Yep. Another epic plog. I found these guys in a cardboard box (not even kidding! ) and decided, because regular muhreens and boring, to go with the Sons of Malice because ALL THE PROXIES! I've painted them on their sprues, and that helped quite a bit. I'm also looking for the normal rectangle bases. I have some from chaosorc, but they are way too tall for my liking. What should I add next?

It's not bad, actually. My Sons are quite easy, as it's 2-3 colors. My bugs use washes though. Getting the right amount is so HARD!

Maybe worth holding back a bit on Troublemaker proxy terminators because Troublemaker proxy terminators are on the way.....

So to explain part of their last Indiegogo campaign was an expansion to their range of Legion Elites or true scale Space Marines and included characters, Marines on Quad Bikes and Terminators. They should be on the website sometime soon.

Not quite proxies but Aoshima do a set of 1/700 vehicle weapons add one of the turrets and 2 of the AA machine guns to a plastic rhino and it works well.

Nicely done sir. I like that you took the time and effort to do the boltguns they are carrying. To me, its the little details on Epic miniatures that make them so fun to look at.

Im thinking of changing the metals to gold, as that seems to be a thing for the sons, as well as breaking up the monochromeancy.

I think that is an excellent idea if you can make it work. More baroque looking weapons would certainly give them a bit of flair.

I kinda like em as they are, the three colour scheme looks great, I think adding gold would be a but much. BUT.... If you do decide to add gold to the marines you should do the rhino exhausts in gold too to match!

But I do think they look really good as is, the will look smashing on the table!

I found a basing guide for regular 40k (eeeew ) and it may very well be steel legion drab.

Why not coat the bases in white then apply an earth wash?

Speaking of basing... I'm using a new technique in which i put super glue on the base and cover it in baking soda. This makes it dry almost instantly and gives it a cool texture!

So this guy will be a feral, I'm using shoulder pads from the chaos marine set to give him (it?) that hunched and rounded look that the mars and older patter warhounds have, but with chaos iconography because yay. The legs are tartaros termainator legs from FW, and if you want to do what I will I dont think regular termy legs would fit (literally, physically fit) on the assault marine body. Enough rambling, here's the bits!



Also, I dont really like the old Space Marines nor do I have many and I've been eyeing up Troublemaker's novan line. I'll be using those guys for leaders and terminators, and maybe, just maybe, tacticals. Does anybody have any pics of those with, say, rhinos, so I can get a look at how they fit with the general 40k aesthetic?

Pose looks a bit to upright and rigid for a Warhound but it's gelling fairly well.

Great stuff so far dude. The Titan is coming along, but I have to agree with Llamahead. He looks just a tad too upright.

That's the only way I could balance him! greenstuff and glue will fix that!

I would suggest removing the remains of the Imperial eagle on the Marine torso, and if possible swapping the feet for something else.

You may already be planning to do this, but running power cables from the weapons and head to the torso might also help disguise the Marine shape.

Yep, I'm actually working on the eagle right now. The cable idea sounds nice!

Also, if I make a second one, I may use the new plastic Cataphractii legs. Hell, I may even make a titan legion with em! They're so good, and quite cheap. So that's nice.

I actually thought the Skitarii Rust Stalkers would make an awesome base as well!

Oh my god llama yes! I own some and theyre quite small, so that may be a bit skinny for a titan, but I may try that.

Ok so this is a bit of an aside. I hate the gw Space Marines. Like even more than the VC zombies (Nevermind not that much). Theyre much too static. So ive gone and ordered some Novan Elites from Vanguard (the new stockist for TMG) as well as some termy proxies. The remaining gw ones will get some love in the form of champions. Just a little update. More titany goodness coming later today, time permitting.

I've just stuck him one with some GS and scored it a bit to make it more mechanical. Some bulking on his back may be needed, but I dunno. That's all I can do today with him. So yea...

It looks good but it could still do with a hunched hunting posture which is a key element of all the Warhound designs.

Regarding the group shot, I only have a few rhinos done and I'll be replacing the marines with those from TMG, so no group shot for now.

And regarding the pose, I think that's a limitation of the terminator legs, which are quite upright as you can see. It's the top three, with the clawed feet, which I think are VERY warhound-y and the poses are great.

So I've been preoccupied with a certain game...
BUT I'M BACK BITCHES!

Ok, so it's cold, so no spraypainting, which means I had to pick up some Imperial Primer. I've primed my objective marker and it's almost dry.



It's not as black as I thought it would be, but I care more about the actual medium than the color.

I also found a cool back to the titan's guns:

Great work so far. The ammunition feed for the back of the guns look brilliant. And the objective marker is a nice addition.

Right, so I'm painting up the titan, but I have a question. Should I use gold paint for the trim? I see it a lot in SoM art, but I know it's not canon and I feel like it looks too Black Legion-y. Any thoughts on this? He should be done by the end of the weekend by the way!

If you can limit the black/gold contact areas, you should be fine regarding the BL look.

I also don't currently own any gold paint and it's like 2 ft of snow. I think I'll stick with silver/iron colors!

Oh. Well in that case is probably Tzeentch's will for you to not put gold on it ^^ ! Silver Iron will do properly mechanical anyway.

I got my DRM order and made some new objective markers! Daemons and Hellblades primed, and one more wash on the titan needed!

So I've gotten a stand of daemons done. Not much to say about em, just a quick drybrush.

At first, you just appreciate cool miniatures, but then you automatically try to compare with the well known 28mm scale and holy frak, these a big ! For example, these demons you posted before, the are the size of major demons right ? And these bastards come in squads, that's pretty cool i'd say !

So, what's next for the Sons ?

Yea... my daemon proxies are a bit too big, but it's fine seeing as my ACTUAL greater daemon will be based off of either a bloodletter or crypt ghoul seeing as greater daemons are really THIS SIZE:

- Holy gak vanguard is taking forever to ship mah termies!

So I got bored and decided to make an icon bearer and get a concept for havoks. I'm really happy with how these turned out and will get to making more havoks and one more icon bearer ASAP!

My thoughts exactly! The only real issue is with infantry because finding a good basing scheme that doesnt hide the white or black can be a bit tricky, but I think I got it. Just waiting on my bases from EW (EW is back!!!!!)
