I drew this concept art for a slaughter fiend (defiler w/ 4 CCWs) yesterday, i thought I would get some opinions on it.

hopefully i will start on the WIP by the middle of next week.

Nice concept, altough IMO the drawing seems to have contracted genital-cannon itis

would the mouth be hollowed out or just paited?

How would you get a berserker to stand still and operate a battle cannon- arent they supposed to be running down the enemy and slicing off heads. Perhaps, instead of a Berserker have a slave chained to the gun, or some sort of servitor anchored to the hull.

@P4nc4ke I actually have my own doubts on the front mounted battle cannon. I want it something like a weapons platform, i dont think that it would look quite as genitalish in the finished product.

@corey85 i want to sculpt all the details onto the model to give it three dimensions. all the stuff i drew would be sculpted, although i am planning on doing some detail work in paint as well.

@Elnicko5 I want to be able to use this for the Apocalyse Reload formation. There is a formation of 3 defilers. all with 4 dreadnaught CCWs and a berzerker riding it (presumably it would take swings at the enemies passing by) i think in the formation the defiler has like 6-7 attacks. it can also act as a transport for zerkers and gets 2d6 fleet.

So after a long break and some work, I have finally gotten started on the defiler, some things have changed from the previous drawing (the berserker will be up by the head) but it is all starting to come together. A lot of the greenstuff is still pretty rough, but should give you an idea on what it will look like. so without further ado...

Here is the body with the torso set farther back and the frontal mounted cannon


The world eater symbol on the front turned out pretty good, though there are a few problems with the teeth and it is alittle off center


After removing the undivided symbols on the legs and claws i've begun to put the khorne symbols on in place of them


Here is the head, you cant really see it in this picture by the cranium extends back like the newest bloodletters and a symbol of khorne is inscribed on it.


Here are the two claw plates, i think they are pretty self explainitory

I think it would look better without a berzerker handling the cannon. It just takes away the point of a defiler ( which is one daemon entity not a tank ).

The Berzerker will not be actually handling the cannon, just riding and slaughtering with the defiler.

I plan to put him on the shoulder instead of by the cannon as there is really no room on the main body for him to go.

Most Impressive. Especially like the head.

Well, now that so many people said it, it's hard to look at it without thinking about fallic symbols....

Still a pretty cool conversion though. The new GS symbols look pretty good.

I must say that it looks great! The great eyecatcher for those who have passed their Freudian phallic phase, is definately the large WE symbol on the body, which I think is expertly done (your green-fu is very strong, please divulge on how you did that...). Furthermore, the head is great, and the idea of berzerker(s) riding along is fantastic, very apoc-wise. Go for it !

I really like it, but my only problem with it is that its arm looks too small. Also if youre going to use the flail arm on the left side, well... I personally think that arm looks stupid as hell... I'd attach it to some sort of other mechanics if I were to use it (so it doesnt look like it has a mental disability whilst attacking).

I like it a lot, but I agree with anticitizen, the arm is a little small, but otherwise it looks good!

Alright so here are a few ideas that I have come up with.

About the Fallic cannon:
1) Leave it as it is, or
2) create a skull emblem that would be similiar to the origional plate that normally goes over the back of the cannon.

About the small arm:
1)I dont really know what I can do with this, that is the largest tyranid arm that i could find, so if anyone has any suggestions feel free to ass em.

About the last arm:
1)Use another defiler claw arm, though I would need to by some off ebay.
2)convert the flail arm into a swinging arm
3)convert the arm to make it seem as though it was crushing the life out of a marine.
4)replace the spike balls on the end with small clawed hands, and convert it to make it seem more alive and demonic

As far as my so-called greenfu, I dont think that I am that good yet. I use rubber clay sculpting tools and the GW clay tool (although i do not like the think blade that they put on it now, i have an older one with a thinner blade) and an x-acto knife. I think that the clay sculpters are probably the too that i use the most to mold and smooth the gs. also remember to always keep your tools wet so that they dont stick to the gs

I think the Defiler looks very nice, and I consider myself a connoisseur of all things walker+battle cannon. I just think it's obviously a dick cannon.

Instead of making it better, I say just own it.

You gotta want it more than the other guy

About the smaller arm, The nurgle army showcased in apocalypse reloaded has a defiler with nid monstrous creature scything talons, It uses three of them to make one close combat weapon.

But it is really looking good.

That is some great green stuff work! Definitely keep it up, can't wait to see more!

p.s. the battlecannon seems extremely (edit: i just realized everyone said the same thing)

so after some camera diffuculties heres the next update, changed up the mace CCW so it does not look as bad, also fleshed out and added some detail to the tyranid CCW. Finally started on the "banner" back symbol which will be a combination symbol of khorne and World eaters logo.

Heres just a few new shots of some stuff that I recently got started or finished

This is the icon of khorne that is mounted on the back of the defiler


This is the flail arm, its somewhat hard to see but i started sculpting a gaping mouth on the inside.


I also started on the berserker who will ride the defiler and have one question for everyone..
in one of his arms he is going to have one of two things
A) Chains with skulls on the ends
B) Chains that wrap around the entire defiler, like a metal demon harness type o thing

Which do you guys think?
