Hi, everyone:
Starting a new blog to keep track of my work and share it with all of you! Please let me know what you think. I'll mainly be showing off Warhammer 40k Chaos Marines and Daemons but I've also recently gotten into X-Wing (Imperials!) and am just now starting a Warmachine army (Retribution of Scyrah). You're feedback means a lot to me. Anyway, here we go!
The Armies:
The Wild Crusade (Nurgle CSM and Daemons)
The Dark Wolves (Chaos Space Wolves)
Necrons
Orks
Also some Space Marines, Xwing, and Warmachine sprinkled in here and there. Enjoy!

My 40k Chaos Marine army is mostly nurgle but also has a medieval theme.
First up is a Heldrake I started back in 2013. He's done now but wanted to show some WIP pictures. I like the actual model but wanted something that would fit the medieval theme a bit better. After all, the Heldrake is a dragon (sort of)!
To build this, I combined parts from the Maulerfiend, WHFB Dark Elves Dragon, WHFB Zombie Dragon, and a lot of green stuff.

...and here he is all finished up!
The Baleflamer is (was?) such a powerful attack that I wanted to represent it on the board. What better way than an undead, nurgley dragon spewing a stream of corruption down on his foes?

Next up are a few Obliterators, marked with Nurgle of course! I salvaged a lot of different stuff in my bits box to assemble these guys. The goal was WSISYG, where each Oblit had EVERY single weapon available to them in the rules.

Always love seeing the crazy stuff other chaos converters come up with and you've got a good imagination.
Gotta say though....no drilled out gun barrels?...

Thanks, Peter Wiggin. Two Things:
1) Awesome name. Long live the Hegemon.
2) I don't know how to drill the barrels.

I suppose it's time to get away from the beasties and show a few regular old marines. Of course, these guys carry the medieval theme as well and are a combination of the basic CSM kit and the WFB Chaos Warriors.

In place of drilling the barrels you can always just paint a black dot in the center to keep the illusion.
Awesome models and insane vision bro!
Your painting is top notch and I love the composition of your stuff! I have seen a lot of nurgle armies done sloppy but not yours, it really looks brilliant! I'd love to play against your army!
61615
Post by: JeffyP
The black dot is a great idea for the gun barrels. I'll go back through and do that throughout the army.

Awesome! Glad I could help! I did the same thing to most of my stuff, it's easier and just as effective as drilling IMO.

Now for some Bloodletters! As with the Plaguebearers, these guys are straight-outta-the-box. No conversions. They're just so cool on their own!

Time for some Chaos Spawn!
I've never been a fan of the spawn kits so I made my own to fit with the medieval theme. However, I wanted to make sure they fit with the Spawn Profile:
1) Fast, mutated beasts
2) Multiwound
3) 40mm bases
4) They must be designed to (in some way) run next to my Juggerlord.
The Juggerlord himself is my huntsman (more on that later) and is accompanied by his trusty pack of dogs/wolves/beasts/things. They typically declare a target at the beginning of the game and commence THE WILD HUNT!
14
61615
Post by: JeffyP
AND NOW, I GIVE YOU...... THE HUNTSMAN!
This is my Khorne Lord. He's has the standard load-out of Mark of Khorne, Axe of Blind Fury, a Juggernaut, and a Sigil of Corruption. He's a CC Beast and I love him to death. Can't remember a game that I didn't field him.
The goal was to (again) retain the medieval theme. The army is primarily green so I needed to keep him green while showing that he's all about Khorne. Figured his armor alone being red does the job. The Axe also had to be over-the-top to have a WSIWYG feel. Finally, I've added heads and skulls to represent the many awesome and unlikely victories he's had. Each has their own memory from my local shop.

Brilliant stuff here whats the Great Unclean One based on?
61615
Post by: JeffyP
Thanks, Llamahead. The GUO is based on Ku'Gath the Plaguefather, a giant Great Unclean One who rides on a massive palanquin.
Mine is made up of a lot of different bits and kits with a LOT of green stuff. The head is actually a Daemon Prince. The arms are from the WFB Dark Elf dragon. The back is a Helbrute. The chassis is the WFB Tomb Kings Warsphinx. The legs are from a third party model company.

The Finished Soul Grinder. Spent weeks converting this guy and RUINED it in an instant by spraying in bad weather. The paint bubbled and fuzzed. Oh well.
Because doesn't much resemble the actual Soul Grinder kit, I tried to capture the essence of the model's rules. This guy rampages up the battlefield grabbing up soldiers with his Iron Claw and throwing them in his soul grinding vat. Their bodies are pushed down the grinder and their souls mix with disease, decay, and nurgle's rot. The finished concoction is then pumped to the cannon and spit out a Daemon's skull (Phlegm Bombardment).
Hope you like it!

MAULERFIEND!
Didn't do a heck of a whole lot to alter this model. It's fantastic as is! Just a few minor conversions to make him fit into the medieval theme. Namely, the running pose. I never have liked the stock pose... too static. After all, these guys are supposed to run headlong, full-speed into the enemy! Also made some alterations to the head, arms, and tail to make him resemble my Chaos Spawn. He's a gigantic, armored wolf to accompany my Juggerlord's fast Spawn unit.

Perhaps the best direct (and perhaps over the top) fit into the medieval theme.... Presenting: The Horsemen!
These guys are my counts-as Chaos Bikers. Can't take credit for the conversion idea, though. There are a lot of these guys floating around the internet. The basic idea is to combine some bits from the CSM Marine kit with the WFB Chaos Knights. Of course, I added my own nurgle flair to them. Looking back, the gas masks weren't sculpted very well but... eh.
These guys are always a blast and usually run up the board fast with THE HUNTSMAN AND HIS WILD PACK.

Here's the Chaos Sorceror on a Bike who accompanies the Nurgle biker pack. He's armed with a Power Axe and bolt pistol. Tried to go over-the-top on the other magic stuff to show he's a spell-slinger.... Giant glowing staff, enchanted skulls, flowing cape and ribbons, enchanted spell book, magic talking daemon sheild, etc. etc. He was a LOT of fun to build.

Here come the Rhinos! I struggled with Rhino conversion ideas for a long time. There's a lot of great inspiration on the web but, ultimately, I really wanted something that immediately shouts "MEDIEVAL BAD GUYS!" Rhinos themselves are extremely boxy, bulky things. Figured "why not make them into castle/chapel thingies?" so here we are.
On the Wild Crusade, we take the church directly to you! Any non-converts are gathered up and, well... you can see them right there on the front. (Which also makes for a nice Dirge Caster visualization.)

Thanks, Edreynaline! It was a little nerve-racking to glue the WFB tombs to the Rhinos... didn't quite look right for a long time. But it turned out pretty good in the end, I think. Just took FOREVER to paint!

Ha crazy I can see the concern however it pulls together well the rhino sort of fits the look due to its boxy shape, but the dead at the front really finishes it of nicely
I had an idea similar to this using the new sisters from the R@H kickstarter, I was going to do a mobile church on the back of a truck using the WFB tombs as a basis kind of an Apoc Nuns gang cleansing the out world of sinners and demons.
Glad to see this concept in action and looks great, thanks I think I have found my motivation

Thanks, guys!
Dirty Dog, you've got to do it now that you've talked about it! I'll hold you accountable. My only recommendation is to pick up the 40k Basilica (or ebay it) for the railings. the WFB tombs are very tall compared to the height of the rhino itself... You can tone that difference down a bit with the front basilica spikes. Just my two cents.
Get to it!

It will be done but I need to find an appropriate truck as it is PA not 40k, however I am going to use the Basilica parts to form part of the church section.
The miniatures won't be released till 2016 unfortunately and that will probably be full of delays but I can make a start on the transportation at least especially with this to guid my creativity

Bloody hell that got abbreviated I am seriously looking for a vehicle that fits the scale and has a good base for it to work and look effective.
I am considering either an old military truck or converted school bus, what is it with nuns and buses all though I am leaning towards the truck as it would have a better support base and area to add the church to.
Maybe I could do both and make the bus an attack vehicle, damn now look what you have done this is going to be a nightmare

Well, it wouldn't be much of a Chaos army without a Daemon Prince, right? Here's DP#1. Affectionately referred to as The Maggot Prince.
He's actually one of my very first conversions (seen in the final few pictures) way back in 2011. Back then I did my best to extend every kit I had. Here, that meant turning a left-over torso and arm bitz into a second Daemon Prince for my then Cthulhu-themed CSM army. As you can see, though, his new incarnation is quite a bit different. New arms, new torso, spine, wings, face, etc. But the bulk of the maggot body is still there.
Hopefully my modelling and painting skills have improved since then!

Thanks, Edreynaline! At first I was planning on using a lot of the Nurgle's Rot green ooze effect but, it just didn't seem quite right... The blood really makes it more gruesome and Nurgley, anyway.

Comments are always appreciated! I'd love to get even more feedback from the community but I'm content to just keep putting my work out there. A new challenger approaches! Daemon Prince #2. Properly known as "The Butcher."
From the minute the Chaos codex was released in 2012, I knew I needed a Daemon Prince with the Black Mace. It's just SO. DAMN. COOL. A daemonic weapon that banishes enemies for failing a toughness test? Yes, please! I wanted to convey this infantry-slaughtering weapon somehow... so I gathered up some old Necrons laying around and, BAM! Black Mace Prince! He flies though the skies (jinking + shrouded!) and takes out entire swathes of infantry. Hence: "The Butcher"!

Just gets better every update that is classic taking out a unit of necrons and a clever way of elevating the model
The only thing I would have liked to have seen was the first necron of impact shattered from the initial blow, but otherwise totally awesome work
61615
Post by: JeffyP
Yeah, I agree about the shattering blow... I tried to show a few of the Necrons being smashed (missing limbs, head, sparks flying, etc.) but it really looks like they're all just being swept up by the massive mace. Oh well.

Criticism is always welcome. I think you were spot on about showing a little more damage. The model is good but it's certainly not perfect! But criticism helps for future models down the road.

Wow! It's fantastic to hear such good feedback. I'm always a bit worried when creating/converting new models that my opponents will cry foul when I put them on the board. Different height, width, LOS, etc., etc. Compliments like these make it easy to keep coming back!

Post by: JeffyP
Well, here he is: Belakor! Although in the Wild Crusade, he's known as "The Lurker in the Shadows."
On the model itself, I tried to convey two things: 1) that he's a Daemon Prince which can F*** things up in CC with his armorbane/fleshbane sword; and 2) that he's a hell of a spell-slinger. Hell pun not intended (though it should have been, dammit).
So, on #1, the base model is clearly a stock Daemon Prince. However, the legs have been cut down and re-positioned in less of a "come at me bro" blocky stance to more of a confident, loose stride forward. Of course, there's also the giant magical sword which screams CC monster. For #2, how the hell do you make a Daemon Prince look magical? Easy! Throw on a wizard's robe! Paint it up in blue/purple (nothing says magic like Tzeentch!) and away we go.

What good would a crusade be if it didn't convert (read: forcefully) some loyal masses? Behold, the converted worshipers of the Wild Crusade! In game, they are zombie cultists. The Wild Crusade "converts" unbelievers by, well, you get the picture.
First I'll show some pictures from a few years back. They began as "Lesser Daemons" in the Chaos Marines 5th Edition Codex. These guys were one of my very first 40k projects in my Cthulhu themed CSM army. The idea was summoned zombies, complete with swirling warp pools as bases. The execution was pretty shoddy.
They sat on a shelf unused for 3 years. Now they've been re-purposed as cultists in my Nurgle-themed CSM force. A little rebasing and re-painting does wonders!

Well... I've made just about everything BUT run-of-the-mill Chaos Space Marines. I hear you, I hear you. Well... Here they are! "The Crusaders." Each Marine is heavily converted from the bits box... sprues from CSM, SM, WFB:Chaos bits, etc. Again, trying to capture the evil medieval knight feel while keeping them true to being space marines. That and CSM are a bit more CHOPPY and SLASHY than their good-guy counterparts.
I've taken a bunch of shots in batches of two so you can see each guy up close. I've also cut each image down to 800 pixels max so load times are easier.
As always, let me know what you think!

Yeah, the lighting was a bit bright when I took the pictures. Oh well.

Thanks, Kid Kyoto. Actually just played in a FLGS tournament yesterday and the list which gave me the most difficulty had a Decimator. He flew Chiraneau and Vader. Each had a bunch of upgrades which ended up giving the decimator 3+ actions every turn. It was brutal. Ended up squeezing out the win with Soontir but with only one hull point left!

Here's the case fully up and running. The fleet is growing but so far only the some imperial ships are fully painted.
There are four trays:
1) Imperial
2) Scum and Rebel
3) Tokens
4) Upgrade Cards
All pilot cards, bases, and other random stuff fit in the top bin.

Well, I'm on to a new project. I've always LOVED Chaos Space Marines and one of the biggest reasons I got into the game was when I saw a Khorne Juggernaut... what's not to love?!? Playing CSM has always left something to be desired. My play style favors fast, hard hitting CC units. I was all about mobility in 5th and 6th Editions (and now EVERYONE is in 7th) and Chaos just never delivered like I wanted.
So it got me thinking... how can a field a whole slew of Juggernauts, build fun conversions, AND have a fast, competitive army? Cue the SPACE WOLVES.
So here we go! I'm staring on a Counts-As Space Wolves Army themed as Dark Mechanicus. Juggernauts are the perfect fit for some counts-as Thunderwolves. Fenrisian Wolves open up possibilies as do Bikers, Dreadnaughts, and Drop Pods. Plus, playing as an Imperial Codex opens up so many conversion options that I never had before: Imperial Knights, Astra Militarium, Adeptus Mechanicus... you name it!

You heard right, ThunderFury. Dark Mechanicus is here!
Here's some shots of initial basing. Going for a ruined city terrain vibe... some cork, plasticard tiles, and random bits. I'll eventually use some PVA glue and sand to finish off the look after models are placed. As you can see, I have a ton of 40mm and Biker bases in the works. Wonder what they could be for?

I'm planning on having two Wolf Lords accompany the slew of Thunderwolf Juggernauts. Working on them concurrently. However, I want the Wolf Lords to stand out, being a bit more significant than mere Thunderwolves. I've been eyeing the WHFB Mortarch ever since they came out last year. I initially planned to update my Wild Crusade Khorne Lord as one of these guys but, well, here we are now.
It's a pretty large model so it may be challenging to fit him on a 60mm base. One will be rearing back on its hind legs like a triumpant general on a horse. The other maybe pouncing down on it's front legs coming down from a leap. Who knows? So without further adieu, some progress shots:

Started working on some Fenrisian Wolves! Used the WHFB Dire Wolves kit, straight outta-the-box. Figured they would have that nice chaosy, grimdark that the Dark Mechanicus needs. Paint the bones in a metal color and give the eyes a nice glow (maybe the rib cages too?) to drive home the "mecahicus" aspect of the daemon-engine-beasts thing.

Thanks, Thunder. I know! They're so much better than the WHFB vampire counts wolves. I had no idea these were so large until I got them in the mail... they're great for Spawn (or Khorne doggies)! Oh well.

Made some progress on the Chaos Knight. He's ready for basecoating.
Hi right arm is fairly set in place, only being able to swap out the front gun and side clip. He'll never do the two CC weapon variant.
The left arm is magnetized at the shoulder so his weapon arm can rotate however looks coolest during the game. Also, I never really liked the "sword IS the arm" thing with Imperial Knights so I converted the fist to be holding a chainsword. Looks a bit more killy to me.

Wow, this is magnificent, I love what you did with the hand held chainsaw, after all you might need to plunge it in an enemy knight, leave it there to punch the bastard some more, and take it back while spraying knight entrails everywhere.
The work on the back is also brilliant, from afar it reminds me of the imperator titan's walking cathedral look.
Great work, will be a pleasure to see how things go from here.

That Knight is certainly a spectacular conversion! Forgeworld's own Chaos Knight looks like a joke compared to this monster. Brilliant!
There's just one thing that I'm not sure about: I am trying to make up my mind as to whether or not your lenthening of the middle section has resulted in slightly messed-up proportions. Now of course the stock Knight hardly has "realistic" proportions to begin with, but maybe you should have lengthened the legs along with the torso...? I am not sure. Any cance of a photo taken from straight on, so one can get an idea of the Knight's "true" proportions?

The turret mount was something that struck me from day one as being needed on a Knight. You don't get a good sense of scale without seeing a human equivalent somewhere on the model. Not sure how I'm going to go for painting the wolves!

Thanks for the feedback and that's a fair critique. I was a bit hesitant to lift him up so much and I may have overdone it in the end. I'll take some shots with a less busy background from a few straight-on angles; hopefully he'll look a bit better.

Sorry to wait so long in giving an update. All the feedback on the Knight has been great but, sadly, I haven't had much hobby time recently. And, to be honest, I've gotten a bit burned out on the project. He's been sitting with just a few colors of paint for weeks now.
HOWEVER, I did finish up another project recently. Never posted pictures of him because--like the Knight--I lost motivation midway through and never finished. But nothing like an upcoming game to push a deadline. We played a Literal 40k game (40,000 ppoints on the table!!!!) and I wanted to use him. Thing is, all models had to be painted! ARGH. So, needless to say I finally finished. Here he is: Fateweaver!

Thanks, guys! I don't post as often as I should... especially with WIP pictures. I just always forget to take photos when I'm in a project!
Anyway, I mentioned having played a 40,000 point game recently. Figured I would share some photos of the massive event. It was 4v4 players, divided along Imperium lines:
Space Wolves w/ Knight Ally
Space Marines (Imperial Fists I think?)
Space Wvoles w/ full Knight Detachment
Dark Angels
v.
Chaos Marines (Nurgle)
Chaos Marines w/ Daemons w/ Orks (ME!)
Orks
Orks
The game was a blast and the good guys (Chaos & Orks) won the day! Well, it was actually 3 days... Gotta give it to JAC Games in Akron, Ohio and especially Chris--the owner--for always throwing down a good time.
Oh, and I just realized in posting these that I never actually posted pictures of my Orks from last Fall. I'll get on that ASAP. A few custom buggies, bikes, and deffkoptas. Along with two never-finished Battlewagons.

Post by: JeffyP
Thanks, Januine. The spinout/mud effect was the first time I'd ever worked with clump foliage. I struggled through a few different attempts using Elmer's glue per online recommendations but just ended with a soggy, gross mess everytime. Ended up just POURING superglue on it. Besides the obvious fume brain damage I received, it also gives the whole model some much needed support at the base.
61615
Post by: JeffyP
What is a Biker/Warboss group without some added support?!? Queue the Painboy! Yay FnP saves!
There are some truly inspired and crazy Painboy bike conversions floating out on the internet. Dakka itself is such a great place! Models range from basic Painboys riding bikes to full blow surgical suite equipped ambulances. I wanted something in-between. Plus, it needed to have a savage, brutal looking operating table complete with crazy surgery mechanisms. An Ork-surgery should probably only be a 20-30% success rate (lieka 5+ FnP roll!)... the doctor just as likely to decapitate the patient as he is to fix him right up. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Alrighty, here come the Buggies! Never liked the buggy or go-kart vibe of the originals and, while there are a ton of great buggy conversions online, I really wanted to do something a bit different. TANKS! These are kind of a hybrid between a got tank and a warbuggy. Think Metal Slug Tank. But with junkyard metal. And rockets. Lots of RED ROCKETS! These were an absolute blast to make. I started with some cheap ATV toys from the dollar store and built up the rest with various Ork bits and plasticard.
There are five in total. Here's number one:

7
61615
Post by: JeffyP
And, last but not least, Buggy Number Five! As you can see, he's not the most polite...
I tried to keep the all five buggies instantly recognizable as buggies while making them a bit more junked up, hobbled together tank vibe that Orks are known for. Each one is different, being a hodge-podge of various rocket bits. Seemed like the Orky thing to do.

Furthermore,i love these! I'm scratchbuilding a buttload of vehicles right now and will probably start a second P&M thread purely because of that - it's why my chaos thread is somewhat dormant currently.
And what paint scheme did you use to get that rustic junkyard effect? Very mad maxy!

Cleatus wrote:What material did you use for the sails?
The sails are made from cardboard GW boxes. Most of the underlying body is as well. The outer layer is plasticard and 40k bitz. I once went to a GW store in Columbus, Ohio to play and was not allowed to use some models. Apparently all models need to be "mostly" GW. So I build with GW boxes now and take pictures before spraying!
Novasetri wrote:Are the ropes made out of greenstuff?
The ropes are craft yarn, just really thin. I also coat them with superglue after tightening them to give them some rigidity.

aaaaaaaaand some Tankbustas! 30 in total. The first batch of ten are pretty straight forward, really just being the rokkits in the regular Boyz kit. (These are the painted ones).
The next 20 are heavily converted. The whole bitz bin came out for these guys!

Well..... I did it.
Presenting: my Counts-As Wolf Lord on a Thunderwolf! He's equipped with a Stormshield, Krakenbone Sword, and two Fenrisian Wolves. The Mortarch really stands out amongst the pack of T-Wolves. Overall, I'm happy with how he turned out.

Time for some (rare on this blog) WIP shots. Working on a group of Wulfen for the Dark Mechanicus. Relatively simple kitbash with CSM heads, though the hair was cut off and replaced.
The fun part of the conversion were the Thunder Hammer / Storm Shield fellas. Used WHFB Chaos Sheilds and the relatively new Wrathmonger kit to make some whirling, wicked looking Thunderhammers. Let me know what you think!

Well, the goal was to post WIP pictures of a single project until it's finished but.... I move back and forth between stuff too much! Letting the Wulfen unit sit for a bit and moving onto their ride: a Land Raider!
I've wanted to use the Lord of Skulls kit for SOOOOO long. Just never had a reason. But these Chaos (read Space Wolves) guys need a pimp ride to get up the battlefield. The original idea for the army had the Chaos Knight as the centerpiece. Now it may be thus puppy (pun intended). Very much WIP.

Well, I have a few weeks of work to catch you guys up on. The most recent project is a hybrid display case and transport solution. I always love looking at my minis when I unpack them at the store to play but very rarely see them otherwise. I DO have a display cabinet in my man-cave but really only use it for my WIP projects... finished stuff goes in foam trays.
Two problems:
1) Foam is a pain in the butt. Especially with bigger and bigger models (my fault, really... I build them too big!)
2) I never see my models and moving them between foam storage and display is a pain.
So I've been playing around with the idea to do a hybrid display cabinet that I can take off the wall and head to the FLGS quickly. Looked around for pre-built cabinets and shadowboxes but ultimately decided to build my own from scratch. A few trips to the store and I wound up with wood, foam, metal sheets, and a TON of magnets. Also purchased a ton of TableWar's tray toppers and rings.
All of my minis will be prominently displayed (and fully magnetized) in a cool, themed display cabinet. I can quickly take them out and put them right on the table. I plan on building three:
1) WILD CRUSADE- Nurgle themed cave with nasty, leaking ooze streams
2) DARK MECHANICUS- City themed, with wreckage and destroyed areas
3) ORKS- Big Mek's shop to highlight all my Battlewagons, Buggies, and Bikes

The top shelf was a bit tricky, needing to combine 20 25mm bases (Daemons) and 3 large 600mm bases (Fateweaver and 2 Daemon Princes). I had to layer the metal on top of the TableWar trays and then put the Washers on top. With some plaster filler, hopefully it will look nice.

The build is done, finally. All the plaster is complete and it's ready for a base coat this weekend. I used the WFPB tree kit to make roots throughout the background as well as some dangling from each level. Toothpicks and plaster were used for stalactites.

There are a lot of models in the Wild Crusade that couldn't fit on the shelves. To get around this, I hid two metal plates in the very top for them all to stick to. They'll be hidden by top cave wall (but at least I'll have them if needed at the store!)

I really appreciate it!
Just put on the door yesterday. Had to cut down a sheet of acrylic to the right size which was a pain. Mounted it with hardware from Lowes. Didn't turn out quite as nice as I wanted but it was a heck of a learning experience. The second cabinet (for my Chaos Wolves) will be that much better.
Also loaded up the cabinet with the whole army. Not everything is magnetized yet but we're almost done!

JeffyP, your armies are themselves amazing, but that display board has me
What a perfect idea. Have you considered attaching heavy wire to the back of the display board in order to hang it upon a wall when it is not being transported? Or possibly even having it sitting on a bookshelf/table for added stability with the hangers to fasten it to a wall? One accidental nudge could be devastating. Anyways, fantastic work, and I cannot wait for more!

Hahah thanks. Yeah, the shelves are pink foam plus a layer of sheet metal and then plastic tray toppers. Spackle paste on top and then a layer of sand and white glue. The whole thing is surprisingly strong. You can see pictures above where the first shelf held up two giant law books.

I've just about completed the cabinet and am now thinking about where exactly to hang it up in my gaming room. Then it hit me: I've never posted photos of my gaming room! So, here we are.
We moved to our current house two years ago. My lovely wife decided that I could have the entire walk-out basement for myself. YES! Until we moved here, I was always confined to a single desk or area to do all of my hobbies and work. Well, now I can spread out! I have a computer desk for gaming and work. A hobby desk for model building (and sometimes painting). A coffee table (with lamp) that I usually paint at where I can also have the TV on right in my line of sight.
In the back I have our old kitchen table for my gaming. My neighbor and I play a lot of Xwing here. There are two display cases though I'm not a huge fan of the tall glass one. Just too much in there! Also, you can see my dog, Petey.

You have a beautiful space there! Very jealous. It's amazing too that it's above-ground and not a basement, there's so much natural lighting it looks like it'd be amazing to play there. As a neat-freak I also see that you keep it very tidy and organized, that gets a huge from me!
As for a place to hang it up as much as it pains me to say this I think it'd look best right where you have that Watchmen picture. The pain of not enough wall-space is all too real for any collector

That is an amazing setup you have there (as well as a very kind wife)! Your desk in particular is fantastic. Like Inevitable_Faith, I think it would look best where the Comedian is hanging. On the one hand, the converted Wulfen don't do much for me: The models are just so inherently goofy that not even your valiant efforts manage to redeem them in my eyes But whoa, that Dreadnought! That is some spectacular work indeed -- I especially love how you've managed to give him a humanoid, but also subtly bestial, quality. In fact, I cannot help wondering what he would look like with a longer neck emerging from that cowling around his head and a juggernaut (or even Maulerfiend) head. But anyway, stellar work on that beast!

JeffyP wrote:Well, I'm on to a new project.
Some of you may remember that I started my Chaos Wolves (Dark Mechanicus) back in June 2015. What finally sealed the deal for me were Juggernauts. They've always been my favorite model and when Khorne Daemonkin was released without them (besides HQs) I finally gave up hope of ever fielding them en masse. If a dedicated Khorne book doesn't have Marines riding Juggernauts and/or Bloodcrushers, then what book will?!? NONE I TELL YOU! NONE!
Anyway, that was the final straw. Chaos wouldn't let me field an army of my dreams so I had to look elsewhere. Space Wolves Thunderpuppies were a rough equivalent so here we are.... I give you, my Chaos Thunderwolves. Six Total: two units of three each. Two Powerfists/Storm Shields and one barebones guy.

-2 Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves (Giant Mortarchs to separate them from normal Thunderwolves)
-7 Thunderwolves
-2 Iron Priests on Thunderwolves
-8 Cyberwolves
-20 Fenrisian Wolves
-6 Wolfguard Bikers
-Murderfang

Made some progress yesterday and this morning. The bottom shelf will hold the 6 Wolf Guard Bikers and 16 Fenrisian Wolves. Got the TableWar trays and glued in and just finished spackling around everything. Once that dries, I'll add plasticard tiles, bits, and sand.
Of all the lessons learned while making the first cabinet (for the Wild Crusade), perhaps the most important was how much easier it would be to do work on each level by itself. Finish the whole thing before putting up the next shelf.

Thanks, STG. Made some progress on him. Even after finishing up all the armor joints and mechanical bits, he still looked a bit short. I wanted this Ghaz model to be GHAZ! A GIANT FREAKING ORK!
Plus, when taken in the Ork-curion detachment, Ghaz can call a Waagh each and every turn so I wanted something to capture that on the model itself. Thus, A GIANT FREAKING WAAGH BANNER! Orks across the entire battlefield become fearless when they see Ghaz charging with his giant banner aflame.
