I have some spare bits from Cadian range but I really like Vostroyan looks. After few hours I get some results

Nice work, makes a nice change from the Metal Vostroyans. Any plans for tanks/heavier elements off the army?

Maybe I will make some tanks in future. But now I plan only infantry and cavalery...

I like the cav model ^_^. I think the weapon should be placed just below level though, he'd still be trying to keep his weapon on target no matter what the horse decided to do!

Honestly though, it would just make the piece more dynamic to me and help fill that void space at the front of the model. Helps with the 'flow' of the overall composition.

Agreed, failing that you could put a dead Ork or something on the front, gives it a more threatening look!

i wouldn't fancy his odds against a Daemon prince... besides he could be fighting Gretchins for what it's worth, and he'd stand a better chance! (Not meant completely seriously)

KillJoy! way to wipe the heroism right out of that model.

No, herosim would be if he did kill it, or charged it in the first place to be exact.

"Heroism isn't the lack of fear but the will to over come fear" or something like that. Besides my Scarabs constantly do similar suicide attacks and look nowhere near of cool, maybe I'm just jealous

Maybe the rider is the heroic one, and the horse just realized what he was being asked to do. He sort of has an "Oh, HELL NO!" look to him.

Actually, the horses' feet are too low, or his head is. What I mean is, if he is starting to rear he would have his front hooves higher and striking already, and if he is starting to come down his neck would be more extended forward as he returns to the "normal" position, with his head paralell to the ground. Unless the angle of the picture is messing with me, which it may well be.

While we are on the nit picky topics, if you angled the rider's torso more towards verticle, it would also help. A rider that angled would have a great deal of trouble staying put, which is why you usually see riders of rearing horses leaning far forward or at least verticle.

Of course, if your gaming group doesn't have horsepeople in their family, all they will see is "Wow! Great converson!"

I'd like it more if the horse were rearing up like it was about to kick an enemy in disgust as the rider was about to run said enemy through with his lance. The horses head should be facing down to see what it's about to strike while the riders torso should be bent forward also looking forward.
Overall job with this project is good. I like your use of green stuff, and it's a much more creative (not to mention cheaper as a whole) than buying the metal Vostroyans.

I think I will get rid of that "For Vostroya" sign on chainsword. It does not look good...

The white just doesn't fit with the colors you've used so far. It makes the model feel disjointed and piecemeal. Your main palette is reds and golds. I'd recommend using colors you've already used. The deep rich red you've got here would look great in place of the white.

I think you should make the chainsword a very dark gray, or flat black. Yeah, I wouldn't keep the whole "For Vostroya" thing, either...

I love the lasgun conversion - simple and effective. Those are Empire handgunner bits for the stock?

Great work but I love the metal dudes to much to make my own out of plastic and green stuff. And since Im not trying to make a whole Vostroyan army but rather just 2 squads I can just stick to the metal.

Mm. That's too bad. Plastic handgunners are easy to come by - blunderbuss parts from Empire militia are harder to get ahold of in large quantities.

I was comparing a metal Vostroyan rifle to a standard Cadian lasrifle yesterday and found that the distance from the clip to the front end of the furniture (not out to the end of the barrel) is twice as long on the Vostroyan rifle as on the Cadian rifle. I'm going to try to convert up a rough facsimile of a Vostroyan rifle from a Cadian one and see how difficult it is - I mean, if you've got to make 60 of them, you've got to make sure they're easy to make.
