Since this is for the most part a Multi-national forum I thought I would pose this question.

After watching a special on U.F.O.'s (the rather crappy one with Dan Acroyd) I was wondering what the worlds real stance/policy is on these "phenomena".

Apparently the U.S. gov't is the only gov't left actively denying the existance of UFO's? Are any of the other gov't's out there actually chasing answers? Any news/developments from outside the USA that might be more or less censored here?

Just curious to see if there is any REAL info out there yet instead of the titilating garbage you normally get on these "specials". You know...all the stuff that doesnt really inform or tell you anything.

BTW, Dan Acroyd "unplugged" on UFO's is a waste of a dollar...watch it for free on the internet like I did if you feel like wasting an hour and a half.

I think things such as UFO's,ghost and things that go bump in the night are real.My favourite is the Wendigo.

Allegedly, at least there is actual visual evidence of UFO's with several corroborating witnesses. (like the recent sightings in Arizona, WTF was THAT all about?)

Legend Hunters a documentary series on the supernatural had a nice show on UFO's(well at least I liked it).It was also in Arizona I belive,the people there belive that the aliens are attracted to things called ''Lay lines" which they belive are even gates to other worlds and dimensions.

There have been many "sightings" over the past few years in England and Wales over here, however they always end up being those pictures in the paper of a funny light in the sky. If you look at The Sun newspapers website you could probably find a few of these pics.

The British government havent really denied or confirmed anything I think they are just leaving it for us to speculate on.

Still I would like to think thier is other intelligent life out there.

Would these galatic "Lay Lines" be similar to wormholes prehaps?

Ley lines exist. That's a pseudoscience fact. I mean, there's not a shred of hardcore evidence, but they are there, if you get my drift.

There was a guy called Nick Pope on the news recently who left the British MOD becuase he took a real offense to their stance on UFOs.
He has now 'come out' to the public, saying there are folders and folders on undisclosed information at the MOD, and he is appealing for it to be released to the public.

I think most people have an open-minded opinon on this one, and I think we all secretly want to believe in little green men. Once gak like this starts piling up you really start getting into it too...

Our house use to be haunted.The area were I live in used to be a concentration camp during the boer war,so our house feels real creepy.Also me and my dad once saw a spirit so I was really freaked out.

There´s a science for the search for animals that don´t seem to exist, like the yheti . The science is called Cryptozoology.

I don't believe in this sort of thing. I'm sure there are people who genuinely believe they have experienced these sorts of phenomena, just as I'm sure there are people who genuinely believe they have felt God or other religious experience. I however have experienced neither and thus have no reason to believe in them.

I used to thinki there had to be aliens, then I watched this tv show on the History channel.

It explained how the whole thing was just a government conspiracy. All the UfOs are actually re-vamped Nazi technology, built by Nazi scientists that the US captured after WWII. One of the pictures from some Arizona UFO crash made the UFO look exactly like a prototype plane that was built by the Nazis and disappeared after the war.

So, nope, no aliens for me. I do believe in Bigfoot though...

I believe there's aliens. I mean, in a galaxy and universe that's so huge, how could earth be the only planet among the bajillion sextillions of plants that has life on it? I think aliens have visited us throughout history and probably still do, but I think most of the UFO sightings are fake or just stupid people.

There's some interesting stuff on the history channel though like old aztec sculptures of alien looking things or space ships or old cave drawings of tall skinny people with big black eyes and stuff like that.

But I think really, if aliens were interested in our planet, they wouldn't hide and be sneaky about it.

There is no hard evidence that aliens exist... well accept for Fergie.

Wierdly enough (and I don't mean this in any adverse way) but all the SAs I know have had wierd ghosty experiences.
I started hanging out with a bunch of Saffers from London, so there's like 10 of us (myself and my girlfriend being the non-SAs) sitting round the campfire post-braii, telling ghost stories. I had two, my girlfriend had one, they had seriously like 5 or 6 each!

If aliens existed why would they bother us? Seriously if other creatures in the universe exist (which I don't believe they do) why would they pick our little ball of earth and water to visit? If an alien species should visit Earth they would be more advanced than us, have the ability to learn about us from a distance, and would be a little more careful than crashing in the western US or where ever else they would go.

If aliens are going to visit Earth it's going to be for hunting, enslavement, or purging. If Earth is the only pitstop for the next 1000 lightyears than yeah stop and take a siesta. While you're here impregnate our women, turn our cows inside out, and try a burrito. Otherwise keep your damn noses out of our business alien scum.

The reason why the aliens are not as stealthy as would make sense is simple. They don't want to hide from us. They are probably more than a little perplexed that some of us don't believe in them. No matter, any survey about it says that more people believe in aliens than not, so it's only a matter of time until they are such a common fact of life that all the government cover-ups will seem like one big joke.

If they don't want to hide from us WP then why don't they arrive en masse at the Mall of America or somewhere equally public? It just seems funny to me that nearly every siting has been during the night where only the "lights" can be seen. Why would an advanced alien species even need lights to fly? If we can develop stealth technology then why shouldn't they have something similar. Unless they are Gingers and the daylight is harmful to them.

If they wanted to be seen by us do a flyby during the day. Heck land in the middle of Yankee Stadium or during a Steelers game. That will get you some attention.

The Ministry of Defence has actually begun distributing it's UFO files over here. Y'see, after 50 years, all classified documents are regarded as being out of date, and as such, can be requested under the Freedom of Inofrmation Act. Under the law, the government has to comply. Since these are the first reports from 50 years they're pretty interesting, if a bit dated. They're worth a quick perusal if you have the time.

Is that observation from Ackroyd's show, or a similar show? It strikes me as the biggest problem with all the UFO hunting and UFO hunting shows, these people want to believe and want us to believe, and they'll use any argument to get there, doesn't matter how dodgy it is.

So you watch these things and a claim will come up that sounds like a huge, such that your government is the only one left denying UFOs, but then you look into what that really means. It means no other government has a policy on it because its a total non-issue, or if they have a policy its 'dunno, we've gotten some reports of strange lights but that could have been anything'.

But things like that get misrepresented as the far more exciting 'the US govt is the only govt left actively denying the existance of UFOs'.
