I don't have pictures of everything done so far this year, but I figured I'd start the post anyhow.

So far: 165 models

50 Bloodletters
30 Flesh Hounds

20 plaguebearers

24 horrors (including changeling)

16 bloodcrushers (8 pictured)

2 Bloodthirsters

An'ggarath

Kairos, Fateweaver

3 Flamers

Not yet pictured
4 Khorne Chariots
1 Khorne herald on juggernaut
1 Soulgrinder
14 dwarf bloodbowlers

Next up:
6 screamers, 6 flamers, 1 tzeentch chariot, Blue scribes, 2 tzeentch daemon princes, 20 more horrors, 1 tzeentch herald on foot, 2 khorne daemon princes, 1 soul grinder, 1 undivided daemon prince, skulltaker, 3 ultraforge daemons, 1 chaplain dreadnought, 3 random chick minis for friends, Forgeworld biker warboss

Which will put my total at 215 once they're finished... But now the summer starts and the nice weather lures me outside... This might be difficult.

Wow!!! That is a lot done in a very short period of time. I've seen lots of models done quickly, but most never are to the standard that yours are at.

520 in a year? Good luck.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Sarigar: The 520 attempt is to keep a 10 per week pace, but if you hit 520 in a
year you're good.

Redbeard: You do a mighty job keeping up the quality along with the speed. Impressive!

Look, another one done:

Heh, I got slowed down when I decided to make a new gaming table instead of paint minis.

Falling behind!!!

Too much time spent on individual models :(

Since last post (at 165), I've finished:
Chaplain dread (166)
A bunch of terrain: (See my terrain thread)
20 painted and distinct Terrain pieces (186)
10 Squigs (196)

Three chicks:

And a Valkyrie (197)

To keep on pace for 520, I need to be at 260 by the end of June, so I need to finish another 63 models in the next 40 days. And, too many of the things that I need to paint are vehicles. This challenge is not as easy as it seems.

Well, it's easier if you forgo quality. That's why I find Redbeard's attempt so tasty.

My own attempt is filled with sloppy paint jobs covered with a satin spray.

It really depends. During the winter, I'll paint a lot more, generally 2-3 hours/night (M-Th), and 8-9 over the weekend. During the summer, if it's nice out, I may not paint at all, or only an hour or two. Friday nights are for gaming, and at least one night/week is for the wife

Just to kind of stay on top of the counting here, since last post, I've finished:

1 Soul Grinder
5 Daemon Princes
2 Bloodthirsters
4 Chaos Spawn
1 Herald on foot
1 Lord of Change
1 Keeper of Secrets
1 Tzeentch Herald
---
16 - I'll be taking photos of all this tonight, so pictures later...

Total: 254 (Should be at: 310 - can't help myself, it's more fun to paint really big daemons)

(But, I have an ace up my sleeve - I've got a whole mess of PlanetStrike defense lines and automated weapons and the like that should paint up real fast)

3 Escape Hatches

Brings the total up to: 352 models

I sold my tyranid army once. But I kinda regret it, so mostly, they just pile up.

I did sell a bunch of older terrain earlier this year, so I do have to keep some things in check...

40 Plaguebearers

(Slowed down - as I spent the afternoon gaming instead of painting)

Wednesday's total;

2 Winged Daemon Princes
3 Plague Ogryns
3 Beasts of Nurgle
48 nurglings*

These nurglings are going to go on the bases of other models (I think 15 nurgling bases is probably enough for gaming with), and as such are not being counted towards the 520 total.

Total Count: 457 (63 to go, with three months left)

But, this is the last of the rank&file for a while, just monstrous creatures left for this army.

1 Forgeworld Mammon Daemon Prince
1 Forgeworld Herald of Nurgle
1 Kugath Conversion

Kugath is very complicated though. Here's what it looks like:

Today, I painted some random models I found at a local game store.

I intend to come up with a set of rules for a simple game using these most natural of enemies.

I think it will be something like the traditional chess learning game, where one side gets a king+queen, and the other gets a king+8 pawns.

The Polar Bear will have to eat all the penguins before any of them can cross the board and escape into the ocean. The polar bear will move a bit faster than the penguins, because the penguins are returning from huddling together (as seen in March of the Penguins). Once per game, each penguin can make a special 'belly-slide' move that gives them a double move. Once the game, the polar bear can use a special 'bat' move, to hit one penguin into another. Just like in those nature videos.

Total: 475 (45 to go)
