NOW LIVE!!!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/524168246/deepwars-blood-reef
Full disclosure - I LOVE DeepWars and ShadowSea (built on the Song of Blades and Heroes Engine) and AntiMatter Games puts out some fantastic miniatures too.
I'm psyched to see them still going, and launching a new KS!
And there are KEV ADAMS and BOB OLLEY stretch goals too!
Update #57

Upcoming Kickstarter Project - "DeepWars - Blood Reef"

Hi backers. Thanks for all your support these last few months. I appreciate your patience on all of the stretch goals, and now that those are done, I'm happy to say that AntiMatter Games will be launching a new Kickstarter for the DeepWars supplement "DeepWars - Blood Reef" in March. The focus of the Kickstarter is the introduction of a new mercenary force, the Nereids of Blood Reef, with the goal of funding the warband starter set of four Nereid miniatures, the Beast of Blood Reef, a shark warbeast for the force, and a savage male Nereid berserker, along with the Blood Reef campaign supplement. We have already started on the miniatures, with one completed, the Nereid Guardian of the Reef, by Paolo Fabiani, shown below. Also completed is the awesome Beast of Blood Reef, by Bob Olley.
All of the Nerieds are amphibious beings, created by ancient Axibalan sorceresses through mixtures of humans and ethereal sea serpents, relatives of the ethereal dragons founds deep in stygian caverns, so they can actually be used in land adventures in ShadowSea as well as DeepWars. They are unpredictable beings though, so using them can be tricky if they decide their employers are causing harm to their realm.
In addition to the main goals, we are also launching rules updates to both DeepWars and ShadowSea to version 2.5, which introduces more combat options, streamlined handling of armor and wounds, and adds new tournament and campaign rules. Models will have tarot-sized game cards with descriptions of each special ability, weapon effect and tech item effect. This makes the game much easier to pick up for beginners and faster to play. All of the cards are now done and just being edited before printing. The rules edits are also done and only being re-checked to clean up any typos. We also have Spell Cards in progress so each spellcaster has a card with all of the available spells and their effects.
Here is a Jpeg of the new quickstart rules (front and back) to get a feel for the changes.

Stretch goals include Sea Goblins, little monsters that are useful to surround enemies. These are already scheduled for sculpting by Kevin "Goblinmaster" Adams.

Other stretch goals are the Cephalid Ethermancer along with the Thotag Crab and proto-race of Yosoth, nasty ethereals to summon and cause havok to enemies. We may add more depending on funding. Bob Olley is targeted for the Ethermancer.

Keeping in mind that these will all be metal and/or resin, so set your pricing expectations accordingly.
As DW and SS are firmly set as skirmish games, it works quite well for them, but going 'counts as' elsewhere can lead to sticker shock.
Unless you mean 'only' as leaders/character types?

I am all over that Cephalid Ethermancer! I think I've picked up all of their previous Cephalids, they're really brilliant! Although the oldest ones are a bit smaller (the newer models are quite uniform).
Pics of a few Deep Wars models Ramos Asura has painted up for me . Folks should definitely consider this even if they don't play Deep Wars, the models are brilliant!

Yea, I mainly though of them as models for characters. Mantic produce a plastic kit for two of the basic troops (Naiad enstarers/heartpiercers) but almost nothing else so characters is one of the things most needed. That said, depending on size, those mermaid ladies could be used as one of the bigger sized units such as wyrmriders, where 2-6 models is enough for 1-2 units, making up a god chunk of the army so it's not too bloody if they cost a fair bit per model.

Do we have a date for Blood Reef? Or am I just blind and not seeing it in the announcement?
I rather like the idea of goblin sharks as actual goblins. I'm curious to see what the ether creatures are going to look like.

I've never been clear on the difference between ShadowSea and DeepWars. Is it a situation like Warmachine and Hordes where the games are set in the same world but focus on different aspects of that world or are they completely different games?

As far as I can tell, the difference is that Deepwars is underwater while Shadowsea is on dry land. Both share the same setting and certain units can be used in either ruleset.

That's pretty much it!
Many units that will work in Deep Wars (The Beast of Blood Reef (shark) shown here) but are clearly NOT OK in ShadowSea, for example!

I'll probably go in on this one to get one of the physical rulebooks. If there's a good deal on figures as well, that'll just be an extra bonus. They've been previewing a few of the new sculpts on Facebook. There's more than just the mermaids planned for this. They've shown a Fortune Hunter Engineer, who looks almost like a deep sea diver version of a Techmarine, and they've shown a medic for the Ancients of Atalan.

More previews, via the AntiMatter Games Facebook page! So any infos when the KS will launch in march? Will it be eu backer friendly? So we don´t have to mess around with paying customs? AntiMatter Games wrote:...It is looking like mid-to-late March, as we want to have more sculpting ready to show before starting. Things are looking good so far on that front. In terms of customs charges, we are working on that.

It's a little difficult to descern what minis are in the starter sets, and google isn't helping me. I wonder if they could modify their graphics to put a little icon next to the minis that are already in the starter sets?
They might also want to change their project tag to "tabletop games" rather than just "games", as it is not showing up in the "tabletop games" list.

ShadowSea 2.5 is part of this project also, and we have already completed all of the ShadowSea cards in tarot size as well. We just need to do more playtesting and editing, but the card layout are done.
In terms of selling them. Normally, there is just a per-card charge or 25 cents for normal size cards/ Tarot cards cost double the amount to produce, so I would guess 40-50 cents per card. We can do per-force, full sets or whatever people want. It probably will not be an official pledge option here. Maybe just an add-on later.

Our main retailer in the EU is Battlefield Berlin, who carry all of the new releases right now. We don't have a warehouse in the EU though, so shipments from there are not possible. We looked into fulfillment services but they are problematic when there are so many possible items to ship. We try to give options of padded envelope shipping, which reduces cost a lot for a few miniatures and cards.

Battlefield Berlin is great! Buying from them help us too, and keeps DeepWars and ShadowSea going in the EU.
AnitMatter games is a great company, and their games are a lot of fun - I'm all for anything that helps them out!

Yes. But its a little more of additional content of the world, as well. not just about different factions. they all interrelate.
Great game by the way. Amazing sculpts and a solid compnay7 who has a real eye for great sculpts.
Reapers underwater range works well with them, as well as your aquarium terrain.

The trogs are significantly smaller and slighter than the lizardmen. The website indicates the trogs are 32mm to top of head, and 35mm to eye on ridgebacks. A buddy has some, if he gets back in town before this ends, I'll take some pics.

Anti-Matter games models are a class act. Highly imaginative, characterful, and, most importantly, just plain cool to look at. Some of my favorite Olley work has come out of this line.
This campaign has convinced me that I need to sell off a large chunk of my miniatures collection - the vast majority of it, in fact - so I can justify getting behind projects like this one.
Incidentally, Alpharius and any other fans of the games, which one do you prefer? Shadow Sea or Deepwars?
72319
Post by: highlord tamburlaine
I prefer Shadowsea from a bookkeeping perspective- I don't have any of those cool fancy depth stands for Deep Wars, which is what has kept me from really trying it. Plus it's all on land, so a bit easier to manage. The depth system is one of the cooler aspects of DeepWars though...
Then again, Barzam's got his Dark Mariner kick going on, so I know I've at least got one local opponent with a painted force ready to play.

I'm a DeepWars man first, mostly, but I do love ShadowSea too! They're both just really fun games that are easy to get into, easy to 'start small' and easy to expand!
Update #1
Mar 16 2016
First Day Complete!
Hi all,
So far, the first day has been great! We are 3/4 of the way to funding and on our way.
One thing that could change soon is possibly unlocking the Cephalid Ethermancer early, making it available now instead of a stretch goal. Bob Olley finished the sculpting early and it will be in hand and ready to cast very soon. If this happens, the new game mats would move to 14K for the stretch goal.
We're also working out a way to produce paper miniatures of the multitude of Wild Sea Creatures that can be summoned in the reef zone. Here is a sneak peek at one of them, the basic shape of a Beast of Kronos. Paper miniatures are interesting in that people can just get the PDF and print as many as needed. This is good since there are 15 main wild sea creatures that can be acting on their own, hunting players, or summoned by a Sea Shaman. We'll give more info soon once the final prototype is done of the Beast of Kronos.
As far as other Terrain types, there are a scenic terrain pieces in DeepWars that are not made yet. They tend to be a bit pricey when cast in resin but would look great if done.
Would you all be interested in these below? They could be added as additional "mini-stretch goals" between the other ones.
Coral Reef Sections - sculpted in the detailed style of the base of the Beast of Blood Reef. This would be much higher detail than anything you can get a pet shop. An outcropping section 120 mm long would be $16 / 2 points.
Doom Clam - A giant clam with a big appetite and bad attitude. Models coming close to these are in danger of being eaten, although there is often treasure scattered around them. The Doom Clam would be 3 times larger than the one below, big enough to hold an entire 30mm mini. It would be in the $24 / 3 point price area.
Giant Soft Coral - These are like large underwater "trees" that make good cover during battle. These would be in the $24 / 3 point price range.
Whale Carcass - This is for the Deep Abyssal Zone only, and is when a dead whale sinks to the bottom and makes a nice home for masses of vile hagfish and an attractant for sharks. This would be quite large and probably in the $50-$60 range. There would be a mixture of skeletal parts, flesh and innards along with the hagfish.

More terrain!
And that Beast of Kronos would make a nice 'miniature'!

And Updated!
Update #2
Mar 17 2016
Almost funded!
We are only a few hundred away from being funded. To add some incentive, a few more stretch goals have been added. These are scenic terrain that will be cast in resin.
First are 30mm diameter treasure markers, which are an important part of the scenarios. These are placed on the map and when a model spends one action, it can roll to determine what it finds. These will be a set of 4, using two main sculpted markers. They will have crystals, gold coins, artifacts, corals and sea life on them.
Next up is the massive whale carcass. This deadly bit of scenery will be about 240mm in length and presents cover on the seafloor of the deep Abyssal Zone off the edge of Blood Reef. It is covered in giant hagfish that attack models touching it.
Last is the Doom Clam, massive bivalve of the reef that is large enough to suck in unwary divers and crush them to a gory pulp. It often has treasure scattered around it or inside of it from its meals.
As for the paper miniatures for wild sea creatures, we are making progress there also. Here are some images from the concept art and prototype shapes.

And Update #3 is "Backer Only" and contains a preview of the 2.5 rules for DeepWars and ShadowSea!
68139
Post by: Barzam
Design-wise, my preference is for Deepwars. I like the designs of the diving gear and the factions unique to Deepwars are visually more interesting than those from Shadowsea. For rules though, I'd go with Shadowsea since it's a bit simpler. Since I have Dark Mariners though, I'm cool either way since almost their entire line can be used in either game with only a few units not usable in Shadowsea.

That sounds about right Alpharius.
"Prince" Highlord is all about early sea life, which is odd that he isn't acting a lot more demanding about where my pledge is currently going. Kid was constantly asking for updates during the Draconid campaign.
At least "Princess" Highlord has given her blessing for the Nereids. They may not have red hair and sing, and they aren't Shopkins or Ponies, but we'll make her a willing participant yet!
Debating if I want that whale carcass... if it can get some use in other games that aren't under the ocean, I'll really be tempted.
Especially if it nets us some new hagfish sculpts too... or a swarm base of them to send out if people get too close...

Also added are bonus points for 100 backers and for reaching 14000. Hopefully we can keep moving ahead and getting more backers. To entice some more people, a $5 reward was added for just the PDF files of the DeepWars rulebook, Blood Reef supplement and the painting guide.

Triton Berserker Unlocked!
We've crossed the 10K threshold now and unlocked the Triton Berserker, a large male warrior of the Nereid tribe. This figure will be on a 40 or 50mm base (TBD based on the sculpt) and will be a bit larger than the female Nereids. These warriors will be the heavy shock troops of the force, able to go into berserk fury and get a bonus to activation as well as a bonus with combat rolls when berserk. They are also Savage, causing additional wounds and often causing a Gruesome Kill to enemies, a death that instills panic among allies of the victim. Finally, they move with the Long stick and are able to close distance quickly with enemies.

Nice unlock there!

Update #10
Mar 21 2016
Added new stretch goals
Hi all,
We've made it past some stretch goals so some new ones were added and one was unlocked and move to the regular reward section. First, the Cephalid ethermancer was unlocked and placed as a regular reward. The figure is already sculpted and on its way.
Next, we added the paper miniatures we've been hinting at. These are done by Brave Adventures and come as a PDF file so you can make as many as you need. The add-in cost is $5 but any backers $45 and up get it for free.
We also added in two more Nereid personality models, Amatheia - Caller of the Deep and Icthelion, Lord of the Seas. These will be very large resin models with a ton of detail

I know they've said that many of those paper minis would be too big/too expensive to make as actual miniatures, but I'd pay up to 'quite a bit' for a Beast of Kronos (Kronosaurus) model!
Update #11
Mar 21 2016
Some more info on paper minis.
The paper miniatures are an exciting addition to DeepWars. The game has a lot of wild sea creatures that can roam the map or actively hunt down players. They can also be summoned by a Sea Shaman to fight for a warband. We did not have miniatures for these as it would take a massive project just to produce them, but in the end they would be very expensive due to the sheer size of many of them. So the paper models are a cost-effective way to get lots of wild sea creatures on the game board. They do cost a good bit to produce, so we have to do them in sets.
The first set will cover the Shallow Shelf zone of DeepWars.
Beast of Kronos (Kronosaurus) - 160 mm with a base 80mm long and 50mm wide.
Blacktip Whaler Shark (reef Shark) - 40mm long, 10-15mm tall. base 30mm
Euripterid Sea Scorpion - 60mm long (full length). base 50mm
Giant Devilfish (huge Pacific octopus) - maybe 80mm wide, 50mm base.
Giant Marine Crocodile (giant saltwater croc) - 150 mm with a base 80mm long and 50mm wide.
Gray Pointer Shark (great white shark - mixed with bull shark) - 100 mm long, base 50mm
Leviathan Shark (whale shark) - 150mm long, base 80mm long and 50mm wide.
Lion's Mane Jelly (as the name) - 80mm tall and thick, on a 40mm base.
Orthocone (as the name) - Long and skinny - 120 mm length, 50mm base
Razor-Jaw Fish-Lizard (plesiosaur - see link https://mir-s3-cdn-cf.behance.net/project_modules/hd/a37ba324679089.5604aaaf35d6e.jpg) 80mm long 40mm base
Ravenous Cordoba Squid (Humboldt squid) 40mm long, 30mm base
Ridgehead Leviathan (Sperm Whale) - curved so not too big 225 mm long, base 110 mm long and 60 mm wide.
Sharptooth Dolphin - 40mm long, 30mm base
Sharptooth Dolphin Pack Leader - 45mm long, 30mm base
Stonebreaker Crab - 60mm wide, 50mm base.

Having big huge thick cardboard tokens would be awesome, but I have no idea what it would entail to get something like that printed. Maybe thick cardstock glued to some kind of dense material?
Would love to hear some input on this to get maximum usage out of this stretch goal.

My plan is to get them printed on photo paper at Office Depot or Staples or somewhere like that. I did that with my spaceship map, it should work for these, too.

That's a good idea!
I was just going to print them on thick cardstock and then glue them to thicker cardstock, but I like your plan better!

After skipping Shadow Sea for lack of Atalan, I'm back in for this.
Backed for the Shark level for now. Will likely add some rulebooks, maybe the Atalan Medic.
And maybe a dead whale.
And some coral.
And those sea creatures.
...this may get expensive.

The tentative plans for the other force characters is to add more troops, not personalities, except for the Scaly Horde, who need a cheap Leader.
Fortune Hunters - Corsair, Wreck Hunter
Dark Mariners - Vanguard Scout, Siren Maneater
Ancients Of Atalan - Mech Swarm, Stealth Trooper
Scaly Horde - Dagathonan Reef Lord, Gark Brute

If we can chew through the Nereids, we can get to those "reinforcements".
There are also a few more main units for the Nereids, a few warbeasts. These will eventually become miniatures, but maybe we can unlock them if we can get into the 30's. There are a lot of things to get sculpted though.
Sea Serpent - long and poisonous
Silver Death - xiphactinus ancient fish (fast for moving attacks)
Giant Mantis Shrimp - A vicious creature
Stretch goals changed up too - moving the Nereids up.

Stretch goals and some concepts
So we have now gone one week into the project and passed a few stretch goals. Hopefully we can make some more progress soon. There is a $14000 goal that give one more free point for those backers above $100.
Fitting in between there we now have some coral reef sections.
Here are some concepts for other potential stretch goals, the summonable etheral Thotag Crab and Proto Spawn of Yosoth. Both can be summoned by the Cephalid Ethermancer to fight for the Dark Mariners. The question is where to put them in the stretch goal list.

This game has always caught my eye because the models are beautiful and it's so different from everything else thematically. Love the undersea theme. Love skirmish games. Does anyone play? Is it fun? Can I watch some battle reports anywhere?

Next stretch goal at 14K
We just crossed 13K and are nearing the next stretch goal at 14K that will give backers over $100 a bonus point for a mini or other item.
In addition, we have shifted the new Nereids down so they come sooner. The next unlock is Amatheia - Caller of the Deep, a leader of warbeasts and wild sea creatures. This will be a set of two models, the hammerhead shark and Amatheia herself. She can hold onto the shark's dorsal fin to get a bonus to movement and defense or can roam free. The shark will be about a 10 footer, so not a massive shark like the Beast of Blood Reef but still substantial.
Also, we got some new art for the Doom Clam to replace the quick sketch. It will be a good sized bit of resin scenery, big enough to swallow a couple of 30mm models.
Lastly, the Sea goblins are coming along great. Kev Adams is making them look nice and vicious.

This is very alluring. They even have some undersea play mats available.
To think of the attention this would get a game store, the capacity to bring in new players. I wish, I wish, I wish upon a fish I could grab some of this.

Cordoba Squid added as stretch goal

We are close to 15K, so a new stretch goal has been put there for the Ravenous Cordoba Squid, one of the wild sea creatures from the Shallow Shelf zone. These are deadly predators, able to dart in an bite with a powerful beak and then jet away in a cloud of ink. They can be summoned by a Sea Shaman to join a warband or can appear in a scenario as a predator hunting the weakest or injured models of all warbands.
Also added in new artwork for the whale carcass to replace the sketch.

To sweeten the Gamemaster pledge, it now includes 10 points of miniatures instead of 8. This is shown in the project text and the Gamemaster pledge image but not in the pledge info at the right side as that text is not editable.
Hopefully we can navigate through the midpoint of the project and then pick up some more momentum soon, then unlock some the of the new Nereids.

New pledge level
We have added a new pledge level, the Gamemaster Ultra for those that want to get all of the starter sets and 40 points of miniatures or other items for $450. Its a mess of goodies for a better per-point value.
For comparison, - here are per-point values when shipping is included.in calculations. For USA, shipping is already in the pledge. International always has extra shipping. The points below include the 2 free ones we have unlocked so far.
Battle set - 17 points
$7.65 per point (US) $8.53 per point (Int)
Gamesmaster - 31 points
$7.42 per point (US) $8.23 per point (Int)
Gamesmaster Pro - 49 points
$6.53 per point (US) $7.45 per point (Int)
Gamemaster Ultra - 73 points
$6.15 per point (US) $6.85 per point (Int)
The Cordoba Squid has been unlocked now and we are also really close to unlocking the next stretch goal at 16K, Icthelion - Lord of the Seas.

Tempted by that new pledge level - if I hadn't recently spent too much (again!) on Mierce Darklands stuff...

Now unlocked is the imposing Icthelion, Lord of the Seas, a Sea Shaman that can summon wild sea creatures to fight for the Nereid force. Icthelion is the largest of the Nereids and will be a resin casting on a 50mm base.

EU Friendly & Paper Beast of Kronos sample
Hi all,
We're in the middle of the slow period of the project, something that happens in all Kickstarters, but there is some recent news on shipping. We have been working on EU-friendly shipping and have an agreement with Gamesquest to handle fulfillment from the UK. We also can work with Battlefield Berlin on a few shipments as well. So with those two methods of shipping the in EU, we will have people covered so they will not have to pay for VAT or other fees when their shipment arrives.
Also, we are still working on the paper miniatures with Brave Adventures. They have just made a sample PDF of the Beast of Kronos, which can be downloaded by clocking on the picture below. They'll be sending this out to their mailing list so hopefully that will draw a few backers to the project. Please send this to anyone you think might be interested.
Last, we are working on some concepts for the stretch run at the end. The next few include (not in any order yet).
Giant Mantis Shrimp
Sea Serpent
Silver Death (Xiphactinus fish)
Siren Maneater
Dagathonan Reef Lord

Kalypso beckons & new concepts
We are so very close to Kalypso now, the next stretch goal at $18K. She has skill with bio-technology and is able to use some of the strange creations of the Clal-Chk as deadly weapons with poisonous and corrosive effects..
Coming soon are more stretch goal. One will be the Dagathonan Reef Lord for the Scaly Horde. This warrior carries a giant crab shell for a shield and wears bits of crab and lobster armor. It is a medium-point Leader model for the Scaly Horde, to give players options if they do not want to use Cthan.
Next we have the Siren Maneater for the Dark Mariners. This one is similar to the other siren, having an ability to lure in unwary victims, but she has poisonous talons and fangs that can paralyze and kill those within in her embrace. She is particularly deadly to humans.
Next are two warbeasts for the Nereid force, the Sea Serpent and Silver Death. The Sea Serpent is a monstrous relic of an ancient time, part ethereal dragon and part giant snake, created by Axibalán sorceresses. It has highly toxic venom and can wrap it coils around foes. The Silver Death is a vicious and unpredictable fish of up to 20 feet in length. It moves at extreme speed, slashing at victims and tearing off body parts.
Also a deadly warbeast is the Giant Mantis shrimp, a monstrous 10-foot custacean with spear-like arms (or striking club arms) that hunts for the Nereids.
Last, we are getting one more bonus goal of +1 points to those pledging $100 or more if we can reach 200 backers. So spread the word and let's try to reach this goal.

Good stuff!

Game cards for each miniature are being upgraded for version 2.5 as well. They will be tarot sized (4.75 by 2.75 inch), giving more room to include all of the descriptions of Special Abilities, Weapons, Armor and Tech Items. This means much less referencing the rulebook and faster gameplay for all.

Final Week - Stretch Goals and WIP sculpting
Hi all!
We are in the final week of the project, and have unlocked the latest stretch goal, Kalypso, the Hidden One. She will be sculpted by Paolo Fabiani along with the other Nereids.
Paolo has been sculpting the other Nereids, making progress on Cymopoleia, the Nereid Sorceress. Here is a WIP so far.
Kevin Adams is chewing through his goblins and is almost done with the Sea Goblin Poacher, the next stretch goal at $19500. These are all around 25 mm tall, little but dangerous. They are turning out really well, so if people like them we may need to expand the goblin roster with elite troops in fish-scale armor, a sea troll, a fat sea goblin lord and a sea hag.
As a bonus,
Additionally, the reef vinyl mat is now unlocked and available as a regular add-on. This will come in 24"x24" and 36"x36" sizes. Also unlocked is the Ethereal Proto-Spawn of Yosoth for the Dark Mariners.
Finally, Some new stretch goals have been added, including the wicked Siren Maneater for the Dark Mariner force, the Dagathonan Reef Lord for the Scaly Horde and a Sea Serpent Warbeast for the Nereids
There are still a few main troops for the Blood Reef supplement, but most are unlocked. The new troops for the other forces will come next. If people really want, we may add some new goblinoids and maybe some other warbeasts or creatures.
Nereid Troops & Personalities:
1. Cymopoleia - Nereid Sorceress
2. Eidothera - Nereid Captain
3. Nereid gaurdian of the reef
4. Nereid Treasure seeker
5 Triton Berzerker
6. Amatheia - Caller of the Deep
7. Icthelion, Lord of the Seas
8. Kalypso, the Hidden one
9. Sea Goblin sawblade warrior
10. Sea Goblin Spear hunter
11. Sea Goblin Poacher
Warbeasts:
12. Beast of Blood Reef
13. Sea Serpent - long and poisonous
14. Silver Death - xiphactinus ancient fish (fast for moving attacks)
15. Giant Mantis Shrimp - A vicious creature
Other Forces - Reinforcements (names may change)
Fortune Hunters
1. Corsair
2. Wreck Hunter
Dark Mariners
1. Vanguard Abyssal Ranger
2. Siren Maneater
Ancients Of Atalan
1. Mech Swarm
2. Stealth Soldier

This one will be unlocked at $19500, so we are really close.
I really want Kevin to sculpt more of these, so I hope people like the Sea Goblins so far.

Last few days - new stretch goals
So here we are in the last few days of the project. There are some new stretch goals, as the Goblin Poacher has been unlocked. One important one is the new bonus point goal at $25000, where backers from $100 - $229 get 1 point and those at $230 or more get 2 points. There is also the 200 backer bonus point, which is drawing near also.
The new stretch goal minis include the Giant Mantis Shrimp, a massive and deadly crustacean with two options for weapons, and the 20-foot Silver Death fish.
After that we will have some more troops, like the Dark Mariner Vanguard Ranger. Hopefully we can get some good momentum and get through these goals.
And:
Creator AntiMatter Games 1 minute ago
Joey,
That one is being worked on separately from the kickstarter. We need to have regular releases during the year that are not tied to this project to keep interests up in stores.
Celestino is working on
Copeform mech
Thotag Crab
Dark Mariner Hunter-Killer Biomech
Fortune Hunter Assistant mech
Also to be done is the Stealth sniper soldier for the Ancients. That one used to be in the 2.0 DeepWars book but will be moved to Blood Reef.
Creator AntiMatter Games about 10 hours ago
Highlord,
Warbeasts are not the same as Wild Animals. They are not summoned but are part of a warband and do not actually require any special model to control them, although they are sometimes difficult to control without a Deep Caller. So any force could actually add a Giant Anglerfish, or Silver Death as a mercenary in the current version of the rules.
It makes the warband options really diverse this way. Warbeasts in 2.5 will likely be made a bit more difficult to control as mercenaries though, so they work best for their main force

Siren Maneater unlocked
We are in the final 48 hours and have just unlocked the Siren Maneater for the Dark Mariner force. It will be sculpted by the talented James Van Schaik and will be cast in metal.
One more stretch goal has been added at $29500, hopefully not out of reach before the end of the project, the mighty Sea Troll. This hunter of the shallow reefs carries a crude harpoon and kelp rope that it uses to catch big fish, sharks and divers. This model will be approximately 60mm tall and will be cast in resin.

Love the Sea Troll, but it might be a bridge too far for this campaign!

Cymopoleia WIP sculpt + new stretch unlock
Hi all,
Here is the WIP of Cymopoleia, the Nereid Sorceress by Paolo Fabiani. He's really capturing the movement well and the scales look great. She still needs the headdress to be finished. The thumb is included in the shot to give an idea of scale. The circle under her is 22mm in diameter, the width of the insert for the 30mm plastic base.
Here is her concept art.
Also, we have really jumped up in pledges recently and have unlocked the Dagathonan Reef Lord, a Leader for the Scaly Horde. This model will be cast in metal.

Eh, live and learn.
I've done their surveys several times, so could probably help. In general, buying models individually with cash is less efficient than upping your pledge, assuming you want a fair amount of add-ons.
There are a few models that break the typical 1 point = $8 value ratio. Some models are better deal if bought with points (the salvage mech is $12 or 1 point), some are better if bought with cash (the sea dog is only $6 or 1 point, better to use the points elsewhere).
What were you looking at?

Backers of $100 and up get 4 more points of figures. Backers of $230 and up get 1 additional point (for a total of 5)
If you backed a previous project at a $50 or higher level, AND this project at a $45 or higher level, you get 1 additional point.
If you backed a previous project at $225 or higher AND back this project at $225 or higher, you get 1 more point on top of that (total of 2)
Accounting for the basic stretch goals (but not any bonus from if you backed a prior campaign), the cost/points breakdown are now as follows
Battle set - $130, 19 points ($6.84 per pt)
Gamesmaster - $230, 34 points ($6.76 per pt)
Gamesmaster Pro - $320, 52 points ($6.15 per pt)

New stuff looks good, especially that Ethermancer.
I still worry how well that shark is going to hold its connection to the base. It looks like a small connection point.
It may be an unfounded worry, granted, as a lot of the resin stuff from Antimatter i've built has been incredibly stable and not prone to toppling over, but then I see my gorilla- like children and their propensity to knock anything and everything off a flat surface and I begin to sweat...
That engineer also looks like he'd be a good base for a Techmarine/ Admech conversion with those arms of his!

Status and Abyssal Mats
Hi folks,
We're still in the middle of sculpting and casting. The four nereids from the starter set are all in hand and ready to go to casting after some minor edits here and there. One thing about making miniatures is that is is critical to ensure that parts are thick enough, connections fit and nothing is broken or cracked before sending to casting. There are often minor things to check and fix before casting can actually begin, and this process can be short or can be really long and painful. Luckily the nereids were well made to start. Right now, we are working on the Siren Maneater edits for casting and will get that one off soon also.
In the meantime, we are still working on regular releases for DeepWars, including this nice new Abyssal Zone game mat in 24×24 inch and 36×36 inch versions. This environment has a detailed volcanic seafloor with hydrothermal vents, crystal outcroppings, deep sea corals and a whale skeleton. Backers can choose to add this mat to their pledge, $24 for the 24x24 and $48 for the 36x36 version. Adding a mat does add additional weight, so we may need to recalculate shipping if these are added to some reward shipments.

AntiMatter Games wrote:Hi folks,
GenCon came and went, and many thanks to backers who came by to see the Blood Reef minis and stop to chat. Our booth was really eye-catching with the giant shark banner.
Here is the display case showing the shark, sea goblins and nereids.
We were running demos on a small 18"x18" board, but it was large enough to allow for competitive games. We ran a combination of a salvage and skirmish scenario, with sharks and Cordoba squid hunting down the players. A doom clam caused some havok also, gulping down some models. That was just a placeholder model used there, and the real doom clam is being sculpted right now.
Some people also got to play ShadowSea demos as well, searching for treasure in a wreck on the beaches of the Skeleton Coast. A Lava Lizard was used as a wild creature here, guarding some treasure in the wreck.
In the development front, we are working on the last bits of artwork now for the Blood Reef rulebook and working out a new type of game mat that has more than just coral.
We just got back a resin master of the Siren Maneater and it looks excellent, especially considering it is a one-piece sculpt. We're going into production casting soon for that one.

Best way to get me to buy metal models is making them one piece

Well, these models are very nice, and most are not at all difficult to assemble.
They're basically quite fantastic and the game is really, really fun too!

Check out our latest video battle report with DeepWars and our first use of the models in the Blood Reef suppolement - the Nereids! It was a great battle!
In a continuation of the story arc from our last battle report, the Fortune Hunters, having captured the Laurentian Science lab, are pit against the Nereids, in a mission to grab as much treasure from the drop-off to Blood Reef. Our battle this time is of two forces of ~735 points each.

I'm impatiently still waiting for all my goodies too.
This is probably one of my most eagerly awaited kickstarters.
Most looking forward to all that wildlife that's going to come muck things up or get summoned on to the table.

Thanks! We have a lot of fun making the battle reports. We've done 6 so far and we have more planned, stay tuned to that channel!
And thanks for the positive thoughts, I was a little nervous replying to such an old thread (the forum software even warned me), but this is such cool stuff I couldn't resist.
I don't think AMG will be at Adepticon, but likely at GenCon. I hope to make it to GenCon myself this year.
Such a fun game and I love the aesthetic and the vibrancy of the miniatures and terrain.

We've just completed our 7th video battle report for DeepWars! In this game, we match the Ancients of Atalán vs. the Nereids of Blood Reef. After their victory against the Fortune Hunters in the last battle report, the Nereids head back towards their base in the Sunken city, only to chance upon a mechanized reconnaisance force of Ataláns trespassing on their territory. The Nereids unleash their fury! Will it be enough to destroy the monstrous undersea automatons of the Ancients?
