They already did
Pedro
Podding/Mechanized Sternguard
Scouts
Storms/Speeders
Allied Inquisitors
Maybe Allied stormtroopers
Done and done But seriously probably not till they update all the current armies. And then it's a toss up as to whether they'll get a book or be incorporated into an Inquisition book. Personally I don't think they have the ability to be different enough to encourage what is for all practical purposes a 6th space marine army (not counting CSM).

No. There were temporarily rules for Deathwatch as an allied unit, but they appear to have fallen by the wayside. As other posters have pointed out, Space Marine Sternguard Veterans make very good approximations of Deathwatch Kill-Teams.

Personally myself I'd like to see a DW SM army list or at the very least an allied listing for them. IMHO I don't think that the sternguard do justice to the DW SM, as they're a strictly shooty unit with the exception of the sergeant who can take CCW's. The same could be said about the vanguard veteran except they're the CC brothers of the sternguard.
The DW allowed the unit to be either CC or shooty or a good mix of both. With the unit also being led by a captain or a librarian makes the unit that much tougher at least IMHO. Besides the DW are the militant arm of the ordo xenos which is part of the inquistion which like the GK's is kewl. Also what is there not to like about being able to move and fire with HB's and having two of those puppies in your squad. Just my two bolter rounds worth tho'.

Opinion? The Deathwatch will probibly show back up when they come back out with the Inquisition codex.
Fact? The Deathwatch are available already. The rules are located on the GW site under downloadable rules.
- " Up to one Kill team can be included in and Imperium army as an HQ choice..." etc. etc.
- "As an alternative to fielding entire kill teams, you may upgrade one or more members of any Space Marine army selected from only Codex Space Marine to members of Deathwatch..." etc. etc.
There are more to the two pages, but I only included a sample here.
Seriously? One squad, or the specific marines, are enough. With what is designated, you can include as many Deathwatch as you want to in a Space marine army. as long as they are designated in the set slots.
These guys have some serious firepower. You put too many on the table, your going to tick people off.

With the way BW has been heading, it's hard to say. I have 2 10 man units of Deathwatch that I occasionally cycle into a marine list, so I'd like to see some solid rules for them. They'll hopefully get a mention in the new Inquisition book. Seems a shame to do the models and not be able to play them anymore.

Deciding that I wanted to start an army that has no rules, rather than starting one and then GW taking my rules away (LatD and soon Inquisition), I've actually made a full Deathwatch army. I have a DW Command Squad, two DW Terminator Squads, two DW Tac Squads, a DW Assault Squad and a DW Dev Squad. They all have various shoulder pads - even the Terminators have a smattering of various Forge World Chapter pads - and they're a great army. No rules, but I don't care. I made 'em for fun. Will GW ever do Deathwatch in a Codex? No. They won't. Alien Hunters aren't being made, and the next Inquisition Codices will be Codex: Grey Knights and Codex: Sisters of Battle, both with token representation of Generic Inquisitors.

It was one of those nitch armies/units to start with. No big loss either way. Something simular to the BA Death Company army.

I think sternguard make a shockingly good proxy deathwatch unit. Special ammo complete with old deathwatch favorite.. hellfire rounds, good CC potential, complimented VERY well by a librarian.

Someone on Warseer has rumored that the Deathwatch will be handled by Forgeworld. Seemingly it will be when they get around to the Adeptus Mechanicus, after some Daemonhunter stuff is finished. Beyond that nothing official as far as Ordo Xenos or Alien Hunter codices.

A Death Watch modelled army would look pretty cool, but the background for them states that they are never deployed in anything bigger then a single squad, so its unlikely GW will release official rules for an army of them. But I really like the idea of a sternguard army, that's as close as I think it'll get.

This is probably why GW won't do any official work on them and just leave them for FW to use as a task force that supplements and assists the Adeptus Mechanicus' efforts in studying alien technology.

At one of the UK Games Days, I think it was 2006, they had a participation game going that was really fun (not that I was able to get a go, even after waiting for ages). It was called 'Movie Marines' and had a squad of Death Watch Marines fighting off a whole army of Nids (mostly Tyrants and Carnifexes). It was a last stand themed battle with all the Nids getting to respawn after death, while the Death Watch had to last a certain number of turns/kill a set amount of Nids etc... But in order to make the Death Watch really cool they were way more powerful then normal. For instance one marine had a heavy bolter which got more then 3 shots a turn and he could move and shoot. Another with lightening claws got an insane number of attacks in close combat. All of them had multiple wounds and extra attacks then normal, but as it was a while ago now I can't remember any more about it. It was a lot of fun to watch though.

Not yet. They're not painted, I just built them, went 'that's cool' and then put them away. I need to go back to them to fix up some shoulder pads (I haven't put the FW Terminator ones on yet), but once that's done I painting them should be easy (they're More Different Black Marines).

I have the parts for a vast DW army (I wanted to make a whole outpost of them) but I doubt we will get any formal rules for them anytime soon (except, maybe, for the rumored FW ones).

At the point where the only one in the squad who has access to CCW's is the squad leader. When you look at the sternguard they're meant to be the stand-off fire support kind of squad that has access to special bolter ammo. The WS4 S4 I4 are all standard SM stats, what sets them apart from other SM's is their A2 and Ld9 and of course the special bolter ammo. The A2 stat just gives them the ability with which to better defend themselves.
In the DW squads the SM's had access to CCW's which like I stated in an earlier post, gives them the ability to either stand-off with their ranged weapons, here again special bolter ammo or go xeno hunting or have some shooty and CCW in the squad. IMHO tho' if you're going xeno hunting with the sternguard then I think it nullifies the special ammo that they have available to them. It's one thing to take away the advantage when the enemy gets alittle close and get the +1A for charging then letting the enemy have it but is totally different when your going after them with the sternguard. That's what the VVG SM's are for. Or in this case a DW SM squad kitted out for xeno hunting with CCW's. Just my two bolter rounds worth tho'.

You are allowed to take normal Space Marines with a Daemon Hunter or Witch Hunter army.
It's bad enough that there are so many effectively identical codex out there that are effectively duplicates with MAYBE 3 new squads...
Space Marines=Death Angels=Blood Angels=Space Wolves=Black Templars
in a good 70-90% of the army list and book.
Similarly, there really isn't any point in having a Daemon Hunter book AND a Witch Hunter book since they are 90% identical. There really isn't any reason you can't just roll them into a single book.
Similarly, Xenos Hunters would be a pointless book as all it would do is give you the exact same options you have with the other Inquisitor armies and tell you that you can take Space Marines with it-- which you already can according to the other two.

Witch Hunters and Daemonhunters are closer to only 50% the same, I don't count the "allies" as part of the books, just an optional way to play them. The trend with GW will probably restrict the inducted units by putting them into the codices rather than referencing other books and doing that would likely result in them getting trimmed down or modified outside of their parent book.
Deathwatch I think stands a chance of happening, but would be a long way off. I see it as how GW would follow up Sister of Battle and Grey Knights if those proved to be successful. The rumor of a combined codex for all inquisitions been knocked down by GW in favor of focusing in more on the Chamber militants.
