Has anyone
A) received their 2500 point army?
B) gotten any information back about when we can expect them?

I wanna use the models in Baltimore...but if they don't come soon I won't have time to assemble!

Please post if you have any info or if you're in the same boat.

I haven't received mine yet, though I'm set for Baltimore.

All in all, fact is that Warhammer 40K has never been as balanced as it is now, and codex releases have never been as interesting as they are now (new units and vehicles and tons of new special rules/strategies each release -- not just the same old crap with a few changes in statlines and points costs).

From what I heard from last year's round 2 winners, it took GW 3-4 months to get them their models. You won't get them in time for round 3.

Wow...that's terrible news. I had already begun to design my army list around the models I expected....nice of them to tell me when I called or emailed!

What's wrong with the army that you already have? IE, the one you used to win up until this point? Also, how do you plan for models when you have no idea what you are going to get?

On a similar note, has anyone heard anything about the scenarios that will be used in the finals?

Yes I have,

They "Might" get them posted Monday or Tuesday. But if not it will be a surprise Friday when we get there.

This little thing called the SM codex has a few people I know going to the finals changing armies to have more of a umm loyalist flavor if you get my drift.

I was a semi-final winner of the 'Ard Boyz tournament here in central Florida back in 2007 and all I can say is this:

I got the name of the local GW rep from my local game store and phoned them up a week after the semis myself to tell the rep which army I wanted.

I also called back about a month later to check the status of my prize.

I was careful not to be pushy, I just called to make sure that he had all my data.

The army arrived at my local game store about 2 months (plus a week or so) after I first made contact.

I recieved a large box with my Sisters of Battle in them.

I used the same Sisters in the 'Ard Boyz this year.

I got my stuff this weekend.. GW sent it to my gamestore WITH NO documentation, no warning, not a single call to them or me.. after they said they had *my* address

My gamestore almost sent it back because of lack of any kind of paperwork stating *what* all the minis were for

For anyone interested, I got SMs and unfortunately no sternguard or vanguard were sent as I was told

Battleforce
Megaforce
Land raider crusader/redeemer
tactical squad
2 drop pods
normal terminators
sniper scout boxset
dreadnought

However they were all shrink wrapped so I simply exchanged a bunch of it for other product

I just got my Imperial guard 2500 (I won the 'Ard Boyz Regionals in Colorado Springs) on Friday. It had:

2 (3?) Chimaeras
8 Ogryns
2 Bone 'Eads
2 Commisars
3 Cadian Battleforces
1 Hellhound
2 Command Squads
3 Sentinal Boxes (Do they only come w/ 1 Sentinal each? I haven't opened it yet)

I think thats about all I got, which isn't exactly what I was hoping for, but free models are free models, and I'm just happy GW finally sent me the goods. It was making me nervous...

Did they ship to you, or to your store Xaereth?

I just recently received my prizes from the semis.

I do have a disclaimer for those also waiting:

Check the points!

My army was off by about 725pts. After calling GW, apparently there was an error in the shipment, which they quickly rectified.

It's not a big deal, and thanks to GW for fixing the problem so quick. Just thought I'd let my fellow gamers know, just in case they have any similar shipment errors.

My shipment is likewise very very short on points unless I were to squeeze eeeevery upgrade...like upgrade a unit of 30 to being 'ardboyz and splitting my squads up small to get more klaws/rokkits in. Can't complain about free models...but I'd prefer to get the full 2500 points.

All in all though, glad that the 'ardboyz exist...it was a great time (other than two opponents at the finals).

I think they would have had the perfect army had they added a couple of heavy choices like dreads or kans. I got 6 ork battleforces, 20 lootas, and a big mek. Sounds more like 1800 points to me.

The marine army seemed to be 2500, might be a problem with non-marine armies

It's like they want you to buy good units you'll actually use to make these armies viable.

Forget viable, I'd just like to get 2500 points out of this and the outlook is grim. Maybe they forgot to mention a couple extra boxes of something. I'm sure if I call the rep he'll be able to fix things, he seemed like a nice guy.

They sent it to my local gaming store. I haven't added up the points yet, I'm actually not too fluent with the IG codex, so GW could potentially have ripped me off and I wouldn't really have a clue.

That being said, I'm just happy to have won the thing in the first place. Any clue who ended up winning the 2008 Nationals for 'Ard Boyz? I couldn't make it this year, sadly...

Since it seems obvious White devil himself cheated you probably got double robbed there.. Seems like there was lots of cheating going on?
Sadly the format of ardboys is one of the things I like the most in the game and could even consider going over to play, this really is discouraging.

What's wrong with you kid? Do you honestly just go around insulting and spreading crap you weren't even there for? Do us all a favor and STOP. I just recently got on this often, and already I've seen you on 4 different threads. Do something productive why don't you...

Off-topic argument edited out- The Mgmt.

As for the low points costs of the armies, GW might be making up for last year. Some people seemed to get more than 2500pts. I myself was sent about 5200pts of Guard when I asked for Mech Guard. It's a year and I still haven't opened all the boxes and I already have assembled a huge mech list. They were giddy last year, this year they were realistic. I'm sure after the cheating done this year, then next will be a 90 box and you are sent on your way. Nothing takes cheating out of the game then reducing the prize support.

Hey Y'all

So the army's we are getting are not painted? Weren’t they painted last year? I’ll have to contact my store today to see if my Black Templar has arrived.

Thanks for the heads up on that.
