very happy today,I just tested out tinting the existing troops with Coelia Greenshade and they came out the perfect shade with just one application.
