I'll continue filling out my WHFB lizardmen for the next few months as my primary project.
Then will start buying and modelling High Elves ready for painting in December....
Unfortunately no time to make armies for 40k.

I work on multiple projects to keep from hitting a wall. My
stuff is never as good as I thought it would turn out, so
this keeps the meds in their pill cases.
As far as "major," I guess that'd be: Skorne, Mercs.

I have been wracking my brains for the last few weeks to decide what i want to do. I think i have settled on Space Marines for now, just need to figure if I want to do Black Templars, Space Wolves, or redo my Legion of the Damned.

A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America" for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Right now it's Soviet infantry for a FOW tournament.
Like Malfred, I also try to keep multiple projects running to help prevent burn out. If I want to take a break from Soviets, I can always paint Afrika Korps, Late War Germans, Indians, Trollbloods, Battlefleet: Gothic Imperials or Chaos, Mordheim Witch Hunters, Space Marines, Romans, Carthaginians...
Somebody stop me!

I'm working on my 2000 point Tau army, and should have my 1000 point mini-army done by the end of April. Since I'm always looking at the next project, and because some dirty birds here (looking at your Russian infantry, Hordini!) posted some Flames of War pics, my coworker/gaming buddy caught a glimpse and started asking questions.
Looks like Flames of War is next, probably at the end of the year.

With my defiler done last night my CSM are up to 2000, until FW delivers my dread legs and I can paint that guy up. Which leaves me with (in order):
Ogres to 2000
Nurgle-Skaven to 2000
Khorne Demons to 1000
CSM to 2500
Tomb Kings to 1000
Have other projects boxed away - Spooky Tau 1000, DIY Marines 1000, Spider Nids 1000, Tomb Kings 2000, Necro gang, 12 INQ models - but the above is what I'm looking to work on for the rest of 2008, at least

The Last Chancer Who Survived

I'm currently trying to finish my chaos army after taking a break. Gotta finish building 1 landraider and 3 vindicators.. then I'll have every model built and can start playing. Also considering adding some of the new demons to the army, but I'm on the fence because of the theme for the army being all about bones and stuff, I may use the new VC skeletons as my lesser demons and a bone giant for a greater.
Also on the list are 2 chimeras that I ordered FW DK gunners and eagle doors for, for my 2 units of DK stormtroopers.
No new armies on the horizon. I was considering inveting in a FW reaver titan as my ultimate modeling project but I won't be able to live with myself for payin $1100 for a 1 model that I will prolly never even play with anyway. I may add a machurius vulcan tank to my guard and possibly a tyrgon to my nids.

I have a couple projects as well. Probably in this order is: Finish my CoD terrain with 5 pieces to go, 4 ready for paint and 1 in the conceptual phase, and then it is completely done! (yayyyyy!) after that and inbetween those is to get the majority of the rest of my IG painted. I have 1 infantry platoon squad done I just need to hammer out the others and my 7 chimeras 3 russes basilisk and 2 sentinals although I may be getting more basilisks in the future. After that is to finish my CSM khorne based army at 1000 points, I just need to get either some raptors or use my terminators. Finally after that is to finish painting my bretonnians, in 500 point increments.

Well, I'm done with my Weird War II American stuff (for the moment: I need some golden age superheroes, finish off the rifle squad, and a group of paranormal experts), but I've still got a few Skorne and some Rhulic infantry (and Herne & Jonne) before those armies are done. I'd like to get some stuff done for Gloire! and Fantastic Worlds (pulp sci-fi). Then I've got to work on my Kroot-as-venusian highlanders and skinks-as-pygmy-venusian-lowlanders (ah, the diversity of fauna in Perelandra!), that Man-O-War Khador army that's been on the drawing board for a while, those Genestealers (once a COD army, now reimagined as a generic alien bug race). And I've still got piles of fantasy figs in my lead mountain that need painting, including 20 or so Reaper orcs. Oh, and there's my pile of RT-2nd ed. era orks (including rocker and dread) that I'd like to do up for various games. And I haven't even mentioned the Last Chancers...
So no projects. Nope nothing, really.

Short tern: dividing my time between Painting up the 2nd edition era Biel Tan army I've been collecting for the last few months and paiting up a 40k Daemon Force. The eldar have about 900pts painted, but I've got another 2500 built. The daemons have about 1200 points painted, with another 800 pts built. It's going to be a long summer.
Long Term: Finish my baneblad, paint up the last handful of models for my IG (anti tank squad, two special weapon squads, and some storm troopers), and decide what to do with the Orks I've collected.

I'm done with 40K armies at the moment. I'll get some new Daemon stuff eventually, but I'm not too interested.
My time has been devoted to building a whole stack of 'Mechs for BattleTech. I've got over 100 now, and they're great fun (if annoying from a modelling perspective).

I was toying with starting an Ork army, but after collecting a few old (RT-era) models off eBay, I lost interest. I'll probably get back to them later.
The writing is on the wall for my mixed WHFB Chaos army. I need to get enough models to split it into two separate armies (mortal and daemonic). I like some of the new daemons, and I'd always been planning to buy some of the Chaos Warriors that came out a couple years ago, and some chaos hounds, so that's all good, I guess.

Going to start a 10k Chaos Force soon, trying to develop a sizable attack force of all four Chaos Factions. 2500 points of World Eaters, Death Guard, Emperor's Children, and Thousand sons, including lots of Marine squads, Terminator Squads, Havocs, Raptors, and characters. I'll probably be building it until 6th Ed at my current rate.

I have 2 very large projects on tap for later this year / next year, after the new 40k Rulebook and SM Codex arrive:
- rebuild my Space Marines to wear mk.6 Corvus (and mk.4 Maximus / mk.6 Heresy) armour. It's going to be awesome to field all-retro armour.
- build my Chaos Marines to as fallen Crusaders with mk.2 heads and wearing tabards.
mk.7 begone!

Infiltrating Broodlord
|
As soon as I finish painiting up my last few Cryx models (3 jacks, 3 cav and a caster), I'm dying to dive into a Hordes army. Skorne in particular. Something about rampaging armoured elephants, saber-tooth tiger cavalry, and torturers - and the fact that no one around here plays Skorne, while Legion players are a dime a dozen. I'm going for a beast/cavalry-heavy force to keep the model count down (2 heavies, 5 cav, 8 infantry + warlock for my first 500 pts), and because most of the infantry is fugly.
I still have enough IG and Nids to keep me painting for years, and a whole bunch of Menoth yet to paint - but I tend to just pick at those gradually (since I've got 1000 pts of each 40k army painted and a 500 pt Menoth army done). My Nurgle Chaos is getting closer to a fully painted 1850 force though - just a couple of Rhinos, some Termies and Oblits to go. Then there's the my Witchhunters army, of which *nothing* is painted yet...

This is an easy thread to reply to... because I actually have a gaming task list of projects set up on my Treo. Yes, there are that many. In order:
1. Get ready for fall BattleTech campaign I'm running
- Finish designing campaign rules
- Make 3D versions of as many of the maps as possible (I think I own every published map)
- Paint 60+ Mechs
2. Space Hulk
- Buy, assemble, and paint a second Terminator squad
- Finish painting 'Stealers
- Create my own cooler-looking versions of Door, Blip, Flamer, Overwatch/Jam and Command Point counters
3. Legends of the High Seas (want to get into this after watching RanTheCid play a game)
- buy book
- figure out what minis to buy and paint
4. Mechaton- design more robots and buy Legos necessary to build them
5. Necromunda- misc. conversion work on my gang
6. BFG Eldar- assemble Void Stalker and paint fleet
7. CoD
- make markers to represent my most frequently-used Stratagems
- make flags for captured buildings
- paint my buildings
8. assemble/paint IG army for CoD
9. BFG Imperial fleet- assemble Emperor battleship, paint it and Dauntlesses
10. BFG Chaos fleet- paint 7 Cruisers
11. Tau army- assemble and paint the 3000 point army sitting in my closet
The 40K stuff is all lower priority than usual because I've postponed it until seeing
1) whether 5th edition makes me want to stop playing the game, and
2) whether I can get my 40K group hooked on BattleTech with the campaign.
