Alright, looks like most of us kept to our vows, at least somewhat. Remember, vows are not meant to be all-consuming (in addition to what I did, I played with a rhino kitbash and painted up a bunch of GASLIGHT VSF figs), but just a way to keep you on track and reduce that lead mountain, one fig at a time.

So, my vows for February:

-Bog Trogs Unit + 2
-2 Skorne beast handlers (to round out my paingivers squad)
-Lady Aiyana and Holt
-Paint up Over The Wire's England Invaded starter (7 brits, 3 prussians)
-Tiefling fighter and gnoll warrior for my Chainmail Naresh warband.
That's 24 figs, 1 more than I painted this month. If I can make it to 1/day (on average) and maintain that through the year, I should significantly reduce my unpainted pile that's accumulated over the years. Now, what to do with them, I don't know.

I have a week of break so I'll be able to complete my vows this time(actually I did complete my January vows, I just totally spaced on posting).

Paint:
Black Templar Command Squad
Black Templar Crusader Squad1
Black Templar Crusader Squad2
Razorback
Inquisitor

Wow, that totals out to 24 models also. Their are actually 28 models in those 5 units but I've painted 2 Neophytes, Initiate and the Command Squad's veteran Sergeant.

I vow...

1. To actually do most of the stuff I vowed to do in January, including but not limited to: Finishing my Archon and finishing my raiders.

2. Work on not procrastinating quite so much.

3. Continue to slay my enemies with overly dramatic versions of the biblical plagues.

4. If all of the above is accomplished, finish a squad of Grey Knights

I've got to keep the momentum going here. One month of work is pretty easy. Stringing them together is the tough part.

  • Finish off the terrain stuff I've got now. This includes snow and trees.

  • For new stuff, 2 ruined houses and

  • A set of obstacles. Lets say 5 of them.

  • 2008 is going to be my most productive year EVAR.

Oog. January was most unproductive. Finished my Khador battlebox...and, um, half-assembled a bunch of stuff, half-painted some more. Yikes.

    Ok, February vows:
Highlight my last 4 Zealots + Monolith Bearer
Repaint the base markings on the rest of my Menoth (3 jacks, 19 infantry, 2 casters and a solo)
    Finish painting 10 Bile Thralls
Paint Typhus, Plague Marine Aspiring Champion, and two Chaos Termies with Reapers and Chainfists
Paint 7 more Plaguebearers and Warp Gate
Paint Severius, Skarre, Eiryss and Gorman

Finish daemonizing and magneting Chaos Predator
    Finish magneting LR Demolisher
    Finish magneting and converting Flyrant
Finish flesh hooks and carapace for last 3 genestealers

I'd like to assemble and rod-mount my 10 Imperial Guard Jetbikes (for counts-as Roughriders) but I think I might be getting ahead of myself, realistically.

Lots of these are little jobs that I just never seem to get around to doing (like the final highlights on the zealots, and finishing converting the genestealers). I'm hoping that actually typing them in here where I can be reminded of what I need to do will help! I like the idea for these threads, to keep us on track.

    O.k..... Febuary vows.
I know fine well i'll deviate at some point from this list but i'll try not to!

Finish DA company master and command squad (undercoated and basecoated already).
Paint DA devastator squad (undercoated already).
Finish final detailing on deathwing terms x 10.
Finish DA suppression force, vindicator and predator (each vehicle 20% painted already).
Finish building and undercoat DA chaplain, vet squad and chaplain's personal LR crusader (conversion included).
Build and undercoat 2x rhinos for tactical squads.(i'll probably paint these too when i do my other vehicles to speed things up!)

Finish conversion on black legion fellblade (which is looking VERY promising!) 80% complete so far....
Assemble and undercoat Abbaddon conversion and converted personal body guard terms
Convert pre-heresy LR for above when the bits from FW arrive eventually....

I reckon the DA stuff will take two weeks so its fair to assume i'll crack into the BL stuff more towards the end of the month.
I'll definately get some pics up this month too. In particuler my converted BL stuff.
February promises to be extremely productive!!!!

1 Harbinger (WM), Finally finish my extensive nauticly inspired conversion.

First up, finishing up my goal of 1000 points of ogres by today (Feb 6). Missed hitting the mark, but not by much! Still to go:

    Painting
    - 1 yhetee
    - 1 bruiser
    - 1 movement tray

Then for the next month it's time to get my CSM to 2000 points. That'll be:

    Painting
    - 1 demon prince
    - 1 dreadnought
    - 1 land raider
    - 3 terminators

That should get me a bit into March, but we'll lock them in as my February Vows.
