I feel seething jealousy towards anybody who lives only three miles away from their FLGS. Mine is fifteen miles away through a gauntlet that is like a trial run for Deathrace. Still, it's nice that we get some respect from an outside source.

Three miles? The two guys who I want to the Ard Boiyz with the other day I found out only live like 7 blocks from our FLGS. I myself live around the 15 mile mark as well.

You guys are lucky. I have to drive an hour and 30 minutes to my FLGS. That also doesn't count Atlanta traffic.

Once upon a time, I told myself it's better to be smart than lucky. Every day, the world proves me wrong a little more.

I take MARTA so traffic is less of an issue but I do have an hour and half or more bus/train ride to my FGS (local is debatable since it is in a different city and two counties over.)

<- 5 blocks to my FLGS, which was a joy with this unusually beautiful October day we had. The kind of day that makes you want to invent Lawnhammer 40,000.

I CARRY my horse the 250 miles of driving snow just to get to the train station so I can ride the other 500 miles on a hard wooden floor (no seats for me) on an open carriage, then have to ride a unicycle backwards up and down 10 hills to get to the phone to let my FLGS know I'm on the way...

Or I drive 7 minutes to my local GW...

My closest shop is a 45 minute drive away, and thats to get to a GW outlet, not even a gaming shop. There is a shop closer, but they only sell GW stuff and don't actually have a table set up. They never have what I want in stock anyway (and I am a big fan of instant gratification and not waiting a week for shipping).

Great comic! This comes up in my group all the time. Truth is I have used my 40K Orks more than once to represent D&D Orks. It does take a little imagination, of course, to imagine that the guns are not there, but why WOULDN'T I use them since I obviously have them in bulk?

Of course, in the old days, we used to play D&D without miniatures at all. That took imagination to be sure. It is more fun with minis, but it can cost a LOT for a DM to amass a decent collection.

And even when you do, players always want to see a NEW foe - not the same old Skeletons and Goblins every single time!

TYRANID ARMY and more for sale. Many Price Drops. 40K and More.

Oh yeah!?! Well, I have to carry TWO horses, kicking and screaming through 20 feet of snow, in a constant raging blizzard, while being chased by leopards, 400 miles, up 3000 ft of elevation, then drop the horses, pick up two yaks, kicking and screaming, climb a sheer cliff face, while milking the yaks, yodeling, and chewing gum, while being shot at by local tribesman, 100 more miles, only to reach the top of the mountain, cook the yaks, drink the spoiled milk, then proceed to walk over burning hot magma with no shoes, about 50 miles. By then, the store is only open for 5 minutes, on a Tuesday, at 3:49pm.

Well, it's more like a 30 minute drive to the good FLGS, but, it feels the same.

Florida traffic.

Sadly, they erred this time.

They called it a "Bloodletter" from Warhammer, yet is is clearly drawn on a round base. Any true nerd knowledgitian knows the difference between 40K round and fantasy square bases. Flearly, he failed on this one... Glaringly so.
