The Fire prism one is nasty, as is the Karandras one !

Uh.

Is there a particular reason the Land Raider Ares (http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/apocalypse/gaming/datasheets/assets/Land_Raider_Ares.pdf) is written.. in pen? Does that disconcern anyone else?

PS:

I'm more amused by the rule that if the Grey Knights Redeemer Force succeeds in killing all of the Daemons on the board the Chaos player gets control of the Grey Knights models. Oh and if the opponent isn't using a Greater Daemon or Warp Rift they cannot enter play at all?

My guess? To infer that players can print out the blank sheet and write up their own vehicles & datasheets. It did catch me by surprise though.

Also like to note the distinct lack of eviscerators for the Kroot Mercs, as well as the interesting little change with the master shaper.

Oh, and the prism sheet is ... intense

that's explained in the article under the Blank datasheet, in an article that quite frankly would have been of tremendous use if it had been published when Apoc. was first released. Like in a monthly magazine that's to do with the hobby. Possibly published in-house. Possibly..... oh, you see where I'm going with this.

No more powerfists for my mutant bosses then ? .

The Ares is an "example" datasheet from this article about making your own vehicles and datasheets:

Ok so, reading the accompanying article (particularly this bit http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/apocalypse/gaming/scratch/3.htm given the mention of the Iron Warriors Basilisk) and with the inclusion of the LATD list, I've come to a conclusion.

Apocolypse is GW's way of shielding themselves (in their eyes) from all possible malice towards them for totally nixing units or entire armies! Which also gives them freedom to do it far more often (That may be a stretch, though).

So say when the Space Wolf Codex Redeux comes out, they completely chop out the Leman Russ Exterminator. The only justification they give? "You can use it in Apocolypse!".

When IG Doctrines go the way of the DoDo... "We're releasing a set of brand new datasheets, all for the Guard!"

When people say "What about the Squats?" they'll get "Check out the newest set of Datafaxes!" or even better "Use them as 'Counts As' Imperial Guard with doctri- err, rather, using a datafax..."

And when Dark Eldar finally get discontinued... well.. actually I guess they probably won't bother releasing a datafax.... No one would download it.

Maybe that's a bit too pesimistic (unusual for me). Maybe it's GW's way of making up for shafting LATD and Iron Warriors players. If nothing else, it does promise some really interesting datasheets to come, I think.

It's got the old Car Wars datasheets look.

It's printed in a "handwritten" font because that datasheet is an example of a homemade sheet. The model was made by Nathan Bishop, who has this Dark Angels website: http://chamber42.com/blog/

You can see the Ares Landraider on his website, as well: http://www.chamber42.com/galleries/armoury/armoury.html

I can't wait to use the Grey Knights datasheet. I just have to make sure that my opponents play Chaos and bring the greater demons.

Let me know the next time you are bringing your Grey Knights to a GE event-I will bring a Greater Daemon just for you to kill.

It might be a bit off topic...

What do you think about using Apoc rules in a 1750-2000 points games with FOCs and standard scenarios? (With no tactical assets and super heavies being used.)

On the topic 'Wich bases are supplied with my Terminators and how could I abuse it'...after turning into a debate on english language and the meaning of the word 'supply'.

The Land Raider Ares is awsome, and much more interesting then the Terminus Ultra. Especially since I am a DA player. I would switch the HF for Multimeltas or Heavy Bolters.

Somewhere on the US site, there is an article on making your own Datasheets, anyone know the link?
Possible that the Ares is an "example" of this?

EDIT: Ignore that, it's linked on the datasheet page. Must clean my glasses

The make your own datasheet link is right under the link to the blank datasheet. But it's not very helpful. It just says that you shouldn't be ambitious when designing datasheets and it also doesn't give you any concrete ruls for your designs.

Wow. The LatD players managed to get GW to give them a datasheet for their Mutants... And here, people were thinking LatD was dead. We should have had more faith in GW.

Love the Ares..most likely because, on a whim, I built something exactly like that a few years ago. Now I can actually use it in a game.

No Johnny, LatD isn't dead. He's just gone away... gone away to a better place... a place far away... a place called "Apocalypse" where he'll have lots of grass and apples to eat and plenty of room to run around and play with all the other armies... a place where he'll be happy... forever. No Johnny, I don't think he'll be coming back, but I'm sure we'll see him again... someday...
