Painting started.
There are the three pieces together.
The two whose bases join.
Another angle.
One that shows the interior destruction.
Here was a case where the kit did not have an even number of column sides, so I filled with one with chicken wire to create the illusion of rebar in the core.

Cracking work on this kit Captain! I’d seen it on a couple of stores and was tempted, I’m now more tempted as yours looks really great, particularly the two pieces that fit together. I second Gwyn on the addition of the roof members, they add a good bit of claustrophobia to the scene.

Thank you Flinty, I have not tried kitchen roll (is that cheese paper?) The wipes are strong enough to be pulled and have creases made and tightened without them splitting.

Great stuff, Captain. There are so many things out there that make great terrain. I guess that's why I have so many drawers filled with random crap in the garage.
I believe 'kitchen roll' is what we here in the states would call 'paper towel'. Not sure what the proper Canadian nomenclature is . . .

Drilling holes for the magnets in the fences which can connect to the STC Hab-bunkers and stockades.

Mighty fine scenery, especially the scratchbuilt terrain.
Your Necromunda board is fantastic. Impressive! Love the graffiti and the gangs.
I'll have to trawl through your entire project log here and save choice pictures as reference pictures for future doodles and terrain building of my own.
As to the width of roads at the start of the project log, one would expect them all too often to be too narrow in the Imperium. Especially since private motoring with personal cars would not be a mass phenomenon at all (that is a form of freedom, and the Imperium do not do freedom).
Perhaps one or two "road pocket" sections could be fun to add, where instead of a wider road, you have a widened short section for one vehicle to pull over upon meeting another broad vehicle. I do not know the English terms here.
Keep up the marvellous work. You're living the hobby dream!

gobert, it was actually an accident, there was some sort of interaction between the matte sealant and the paint on a few of the pieces. It bubbled, so I just pushed it down and added one more coat. I figured to issues with some bubbled decking in Necromunda.

Warboss_Waaazag wrote:How do you create the painted plate lines? They look drybrushed, but I don't see any raised details where they are at. Do you use a pen and ruler to draw them in?
I start by carving a straight line with an exacto blade, making a shallow cut so as not to split the plastic card. That makes a seam between plates. Then I run a stitch wheel in parallel on both sides, creating a riveted effect. The light grey is a fine drybrush, and when you are close you see the rivets and seams. I will use a thine black wash later to bring out the depth if the cut and rivets later in the process. As you guessed, to keep my cuts and punches straight I use a steal ruler.

Redemptionists, Guardling, not mere Cawdor.
Nice work on them, Cap'n - the mostly-black scheme with the fire trim and white masks is very distinctive.

A small calamity has hit my scratch building...I like to use the Tropicana orange juice lids for the tops of towers and tall exhaust pipes. The orange ones that when you turn them upside down the look like they have a gothic pattern. I have loads of the small ones, but have run out of the larger versions. I had a new plan to use a great number of the larger tops. I went to start buying some large juice bottles...and found none...it seems Tropicana has discontinued their larger tops for a flat lid and a smaller container. :(
