I was wondering if everyone agrees with me or if there is a race you dislike facing more. For me it's necrons. Primarily because they have one tank, thats 14 all around, the nightbringer is almost unkillable and there basic troops are essentially space marines with feel no pain. Plus your never really going to be surprised when playing a necron player, any opinions?

You never know, someone might make an assault Necron army... you know... when Flayed ones become troop choices...

I personally hate space marines. too many of the opponents models can choose to fail leadership and fall back ( which doesnt kill them if they get caught) but they have too many power weapons as well as low ap, as well as special rules that they have no one else can get. When i encounter them they only just manage to phase me out as necrons...errrhg ...space marines

but with the new codex out space marines have become balanced, adamantine mantle possibly the cheapest thing in existence is now a thing of the past. and space marines cost the same as warriors, and space marines dont have we will be back

I don't mind any army that I lose to, but I really don't like playing against Necron armies.

The rules for them have just never seemed to mesh well in my opinion. I've lost track how many FAQ's have been written for the Monolith and WBB just is a pain to play against. I'll be happy to see a new codex written for them.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Necrons and ork horde, not because I cna't beat them becausse, necrons is just move roll dice get shot repeat... and orks play your tuen wait 30 mins play your turn wait 30 mins get charge attack wait 30 mins for his attacks.

Demons. Mainly because when I play people who play demons at my FLGS they deploy terrain like TFG. They will put all the largest ruins that we have at the store on the board and that fills 25% fast. Then the game just isn't entertaining. Oh I shoot your bloodletters, oh I assault your bloodcrushers, now I assault your blood letters too, game over I win. I've never lost a game to either of them but it's just brutally boring slogging through a game with demons.

Dark angels. My army lacks the ability to deal with large amounts of Armor 14 and 2+ saves. I get stomped all over by them.

i agree typeline that daemons seem like a boring race to fight, and i agree that there not overpowered in any way, seems like an easy, but boring win

I have certainly witnessed opponants crying in the face of my Necron army.

Personally i dont like playing orks, occasionally they can do something horrible like squigging my nightbringer with Old Zogwart, not to mention the shokk attack gun.

The army I hate to face the most with both my 40k armies is Tyranids. I cannot seem to ever pull a win out against them. But this may be due to the fact that no matter when or where I play against nidz, it's always a freaking Godzilla list.

When I play my marines, the army I hate playing against the most is other marines. It's such a boring game. Plus my marines wear wet paper bags as armor becuase I can't make saves at all while my Eldar roll 4+ invuls and 5+ covers like nothing.

As Eldar, I hate playing against Necrons because they just won't die. I only run two Fire Prisms, too.

Well yes, some very hysterical and fun things can happen when playing with Orks. However once seeing your 360 point Nightbringer swiftly demoted to a squig. Well its somethign you wont get over soon.

Probably Orks, they're so boring to play against and I just don't enjoy playing against them whatsoever. I'd rather cut my arm off with a spoon.

Plus there's always "Sweet I get 70 attacks!" "Um, can I just remove the squad then? They're not going to live." "No I wanna see how many wounds you take."

Then I just go read a magazine or something.

Lol well i guess the necrons dont have that problem. Its more like

"Sweet i get 70 attacks!"
"Nice 35 hit!"
"Wow 12 wounds"
"Shi.t you saved 7 of them with armour saves"
"FUC.K the F.uckers stood back up"

I hate facing the internet lists. Not because of the lists themselves (though they are always the no-brainer lists) its because it just seems I am playing someone with no imagination.

So now, the new flavor of the month is ork nob bikers. Wow, talk about can you take the training wheels off your army? What possible tactical acumen is needed when your whole game consists of: Turn one, turbo boost, turn 2, win the game.

It was the same with mech eldar, the same with godzilla nids, the old iron warriors, the old demon bomb siren prince lists, the old blood angel rhino rush armies, the list just goes on and on. With the advent of the internet, the hobby took a giant step backwards. FFS you guys, get off your lazy asses and make your OWN LIST, dont use the internet to babysit your unimaginative ass!

So yeah it irritates me to no end if as my opponent is deploying his army, I dont need to ask what is IN the list, since its the same Net list everyone else is running. True story, I had one opponent bust out his Tau, and I asked him what his Advanced Tau Tactica handle was, as it was clear the list was lifted straight off that site He asked If I played Tau too hahahaha

Crap players playing the Internet FotM still lose against good players with their own lists (admittedly these also tend to be Internet lists). Personally, I like running up against the crap FotMers because they're harder to beat than if they also had a crap list. Admittedly neither game is incredibly fun, but sometimes you can't pick who's at the store when you want a game!

Try playing against three soul grinders.

Build a fire for a man and he will be warm for a day; set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.

Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain.

Sly Marbo doesn't go to ground, the ground comes to him.

Yeah, but sometimes you come up with what you think is an good origonal list, then you get on-line only to see that everyone else is doing the same thing. I guess it doesnt matter if you come up with it or you get it on-line. Cheese is Cheese. I thought I came up with the LOS demon prince spam, Tyranid Warrior w/deathspitter spam, and recently the Nob biker super unit. I get on-line only to find out I'm not the only one who can see what is powerful and what is worthless. My hat is off to anyone who can come up with crazy-new army configs, but their's what works and what doesnt work.

Orks, Noob biker spam specifically, I can understand keeping an ace or two to make up for bad rolls or to counter something unexpected, but if that's your entire army's crutch, I find it distasteful.
I hope I'm not the only one who builds a list based on what I like, rather than the units most likely to produce "insta-win"

Does a 600pt list w/ 3 Wraithlords count?

(It's my store mini-league, but I got the points value mixed up between WFB and 40K.)

One means the Mechanicum truly loses their gak, and the other means the Eldar realize that Vaul is really a toaster and experience religion fail.

thew Nightbringer is so easy to kill!! :O
rending, snipers, poisened etc
rangers, witchblades, harlequins whatever!
i once played necrons and made them phase out in turn 1, after taking 2 wounds off the nightbringer with 5 sniper scouts..
his armour is BAAAD for a 300 point model!, so just go for regulated wound models.. like poisened and snipers
