So in the next few weeks I am going to purchase a Bio-titan off Forge World. I want to do an epicly awesome scenic base. So far my idea is to have several fleeing Guardsmen (one of whom was stepped on/impaled) and a single space marine standing and shooting up at it in a futile effort to kill it. But I don't know what kind of terrain to do for it. Any ideas for terrain or even what i could do with the guardsmen or marines?

Check your local hobby stores (not gaming stores, but like model train stores) for some trees of the right scale. I think that'd be a neat start. plus I like the way FW did the one on their site.

ya me too, I'll probably end up throwing a few trees in there but I wanna do something really cool and unique...problem is i'm not very creative

the 'nid style spires! all over the base!

this would make the 'phant seem so much bigger

the idea of fleeing IG is great i think.
because of the size of the model, why not create a trench on the base and some barb wire.
Just to show how Big the effect would be, if your a noble dying for the False emperor.

Litter the ground with Aquila ruins from Battle of Maccagre.

Get the wounded space marines from the collectors range and use the firing one instead of a standing marine.

Scratchbuild something that looks like it could possibly have been, in a past life, a Warhound titan, with some fleeing marines. Or maybe just scenic base w. lone Commisar standing and shooting the bug, which is just looking at him.

Here's a thought, what with the BEHEMOTH size of the hierophant, why not have it stepping down/up a cliff that would be impassable to normal units built into the base.

Anybody know if the kit will allow the legs to do this?

not really without converting it. I saw a full buildup on one of those not too long ago and the legs were pretty much.... hey they are walking, and thats it lol.
I like the OP idea tho, shoot that thing is a massive mini, why not have some busted ass vehicle or something under it. A smoking russ or something with the smoke billowing out from under it would be pretty damn epic IMO

Actually, a real Commissar would be politically advising his Military officer counterpart. Y'know, if they were still around.

I like the idea with fleeing guardsmen and the wounded Space Marine.

I think go with the guardsmen or the space marine, but not both. It is unlikely the two would be working together.

I know they DO work together in a theatre of operations, but more often than not the Space marines will fight on one front, while the guard do their thing elsewhere.

As for the base...what about a pair of dreadnoughts? Get them cheap from Black Reach, and you can have one impaled or crushed and the other trying to spit out a final few shots or one hit in with his CCW before he to dies...

i would be happy with anything involving dead guardsmen

You could have a large statue of an emporer-ish figure grumbling to pieaces as the hierophant hits it with its massive claw and have a few space marines looking in horror as the emoror crumbles under the strengh of the tyrand,Like a metaphor of whats to come!

I agree killing guardsmen is overkill, but how does an Aquila Lander fit into a Hierophant base? Its an orbital lander, likely not going to be getting near the titan, as it mainly carries dignitaries and high ranking Guard Officers...

Not to speak for LunaHound, but i think he meant just for show as a downed Aquila, rather than the ship was brought down by the hierophant (which would be AWESOME).

Technicly the Hierophant should only have destoyed stuff on the base that he can actually destroy. A Bio-Gun is never going to hit an aquilla mid-flight ( unless extremly lucky ). It should have a foot through a land raider or something because its feet just look like REALLY big scything talons. And the trench idea is really cool because they can't do anything but shoot him with flashlights!

I think you soul add the trench idea to a corner of your base for this thing, and if you make this disply, make the base of it HUUUUUGE! for more epic feel. add some trees yess, make a few knocked over, uprooted for example. Add some IG AND SMs fallen and 'dancing' from the monster. Dancing if you dont know s when you run like hell but still try and shoot at the foe(s). maybe add some tank debris hanging from its maw, like a hungry spider holds a moth....yummy. Also for a cinematic effect try greenstuffing some rockets being fired off into its direction?...

0.o what if the Aquila is landing into an IG base ? like say the commanders arriving to *deal with the tyranid threat.

I imagine it hovering low , ready to find a landing spot, and splat. shot down by giant twin linked venom cannons

I agree the aquila might look good as just terrain, but should not be assumed to be hurt by the Titan.
