Looking snazzy so far. Fingers crossed for Myrmidons looking good.

Wow. Those guns look absolutely rubbish.

There isn't enough to make any kind of judgement yet, other than "Elves. Elves with guns. Some dudes in armor", so nothing surprising yet.

I'm already laughing at those helms that leave the big point ears sticking out to be torn off.

It's like a striptease, except with toy soldiers, and other overweight men, wait, it's exactly like a striptease.

I was just thinking about elven 'man-o-wars' since they have a high tech thing going on.

I've been out of Warmachine for the last 2-3 years. I've been looking forward to 2nd edition and the new Elves. I'm not really wowed by the artwork. The ears remind me of Drew Hayes' 'Poison Elves' (kinda cool), but the weapons look very 'mehhh' to me.

Hopefully, sculpts will look cool.

I think it's cool that PP is sticking to its WM aesthetic regarding the swords - at least some of them. Every other elf out there has skinny, "fine" swords. Stupid crossbow elf has one of those.

I think it stands to reason in the setting. Many armies have troops with extremely heavy armour, to say nothing of the warjacks themselves. Rapiers don't really, ah-ha, cut it.

If the Elf sword guys turn out to be large models, would you be averse to seeing them
used as Counts As Terminators?

Yeah, but you have that in 40k too.

PP: Humans in big blue armor, Humans in big red armor, Elves in big armor, Undead in big armor
40k: Blue Space Marines, Black Space Marines, Red Space Marines, Spiked Space Marines.

That is exactly what I was thinking! Some big fat Khador Man-O-War grabbing a handful of lobe and giving it a yank.

I really like the WM models, but can't work up any enthusiasm to paint them up. And no one really plays in my area anyway, well, back home they don't.

Meh I say to elves.

Any other faction besides Mercenaries, you mean? No shoulder pads on Sea Dogs! I think there's just not that much design space in the Iron Kingdoms setting, as they're can't rely on stereotypes in the same way WHFB can.

Which is "ironic", since you have more to fear from a blade that can get in the chinks/holes in your armor than you do from a big heavy axe/sword which would be more like a really poor hammer to that scale of armor. Wait, never mind, I forgot, this is a "HIGH" magic setting with too much "Rule of Cool" flowing through it.

There's a huge similarity between the armor the heavy infantry is wearing and Goreshade's armor. Nice to see they're actually tying the fluff together.

Well, against warjacks the notion of hitting vulnerable spots through weak points in the armor doesn't work, because there are no traditional vulnerable spots in a giant steel robot, and the ones there are you're not going to make a difference at poking them with an epee.

I gave up Warmachine a few years back, mostely because it was billed as cheaper than 40k and about Jack combat, both are SO not true, but really enjoyed the look and feel of the game setting.

I hear now that its more Jack intensive but I have sold all my painted Khador stuff so im done with that. I have to say though I like where they are going with the elves. I love the big ears! Very Elflord or I Lusipher/Poison Elves looking. I was sort of spent out on the whole Vulcan ears for elves bit. But those are some serious elf ears there!

I for one am going to be all over that like white on... Well, myself actually.

I've loved Eldar/Dark Eldar - I know different game; and I've always been a fan of medieval/sci-fi/steampunk Elves. That and the Merc models of the "same" faction look tits.

Not a big fan, because nothing is cooler in the Iron Kingdoms than the Trolls.

Hmmm, I see anime stylings, infantry with huge techy guns, battlesuits. It seems Scyrah are PP's Tau.....

So here's the thing. When I thought it was just a random collection of images, I didn't really
pay attention. However, they were talking up a really big sword, and I had no clue what
they meant. I thought they were talking up the big armored guys in the upper left hand
corner. And then I looked.

There seems to be a big blade starting in one panel and ending in another. Can you see it?

With the perspective being what it is, the big guess is that it's a Myrmidon wielding a blade
similar to what a Nephilim soldier carries.
