hmmm as for the "too high tech fellow" I'd say try adding some bags or other "primitive" type containers to his waiset area and paint the armor as more of a leather than a ceramic composite.

Ive got to say, it may be because of the lovely earthy colors, but those are some of the very very few eldar I like, and I really like these ones

And were back.

Here are the newer eldar ranger minis, really like these models.
I did some minor conversions removing helmets and replacing backpacks with various equipment to add some variety.

I only thought to take pictures of this one before painting:

Enjoy =)

your space elves are really stylish!

Post by: Two Spartan

Thanks H and VIk!
I really like the colour hawk turquoise and had the paint pot for so long with no idea what to paint with it, so it was good to finally try it out on a larger space =)

Here are some more hawks without paint,

And their squad leader or autrach, euchart.. eckhart? Exarch!

I also have tacked together my conversion of Nightspear to be my HQ. I really like how the head was a separate part, made the swap effortless.

The base will be a broken concrete structure, similar to what is on the base of my glowing ghoul mini.

Also here's an idea I've been pondering on for a while
Spoiler:

Cheers =)

Lol, I know that feeling, having a sweet looking color with no idea what to paint with it...
The flaming sword/ gehenna is very cool! Tho as shaso stated it needs more flame.

Cheers shas and vik, yea GS on the blade is the plan. Hopefully I can blend it in =)

Hey people!

I painted some more of my Dune-inspired Eldar, Swooping Hawk Conversions:

And I also completely reworked my ideas for Striking Scorpions:

From this:
Spoiler:

To this:

This design is a lot cooler and fits with my mini army much better I think.
It's simpler too

Cheers for lookin =)

Good to see these back in action.

I do like the new scorpion concept, certainly a closer match for your theme, but what about the mandi-blasters?

The torso from the high elf range is it? Might have to get me some of them

Two Spartans Minis (Fallout 3 at start of blog) @ 2014/03/21 13:41:30

Post by: Two Spartan

Yeah I wrestled with how to model them, because I really didn't want to have and helmets. So I guess either their is some hidden surprise behind the collar, or the mandiblaster attack is just them using their blasters in combat.
Because they have 1 attack and the mandiblaster gives them +1A,
Or do they have another attack from the pistol? I'm not sure.

And yea I thought the torsos on the high elves were super cool, gotta love those collars.

Here is my Swooping Hawk Exarch which finishes off the squad =)

I also painted my Nightspear character:

Cheers =)

Two Spartans Minis (Fallout 3 at start of blog) @ 2014/03/22 23:45:47

Post by: Warboss_Waaazag

The nightspear guy has very slab-like facial features. I don't know why but he reminds me of a door to door salesman with a gun. The paint job is superb, however.

Hahah Warboss, door to door salesman haven't heard that before, glad you like him anyway =)

Thanks Dr H and Xendark!

Here are two finished striking scorpions, I'm very happy with their scheme as it provides a missing link between the schemes of the hawks and the rangers.

Cheers =)

Great work and very creative. I love new takes on the Eldar - you don't see many. And having read only the first and last page of your thread, it seems like you've really upped your game!

Great job again TS.
Liking the worn look of the sword/club/killing device things. and the green on them is nice too.

Yeah, liking the paint on the scorpions, fits them in nicely

Post by: Two Spartan

Thanks everyone =)
And Dr H they are vibrational resonance matter-displacers, duh! A more elegant weapon than the very human chainsword =P

Here are two more converted striking scorpions, I am very fond of the guy with the mohawk,

Here is my original scorpion prototype that I was not pleased with enough to make a whole squad.
From this:

To this:

I like his ramshackle brutal look, however it didn't fit at all with the rest of my eldar force. But he does have a certain charm so I thought you might like to see =)

Luckily for me I found a solution for scorpions when the shadow warriors kit came out. Speaking of inspiration-sparking kits, the wildwood rangers look awesome to me!
I think I will make them into fire dragons but I don't know yet.

Thanks for lookin =)

Two Spartans Minis (Fallout 3 at start of blog) @ 2014/05/18 13:15:00

Post by: monkeytroll

Nicely done I like the painted prototype too, perhaps some fluff to explain him as a ronin/mercenary type would fit him in with the others.....

Picked up some shadow warriors recently after seeing these, sure I can find a good use for those neck cowls. And now you've pointed out those rangers I think I can see some of those bits working into a slaaneshi cult....

Two Spartans Minis (Fallout 3 at start of blog) @ 2014/05/18 14:23:51

Post by: Two Spartan

Thanks man! I think he will be a nemesis, a soul who has lost faith in the eldars "noble" quest.

Didn't think of slaanesh cultists good idea! Looking forward to seeing what you do with the shadow warriors.

Oh yeah, of course they are. How silly of me.

Latest pair look very good. Nice work.

and the rogue chap is also nice. Good use of parts.

While I am painting the last two scorpions here are three more Kroot that have been stripped and converted

Here is an example of their previous paint job again:
Spoiler:

"Axe"

"Guard"

"Fire"

Feels really good reviving these guys, feels like I'm getting a kit for free!

Thanks for looking =)

Despite the fact that this forum has run into a bit of a snag, to say the least; I thought I should post some Fallout-esque models here. They were just some paint schemes I was thinking up and was playing some Fallout. Given they're not as beautifully painted or converted as Two Spartan's Brotherhood Outcast models, I thought I'd post them here anyway. Enjoy

Good morning all.
Been on a long break but have had some inspiration to start modelling again.

Current project is a commission, painting up some demons by Eureka Miniatures.

Eureka are such champs they also sent over a bonus miniature.

What an interesting and unique take on Striking Scorpions. Very creative.

I also like the Kroot. You hardly ever see them, but I think they had a much more unique and interesting aesthetic than the Tau. I hope you get around to painting them.

I like the ghoul with his guts hanging out. The beard remnants give him a pirate look, to me.

Two Spartans Minis (Fallout 3 at start of blog) @ 2021/05/16 14:35:39

Thanks Riddle!

I actually completed assembling and painting the rest of the Kroot squad but never got round to photographing them until now. I have just uploaded all of the individual shots to my Tau project log, but here is a group shot.

Cheers
