And the awesome warcaster begins to take shape. Neat jacks.

Perhaps PP is a fan of Five star stories? The elfjacks are looking similar to the general design of Five Star Stories Mecha.

I'm kidding, but I have to agree the heads are going the route of fail.

Looking at the reveal, I wonder if the starter box will be like this:
- caster
- large
- medium
- 2 characters
That'd be the 5 most prominent things shown.
____

@Meph:

In no way are these jacks anywhere near like a FSS design. Aside from a pale-colored robot, they just don't match.

And here it is in all its glory!

The starter will be a Caster, and 2-4 jacks (with probably 1 heavy and 2 light), keeping it like all the other starter boxes.

I sadly have to agree as well. The first Myrmidon looked damn good. However, seeing a clearer picture of the design of the new jack, I can look more closely and critically at the first one, and it's head/helmet appears to be more similar to the new jack than what I had originally seen.

I originally looked more like a wraithguard style helm, but closer inspection it looks more like a froopy helmet.

The heads aren't bad to me. The Left Mechas head looks a bit better than the rights. Very Masamune Shirow.

The light mecha might make for good wraithguard replacements.

hm, what's interesting is the central figure, whom we've now gotten a hint of, in the form of one hand holding a blade. I suspect he's the warcaster, given the position within the group shot.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

He OR she.

It might very well be Eiryss, returned to the flock

Left hand side, further back than the current one. Has a naginata kind of blade.

oomiestompa wrote:Another Myrmidon has been revealed today. It looks like a light jack with a polearm and a dong-helmet.

Woot! Beat him out by two minutes.

Those jacks are DEFINITELY both heavy. Like Khador. Burly mo-fo's. I like the overall look to them, but it just seems like they are lightyears ahead of everyone else. Like one squad of these guys must be 500pts. Or whatever the equivalent would be in mkII.

@Scotty:

I dunno, the swordjack is heavy (two wheels), but the halberdjack looks medium (one wheel).

But yeah, I'd expect them to be expensive and uber.

@Malf:

Waiting to see actual models before I commit myself, but that image definitely make me seriously consider picking them as my second faction.

The PP forums have already compared this guy to both Njal Stormcaller and Inquisitor Coteaz. *rolls eyes*

I'm pretty indifferent towards the bird guy. He's cool, he just didn't "wow" me.

As a whole, I think the cover is excellent with the highlight being Mittens and the lowlight being dong-helmet.

You know, your focus on dongs is quite revealing.

Or is it reviling?

So, oomiestompa is, in fact, a (the?) herald of the Pan-Fo?

I wonder if this new faction will be the shot in the arm PP hopes it will be?

@Alpharius: I can't speak for others, but the concept artwork is strong enough for me to consider buying the starter.

Given that I've not bought anything since WM was first released, that's a definite improvement.

Now that the cover has been fully revealed, I am going to make the elves my second faction (for warmachine of coarse as I already do Trolls and Everblight for hordes).

I am not a fan of the second helm either, but maybe seeing the model in real life will change my mind.

The only thing that would ever hold me back would be crappy models, which PP has either truly stunning models or utter crap models. Let's hope they have Werner klocke doing the range. That would be awesome!!

I do love the war caster, again I hope that the eagle translates well into mini form.

I certainly revile the reveal of the Dong-Helmet. I can't wait until you take your Skorne against Thanatos73's Retribution. I'm going to make Dutch Rudder jokes the entire time.

Pfft. Pan-Fo ain't got nothin' on me.

Matt Wilson came on to post about how happy he is with how the Retribution turned out. You can find it here.

Wow, for real. Self-Aggrandize much? Was there anything of substance in his wall of text? To summarize:

"We wanted to go in a different direction, and we did, and we like it and we were trying to please ourselves, so it doesn't matter if you like it or not, but we appreciate that some of you like it."

Now, for any of those who haven't figure it out yet, there is only ONE warcaster featured on the cover. You've got a couple solos, a couple examples of Myrmidons, and a bunch of other cool units and stuff. Again, this is just a taste. There is so much more where this came from.
