Aloha, long time lurker here and I wanted to share one of our Apocalypse games. My buddy is playing Tyranids and I am playing Witchunters. This post is pic heavy (25 pics) and I will keep the descriptions short.

Tyranids steal Initative and and open up on my girls

My girls (and boys) hunker down

Superheavies take a bunch of hits and survive unscathed

Hierophant hangs back and covers other troops. 3 Zoanthropes and a Tyrant go down to superheavy fire.

Gaunts move to take objective.

Tyranids reveal Flank March

Penitants rage forward

Sisters clean up Flankers

Sisters protect their Vital Objective

Hierophant is still hanging back to avoid Penitants

Hierophant eats a Penitant after taking a few wounds

Penitants get distracted by closer targets

Malenthrop eats another Penitant

Hierophant finally advances

More stealers flank

Lictor attacks near Vital Objective

Hierophant is unstopable

Arco-flagelants finish off Tyrant

Vital Objective defended for now

Gaunts continue to lurk

Hierophant assults ruin, a foot from Vital Objective.

Sisters cleanse another objective

Inquisitor is fustrated by undying Hierophant

Hierophant wipes out sisters in ruin and moves on to Vital Objective

Game ends before Hierophant can reach it. Witchunters win by one point.

Awesome! Thanks for posting this!

First off, beautiful armies. Those tanks are amazing, and I love the brighter Behemoth scheme on your friends' Nids.

Second, Arco Flagellants??? Haha! I love that you made full use of the crazy units in the WH Codex for this game, and still won!

Grats on the win!

Thanks!

My friend painted the tanks, check out senjistudios.com for some of his other killer paintjobs

I hope to post more pic heavy reports in the near future.

All the armies are mine actually; see the sig below

Amazing, I never thought I'd see a painted apocalypse-sized tyranid army - and beautifully painted, to boot! This was a great read after battle report after battle report consisting of barely primed or just-assembled models.

Very cool report and great looking armies. It was very easy to follow.

Question: What do you think of the 'Flank March' ability out of Apocolypse? To me it seems a bit too over the top.

Thanks for the report. It's always nice to see two well painted armies and terrain.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Well Flank Marching against Sisters can be very risky especially if Sisters go second because they excel at fire-fights. So the way it worked in this battle was he poped up behind me turn 2 and then I toast his Flankers with my reserves. Same thing for turn three. The key is to have some counter attack measure waiting in your deployment zone and in your reserves if you are going against an assault based army

By the way, All my armies are Apocalypse ready (air defense, warmachines and at the very least 3000 points) and fully painted. My secret? Audio books and no online games

More Battles to follow, thanks for the encouragement everyone.

Can Gaunts hold Objectives while outside of Psynapse in apocolypse? It the codex it says they can't.

Nice report, simple and visually stimulating. I play nids and chaos, and I'm trying to have a fully painted Endless swarms. I can't wait until I'm done.

If you smell bad, take a shower before playing me. I hate when people devote too much time to something that they can't even shower.

Sorry, not "lurk" per the rules. They just sat on the objective protected by a hive tyrant. All in all my buddy played the bugs rather defensivly

Nice write up. I have an Apoc game coming up and I'm trying to decide between plopping 3000 points of painted bugs or trying to get to 2,000 points of painted Tau

Hey thanks Panic! Your battle reports have been an inspiration to me. I will try to do the overhead shot (would love to know how you do it) and I also want to include the full army spreads (one picture of all one army another picture of all the other army).

Great report. Nothing like seeing an Apoc battle with fully painted armies. I can't believe you had the guts to prop up the heirophant like that on the ruin! I'd be afraid of breaking something...

Hello Guardsmen, look at your Leman, now back to mine, now back to your Leman, now back to mine. Sadly, your Leman isn't mine, but if they stopped using standard engines and switched to Lucifer Pattern, they could move like they're mine. Look down, back up. Where are you? Your in a battlefield with the Rhino your Leman could move like. Whats in your hand, back at me, I have it, it's the fire control for the Twin-linked Assault Cannons aimed at you. Look again, it's a Deep-Striked Land-Raider. Anything is possible when your Tanks move like Blood Angels, and not like Guardsmen. I'm on a Baneblade.
