Pretty simple question, what do people want?

So far GW has answered the demand for bitz with such things as buckets and barrels, or gothic terrain. I'm sure that literally pairs of people have bought them, but what about us Dakkites?

For me:
GUNZ
The raptor special weapon sprue (flamer, melta and plasma all on one metal sprue) was a favorite of mine until plastuic bitz became available, so can see myself buying a pack with that sprue and maybe some of the old Necro weapon sprues.

I'd like packs of individual bits. Hopefully this could encompass the entire range of GW products. Packs like "Kasrkin plasma backpack (x1)" etc etc.

Cities of Death floor sprue. Just the sprue. Nothing else, so I can order more floors.

Then the Black Templar upgrade sprue. I don't want to have to buy a whole box and get all those BT doors and that I don't want. I don't want a BT army, I want a Crusading Marine army with loads of different Chapters in it. I don't need doors! I just want arms and torsos and iconography. And I don't want to have to troll through actual bitz sites to get it.

Failing that I want a GK arm sprue that contains 5 Halberds... not 4 and a damned friggin' sword that I don't want.

And how's about a little love for us poor neglected Marine players who never get nothin'. Some power armour thunder hammers would be nice in something other than a 10-man Iron Hands Tactical Squad set.

I sent the following email to custserv@games-workshop.com a few days ago:

Hello,

I heard you were soliciting recommendations for bitz packs, so here are mine. Enjoy.

Bionics: A selection of various bionic arms, legs, etc. from the Necromunda, Space Marine, and Imperial Guard ranges.

White Scars: It looks like these guys got left out of the selection of upgrade packs.

Assault Cannons: A lot of people use the assault cannon from the Land Speeder Tornado to add a second assault cannon to their terminator squads.

Ultramarines Honour Guards: You only get two in the boxed set (with Marneus Calgar) which isn't really a proper squad.

One more thing, not exactly a "bitz pack," but related to the recent loss of the archive service: Is there any way you can make some of the metal models from the boxed sets available seperately, please? I know a lot of people want new Eldar Exarchs, and I'd like to get some of the Inquisition henchmen which are currently only available in a big box full of other models I don't want.

And, since I've got your ear, so to speak, is there any chance of rotating in some classic Epic miniatures at some point, please? There were some I missed the first time around, which are now going for astronomical rates on the secondary market.

Thanks for many years of great gaming fun!

I'd like to see weapon and head packs. I love the head of the mounted Slaanesh lord and the only way to get it is to buy the rest of the model that I don't want. I'd also be nice to get a sword pack, with lots of swords, an axe pack, etc.

I think the upgrade sprues that come with a lot of boxes (dark angels, black templars, chaos marines, tactical squad) by themselves would be easy to produce and incredibly useful. I'm kicking myself for not ordering a whole bunch before the bitz service went down. I love the idea of battlewagon bits but I don't know how I'd feel paying $3.99 for a plasma rifle when a whole upgrade sprue was $6 from GW just ten weeks ago.

Plasma guns. Lots of plasma guns. Say, a 6-pack of plasma guns. Maybe a 6-pack of melta guns.

You can get for that price from Bit Kingdom. They sell mostly whole sprues with the occasional bunch of bitz.

I wish they'd sell the Ork slaver grabba klaw arm so that all of us who converted it into a Big Shoota/Rokkit for the last codex can get a new arm and change it back.

Does anyone know a service that sells metal GW bits right now?

Barrels and such? As a bitz pack? I just looked and found nothing on the site. You have a link, maybe? I need a bunch of barrels, gas cans, and tank traps for my city terrain (WIP).

I've said this in another discussion but...

generic non army specific theme bits, e.g. gothicy bits - incense burners, flying babies etc jungle bits - brass etch leaves, small plants and creatures, stones with runes on vehcle pack - jerry cans, tools, sand bags fantsy town pack - children with sling shots, gibbets, signs, road side skelle 40k city - street lamps, brass etch 'man hole covers/grilles', security terminal bar set - generic bar bits for warhammer or 40k - tankards, bottles, bar, fireplace etc

my flgs sells resin dungeon packs with things like torture chambers, bars, dorways etc. but to make anything large enough would cost quite a bit with it being resin, also not much good for using in dioramas for golden demon, they'd disqualify you for using some elses bitz!

It's WHFB so wood barrels. Which is a shame since I got 20 barrels for like a $1 at the hobby shop.

For modern metal barrels check out a hobby shop, most have 1/35 jerrycan and barrel sets that look fine in 40k.

No but seriously, Cities of Death floor sprue (or 'generic building sprue' as it was called).

Just that. To hell with the rest.

Oh I know they're out there, I just want easy access to them, like I used to have. I've ordered over 30 of the things by themselves, and so have a few of my friends.

They're the one thing you always run out of, and for someone like me who's bought the equivalent of 4-5 City boxes, and still has over a box to build, I need more floors!!!

All 'accessory sprues' should definitely be available as individual items to order online. This includes the faction-specific vehicle-pimping sprues as well as the WHFB Command Sprues and such, too.

Otherwise, for packs I'd like to see new packs made up as things 'make sense' and maybe go on a revolving system for it.

I'm not too familiar with the spin-casting involved, but GW does metals from round molds where the pieces are almost arranged like spokes on a wheel, right? So it makes sense for them to 'fill the wheel' whenever possible, correct?

What I'd like to see is someone on the sales side who is tasked to make up bitz packs as new books and such are released. Not a sculpter necessarily, but if they want to let the trainee sculptors contribute, I'm fine with that. For example, as an example someone mentioned on Dakka recently, IG Veterans: When the new IG Vet Codex is about to ship, if vets still exist and are a 'modeling opportunity' I'd like to see someone make a 'bitz pack' for this and offer it online same day as the codex ships at the latest. Throw in some interesting heads from various models, maybe a couple weapon sprues, and some appropriate metal bitz people might need for veterans and price it reasonably. Sell it as a limited special, but:

If it sells, consider giving it it's own mold. Make a new mold for it so it's easy and cost-effective to spin-up as desired. Document it. Tweak the contents as needed.

Of course, this would require being aware and responsive to customer needs, which is sadly not common at GW, or at least not common enough to make a policy stick.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

I think GW should put out a pack of hard plastic in various basic sizes of rods and sheets that players could use to make their own bitz.

It could be called Plastikard.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

And maybe a weapons sprue. Something with a ton of different cool weapons bits (not just "Plasmagun - NOW WITH SKULLZ LOL!") including cool CCWs and the various assault and heavy weapons.

They could have a version for the Imperium, the Eldar, the Orks, the Tau, etc.

And as someone mentioned in another thread, why not a Heresy-era accessory sprue? That would be mac.
