Some people insisting that they "have it on good authority" that there will be holiday battleforces again this year. Others "have it on good authority" that there won't be any.
I, personally, don't have it on any authority, but I'm guessing that GW won't be doing them as a result of the pandemic, lockdowns, etc.

Same. I don't really buy individual releases anymore, I basically only buy start collectings, 2 player boxes, holiday battleforces, and starter sets, etc. gotta maximize my dollars.
Its only frustrating when there are obvious holes in your army that you can't fill through buying multiple copies of a box set or you have that one unit you *really* want that they aren't putting in a batleforce etc.

In sales new Modiphius has announced some plans for a sale on Fallout (I'm assuming other stuff will be on sale too) with discounts on faction bundles. Their pre-order bundles are pretty competitively priced so I'm interested to see what they'll offer but we haven't heard a time the sale will start.

PVC mats take a lot more effort to get to sit flat, they usually hold "memory" of being rolled
For me, neoprene (aka mousepad) is the only way to go.

I bought some transparent PVC vynal from a fabric store for laying over some neoprene mats and drawing zones (for 2d20 RPG games) and they're a pain to really get to lay smooth and you never really will. It works well enough for what I want but would annoy me if it was the play mat itself.

You might have some luck heating the mat with a hair dryer (or heat gun if you like to live on the edge). I have found that most plastics will relax when heated then retain the new shape when they cool pretty well. PVC especially, although I have used it on bigger mats like office mats, and smaller things, like models and pipe mostly. I would be really leery of ordering from GameNerdz. I made an order from them for the first time in early November, and I still haven't gotten it. The order included a pre-order that released in late November, but their customer support has been less than helpful. I suspect they never actually ordered the item, it is now sold out, and they will not release the order until it gets restocked at some nebulous point in the future.

I've had good experiences with them, but the mail is terrible right now. I made an order to one store before Thanksgiving, had it ship before the holiday even, everything was in stock, it disappeared for a while, resurfaced early in December, went silent again through almost the entire month (and I'd hoped to give it as a gift), and just showed up on the tracking that it was moving again as of New Year's.
I'd written it off completely and gotten refunded for the items too.
Hell, I have a book sitting at a distribution center that made it cross country and hasn't moved since in the last two weeks that was also supposed to be a gift.
I think I just want to gripe about how poor the mail has become.
Those Warcaster and certain Monsterpocalypse prices are pretty cheap though. Some things seem discounted severly, some don't.

I've orders from them for years with no problems but whoever their current distributor is, especially for miniatures, is having issues. Modiphius products, for example, that have been releases for months they don't have but the few new releases they do have from this year have higher sale prices then the MSRP by quite a lot. It's bad enough, ie lots of complaints on Facebook, that the owner of Modiphius is going to reach out to them to see what the issue is. Their words, not mine! FWIW these are the lowest prices on new and preorder PP I've seen. Other 'clearance' sales I've seen on PP have actually just been on old af WMH stuff, not new more relevant WMH or MonPoc or ever Warcaster (very much looking at MM here). To the extent that this is the first time I've really considered buying into Warcaster, as the MSRP is way too high for me and sales for it are tepid at best. EDIT: Also why say liquidate (i.e. existing stock goes away) but still take PP preorders? Words, man, how do they work.
